Spookie ,
Well I would but I am contemplating if I am going to puke in more plants again tonight !!!! . Since I cannot revisit habits from my youth (puff, puff, pass). I plan on drinking to make it through the next several weeks of the "have the tests, wait for the results BS !! LOL

But it's legal in your state! Might make you feel better than barfing in all your plants, not to mention your poor head in the morning. But yeah, it is a PITA waiting while your brain is running a million miles a second. Hang in there!

Moira, I am ROFL about "the bull named Bam-Bam." He prob thought, rightly so, that you were a Hottie! Does Dex know?

fiaranch1, you go ahead and say what you want to say! Like you need my permission lol. We are all wonderful, smart, beautiful, sassy women and We Have Voices!

Hey Wirdgirl, that Bull was scary.LOL
I sat up last night and watched the final episode of Sex and the City, again! I loved that show! Loved those characters.
I am off to the Farmers Market this morning and a friend is performing down on the foreshore with a band later in the morning, so Dex will have another big walk today. I bathed him on Thursday because it was so warm and sunny so he looks like that old cartoon where the little girl washes the cat and it floats out of the clothes dryer as a big fluffy ball. I have to groom him, but he hates it, so I have to pick the right time to get the electric clippers out. I should just take him to a groomer, but he hates it so much I feel sorry for him and so I do it myself.
I hope everyone is doing Ok and enjoying some sunshine, I'll check back later...M x

Tomorrow is Settende Mai, or Norwegian Constitution (independence) Day. My area of Seattle was settled by Scandinavians and we will have the largest parade outside of Norway. There are Norwegian activities all day and the parade in the late afternoon. Music all day at Bergen Place park. I may watch the parade, depending on whether it's raining. There's also a harbor that's home to the Alaska fishing fleet with a blessing of the fleet by a Lutheran minister. We're not Norwegian, so this was a huge surprise when we moved here.
Later in the summer we have the Fisherman's Festival which has a craft market, sales at the stores and lots of food and music. The shelter has a booth and I often help out.

thanks Wren for that info. I had no idea! Enjoy it!

Just popping in to catch up. Fia, I am so sorry to hear about your sh1tful MO appt. M, standing by for news of your friend. Vintage, you look beautiful! You are rockin' that short haircut. You are going to start a trend, I swear.
The Vitamix saves the day again! Excellent work with that recipe, Fia. I too do not understand why you aren't puff puff passing in CO. It is legal, after all.
Love to everyone. I am so busy I can barely fill you in. Homeschooling the princess. I think I told you. Right now I'm waiting for the car to be out of the shop so I can go get it, then shower and get into my pajamas. x

Oh Fia, so sorry about the MO appt. and the waiting. I would probably go for the "slushi" too. (Actually it sounded pretty good!).
How was the Norwegian festival Wren? I knew many Scandinavians were in the Midwest, but hadn't heard about Seattle. Must be quite a craft market!
M, I hope you had a good time at the farmers market listening to your friend's band.
Homeschooling the Princess is probably keeping you on your toes Bobo. My hat is off to you as I don't think I could have homeschooled mine when they were little,
Today is my cancerversary. It is hard to believe it has been a year since my official diagnosis. The best thing to have happened this past year is meeting you all! The jury is still out on the worst. One thing that I have realized is that I need to make some major changes in my life. It should be an interesting year. I just might make my own "slushi" to celebrate! Here's to you all! Always, S

One year Sgc, I am just a little past my cancerversary and yes, what a whirlwind! I sure agree that these ladies and boards are surely the best thing!! We will just keep having these anniversaries!!
Fiaranch, please dont stay away here just because you are feeling down, that is what we are here for,, say anything anytime!! Thinking of you.
Wren, we have many Norwegians around here so I am very familiar, my sil is Norwegian and makes the best food and pastries. Enjoy your time.
Hi Bobo, you are meeting youself coming and going huh?? take it cool.
Weather has changed and has been great lately!! finally! We planted 70 hills of potatoes today and cleaned many flower beds, hopefully it will hold so the rest of garden can go in.. still a week early to set out tomato and pepper plants, want to get spinach and radishes in because they like cooler weather. I saw the Farmers Old Almanac say we will go from the deep freeze into the fire.. get hot and dry! one extreme to another. Felt so good to be outside in fresh air and doing something productive..and came in to shower and took off to Canada for supper! yep Otc.. I am still heading north and soon will be going much more as golfing will begin!! Seem like I have avoided the claw so far! Hi to everyone.

