Now that is what I like to see! Bobo back, misconstruing what I am saying! As if, I would call you a vibrator! A "Pocket Rocket", here in Aus is and endearing term for someone who never stops, is a live-wire and is a real personality! a vibrator, indeed........Shocked

I seem to remember, some time ago, I had to explain what a "fanny" is in Australia! For those of you who weren't here for that, it is certainly not a bottom, at the rear but, how can I be delicate and say a ladies further forward, umm private area! We had lots of laughs here over that one! Someone falling on their "Fanny" paints a whole different picture when you know what it is, here! LOL

Imagine how I freaked out, when I worked for United, I had just boarded the flight when it landed in Melbourne, to welcome a plane full of mostly, Aussie passengers and the flight attendant gets on the P.A and says, I am holding someone's lovely Fanny Pack here, who has misplaced their Fanny Pack etc, there was lots of snickering coming from the passengers, so I had to take the Flight Attendant aside into the galley to explain the difference.

Anyhoooooo, great to see the feisty miss Bobo back! Now, what else did I say, that I need to justify? LOL

I have absolutely no issue with anyone wanting to celebrate their Dx or Surgery etc, I was just saying that giving any power to the Dx is not something I want to do, that's all. I have been reading interesting stuff, which I may not have shared, which says we should never "own" the Dx so never say "MY CANCER" etc, it isn't something that should be connected to us, as part of us etc, all to do with the Universe granting our wishes, so putting it out there, is a cosmic no-no! I know you're peeing your pants at that description Bobo, but I am a bit of an old hippie, can't help it!

I love these snippets about your boss. Is he a jerk, or do you find him amusing? The stories always make me laugh, but I am not sure how he affects you. How on earth do you manage to talk of testicles at work? LOL They aren't something I want to talk about at home!

My last boss was a Scot like me and he suited the name of "gutter-gums", as I do. Sometimes there is just no other way to say something, but a good expletive could get your point across! When the 2 of us got going, it could be really funny!

On a serious note, I am so sorry you are still having a hard time with your area and how it looks. I do feel for you, Bobo, this just wasn't what you were expecting when you went into this. Is there anything you can do, or anything you want to do, about it?

I know you've had a massive amount on your plate and no real down time, to process everything that has happened over the past year. Do you have any quiet time coming?

It is great to see you and I hope you'll drop in more when you have time...hugs to you M x

I have been to the "Biggest Morning Tea" today! I had 30 seconds notice that I had to speak about our Pink Ladies group, then the lady who introduced me, went on to give all the info that I would have given, so there I was, with the undivided attention of a couple of hundred people at a function for Cancer Research and nothing prepared. It actually went really well, because when I finished, I had 3 women approach me who had never been to a support group or had anything to do with others who had been Dx, so they are all coming to our next meeting! Who'd have thunk????

Now Miss Bobo, I meant to say, I really was having some difficulty with something to wear at this Dinner Dance. I did, at one time, have heaps of this kind of clothing, but not now. I gave it all away, never thinking that in this casual little coastal town, I would ever need it again and the low cut stuff went, for obvious reasons!. I have actually, just decided to just do the full black, slinky jersey outfit, with some evening heels, which I kept, and break out my Mother's jewellery, for the night. M x

That's the way to go. You didn't have time to be nervous. Glad you helped someone.

So yes bobo which is worse. Inquiring minds want to know.

Storms last night. Boy slept thru it all. Baby scared to death. Clutched her baby, a wooden lemon (she calls it her egg) and a ziplock bag and wouldn't leave my side. Was even shaking. Didn't want daddy. I was so hot! Still up at 6. Going to be a rough one at daycare today.

Have JS this am. Practitioner might get her wish and I fall asleep on the table. I'm usually a Chatty Cathy.

Can't wait to get home and nap. Probably going to skip a pedicure but then will have to wait two weeks. Boy at home then and I don't want him to get his nails painted and he would want to.

Next week is going to be busy. Relay for Life. Kids and I will walk the survivor lap. Dinner night before. Formal attire requested. May finally get to wear my long black lace dress, still with tags!

Also school is switching rooms around so I said I would help pack. I dismantled the computer lab but several have been hooked back up. Packed all the fiction and nonfiction in library. Librarian packing all picture books and reference materials.

