Ariom, yes my contact does the same, but like you said.. it is very comfy, hard to believe isnt it? I have been wearing it more lately, I even wore it to Zumba with sports bra and it was fine, I was afraid I would get too sweaty and it would slip, but nope! Maybe I didnt work hard enough?? I am so ready to get outside in warm and sunshine, but it just is not happening here, winter was so cruel and now a cold wet spring.. yuck, but I should not complain after seeing the destruction in OK with tornadoes.. I think Wren used to live there, imagine she has seen her share of them. They scare the heck out of me. Feeling for the people there. My Mom also suffered with le so much too, I am scared of it too. Hope your gym plan works for you.

Thinking of Zills right now.  Wondering how Bobo is doing? she has been so quiet, worried. GB, hope things are ok with you and the ear problem. Hi to everyone!

Zills, I hope your scans went well. When do you get the results?

As Linda says, M, your mother's experience and yours for witnessing it sounded dreadful. It's good that we learn from our parents' struggles and try to do things differently.

Hi gB, I hope the freezing will help your sore. I hope it's not too painful. Take care with the stomach bug, maybe we have the same one!

Good for you, wren, for the 80's temps waiting for you! Wow!

nd, similar temps to you here, it's nice today (it seems) but supposed to rain the rest of the week. Although I'm happy since DS and I sowed grass a week ago, so water is good!

Not feeling well. Yesterday and today are just wasted days. I'm not used to this. Not sure if I ended up getting food poisoining or if it's chemo SEs, or a bit of both. I did not even feel good enough to step outside yesterday, never happens. I need the fresh air (as fresh as the city can get!). Still in my pj today. I passed out a few times while trying to make DS' breakfast this morning (not totally out of the ordinary for me since I have low BP). Have been eating very little, stomach hurts. Have been sleeping during the day, which is very rare for me. Had slight fever last night but it went away. I can't wait to feel good!

Otceb, I think you should call your doctor and report. My BP was very low during pregnancy and I spent a lot of time with my head between my knees. Ironically, it is high now and I'm on 2 meds.

Hmmm. I'm eligible for a new foob. Should I try the contact?

I'm here, ND.  Semester finished Friday.  Now finishing grading.  It's hot here already -- can't believe it's cold there!  I am growing little seedlings of watermelon and pumpkins with the children, but that's all I've done.  Very low level.  And Z's flowers.

M, have been thinking of you so much, I know you miss Bec.  I think of you when my suncatcher gets going!  And I was thinking of you because I've just gotten so many new creams.  I am like the queen of creams now.  It takes me about a half hour to cream up after the shower.  I figure that with all I've been through, I deserve some cream.  That includes mederma.

Of course I've been in the bag for our Z all day.  Chanted the guru gita twice while cleaning the whole house and moving the furniture.  I feel that should do something, right Z?

All best to everyone.  Otceb, agree with Wren.

Yes OTC I think you should call the doc. I hope you can manage something. At the end of my chemo it was white bread toast and I've been a whole wheat girl all my life.  When I got the stomach bug during chemo it made me very tired but I couldn't tell any other difference from being sick with chemo but the boy had it too.  My last treatment was actually delayed a week.

M what is that class you are talking about? Also is it corn silk tabs that help with UTI? I know you've told me many times.

Too much stress and poor diet right now. Veg do not taste good and I was worried about scan. Just thought it was chest. Nope. Chest, abdomen and pelvis. Had to drink the yucky stuff. Glad I didn't know ahead of time. It's been a year since I had all that.

Results on Thursday. Ben and Jerry's already in freezer. My Walmart carries McVitties. The chocolate ones!

Thanks for everyone's support. Bobo texted me out of my increasing worries this am. Now just really tired. X hangover. I remember candy cigarettes. Thanks ND.

I start cancer yoga next week. Can't wait. Boy has swim lessons twice a week so will try to do some cardio the other days.

Off for a cup of tea. Maybe I can work up some energy to fold clothes and straighten up. Definitely need to mop floor tomorrow. Weekends have been beautiful. Almost 80. Rainy today.

Hello to everyone. Good luck GrammaB with ear. Hope you are feeling better. Need a baby update from Granwe!

    Morning Ladies!

Thanks for the kind words about my Mother's experience. It was really awful and I really admired her so much more, when I was going through the process myself. She had so much dignity and grace. She was devastated after losing my Dad and only found the lump because  one evening while was talking on the phone, she was cold and slid her right hand up under her left arm for warmth and found it.

