otceb, yay for the last chemo!! I'm in the bag for you!

Beautiful blue sky day here today.  55°F outside and lots of birds chirping away!

Boo is even better today.  Very normal "deposit" in his box this morning.  :))

    Hugs for everyone!

Great news gB! I am so glad Boo is improving!

It is cold, but beautiful here today. We are supposed to go sailing at lunch time, but I have a really sore hip. Don't know if it is a bit of an arthritis flare, or bone pain from these shitful bone meds, so I may opt out of the sailing because as sunny as it is, it could be bitter out on the water.

    I hope you all have a nice evening..take care M x

GB, good to hear Boo is better, amazing what a little poop will do! So you have clear skies,, well it hasnt reached here yet, very chilly and misty. But on a brighter note,, the spring birds have arrived, the orioles are eating grape jelly like mad and the red breasted gross beaks are here for a couple of weeks then they are off. Have not spotted a hummingbird yet but a friend has seen them so they are in the country and only seen a few goldfinches but they will descend on me soon.. love this time of year.

Ariom, hope your pain does not last long, my bones have been aching too but I blame it on this horrible weather we have.. saw where Denver had snow!! yuck. I chuckle when you can still sail while getting ready for winter!

Otc.. hope all is well and glad your mom is there to help... your new floors sound wonderful.. I love my wood floor too but sometimes it is cold so need slippers!! Take it easy, so glad you are soon done.

    Hi to all.

    Hello Ladies!

I know that I have been off the grid for a few weeks now.  I was a mess from that last infusion!  I am just starting to feel human again!  Thank goodness that is over.  I start the Herceptin infusions again on Thursday, but they aren't a big deal.  The only SE's are being hot and insomnia!  A walk in the park as I like to say.  Speaking of hot, it hit 90 here in southeastern Virginia today and looks like tomorrow will be even warmer!  Feels like we missed spring and went right to summer! (Could I have possibly missed it?) The pollen has been unbelievable!  My silver SUV looks like it has a yellow topcoat!  Even the dog is sneezing!

I hope all you moms had a great Mother's Day this past weekend!  Yes, the fur baby moms too!  So happy to hear that Boo is feeling better, GrammaB!  Ariom, I hope you got to go out on the water and your hip is feeling better!  It does seem odd to think that you are moving into cold weather there.  (My birthday is in July and I don't know how I would feel celebrating it in the cold as it has always been hot and I have always been on the beach.)  OTC, I am in the bag, if you need me.  It is so wonderful that you have your mom to help.  Praying that this last one will have minimal SE's!  Zills, thank you for the lovely card!  That was the only thing that made me smile.  You said I could do it and you were right!  You are an angel!

I hope everyone else is doing okay.  I haven't even gone back to read all the posts I have missed as my brain is still a bit off as my DH likes to say.  Just know that I am thinking about you all and am sending you my best wishes.  Will post now as it is getting late.  Always, S

Hi sgc, nice to see you back, but so sorry you've had a rough time. I hope that is all behind you now.

I am a July baby too, funny that! I can't imagine it being warm on my Birthday! I drive a Silver 4 wheel drive too!LOL

I didn't go out on the boat today, but Colin did. I don't know how it has been because it doesn't look like there has been a breath of wind. They might be late getting back this evening.

I have been playing around with photos today. I did a panorama shot from the bedroom. Colin has this new computer program that stitches the pictures together in no time. I will try to post one of them to show you this amazing stitching together process of about 6 photos.

Hi nd, sorry you're aching too, I hope you get some of that good weather soon and it warms your bones!

Those birds sound divine, I saw a huge Sea Eagle on the weekend and we have more and more Pelicans arriving for the Winter. The Black Swans are here too, Dex still gives them a wide berth, he's not too brave and they scare him!

Take it easy ladies..... chat later M x

Good Morning, just a quick one this morning as I have to get ready for a get together this morning. The Waratahs, which is the longest standing BC group in the area, is having a luncheon today that our little group has been invited to. A few of us are going, so it will be nice to catch up with the others that we usually only see at Christmas when we attend their Celebrations.

