Shouting out to SGC and football. I don't know if my advice is any good... I think you should keep resting!
M and Idesim, I don't mind that you are laughing! I was trying for **righteous indignation.** We have an okay yard in back... however, if pumpkins and watermelon take over, it's going to be difficult to get around. I would not hold your breath, though. I am not the most experienced gardener.
Idesim, it is not warm? It is 1000 degrees here already. In the bag for Z's results tomorrow. X

Sgc, aww sorry you are still feeling tough, but can only imagine it will take quite some time after chemo, I can give no advice to this but others will sure jump in to help. I saw there was a railcar explosion in VA, sure hope you arent close,, it was carring oil, that happened in ND with all our oil traveling by rail.
Bobo, I am not laughing!! sounds fun, you know if you dont want too many pumpkins you can always pinch off some of the blossums and then the pumpkins that have already started with get extra big!! and not so many vines running, but hey who cares?? I wish I could grow watermelons we dont have a long enough growing season, and if it doesnt warm up here pretty soon we will have an even shorter one!! sigh!

Sorry about the incorrect spelling, darn ipad,, blossom, and carrying... geez

blossom?! I'm lost! :-) I'm with you, nd, I hate typing on an iPad, I use our laptop anytime I can to post on these boards. And that's why I still have the stupid Crackberry, it now has a mind of its own but I keep it for email and I know I would hate typing on an iPhone.
sgc, sorry you're having a rough time! Zills always has the best advice. Maybe just try drinking a bit of ginger ale, sitting/resting, and relaxing. I hate that feeling, I can't wait for you to feel better! You've gone through enough! We're all thinking about you!
denegate, sorry I don't know anything about this, Ariom seems to have given you good info.
footballnut, thanks for the picture, you rock that chemo chair! LOL Yes, just take it easy, it's important to rest even if you feel fine at first (good advice from my nurse). I was feeling queasy for the first 4 days, I was just drinking sips of water (but drink as much as you can), ginger ale or Perrier, eating the typical easy to digest stuff (toast, crackers, chicken soup), and then I was feeling fine the other days. I think you're on the chemo boards too, so you probably heard all the advice about rinsing regularly with baking soda & water to prevent mouth sores (I did that the first few days after infusions and never got sores), using Biotene toothpaste, etc. Good luck!
M, I love that you mentioned cotton waffle robes, it reminds me of going to the spa! Ah, it's been such a long time...
wren, that baby kitten lesson sounds like it was soooo cute! How is Goldie doing?
idesim, so good to read you! It's May (in a few hrs), we're bound to get nice weather someday, no? It's not all for bobo and spookie, right?! I think flowers & leaves here are late blooming, my vine has no sign of green yet, our big maples on the street are bare and barely shedding some of those green flowers, and the flower buds of my azalea have not changed in 2 weeks...
vintage, good luck with the rest of rads this week! I'm glad herceptin went well. Yeah, we've shed pounds, woohoo! I just wish we could redistribute the weight from elsewhere!
bobo, will the pumpkins end up in the Vitamix?! I'm sure you'll find lots of recipes for them!
gB, I'm glad the banks are holding to the open gates! Sending you healing hugs for your ear.
zills, in the bag for your results!
All good here, it's incredible how our bodies can bounce back and our willpower just make us go through our days sometimes. Anyway, I'm glad to be feeling well. I need this since we need to get the house sorted in some magical way this weekend: new hardwood floors are being installed next week! It will be a mess the whole week since we're doing 2 levels, so we'll move stuff to the basement and to our 3rd floor (we're in a narrow semi). The installers will move the bigger pieces around. We'll be happy when it's done though, we currently have the original floors of the house (those narrow slats that looked good at some point) that are all dry and separating, and carpet that can't be cleaned anymore in other parts of the house. After living through a basement reno where we ended up having to redo the foundation last year, this little work should be a breeze to live through. 1 week of mess versus 3 months, and definitely not as much $!
Good night!

Football nut, nice chair with a nice view out the window! The Nulasta shot never bothered me, but for some it does. Then you need to take the NON drowsy Claratin. They don't know why it helps with bone pain, the ladies here say it does.
Yep, gotta turn the a/c on soon. Spookie and I are hot. Bought a new fan today, put by my bed to blow on my head.