Hi nd, I am glad it isn't just me having those issues with the Contact. I am liking it more than I did at the beginning.

Wren, I think the Contact is worth a try. nd and I couldn't wait to get them and then we weren't too impressed, now we are both wearing them more often, go figure!

Bobo, my lovely one! I am so pleased to see you here! I am also pleased to hear you've treated yourself to some creams. You deserve them...enjoy! I am glad the Sun catcher is still a reminder for you!

Watermelon and Pumpkins! Could you have planted anything bigger? I am laughing out loud here. I had a Pumpkin vine morph out of my compost, every day, I went out and it had traveled further across the yard and the Pumpkins were really big. I can't imagine Watermelons too! LOL

Hi Zills, you were the last thought I had before bed and my first thought this morning when I got up. I am sorry you had to take the nasty stuff, but better you didn't know about it first. Doctor just being cautious and pro active.

Yes, Corn Silk capsules, I buy them from iHerb, along with my other stuff from the US. I am now a VIP customer with a permanent discount! Yay!

I am not sure which class you are talking about. The Yoga didn't work out, too painful on my arthritic wrists, but I am going to start  going to the gym...I will let you know.

Making a note to buy chocolate Mcvitties, so we can both be having them at the same time! LOL

Otceb, I am with the others about checking with your Doctor. I can't wait for you to feel good too!

Take it easy everyone...catch you all later...M x

Zills, sorry you had to have the yucky stuff and whole scan but when it comes back clear you will be so relieved it was a full scan. Cancer yoga sounds interesting.. hmmm may have to look on youtube of course. We live in such a rural area I would have to drive too far.

Wren, you could sure try the contact and if you dont like it you can always still use it with the back cloth on it,so it would never be a waste.

Hey Bobo, good to see you here, miss your spunk! Oh how I wish I could start pumpkins and watermelons, a cold rainy week predicted for here. Send me some warmth please!!

OTc, guess you dont need another voice to tell you to go to dr., but I agree. Feel better soon.

    hi all!

I saw my surgeon earlier this week and we chatted about using my left arm for tests. He said that while they do try to avoid it they have to do what they have to do. I see that THIS will be interesting as weave forward. I don't want to be getting in heated discussions about this. There is enough stress without it!!

Tomorrow 8am I'll be having the port inserted. Hopefully they'll knock me out !!

Our party was great!  30+ people!  Nice to see everyone!  Great time!

Thankfully hockey playoffs are on so I'm preoccupied with watching my penguins tonight and my rangers tomorrow. Yup. Loving the rangers even though from Montreal!  The stories I can tell about watching games in Montreal and cheering for the flyers so many years ago!!  Lol

You are all so wonderful!!  I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow!!!!!!

Hi again, just looked in to joining the gym. Can't see any reason not to do it. Really reasonable prices, no locked in contract over the month to month, personal training sessions and a pool that won't freeze me into a RA attack. I think I can, I think I can!!!

Football Nut Good Luck with the port! I'll be thinking of you!

Great to hear the party was a success! Take it easy..M x

Hi! Linda, yes, you are right, it's about healing, right? For me, life is still about "doing", being productive. So if I don't work, do a family activity, house stuff or whatever, I think it's wasted. But I guess this time and stupid treatment is for healing... grrr, I just wish I did not need this! Will I ever accept my new normal??!!

M, I'm glad you're joining the gym. It will take motivation to drive to it, but I'm glad it has that pool and the BodyPump you like. Sorry yoga did not work out.

Zills, glad the scans are done, fingers crossed until your results. I hope you enjoyed the Ben & Jerry's!

bobo, glad to see you, congrats on the semester being done! What do you do during summers, do you teach? Good for you for growing pumpkins and watermelons - as M says, you could not have chosen bigger! I only grow one pot of cherry tomatoes to entertain DS, no room for anything else edible and I would be worried that racoons would get eat our fruits/veggies first!

Footballnut, in the bag for your port. Ok, I really won't comment (except I am now!) on the fact that you're a Rangers/Flyers/Penguins fan?? You were born in Canada, and you cheer for a bunch of American teams for our national sport?! I love our American friends too, but I don't need to cheer for their hockey teams!  :-)

Thanks all for your kind words. Of course I did not call the dr. I was afraid he would say to go to ER just to be safe, which was the last thing I wanted to do. But the fever never came back and I have not passed out since yesterday. I have a bit more appetite today although my stomach still hurts. I guess my body just doesn't like this chemo drug (wonder why?!)! I'm working from home today, it's going ok. Will go to the office tomorrow.

otceb it gets better!  When I lived in Montreal I was a fan of the flyers and toronto fan!  Lol. Now it's just pens and rangers. Lol

Port insertion went okay. The procedure started at 8:30 this morning. I was in recovery by shortly after 9:30am. They left it as accessed because I had blood work today and chemo tomorrow. First infusion!

