Hey everyone! Not much to report. Up to my neck with the princess here at home, plus still working somehow. Proper babysitting starts next week. Meantime, I'm juggling. Garlic grits sounds wonderful. Just made a curry for supper with fresh tomatoes and light coconut milk.
0 -
Hi there! nd, How are you doing? Wren, Hi! and Bobo, the curry sounds yum!
Thinking about you in the tiny house, what are you going to do with the Princess? Is she going to join our W?
How are you doing? Is everything feeling better now?
It's gone very quiet here, is everyone just out enjoying better weather.
Hugs to everyone, thinking about you! M x

princess going to rock music camp again? I think we enjoyed hearing about it as much as she did attending.
Threw up last night. It's a spectator sport at my house. Does ripe bananas do that to anyone else?
Boy making progress at swim lessons:)
Found a tomato plant at warehouse club that already had tomatoes on it. Might be ripe enough for tacos tonight. Avocados are.
Does quinoa grow like rice?
School pix this am. They are running around like banshees. Wish I could have some of that energy.
Loved my bc yoga class. Not sure if I have enough umph to go today but instructor out next week.
Was asked to be bc poster child at local event. Hair, makeup, outfit, dinner. Get to keep outfit. Unfortunately it's while I'm in Ireland. D@mn.
Irish tea finally kicking in. Lunches to make and children to corral.
Have a good one!

Hi everyone! I've been reading, but haven't had time to post. Wren, that is a lot of tomatoes!! Good to see you posting bobo. In the bag for anyone that needs it. I'm thinking of you all!
I've been dealing with a sick cat the past few days. Runny stool with blood in it, vomitting, and then he stopped eating. We've been to the vet twice this week already and have an appt for Friday that I can cancel if he gets better. He's had antibiotic shots, anti nausea shots and today he got a steroid shot and metacholpramide (?) which is supposed to correct the functioning of his colon. The vet could just barely hear any sounds in his gut which should have been growling as I took away his food at midnight last night and the water at 10AM today per instructions. They thought they may be doing ex-rays today that is why no food/water. If these meds don't work Friday will be ex-rays and blood work. Poor guy he is so listless and sad. Add to that he hates getting in the crate!!
He gets reoccurring eosinophilic ulcers 2-3 times a year. They have been either in his mouth or on a foot to this point. The jury is out as to whether it could be them in his colon. I sure hope not!!
It has been an exhausting few days and he's not out of the woods yet.
Hugs for everyone!!

Good to see you GB, busy is good! sorry about your cat, hope things turn around for him.
Zills, are kids getting better? you would have made a wonderful poster child!! but Ireland will be better for you.
Well this gloomy rainy weather is enough to drive me to drinking!!! and the wine bottle is empty! now it seem our social life for the next few days will be going to funerals... Friday, dh's cousins wife ( she was very old and ready to go) Sat. friend's 50 year old daughter died of heart attack... so sad, Monday another neighbor/friend who was older too. This is just unbelievable. The old timer's used to say things like this happen in 3's.. so enough now. Then yesterday hubby's brother almost didnt make it.. heart attack day before and stent put in, but he is now home but very tired!
Sorry to be such a downer, as if it isnt bad enough that we havent seen any sun all week.. I need my sunshine, just feel like a wilted plant. But gotta get busy and make some food to take to these families.
"Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me"! granddaughter sing this song all the time.
Wishing you all well, will catch up later,

Ndgirl, Oh my gosh. All those funerals and no sun too! I would be down too. I have often thought I was a sunflower in a previous life. My Dad always said things came in threes, so here's hoping that's the end. Funerals for the old are bad enough but it's awful for a child of any age. Hugs.

(((ndgirl))) wow, so sorry for all the losses! Yes, let's hope it is just these three and then done for a long while.