Hi Spookiesmom, How funny you should mention a fan for your head. I just saw an ad for a thing called a "Chillow", it is a cool gel pillow for people who have problems withtheir head feeling hot at nigh. I had never seen or heard of these before.
otceb! I am glad you're doing well, just don't overdo it!
How exciting, getting your new floors in. I know it is a pain for a little while. but how beautiful they will be when they are finished. When we renovated this house we removed all the thick wool carpets, which just gobbled Colin's wheelchair up when he tried to push through the rooms with carpet. We ended up keeping all the Indian slate, but put wide boards of a local timber called Wormy Chestnut down where the carpets had been. It worked really well. We had the timber oiled instead of the polyurethane that we had used in our other house. I absolutely love the timber and the man who laid it is such a lover of wood he told us the story of every type of mark in the timber when he laid it. There were spots where bugs had lived in it, and then there were marks where bush fires had left their marks and the knot holes of the trees. It was such a great lesson to listen to someone so passionate about his craft. We left a large figured piece in the center of Colin's office floor, which looks really lovely.
nd, I have been wearing the Contact every day for about a week now and really like it. Isn't that weird? I didn't like it at first, but now I am really getting used to it. I don't really like the reptile pattern that the nodules leave at night when I take it off. Colin has taken to calling me "Snake Woman!"
Bobo, my lovely one! I did think it was "Righteous Indignation", but it easy to get it wrong when it is written, and not spoken! You know we would never hurt, on purpose:-)
What else are you up to? I haven't had a kid story for a while, how are they doing, and what are they up to? M x

A I've heard of that Chillow, am thinking of getting one. We don't have central a/c and it quite toasty in my room. Maybe it would help with the hot flash/night sweats from the arimadex.

Fla, loved it!

Thanks for the link Fia, I loved it too!
Come back soon, we miss you! M x
Spookiesmom, I haven't heard of anyone using one of these. My problem is hot feet. I sleep most of the time with my feet out the side of the bed. We have always had overhead fans, but when we moved here, the exposed beams prevented us having one above our bed and I would go nuts if t had to be placed to one side. I can't deal with it not being symmetrical, funny that I don't care about only having one breast though! LOL M x

Hello to all and hate that some are going through patch right now. I am so thankful I don't have to worry about the chemo/rads. The last two drains are gone and all is healing well. My sil arrived Sunday and we have been on the go ever since. Monday, we went to the thrift stores and I found an entire summer wardrobe for less that $40.00. Not to bad at all! Tuesday, I spent all but about 3 hours in bed. I was exhausted. Yesterday we took my mom to Hobby Lobby and had a great time. She may be my mother, but it is like taking a two year old to the store! Today we are taking Sailman lunch and going to Groom, TX to see the Cross. If you have time, google it and you will see how amazing a display it truly is. Tomorrow Bobo` the pumpkins will take over if not careful, but they are so fun to grow and watch. We had a garden several years back and between the pumpkins and cucumbers, it was an experience. You might also take the end of the celery stalk and place in water You can root it and grow it that way. I have one in my kitchen window that is getting huge and should have been planted, but I love the greenery and the scent from the celery. I am sorry I haven't checked in lately, I spent the morning just now reading back to the 26th. Thank you all for the lovely b-day wishes. I am in the bag for whoever needs. Hoping the weather on the east coast settles down and that it warms up for our northern sisters. There is so much more I want to comment on but my sil is up and time for us to get going. I think of you all each day and keep you each in my heart. Hugz to you all!

Get the party started! I'm dancing with stable boy and going steady with Ned.
No new growth. MO in three months, RO in six months. Referral to PS about fat grafting. Not interested in tram. Changing a/d to see if can get out of funk.