Right now it stings a bit but can't complain.

At noon tomorrow I have my first infusion. Warlike today my MO told my hubby and I that there is an 80% chance that the cancer will not return and he feels that I will not have a hard time with SE from chemo. I'll let him know!!

    Lol

Really comfortable with my decision to have a MX and implant pulled. Doesn't bug me at all!!

The biggest thing that bothers me right now is the possibility of gaining 10 pounds!  My MO signed a form so that I can join the exercise class at wellspring. Can't wait!!

Once I'm strong enough I look forward to returning to the gym. I loved going there to work  out and miss it do much

Gonna nap now do that I can get up later to watch the hockey game!  Lol

    Take care all !

Morning all! Chilly morning here, but Sunny. A few Pelicans around which shows the Winter is coming!

otceb, so glad you're feeling a bit better! No fever or fainting, is a very good sign! LOL

Footballnut! I am in the bag for the first infusion! I am so glad the Port insertion went well!

When I was first Dx with RA, I had a wonderful Rheumy who was into the alternative modalities as well as the cutting edge medications of that time, told me to meditate that I was injecting something wonderful and precious every week, when I had the Methotrexate injection. I know that small amount of chemo drug is nothing compared to having a full infusion, but that picture and meditation, helped a lot during the 7 years I had to have that nasty drug.

    Take it easy everyone...M x

I'm in the bag as well, football.

You guys!!!  Pumpkins and watermelons were all that were being offered!   Was at the produce market -- they had these organic little 'grow your own plants' kits for kids -- they come with little box that can go in the ground, and seeds, and VERY SPECIFIC instructions.  You sprout it and then you put the whole container right in the ground.  And all that they had were pumpkins and watermelons!  And they were on sale!  Sooo... I bought them and did them with the kids, and... they are sprouting like mad!  Must find place where lawnmower man will not mow over them.  I am intuiting from M that I should place the seedlings pretty far apart.

Wow.  I am very behind at work.  I should be working right now in fact.  I too need a granwe update.

If you google Watermelons and Pumpkins, you'll see how fast and far they grow! I can't wait till they take off. I want a picture of the kids when they get up and the vines have grown a foot overnight! OMG I am peeing my pants right now. I love that you bought them on sale too! That's my girl!

I need a Gramwe update too. The baby will be a toddler before we know it! M x

    Hi Ladies!

Beautiful Spring day here, though the nights are still below freezing!  They opened the gates to the irrigation ditch behind my house a couple of days ago.  Today they let the full force of water come through.  This is what fills up my pond and the seasonal creek that flooded last month.  I was really worried that the landfall would mess with levels but it seems to be OK.  What a relief!  The water just backs up, there is very little movement, so I think the banks will hold just fine!  Phew!  I sure didn't want to have to put out any $$ on repairs.

My ear is not healing as well as I had hoped.  Still hurts and is crusty.  I'll have my MO look at it when I see him at the end of next month unless it gets worse sooner.

otceb, so glad to hear you are feeling better.  That must have been really scary.

Footballnut, glad the insertion went well, in the bag for your infusion.

Ariom, I have a pair of the contact boobs and have not yet tried them yet.  Maybe I'll give them a shot around the house and see how I like them.  I don't like the silicon ones at all.

The gym sounds like fun.  There is nothing anywhere near enough to be of any benefit to me unfortunately. A 70 mile round trip is just not something I want to do 3-4 times a week. Sorry the yoga didn't work out.

bobo, good to see you posting!  Pumpkins and watermelons, well they are great plants for kids to get introduced to gardening with, but boy will you be over run!  On the other hand fresh watermelon, yum!!

Missing gramwe here too.  I hope she is not still having trigger finger issues.

Hugs for everyone, I think of all of you every day!

omg I truly think I peed myself.  Hopefully..hopefully Bobogirl got some sort of compact variety.. if there is such a thing.  A couple of years ago, my GF's grandmother passed and I watched her two boys the day of the funeral.  It was a beautiful day and I asked them if they wanted to plant something. You guessed it, they picked pumpkins & watermelons and I figured what would be the harm, in fact I didn't think they'd grow at all.  We sowed them directly in the ground, probably only about 6 seeds.  The watermelons never grew, but omg the pumpkins took over and like M said, grew across the yard overnight lol!  Got a few good pumpkins which thrilled the boys. So I am laughing at the thought of Bobogirl  running around the yard trying to keep the pumpkin vine out of the lawnmower's path.  HA!