Hello everyone 1c here this morning, but clear skies and still water.
I have been really busy too, but had a read through to catch up.
Zills, you are amazing, the things you get done! What a shame you can't be the Poster Girl, you'd have been perfect for it, but the trip to Ireland is going to be fantastic.
gB, so sorry to hear of all you're going through with your cat, I hope it has improved!
ndGirl, always in 3's, my Mother always pointed that out. I am so sorry you have so many funerals to go to. I know just what you mean about the sunshine. It is so cold this morning, but I can handle the cold, if it isn't dull and grey too!
I nearly have the house in complete order, I have been at it on and off since the yard sale and I have made serious progress.
Yesterday I hooked on the Winter Doona, we use Doonas or quilts inside decor covers on our beds and we have a duo one which has both summer weight and winter weight which zip down the middle so you can add or subtract for the warmth level of both of us. The light airy doona covers are all put away now, for next year, so the bedroom is all changed to cozy Winter mode, now. Yesterday I hooked on the Winter, to the summer for both of us, which was unusual, I usually just have the Winter on my side and Colin, who is always cold, has both. I think it is going to be a long cold Winter! M x

Ooooh, there's a lonely cricket chirping here!
Bucketing down here and the leaves are all changing, and dropping fast. There's the smell of woodsmoke in the air as everyone has their open fires lit early in the day. It is grey and bleak looking, but not too cold.
Yesterday I swept up leaves from the Fig tree and today there are twice as many on the ground, next door's Oak and Maple are starting to show up in my yard already. They had their Cypress Hedge trimmed yesterday by 2 men in a Cherry Picker, I wish they'd get someone to sweep their leaves!
No sailing today, it just may be a movie, and sit on the couch eating chocolate kinda day!
Hugs to everyone...I hope you're all out enjoying the Spring SunshineM x

It's raining, it's pouring, I want to be snoring. Instead I'm going to exercise at the Y. Gives the kids something to do. DH working.
Teacher appreciation week over. Went out with GFs last night to celebrate Mother's Day with our adopted mom. Did some shopping while out.
Found a cute two piece set by Sag Harbor. Tank can be worn alone and it has plenty of coverage and distraction. Sweater? Is airy. Would like to find more. Need pants but have gained weight:(
Next week going to help box up library and computer lab. His school is switching buildings. BC yoga is cancelled next week. Play date on Monday, bc support group Tuesday night and field day Thursday. No appts:) Maybe I can get caught up on paperwork and filing.
Will coerce kids into helping clean for play date on Monday. Washing bedclothes now.
Poopy diaper calling. Happy Saturday.

Z! Posting at same time. M, I don't know what we're going to do with schools. Looking now. Z, OF COURSE she is doing Feminist Separatist Girls Rock Camp! In fact, this year's poster is a picture of her 'taking the mic.' Email me privately if you would like a copy! Obviously I feel it is the best picture ever invented.
So sorry for the losses, ND. It does seem right about the three's. And so sorry GB, about your kitty. It's terrible when animals are sick.
M, I cannot believe it is winter at your house. I just can't understand it! It is getting really hot here. ND, why don't you come for a visit? You will get plenty warm. And -- wait a minute -- could you take a sauna? Ooh. That's a good idea, I think. Maybe it would warm you up and make you not miss the sun so much?
I have been having 'issues' with my 'area.' Plus I am full-time mother this week with the princess. Next week the babysitter starts. Kisses to everyone. XXX

I'm so glad it is helping you. Sometimes I wonder if Lyrica is for me, but as long as Neurontin is working, I'll keep the idea of Lyrica in my back pocket. Sometimes I double up on the dose and feel like I'm too spacey. But there's no pain I'm aware of. Hugs!

I love you, Bobogirl. You inspire me. Hugs! Rock on.

my shape is interesting these days. Belly. Butt. Both on the large size. I'm trying on clothes from last year, as summer is looming and I'm having trouble finding new clothes. I probably have enough clothes in my closet that fit, so I will wait to buy stuff. Clothes I like in the catalog are so expensive! I love cute sundresses and try to buy a few each year. But $59? No way! Between muddy paws and ice cream drips, the dresses have to be cheap and rugged - like me!

hi Moira! I envy you that the cool season and wood smoke fragrance is upon you! I'm clinging to the spring as long as possible. Today it is foggy and cool-muggy. Tomorrow it is supposed to be sunny and 80 degrees. Oy