Morning all!
Wren, I hope the rain held off and you could go to the Parade. I love a good Parade!
I got some great fresh produce from the Market, Vitamix soup coming up! Friends who have a stall gave me a new Chilli and Coriander Jam to try!
We had people call in yesterday, so I missed seeing my friend dancing, but we opened the sliding doors and listened to the music.
Hi Bobo, I think I will call you the "Pocket Rocket", do you ever stop? Home schooling now too, I shake my head, at your energy, I don't know how you manage it all. That's a F lot of balls to keep in the air my lovely!
No news yet, tomorrow, we will hear if my friend needs a Biopsy. It has really got me going, this one. I keep reminding myself that it is far more likely to be B9! She's doing better than I am! LOL
Sgc, 1st Cancerversary! Doesn't time fly? It has been a hell of a year for you, but you've come through and we are very glad you found us! I always hesitate to shout out Congratulations! for this anniversary, because the Dx should never have any power, but I am so glad you're here, telling us about it and your plans for changes this year! All the best!! Hugs to you!!!!!!
Hi to everyone else... chat later.... M x

That's a lot of taters. What do you do with all them? Are you Irish?
I'm thankful for Pappy at the end of the road. He grows what I like and will pick however much and call me if I'm pickling beets or green beans. Go to the orchard for seconds to make jam.
My horse won the Preakness. Hoping for a triple crown winner but the next race will be harder. I think it's unfair for fresh horses to race in these races but then that's what makes the triple crown so special.
My tomato survived the cold. Planted my geraniums. Going to wait a few days to plant my zinnia seeds. Maybe I'll put some newspaper down to help the ground warm back up.
Went antiquing yesterday am. Found a leather flat purse over the shoulder for $5. Another item off the list for Ireland. Met my mom and two sisters for dinner. Boy went home with one. Took baby fishing and found three goose eggs.
DH caught about ten bluegill/sunfish. I should have taken a pix of him cleaning them with Firebob and Shyguy watching. Going to fry them up today.
The house is a wreck and i shouldn't have sat down. Crave coffee and ice cream but only the full fat versions. Read somewhere coffee and dairy are big no nos for hormone positive.
Can't wait for tomorrow to have the house to myself. Last week of school. Having a hard time balancing my needs/wants with family. The bc yoga class is 30 min away. I can go to local gym 5 min away. Save time and $$.
Hope everyone has a beautiful Sunday! Miss Idesim. Need a Granwe baby update and pix!

Zills, I think the dairy admonition is about hormones given to cows. Organic should be ok or milk from a local farmer you trust. If coffee is a big no, then I am doomed. I cannot imagine life without it. Wouldn't it just be awesome for our horse to win the triple crown? It is pretty rare, however.
Bobo, I cannot even imagine home schooling my children. I know people who do it, but I couldn't.

So who won the Triple Crown last? Man'oWar? Saw the statue, that's really cool! Citation? I can't remember.