A big group of these girls are going to Malaysia soon for the Dragon Boat races, There is a big group of them that seem to travel all year for this Dragon Boat competition. One of the girls keeps trying to get me to be involved, but to be honest, I just couldn't commit. There is training and weekend competitions and they go overseas at least 3 times a year. I couldn't leave Colin that much, and I just don't enjoy traveling that much these days, either.

I hope all is well and everyone is getting good weather, I will check back later...M x

    Hiya Ariom!

Rads are going ok, RO said today the redness etc is *appropriate* for mid way.  And the 100% aloe isn't irritating my sensitive skin at all like the other creams.

I am hitting the gym 3-4 days a week before going to rads.

Today I started a new garden. My son bought me a Japanese maple for Mother's Day so that little tree needed a place & well, lilies had to be dug out & moved & rocks moved, & perennials had to be bought & a truck load of mulch too...LOL all cause of that little tree!

I am sporting my 3 month itty bitty chemo hair out in public now! And it is still purple. We went on the motorcycle Sunday. I took my helmet off Sunday before going into the restaurant & thought PFFT! It is warm out & I am secure enough to go in there with no hat or scarf...& my tight Harley shirt with my mini foobs LOL Felt good.

Oh Vintage, you bring a smile to my face. I am so pleased to hear how well you're doing. You are amazing! That gym regime is fabulous considering you're doing Rads, which should be making you fatigued.

I am looking at the Japanese Maple I have in a pot, it is fiery red right now and starting to lose its leaves. I have a much larger one outside that it starting to show signs of the Autumn too. Colin does, or at least used to do, Bonzai, we had a beautiful Japanese Maple that he had grown over a beautiful rock, but somehow it didn't make it here in the move. They are the loveliest trees and you'll get lots of joy in watching the changes they go through with the seasons.

Good for you, that you are letting your hair down, so to speak. I love the idea of the purple and that outfit sounds great too. Enjoy! M x

    Hi All ,

Hope all of you that are mothers (and fur baby mothers) had a great day !!  I have stayed away (though reading all posts) until I can get my act together somewhat . Tomorrow is the dreaded MO appointment. I am sure given my joint pain scans are due .  I have been reflecting a lot lately . First I was pissed to hit the cancer lottery (BC again and lymph node cancer at the same time) now I am rationalizing it saying it was the wake up call I needed to live "in the moment".  Here is Today's Random Thought......................

In the bag Fia. Yes we all need to live in the moment. Not easy to remember to do. We are here for the good, the bad, and the ugly. Don't have to worry about us. We get it.

Glad vintage and SGC and OTC are on the mend in time for hot weather. It's been hot and humid here too. Heard the possibility of frost for sat. Hope my tomato plant makes it.

    Nd. Sorry about your losses.

    GrammaB. Glad boo is better.

    M. My bday in July and my SUV is silver too. How interesting.

Bc support group tonight. Staying in town to do shopping for me. I need everything but bras;). Boy hid my bag in his closet while I was brushing me teeth. Blamed it on the baby. Then hid in my car. Nice to be loved.

Have a good night. It's a full moon.

Hi girls! It's a teeth chattering sunny morning here! Can't wait till the frost burns off and the day becomes one of those "amazing light" Autumn days, what is that with the change in the light, I just love it?

Fia, great words, again! Living in the moment should be everyone's mantra! Although I didn't get the bad Dx that so many of you did, it shocked me into living in the moment and not sweating the small stuff so much any more. I have everything crossed for a good result for you. I am in the bag if you need me, as always!

Just had a call from one of my BFF's and she's on the way right now for a Mammogram and Ultrasound, for a lump she found on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for her today. She has had some awful health issues and so has her Husband. Hearing this and the fear in her voice has given me the same awful feeling I had for my own call back, that F, shitful roller coaster feeling.