Otceb, hope you feel better soon!

Footballnut, in the bag for you tomorrow.

Zils, glad you got fully scanned... have everything crossed to hear great news on Thursday.

GrammaB, hope you feel better as well.

JSJ, Happy belated Birthday, hoping you are free from the nasty drains.

M, the gym sounds like a great idea, glad you had a great visit with Bec, but sorry it went by so fast.  I bet Dex is happy to have you back to himself ;)

NDgirl.. you are having the same weather as we are and I am just so over it... I think one more cold rainy day tomorrow.  Hopefully we'll be b!tching about hot humid weather soon.

Vintage, hope you are still doing well with the rads... brings back fond memories.. I gearing up for it this time last year.. seems so long ago!!  What antiques flea market dbo you go to?  Sounds like a great rainy day thing to do.. no good ones near me.

Hello to Wren, Dawny, sgc, Cdelv,  Linda and Spookiesmom.  Only went back a couple of pages.. hope Viv, Hollyboo, PRB, TB, Rambling Rose and Fia are doing well (and hope I didn't leave anybody out!!) and of course I always miss seeing Granwe!  Hugs and love to you all.

Rads are going ok, #7 today, saw rad onco after he said my skin looks fine (even though I am feeling the pings & pains like sunburn) I get the bolus every other day, see the dr once a week & get xray once a week.

I've done a color refresher mask (burgundy) on my little bit of hair. It gives it a purple hue. The male rad tech asked me if my hair grew back like that from chemo. HUH? Purple?! I kinda think he was serious.

I had my Herceptin infusion today. The nurse commented I lost weight. I told her, yes, cause I lost a couple breasts!

Idesim, I get most of my inventory at auctions but there's not as many as there used to be. On Sunday mornings in good weather we go down to Todd Farm in Rowley MA. Have you been there? We've hit Brimfield a few times but there's no deals, not for reselling. But it is fun. And a few other indoor antiques fleas here & there. (on FB my page is LKellsAntiques)

Hi again! Raining here, so I am back inside with the heating on.

ldesim, I am glad you got what I meant about the Pumpkins. I am sorry Bobo, shouldn't laugh, but if you didn't get a miniature variety, then you'll be amazed by the speed of these things!

Hi Vintage, gad to hear you're doing Ok with the Rads!

How funny, purple hair growing back after chemo! I had a laugh about the weight loss issue too. The nurse at my Surgeon's office told me I had lost weight just after my Surgery too, and then a few months later, she commented that I had put it back on again. She almost died of embarrassment when I started to look around behind me and lift my arms. I said "You're so right, but if I have gained it back, that boob must be here somewhere!"

I haven't been to any auctions here for a while, but there is a company called Star Auctions that go in and do whole estates. I went to a few when we first moved here and they were great. I especially like going to the ones on the farms where there is a lot of old farm equipment s well as everything else. I always feel a bit sad, when I see the family getting rid of everything  that was collected over a lifetime. I know a lot of stuff just doesn't suit our lifestyle today, so I hope that when it is sold, it goes to people who will cherish it like the previous owner did.

Back to the washing, it is a clotheshorse inside kinda day! x

Footballnut, In the bag for you tomorrow.

GrammaB, Sorry your ear isn't healing quickly. Seems to me that it takes longer when they burn it off.

Bobo, I think watermelons and pumpkins are good choices. Kids like things that grow quickly and noticeably. Think how exciting it will be to make halloween pumpkins with the ones they grew. I agree they're gonna spread, but so what. Less to mow.

I had my first baby kitten lesson yesterday. He was 1 week old, eyes and ears closed, and wiggled his ears when he ate. She fed him and I got to snuggle him to burp. It only took a few minutes, but she's one of the most experienced bottle baby volunteers.

I am in the bag also.

I know, birdie. Our idesim and our M are peeing themselves, but I am like: so what?  What do I have, a beautiful backyard to ruin?  I do not.  I have a backyard which is usually full of bobo and cat poopy piles.  Automatic fertilizer.

Ooooh, kitten duty!  I nursed two of my kitties: Edward and Miguel.  Both were tiny, and both were in pretty bad shape.  I love the burp story!