Hi Bobo and Zills!
I was just thinking about going to bed and there you both are!
You are both so busy, I still haven't gotten it together to get to the gym yet and I am doubting this cold weather that has set in, is going to give me the incentive to go.
I am sorry you're having issues with your area Bobo, I hope it is something that will pass.
I am so pleased that the Princess is going to the Music Camp again, that was such a success last time.
Zills, it's good to see you out with your GFs and doing some clothes shopping. Sorry about the poopy diaper!
Have a great weekend ladies! M x

Hey wirdgirl, how are you? Long time.......
I love that smell of woodsmoke too and I don't blame you for wanting to keep it Spring, what a lovely season that is.
You're thinking sundresses and I have just done the wardrobe changeover. No more light clothing for me and I am back into warm socks and Ugg Boots already!
I am off to bed now, chat later! M x

Flaranch, That is so funny.
It's 50F here right now with a projected high of 60F. I'm taking Goldie to a
slave marketadoption event. I fear we won't have any people there. One suburb is having a cat show for purebred cats and another is having the 'Average Joe Cat Show' which I would much rather attend. They have a foster parent who takes Mom + kittens to foster in a special room which has a live cam. He gives them names that go together, the spice kittens, the Russian astronauts, etc. The link was publicized in People magazine and in newspapers in the UK. He has viewers from Australia to Europe to Middle East. They make friends kind of like we do here and about 20 decided to come for the show, including one from Perth. They were on the news last night and front page of the paper this morning. If anyone is interested, the shelter link is purrfectpals.org.0 -
Hi everyone!
Well Boo is not much better. Friday the vet gave him a shot of Convenia which is supposed to keep him from getting constipated, and a shot of Vit B12 which is supposed to stimulate his appetite. Sent me home with probiotics to sprinkle on his food. He also had a temp on Friday, but his gut sounds were much better. He came home and ate a little more than he has been the past week so I was hopeful. He nibbled a bit in the evening and I had hopes of seeing some poo in his box this morning, but alas, no. ( He's quite, with moments of being very normal. I don't know if he is in pain or not, I sure hope not!! It's killing me that he isn't getting better.
50°F here, cloudy and raining. Whole weekend is supposed to be rainy.
wirdgirl, nice to see you again!
Fia, that is priceless!!
Zills, glad you had a good time with GFs. Isn't fun when you find a new piece of clothing that is suitable? Lately, when I have, I have gone back and bought it in almost every color available!!
bobo, great to hear the Princess is going to music camp again!! How exciting she is on the poster! Sorry you are having problems with your "area" hope things get better quickly.
Ariom, sorry you haven't been able to make time for the gym. In years past the same thing would happen to me. I finally gave up on memberships and bought an elliptical and weights and bands and just do it here at home. I wish I was heading into Winter instead of Summer, even though last Winter was brutal. I am just not a warm weather person.
Wren, does that mean that Goldie may be adopted??? NOOOOOOOOO!!! She's our mascot!! But I know you would find her the best possible home if she has to leave you.
Hugs for everyone!!

Just wanted to pop in and wish all the mom a Happy Mother's Day. Finally have Spring here and am doing my best to overdo it on a daily basis
Love you all... big hugs.

Goldie is still the mascot. One couple took my name and phone, so perhaps they'll call tomorrow. They had another cat to look at.
0 -
Happy Mother's Day too, to all of the Mothers and to everyone's Mothers!
Oooh Wren, I don't want Goldie to go!
Hi ldesim, so glad you're overdoing it and enjoying it! I envy your Spring, have fun!
gB, sorry there isn't much improvement yet. I hope you have some better news tomorrow.
I would swap you the weather if I could!
Hello Fia, great to see you...very funny, but true!
I took Dex on a big walk this morning, the Farmers Market was on and the beach was quite busy with Mother's Day events. On the way home, I ran into Mary, my massage therapist, so I invited her to lunch. I made soup in the Vitamix and had it with chicken breast and warm Olive Bread...Yum.
Bec called to wish me a happy Mother's Day and we ended up having a really stupid argument.......Daughters, go figure!
All the best everyone...M x

Happy Mothers Day to all!
Aww, Ariom sorry to hear about the argument , as I like to call it " the traditional mother/daughter dance" happens a lot, or at least it did with me and my mom, but we always worked it out as I am sure you and Bec did.
Good to see fia again.
Well two funerals down and one to go, yesterday was the hard one but a friend invited us out for supper and we had fun and today a birthday party for sil, so some fun going on with the sadness, that is life. We has sunshine for a couple of days now back to rain...grrr.
Enjoy the day everyone!