I am off to see my gorgeous friend, at the Opp Shop, this morning, it is Thursday already, gosh the days just rocket past. I am hoping she may have better news this week.

I finally found and won, the Giant Clam Shell I have been searching for. I saw it at the weekend on Ebay and was determined to get it, so 2 of us were slogging it out for a couple of days, but I got it! I have wanted one of these forever and just never got the right size, or more importantly the right price. It is in the suburb of Melbourne where another of my girlfriends lives, so she will pick it up for me, and hopefully I can get it picked up by another friend who is going down to Melbourne, to look at a new boat on Saturday. Hopefully I'll have it soon, oh by the way, it is just the final decor item I have been searching for, to go with my shell collection.

Zills, give the boy a hug from me, I love, that he loves you so much!

I hope the meeting was fun and the sleepover in town and the shopping are just what you need! Enjoy it!

I hope that Tomato makes it, can you move it to a sheltered spot and then move it back after the frost?

    Take it easy everyone...M x

Oh hope your friend does ok.

My sister had her regular mammo last week. They usually have her come back for an ultra sound because of her cysts. This time they said MRI. I was told this may be a new protocol, just a better view. Hope that's all it is.

Vintage, I can only hope that I look as good as you when I turn 60.  (Humm, if I start dieting now I might have a chance in another year! Wishful thinking!)  Seriously, you look wonderful!  Hope Sis is okay.  M- so glad you are now happy as a clam.  (Spookie you are quick-would have taken me days to come up with that!) How did your friend make out? Waiting for the MO update Fiaranch.  Also waiting for the shopping report Zills!  I am living vicariously through you!  ND- sorry about the frost this morning.  Sending some Virginia sunshine your way!  I'm at the center having my Herceptin infusion and there are so many conversations I can't concentrate so I will close for now.  Hope everyone has a great day! Hey All,

Ok given my disposition today, I will be careful not to say anything here that will get my posts removed by the mods...............  So the MO appointment ....................

"Your platelets are very high which is a concern along with your severe hip pain.  Tamoxifen typically does not cause joint pain.   This could be your lymphoma (lymph node cancer) becoming more aggressive or another blood disorder, or your breast cancer spreading or any and all of these 3 things.  You are a unique case.  I will do more blood work and schedule a pet scan within 2 weeks and we will go from there."

So last night I got out the vitamix and made raspberry sorbet, added tons of tequila  to the sorbet and got shit faced.............so shit faced that I puked in the ficus tree ................. My DH is at our mountain property so I was home alone with the  2 cats who  just stared at me like "you left a hairball in that tree" .

I will keep reading and checking in and try not to drag any of you down with my pity party.  I am still grateful to be above ground and know that so many folks on this site are not as lucky as me .

I will close with Today's Random Thought.....................................

I'm done chemo, yeah!!!!!!! Rang the bell (woohoo) and got out of there! There was a possibility that it would get postponed since my bloodwork was not great this week for the first time. So I needed another test this morning, and it was good enough for me to get chemo today, phew! I'm also taking an extra anti-nausea drug to prevent the issues I had last time, so hopefully the SEs stay minimal and I can move on!

vintage, you look amazing!  An inspiration for us all!

Fia, you have a great attitude! Let us know how your MO apt goes.

M, I hope your BFF is ok. Congrats on the clam shell, would love to see a picture!

Hi Zills, what a little boy you have! They keep us on our toes, don't they?!  How was shopping?

sgc, glad to hear from you! Happy to learn that Herceptin is going fine, and you're starting to feel good again. I think you had stopped work, when do you think you will go back?

idesim, sorry for your brother for his Bruins loss.... :-)

Yeah, I think tequila sorbet was the only thing to do. Too bad it was a little too good ;-)  Great thought of the day, I guess you just have to fight on and wait for a more precise dx and plan of attack... F. Fia. Are we going to have to take you out back to the woodshed or put soap on your tongue? Have moved up to hot sauce for lying at my house.