Let's get this party started INDEED. I hereby promise I will be drinking two beers straight down at the party.
Oh, all you doomsday prophesy-ers who think I will be overrun with pumpkins! Little do you know. I will most likely inadvertently kill those plants. Or bobo will trample them. Or they will be over-watered. Stand by.
Fia, feel better! Had to yank our princess out of the Waldorf. It was just too casual an environment for her. She was not safe. There were several instances I observed, and then, finally, it was enough. So I have her on my own for an extra five weeks before summer starts. But I am still working somehow. Grades due tomorrow.
Gotta run! X

hi all
The infusion wasn't too bad. Quite busy at I had a visit from the pharmacist and nutritionalist. A friend of ours also works in radiation so she came to visit as well. It is nicer to sit by the window for sure and my nurse us crazy!! Live him!!
Last night was not good! Nausea and vomited twice. Couldn't even watch the game but I heard it. I lay on the couch with a blanket over my head and a cold compress. My DH cooked salmon and chicken which gagged me!! Can't even stand the thought of celery right now!!
Today seems a bit better. Am eating normally but tired now. My nurse is coming in approx a half hour to give me the shot. I have not been told about the Claritin other than hearing about it from women on the board so I've left a message with the pharmacy to see what they have to say
Ugh!!

Zills, What wonderful news!!! What is a/d?
Bobo, Bobo trampling the plants is the most likely demise. We bought a pear tree with different varieties grafted on the trunk. Our dog, Kiko, took a dislike to it and ripped it apart. We stuck it back together and all but one lived. We have no idea which limb is which now. DH has the green thumb in our house. A lumber company gave away finger sized fir sprouts one arbor day. It grew about 4 feet in a container and we used it for a Christmas tree. Then the top froze. DH put it on Craig's List and it was snapped up by a man trying to screen his house from distant neighbors.
I need to find another place to paint. My art table (old computer desk) is in a corner with windows on east and south sides. Goldie is now asleep in the patch of sunlight. I keep picking hair out of my paint in class and choose to blame her.
Ariom, My GS sleeps with a cold water bottle wrapped in a towel on his pillow. I've looked at the chillow and thought about trying it because I like cold pillows too. Maybe try the water bottle for your feet? You'd have to find a way to keep it off Colin. I've been know to wake up during the night and stick my feet out from under the covers.

Oh FootBall, you had it rough right off the bat huh. Did you get pre meds via IV? That helps tremendously then of course taking the RX soon as you have any twinge of nausea.
I used to have to drive all the way back to Dover next day for the Neulasta shot. Nice to have a nurse come to you! Woo! I took the Claritan. Did it help? I don't know, cause it really seemed like the shot kicked my butt bad for the next two days.
Hang in there!

a/d is anti depressant. Switching from Effexor to celexa. Said I could just change over, no weaning. Pray for no SEs. No one seems to take the fatigue seriously. Even if I drink 20 oz of coffee, I can still nap.
ND. I came home and took a two hour nap. I even slept last night thanks to 1/2 an x. RO said water aerobics or water jogging and maybe LE will go away in a year.
Football nut. My first time was the worst. I think it was more the fear of the unknown. Still didn't allow much cooking in house, hid in the bedroom during dinner the first couple of days.
Glad you can eat. Stay on top of meds, drink. Ginger tea worked for me or smelling peppermint. Just throw up and get it over with. I always felt better for doing so. Then cross that food off your list.

Zills! I am so happy for you! Dancing with NED!!!!! Best news I have heard for ages!
I can vouch for water aerobics, I did it for years and years for arthritis, there is something about the water that just makes you feel good and depending how hard you go at it, it's a great workout and toning exercise!
Hugs to you!

Footballnut, I am so sorry you had such a lousy night with this chemo. I hope you feel better and this is the worst it gets. Take it easy!
Hi ldesim! Great news eh! Hi Dawny, Spookiesmom, Vintage and ndgirl! I hope you're all well!
Hi Wren, I have a hot water bottle that I have used for my Hot Feet issue, and sometimes it can be so bad that I take a spray bottle of water to keep at the side of the bed. I turn the fan of the the Air Con on and spray! It really is a weird problem, I am pretty sure it is linked to the inflammation of the RA. My Mother had exactly the same thing.
Sorry about the hair, but I am so glad Goldie has found a patch of sun, and I can tell you really don't mind! Sweet Goldie!
Well I am off to the Pink Ladies meeting today, I got a call to say there are possibly 2 newbies coming today. I say possibly, because they often don't turn up because of nerves.
Anyway, I am going to get the TimTams and will check back later......M x

I reply to myself. Love the hair in paint story, birdie. By all means: rent yourself some studio space. Obviously Goldie needs to remain in that patch of sun.
I think Goldie is our team mascot!