Time to hit the showers and set the timer. See if that will motivate the boy. He's been late every day.

Oh Zills, that's so cute, a wooden lemon and a ziplock bag, the things that kids get attached to! Poor little thing, shaking with fear. I can imagine how she'd  cling to you. No wonder you're tired.

So you've got a dinner to go to, too! At least you have a new dress to wear! LOL

Wow! All you going to formal events. I wouldn't have a thing to wear (literally). I would be making some store happy. The only dressy things I go to are funerals, it seems. Maybe one fancy restaurant a year. When we go out, we usually frequent little ethnic hole-in-the-walls. Lots of really good inexpensive food.

I saw an orthopedic physician's assistant Tuesday and ended up in an air cast and doubled blood pressure medicine. The ankle is tendonitis and he thinks 3 weeks will cure it. My BP had been high in oncology (who would think?), but the range on Tuesday was 160-180. Normal is 120 and high normal is 140. High BP and heart trouble are on both sides of my family, although my father's heart trouble was more likely linked to smoking.

This weekend is a big festival here called Folklife. Musicians come from all over to play and jam together. DH's samba group will play on Sunday. They ask for a $20 donation for a family and $10 for an individual, so it's one of the least expensive entertainments for families. I don't know how people can come up with the money for Disneyland. Even the Zoo is expensive with multiple kids. Ariom, your inner hippie would love the craft market. There's a man who makes made to order moccasins. The hunting version is knee high and the sole is so thick it probably takes years to wear out. He traces their feet and makes the moccasins to fit. He says he gets enough orders at Folklife to keep him busy all year.

Off to my last art class. It has been so much fun.

Oh dear Wren, tendonitis is so painful, I feel for you. I hope the 3 weeks flies past and the pain is gone. Sorry to  hear about the BP too.

I love the sound of your Folklife Festival, I'd be there! I love the music and those moccasins sound great. I bought a pair of knee high Ugg boots last winter because it was so cold here.

I know what you mean about the expense of  going to theme parks etc for a family. Same here, I don't know how families on even a fair income do it. Even a night at the movies here is outrageously expensive.

    Enjoy that art class!

It is warm this morning, like Spring, not Autumn, but it has been raining for hours. I put the sprinklers on yesterday, typical!

I have to go into town to pick up my watch from the jeweler and I am hoping my dishwasher comes back today, they had to order a new hose. Thank goodness a tiny pinhole leak was all it was.

Well I hope everyone is off enjoying Spring over there...chat later...M x

Spring? What's that? Oh yeah, that was those 3 days in Feb. we are in full summer mode now, A/C will be on till Nov. Hot and humid. Bleaach!!

Amusement parks. Fl residents get a break for Disnney Wirld, but at $100 a person, I'm not taking the grands any time soon. Who can afford that?

Fla, Horrors having to wait through a long weekend for results! The woman's dream is right on! Who doesn't want that?

Not sure about the swimsuits. The second one looks kind of like a pole dancer with a gimmick. Do you think there may someday be groups of men who prefer one or no breasted women? Actually looking at old swimsuits,  it's clear that I have almost always chosen something modest. Probably because they cover more fat :)

Morning Fia! Everything crossed for a good result of your scan!

Now those swimsuits really are something special!LOL

Chilly and windy, here this morning. I think our run of lovely warm days, which has been the best for this time of year, since record keeping began, are about over.

Not much to do today, just the dinner dance tonight and I still haven't really found what I will wear. I'll give myself a facial and do my nails and hope I feel more like going!

I am sick of feeling lousy from these damn bone meds, so I am seriously considering giving them the flick! Each week it gets a little bit worse. I think I have given them a good go, 8 weeks and I sure don't seem to be getting used to them.

Sorry for whinging, that's Aussie for whining! Take it easy everyone,,,,chat later!

Hi everyone!!  I'm here, I have been doing a little reading, but doubt if I can catch up with everything.  I've been working in the yard, cutting suckers from all my trees and the new shoots that so many of them send out.  The weather here has been nice.  Today is almost too warm for me @ 80°F.  I just don't do well in the heat, 85°F is the top end of my comfortable zone.  That is why I moved North from CA!