Have never had anything grow with any success in my life, so am amused by the stories of being overrun with produce.  Will put them in the ground this weekend.  Wish I had done lettuces, obviously, but I am not that together.

In the bag for Z's results.

round one of FEC. home and peeing red!! Lol. I was done in 90 minutes. The nurse told me that I might get a head rush or feel something in my sinuses. Well I do feel something in my head. It's weird. Feels a bit like pressure but not too bad. Other than that the port is still driving me nuts. I have percs for it but don't think I'll take it. I want to watch the hockey game and a perc will knock me out. Lol. They gave me a med for nausea before they started treatment and I have to take pills tonight and for the next few days. Neulasta shot tomorrow. Yippee!! Hope that all are good!!

Do benign papillomas turn cancerous?  I just had mine removed and she said the only reason was that there could be cancer hiding in or behind it that they couldn't see.  She specifically stated that it was not a sign of pre-cancer.  I'm just wondering since it sounds like you say you "caught" yours before it became cancer.

Hi Denegate!  I'm sorry.. but I don't know anything about that.. so I don't want to give you any wrong info.  Somebody will be along to chime in, hang on tight :)

Wren, wiggling his ears.. lol.. that is so sweet.  I didn't realize they needed to be burped... what a wonderful experience that had to have been.

lol Vintage, he probably was serious thinking you grew purple hair.  Rowley is somewhat near me, we'll have to visit it.. thanks for the info.. glad to hear that Rads are going ok so far.. it'll be over before you know it!!

M, I agree with you, Estate sales are pretty sad.  I still remember when we were house hunting and on two separate occasions we went to homes where the owner recently died and it made me sad to see their clothes hanging and shoes lined up in a closet.. hair brush on the dresser and just life's everyday mementos still laying around like their owners would be right back for them... it almost felt disrespectful.

Bobogirl, sorry for laughing, I think the kids are going to be thrilled with the garden... and I can't wait until you get an eyeful of it.. I just know your response will be entertaining.  It is lots of fun to see pumpkins!!!  hee hee.

Footballnut, I'm glad all the worrying about this is over for you now.. I remember how panicked I was before my first infusion.. it was awful!  I remember sitting in the chair munching on food they gave to me, laughing with DH  and couldn't believe how different the experience was to what I thought it would be.  Hope it goes easy on you, make sure to eat don't fight off the desire to nap!!

Nothing new on my end... just waiting for the weather to get better so I can putter around outside!

Hi Denegate, I am not sure which one of us you are asking, so I will jump in first. My Dx was Pure DCIS, after my final pathology, which is considered stage 0, or cancer that has not yet morphed, by definition into an invasive IDC.

I am no expert here, but as far as I am aware these Papilomas are always benign, and remain that way. They do check them out, because as you said, there can be sneaky cancer hiding within or behind. That was the concern for me with the Microcalcifications that showed up on my Mammo, then after further testing and a Biopsy, they found High Grade DCIS. They were also checking for any invasion and it wasn't till after the final pathology was in after my Mx that I got a result of Pure DCIS.

Your Dx is a very good one, which is benign. The papiloma itself was not going to be an issue for you, only if other cells were discovered within or around it.

I wish you all the very best!

ldesim, posting at the same time! I like that!

I am sorry too Bobo, for laughing,, you know it is all in jest! I still want to see the reaction to the amazing growth that will happen! I had no idea you had a big yard, I thought it was a courtyard with no room to grow anything. It will be great!

Footballlnut, look at you! I love to see who we are talking to. You look so relaxed there. I am glad it went ok and you're home. Enjoy the game and rest well! M x

Wren, I had no idea that you have to burp a kitty either. You'll be an expert at it in no time!

Well it is absolutely freezing this morning, I have to retire the cotton waffle robe and bring out the cozy warm one. There aren't going to be too many more warm mornings.

Off to the Opp Shop to see my friend and hopefully, this morning, the men from there will be up to remove the last of the boxes and the renovation bits and bobs that are left over from the garage sale. I am looking forward to getting it all cleared away and then I can start the renovation of the boat shed. It hasn't been empty since we moved in.

Take it easy everyone, I will check back later....M x

Oh, how I miss you all!  I am still down for the count since my final chemo last Wednesday.  I thought I would be so much better by now, but it this recuperation has been so slow!  I just wish I could figure out how to make myself feel better!  Any suggestions?  I am so over feeling awful!  Storms finally made it to southern VA.  The dreary weather is matching my mood!   Hope all are well and I'm in the bag for whomever needs me! S