We don't care if you're having a pity party. Vent. We might want to join you. This is the safest place to be. We are all going to have these times. Worse case scenario, delete your post when you feel better.

Glad OTC had her last chemo:)

    Rock on vintage!

Boy had field day today indoors because it's cold and rainy. It was a hoot. I laughed more today than in a long time. The 8th graders were dressed in old prom outfits by the younger kids. One poor boy had on 3-4 dresses. One boy was too big to fit in the dresses so he just had parts on. One boy had a beautiful yellow halter dress with pouffy skirt, gloves, pink high heels and a coconut bra.

They were such good sports. Helped out with the younger kids, cheered on the girl in the wheelchair during the obstacle course.  I was super impressed with all the camaraderie.

It's a small school. 60-70 kids. Montessori thru 8th grade. 18 little ones and 5 8th graders. At least three with special needs. The youngest is 3.

They moved cows around yesterday. So we have yearling cows by the house. They were hollering off and on for their friends. The baby was scared and had a hard time going to sleep. They were right outside her window.

Tomato plant is in half a whiskey barrel. No moving it. Bought orange and pink geraniums to plant. They should be hardy for summer.

Found some cotton yoga skirts and tanks on door busters. Wanted tanks advertised at jcp but they didn't have them nor were they online. Found some stuff at goodwill. Landends has tanks so may just order them. Need wide strap for port and non clingy. Was hoping for a design or ruffle or tuck but plain it is. Still want capris, maybe a dress or two but must zip and shoes. Rash guards and bottoms on order. Wish me luck.

Oh Fia, you just rant all you want here. I don't blame you for getting shitfaced, I would do the same and I don't even drink any more !LOL No, not because I drank too much, but because alcohol can fire up rheumatoid. Not worth the angst! I actually love that there is some profanity on the thread again, we used to be real "guttergums" here, there's nothing like a bit of a "swearfest" to let out some stress!

Everyone has a big laugh at my expense, when they visit here. I just couldn't take out the hand built timber, second kitchen when we moved here, so I renovated it into a bar, then I got carried away with the new counter top and then a mirrored splash-back to reflect the view and I had a shiny black tall table built to take in the view and then I bought lovely woven rattan bar stools to go with it all. All my friends admire the bar, but can't understand why I would put that much effort into something I wouldn't use! They all seem to enjoy it!

Fia, I am so sorry you are going through all this and I would personally love to slap that Doctor hard, for the way he presented you with the possibilities, Fuckwit!

Otceb, Congratulations on the final chemo! I hope you feel well! Hugs to you!!!!

Zills, I loved that reverse skipping rope! hahahah Sounds like it was a fun day for everyone. I don't blame the baby for being scared listening to cattle at night. I used to stay at a friends farm and they had a bull named Bam Bam, he would moan outside my window and freak me out during the night.

I rang my friend last night to see how she's doing. They have had terrible health issues over the past few years, even had to sell their company. She has to wait till at least Monday for the results and she told me she asked if it was a Digital Mammogram machine and it wasn't, but she did have an Ultrasound as well. I am hating the waiting, it takes me back to my own waiting, 11 bloody days, I had to wait for my Biopsy results, I thought it would do my head in!  I keep thinking that she has an 80% chance of it being something other than cancer, so I am hoping the imaging may be all she needs.

I am taking Dex out for a big walk this morning, the weather has been fabulous after a cold start in the mornings.

    Take it easy everyone...M x

Hi Fia, no, not one of the massive ones, just 18inches across, it's for inside the house! LOL

Edited to add: They are protected here in Aus, so they are really hard to come by, and we can't buy anywhere else and have them sent here, too heavy anyway. So there aren't many available to buy and they can be very pricey. It isn't unusual to see a big one, around 2 feet or more across weighing 30kg going for around 1k. I was thrilled to get this one, close to home for transport and just big enough for $150.00 on ebay! M  x