The other day I was shutting off the heater in my pump house for the summer and discovered a snake den!! Yikes!  Then I was in the front yard and saw one slithering through the grass! Yikes again!  I have had a den in the side yard near the creek for years, but now they seem to have moved around and started new dens.  I'm hoping the den in the pump house is a result of the flood in March that filled the den in the side yard. I have to do something to discourage them, I'm scared to death they will move in under the house and I'll have them inside.  There was a house years ago in SD I think it was that was so overrun with snakes I believe the people had to abandon it.  Sure don't want that!!  A gal on my diabetes forum suggested moth balls.  I'll give anything a try at this point.

ndgirl I think it was you that asked about my ear.  It is marginally better, very slow at healing.  It still hurts, though not as much.  I see my MO next Wed.  Hopefully he can tell if it needs a biopsy or not.

Nice to see you bobo!  Sorry you are still having a hard time dealing with your area.  I sure hope you have some time off coming soon so you can just plain rest.

Zills, you are the busiest person.  Have fun at the dinner.  You too Ariom!  I don't own one piece of clothing that could be considered formal!!

Fia, interesting swim suits, not sure how they would actually stand up to swimming in them.  I liked the first one, not the colors though.  I think it would look good on a Bilateral too.

Though I may not mention you, I am thinking about all of you everyday and hoping each day you are feeling better and enjoying the Spring/Fall depending on where you live!

    Hugs for everyone!

    M & Wren ,

I really thought the orange & black swimsuit was different ............. But yeah that one looked like a pole dancer LOL .Interesting thought Wren ...men that prefer 1 or no boobs ?  hmmm my mind wanders . I guess I am just old and believe that when you have been married as long as I have its the humor versus the sex.............

M you NEVER Whing/Whine  and you are entitled. Side effects from medications are just SHITFUL !!! I try to tell myself every day with this Tamox that I don't have a choice but there is something to be said for quality of life !!!

I am contemplating more sorbet margaritas over the weekend  (I am so glad Bobo and M old me on that Vitamix )...............as we all know the WAITING SUCKS !!!

Have a good weekend all !!

OMG I forgot to tell you all the funniest thing....................  Last year when I was diagnosed the girl that does my pedicures gave me this bag of pot (In case I was sick from chemo, just keep it if you need it she said ) . I stuffed it in a kitchen drawer and forgot about it .  Last week my DS comes over and looks in the drawer . OMG what the HELL IS THIS SHIT  he says .  I said well I got it from the girl that does my nails , I did not buy it or smoke it ................  He says " Holy shit Mom you sound like me in high school when you busted me . Its not mine I was just holding it for someone else " .

Actually I needed that laugh last week .............See Zill's look what you have to look forward to !!!

Posting at the same time hope the MO can get to the bottom of what's going on with your ear . SNAKES ARRGGHHH I hate them .  However I remember my Father putting out mothballs in the garage and they do work (my Mom is scared to death of snakes) .

OMG! I was just about to go out when I saw your posts!

Hi gB, Snakes all over, now that's not pleasant. I hope the mothballs work. I know they can drive me out of a thrift store! Now that's interesting, I am born in the year of the Snake, in Chinese Horoscope and I hate mothballs!!!!

I hope your ear is ok and doesn't require a biopsy!

Fia, you are so sweet, thank you!

I don't do drugs well! Well, some drugs, did you like that segue? I haven't smoked any pot since Bec was born, but that interaction with your son cracked me up. Holding for someone else....yeah sure. One of Bec's fave stories is to tell her friends about how when she went to University and was smoking a little weed, it was me, her Mother who  taught her how to roll a joint, with one hand! LOL

I think you should make those Margaritas this weekend too, F the waiting it is just the pits. I think that's something that could be worked on, the fast turnaround, of test results. When I wrote my thank you letter to Breastscreen Australia for the great service they had, with the exception of the 11, yes11, day wait, I had between Biopsy and Dx, they called me and asked me whole list of questions about that so they could present my feedback at their next meeting. They promised that they would do all they could do make sure that wouldn't happen again.  The clinic I was supposed to attend for my results, fell on the First Tuesday in November which is the date of the race that stops the nation, The Melbourne Cup! I had to wait it out, till the following Tuesday. The only positive was the extra pounds I lost while stressing and waiting!

    I am thinking of you....hugs M x

hello!  Glad bobo and M are back at it, them and their sassy wit!