Good Morning all Happy Mother's Day!
Thanks nd, it's over, she called later and it was all over! Usually the way for us, it never lasts long, but wow, we can both fire up!
Gld to hear there was a little bit of fun after the sadness of the funerals. One more to go, I hope the sun shines!
Beautiful cool sunny day here. It is supposed to be a good week, weather wise, so I can start on the leaves in the garden. It's good exercise, isn't it?LOL
I have to go into town today to have ID certified by a Police Officer, pain in the proverbial! I bought Bec 2 handbags and had them delivered to her, but the company accidentally put my name to her address and the staff at the Post Office where it is being held is refusing to let Bec pick it up and insisting that only I can retrieve it. We have tried to reason with them, to no avail, it is a bloody stupid standoff, so hopefully I can sort it out without the parcel being sent back to the US. It is amazing just how much stress something as petty as this can bring on.
Take it easy everyone and enjoy the end of the weekend, love and hugs to all the Mothers! M x

Happy Mother's Day All!!
At last Boo is on the mend! I got up early (for me) at 8AM as it was pouring rain outside and I had some open windows that needed to be closed. I peeked at his box and was greeted with a near normal pooh!! Phew! This has really been stressing me out, I didn't realize how much. I went back to bed and slept like a rock until almost noon!!
Dreary weather, but that's OK by me as long as Boo continues to improve!!
Waving hi to everyone with hugs too!
0 -
Great news gB! I am glad you got a good rest too! M x

Hello! I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day!
gB, I'm glad Boo is better.
M, sorry it's cold and you have all these leaves to rake. And what's up with that ID check? Wow, they really pay attention to parcel info!
Hi bobo & Zills! Read quickly, seems like you're both ok, busy with kids and all.
Hi Wren, I hope the "adoption event" was ok, Goldie is staying with you though I hope?
nd, sorry about all your losses and all those funerals. Glad you enjoyed some sunshine finally, you were overdue! It's been gorgeous here lately, but rain is forecasted for the whole week!
Hi fiaranch, thanks for another good thought!!
footballnut, I hope you're well. Is your next chemo this week?
jsj, I hope your recovery is still going well? Are you doing the exercises yet to get your range of motion back?
Vintage, I hope rads are ok and you're still rocking it!
All good here. Went to a focus group last week on peer support for reconstruction, but of course, the conversation veered toward overall support for BC, etc. I mentioned I have sweet sisters on BCO, and how you have been tremendous all along! Thanks again! I'm not even in the reconstruction frame of mind, I know this will be next year so have not even thought about details yet.
We got the new floors installed last week, phew! They look great, and the small area of carpet we had (stairs and 2nd level hallway) that is now hardwood looks amazing, I never thought I would be impressed by a hallway! Anyway, it's been hectic to say the least, with moving EVERYTHING out of the 2 levels, then cleaning, then putting everything back. We just finished an hour ago, we're beyond exhausted! We did take time today to go for a wonderful bike ride with DS, stopping at the beach, at parks, for ice cream, etc. Just a beautiful afternoon where we felt normal and happy, yeah!
Last chemo is this Thursday, my mother arrives on Friday and will stay for 5 days to help out. Quite glad based on the bad experiences I have had with my last 2 chemos.
Hugs to everyone!

otceb, great to see you! I bet you're so glad that flooring is finished and everything is back in place. I can imagine you going back for another look at your favorite parts of it, I still find myself putting my head to the side to look at the glow of the timber when the light catches it. I just love my floors!LOL
Last Chemo this week, oh, I am so pleased for you. I'm in the bag if you need me. It will be good to have your Mother to help out. Let's just hope that this one isn't anything like the others and you can rest up and put it behind you! Hugs....M x