M, damn bone meds!  What are your options, stop all together or is there an alternative one that might be gentler on you?

I'm sure whatever outfit you decide on for tonight will be great on you! It's all in the way you carry it, right?!  Have fun!

bobo, sorry about your area. I guess it's mainly the scars that don't look good? You don't have swelling? I hope it gets better over the weeks.

spookie, good luck with the heat! I'll be in Tampa for a day for work in June, I'll keep you posted as it gets confirmed!

gB, snakes, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! No thank you! You are such a brave person, with everything you do and deal with! I hope you're successful at shooshing them away. Let us know how it goes at the MO for your ear.

Fia, too funny about the pot and your DS!  Anything interesting outing you can do this weekend to make time go by faster? Have a sorbet margarita for me please, I'll be disappointed if you don't.

wren, how was the last art class? Can you register for another, you enjoyed it so much? How's Goldie, does she like the warmer weather (duh, she's a cat!)? Have fun at the festival!

Zills, have fun at the Relay for Life! I hope you don't have to walk it in heels?

ndgirl, I guess you learned over the years about Victoria Day! Likely the same thing for us this coming weekend, we should not bother going to the US on Monday! I hope you get great weather!

sgc, happy belated cancerversary! I hope you find the strength you need to make the changes you want... hugs!

Not too sure when I last posted. Anyway, the last chemo went ok, I wasn't sick or did not pass out this time, so that's good. Just felt very weak on Monday, and like crap for 2 days. My mother was here, it was nice, she of course did not like seeing me affected like this, but what can you do. We celebrated her birthday and it was a nice visit overall. So now I'm just waiting for the annoying but minor SEs to go away, like the tastebuds gone, runny nose, eye issues, etc. Probably another week. And I look forward to not having the sick look - the lack of eyebrows and eyelashes is depressing! Can't walk around for very long without make-up in the house!

I feel that now, with treatments done, i can focus on rebuilding a little. I have not stretched at all during chemo and feel it now, on my left side. It's so bad, so tight under the arm, it actually hurts. So I've started the stretches again. And I have to gain back the strength I lost with the mx, from the shoulders to the hands. Opening jars is a challenge, it should not be at my age! I see the PT in 2 weeks, haven't seen her in months, so it will be good to get an assessment and LE measurement (which seems very good, touch wood).  Good news too is the weight has gone down in the past few weeks, so I just need to ensure it does not come back on... until the dreaded tamox starts on July 1st! And rebuilding my social life - it's been funny I've been hearing from all these friends in the past days, congratulating me on the end of chemo and wanting to meet up. Where were they during chemo?! Seriously, many have been great, just a few have been disappointing... to be expected.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

M, damn bone meds, indeed!  Of course I knew what you meant about not giving the BC anniversary power.  I was just teasing you.  Fia, waiting with you.

Bird!  Tendonitis!  That is terrible.  And, BTW... $100 a ticket for Disney World?  We have not taken the kids yet.  And now I see we certainly cannot afford it.  Ridiculous.  Plus you'd want a nice hotel.  And a princess breakfast for the baby.

Z, I could have erased 'the boy' from your story -- the pokiness, the timer, the wanting to have his nails polished -- and put 'W boy' in the blank.  They seem to be exactly the same.  Poor shaky baby.  My punk rockstar princess.

Let's see.  My area does have lopsided and completely asymmetrical scarring, that's true.  And I haven't looked at it completely, so this is not a full report.  But the right side is terribly caved in, with a crater, with wrinkled skin over it.  The crater shows through everything you wear, even if you wear three shirts.  And it's 100 degrees here.

I feel I cannot judge between my area and testicles, since I have not looked completely at my area.  However, and sadly, I have had more than one complete look at testicles.  And they are pretty gross.  **disgusting**  Most straight men do not clean that area thoroughly, nor do they 'manscape' it.  I believe the area usually smells like urine.  And that disgusting looking sack is far more wrinkled than my area.  Testicles win!

My boss:  I wrote you an email at two in the morning.  Two-thirds of it is positive.  It is about how I've never met anyone like you.  Did you get it?

Me:  Did you sent that on the university's email?

    My boss: **confused**  Yes.

Me: I'm going to delete that email when I get it without reading it first.  Okay?

    My boss.  Okay.

My boss (beginning a story):  You don't have testicles, but my wife was downstairs, she said to Emily, 'Butter your sister's toast when you butter your own, but then she didn't do it.  She said to my wife, 'I didn't say I would do it.'  I was upstairs, just waking up.  It was six-thirty in the morning.  My wife started this ungodly screaming.  WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!  WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING TO ME LIKE THAT?  You don't have testicles, but the sound of her voice just make my testicles jump up inside of my body.

    Me: **stunned and nauseated silence**

    Bobo,

WTH is this mans problem !! I would have to tell him "in my experience men who talk about testicles are generally the ones with the smallest ones".....  Same goes for the size of their D**Ks !!

    What a jackass !!!

Oh crap, I just lost a huge long post, time to start again! Can't remember everything I wrote.

I know you were teasing about the BC anniversary, but I wonder how others may read our jousting and think we're serious!

Bobo, your boss cracks me up! I love how you write about him, but I can't really get a handle on him! I thought the story about the email meant he was hitting on you, but then the story about his "ascending testicles", broke me up again! In Aus we would say his wife has a voice like a "torn sheet"!

Your description of testicles is hysterical, no amount of manscaping is going to make those look good.

I can't tell you how sad it makes me to hear of the final result of all this surgery. To know how much is has affected you and that you still can't look at it, is just awful. I wonder if there is anything that can be done, or even if you want to do anything to improve it?

    Big hugs to you!

otceb, so great to see you! I am so glad you are doing OK after the chemo, been thinking of you!

I can imagine it would have to be so hard for your Mother to see what you had to go through. So glad it is now in the rear view mirror! I hope the stretching and exercise will loosen things up and make you feel much better.

Who knows what goes through peoples minds when they drop off during this treatment, it isn't unusual, there is a lot written about it. I don't get it, but then there is a lot associated with this stuff that I don't get. I hope you can get back to a place where you are all comfortable and friendly again.

To answer your question about these stupid bone meds, I don't know! I am swallowing horse pills of calcium and D which are supposed to be taken with this or junk, so I am not sure if the calcium and D will work on its own, probably not. I know that weight bearing exercise will help to build bone, so I just have to get motivated to go to the gym regularly, I used to love it, but just can't manage to get inspired while I feel like crap from the drugs. Vicious cycle, I know, just got to do it!

Take it easy everyone and enjoy your weekend! M x

Hey all.   I have a funny story so thought I'd share.  It rained a lot last week...water in the basement (not part of the funny story).  A few days have gone by and things are drying up.  As I was backing out of the garage, I looked at the gutter on the side of the house...it leaks.  My 12 year old daughter (fresh out of sex ed in 6th grade) was setting in the back seat.

Me.. rambling.. said out loud " that gutter needs to get caulked".

    DD: "What did you say??"

Me: "Scott needs to caulk that gutter".

    DD:  "MOM...WHAT????"

Me: (getting irritated)  "I SAID...that gutter needs to get caulked!!

    **SILENCE**

and then she just started laughing kind of uncontrollably ... which snapped me out of my random babbling... What had I just said that was so funny???  OHHHHHHHHHH.  The word caulk sounds just like the word cock!!!!  She thought I was saying "that gutter needs to get cocked".

Well... we laughed for a solid minute.  I think I said.. OMG.. COCKED!!

These teen-age years are going to be damn interesting, no?

Bobo, My niece used to clap her hands over her ears and exclaim "Oh my virgin ears!!" when we cursed. I don't think I've ever heard a man talk about his testicals, even in a poker game. Your boss is weird.

M, Are there different bone meds you could try? Definitely let them know how miserable you are. I know what you mean about the calcium pills; no idea why they think they need to be so big. There is one brand that makes a "petite" size, but they're over the California limit for arsenic. I found one that said "liquid" but when I shook the bottle I could hear pills rattle.

Otceb, Congratulations for completing chemo. That's a nice chapter to get beyond.

My 3rd GS has entered a negative phase and it's driving his dad crazy. Dad: 'get dressed, we're going down to the river'. Kid: 'I don't want to go. Dad: I didn't ask you if you wanted to go, we're going. Go get dressed'. Most of the time he enjoys it once he's there.

I'm making smaller microbead foobs to wear in my swimsuits. I hope the sizing works out OK. I may try stuffing one with nylon net so it dries right away. It doesn't have to be very large because the suit flattens the real side.

Bobo, If the crater (I have one also) bothers you, you could always wear a genie bra with a shoulder pad in it. Or a sports bra. They're usually double layer and you can just cut a slash in the knit liner to tuck something in. Knit doesn't ravel, so no need to sew anything. Probably wouldn't be hotter than 3 shirts. I know you prefer flat, so it's just a suggestion. I realized that I would need that skin to do the backstroke properly.

Birdie, I have just been thinking of calcium myself.  I know I do not get enough, nor does DLLP.  I hear (from yoga magazine) we need to get most of it from food.  I don't do dairy (allergic), so it's harder for me (although I eat a lot of greens).  I do not do supplements for it yet.  Still looking around.

I see there is a burst of little plays on the thread!  Excellent.  PRB, you will slip 'cock' into a story whenever possible.  You cannot fool us!  Please think of your DD's delicate ears and clean up your act!  :)

Meeting with the PS on Tues about area.  When I saw him two weeks ago (six-week checkup) he was quite moved (in a negative way) about the area.  And started hugging me.  Four times.  Up to this point he has not been very touchy-feely.  He knows I don't want to do TEs again.  Perhaps will fill in the hole with some fat grafting.  But it's an undertaking.  Bird, those bras hug right where my scars are.  My scars are where the bottom edge of a bra would be.  And the scars are still pretty new and bright red.

M, was just at the gym not doing a very good job, so know exactly how you feel.  Trying to lift weights.  Not very much muscle on one side to engage the weights.  XXX

Orchid, I believe is the Latin word for testicles?

Weight bearing exercises. Never thought I'd reach the age when hauling my butt up and down the stairs would count as a weight bearing exercise. It does count, doesn't it??

Bobogirl,  If you ate ice cream, would that fill in the area a bit? I used ice cream to get boobs in the first place. Apparently my chest reacts well to ice cream, and I had a nice pair of boobs just before, you know, the b.c. happened. And you'd get calcium. I have to eat the coconut non dairy ice cream because I'm lactose intolerant. I have to say that currently the ice cream is all going to my butt (which I now know is not my fanny) which, combined with flat chest, middle aged gut and big butt, has turned my signature walk into "2 (or more) pigs wrestling in a sack."

Hi Wirdgirl, good to see you! That ice cream diet sounds like fun, but I have a belly that it likes to land on, hasn't done a thing for my divet! LOL

Was telling some friends at the Dinner Dance about the "Fanny" discussion here, they had a great laugh about it.

When I went to the gym, the instructor asked if I lived in a house with stairs, because it is known that people with a house with stairs a generally fitter than those who do not. So it sure does count!

I am looking at my 2 Orchids which have sprouted several spikes each, in the past week, please, don't make me think of testicles when I look at these beauties:)

Hello Bobo! Does the Dickhead have a heart, or is he afraid of litigation? Touchy feely all of a sudden? Well at least he finally seems to get it that you aren't going to repeat the process of the TE's. I have read on other threads about women having some fat grafting to fill out the concave bits. I understand that any more surgery will be an undertaking, but perhaps down the track it may be something you'll want to investigate.

Take a look at an unstructured crop, made of cotton and elastane. If you send me your measurement, I will send you one from here to try. The band is lower than the knit bras and you can use a bit of padding to fill in the concave part. I have found a brand that sells from a supermarket here that is perfect with a pocket sewn in and only costs a few dollars each.  Worth a try?

This is the first Monday I haven't taken a bone med, no stomach issues and no headache this morning. yaay!

Oh Bobo, I get what you mean, the bloody gym has become my nemesis. I have to try to find a way to make it a pleasant habit.

Bobo, Definitely do not irritate the scars. Mary on mastectomysolutions.com described finding a genie "shaper" with pockets in the bra area. She got it a couple of sizes too large because she wanted comfort rather than shaping. I'm sure that you see that spot far more than anyone else. The top of my nose has been a scar since 4th grade. People are surprised if I mention it because they hadn't noticed.

That's so true! You feel EVERY ONE is staring at your perceived HUGEMONGUS flaw, when in truth nobody is. And if somebody is looking, pi$$ on them. It's ok to be flat.