Hi nd, That sure is a lot of taters! I have been in the garden too, but mainly cleaning up. All my lettuce have gone to seed now. I am going to do more herbs in the raised beds during the Winter, hopefully they will be protected enough, not to expire.
You went to Canada for Supper, I still love that!
Zills, How fantastic to have Pappy nearby to supply the produce you like!
So good to hear that you got some bargains.
I miss ldesim too, and I need a Gramwe update!
Hi Wren and Spookiesmom....M x

nope, not a drop of Irish in either of us, we just love our taters!! Nothing as good as taters from the garden. I do give lots away too, we just now had to buy potatoes. They keep well in our basement. I dont like all the chemicals and spray that goes on the commercial ones. I keep my garden as pesticide free as possible. I am finding it is more work every year... must be getting old! So enjoy gardening and love all the produce at my fingertips. Planting lots of flowers too, also putting in Zinnias, I saved seed from last year, doesnt take them long to pop out of the ground. Sometimes it just seems magical to me that not long ago this ground was frozen solid and now things are popping out of the ground that survived that horrible and every other winter! Saw the native Lady Slippers are peaking, love them.
Zills, if coffee and ice cream are out, so am I! think it must be about the added hormones to milk, etc. I do not buy any of that. Glad you got some shopping done.
Bobo, you should change your name to Bumble Bee... you must be just buzzing around so busy!!
GB, how is the ear? sorry about all the potatoes and you dont eat carbs.
Hello to everyone!

Man O War was not a triple crown winner. The 70s were the last ones with Secretariat in 73, Seattle Slew in 77 and Affirmed in 78.
Since 1919, when Sir Barton became the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes, only 11 horses have won racing’s most prestigious prize, the Triple Crown. Affirmed, in 1978, was the last horse to achieve the remarkable feat of winning all three races, at three different distances, at three different tracks, in the space of five weeks. The current 32-year gap between Triple Crown winners is the longest drought in the series’ history; in 1973 Secretariat ended a 25-year hiatus dating back to Citation’s 1948 triumph. In all, 21 horses, including seven in the past 13 years, have come into the Belmont Stakes with victories in the Derby and Preakness winners, only to fall short in the 1 ½-mile “Test of the Champion.”
And that's your history and trivia lesson in one. Have a good Monday!

Very interesting Zills! I knew nothing about this.
Just got the news that my girlfriends testing was B9! Woo Hoo!
Going to bed now, can sleep without freaking out about my friend, gosh, I really reacted to this one!
Take it easy everyone.....M x

Thanks Zills! When I was in Girl Scouts my troop came to see the Man O War statue and farm. And my grandparents lived in Lawrenceburg, but the horses weren't really on their radar. DD was born in 71, so I guess I was busy with her, don't remember the races from that time.

Oh! The Derby is the longest running sporting event in the US, followed by AKC Westminster. Dog show.

Ariom, glad to hear about your friend...what a relief for all.

Popping in to say hello! I haven't done much of a catch up, sorry I did see Fia's post while skimming otver and I am sorry you are having a sh!tful time. Not sure if that was how the MO told you, or you were just venting.. but if he did give you that news in that manner then he needs a massive backhand.
Congrats sgc on being done with that nasty chemo! You did it
Vintage.. girl you are gorgeous! What I would give for your figure
M, so happy your friend got good news!
Love to all the rest of you... lots of graduations for me and not necessarily young folk, but 3 older folks who went back to school and who I personally think are amazing!!
Been taking on extra work at the office since real estate is still rather slow and while it's not the most exciting work in the world, at least it keeps me gainfully employed. Been thinking that maybe I should return to school as well, I just don't think I have the ambition for it.

OTc, Happy Victoria Day.. enjoy the long week-end in Canada.. we know not to go north this weekend, everything is closed!
Hi Idesim, nice to hear from you.

Vintage gal, I'd trade you for my Buddha belly.
Ariom, Celebration for your friend.
Good to hear from everyone. My last art class is this week and I'm so sorry it's ending. I'm trying to draw a former foster cat and she keeps looking demonic. Which she wasn't in the least.

Good Morning all!
Been busy here, we have had almost a week of fabulous warm days, so I have managed to get some outside work done.
I am trying to find something to wear for the Saturday night Dinner Dance at the Yacht Club, for the end of the season. I have given away all my low neck tops, so a bit light on for after 5 wear. Thursday is the Biggest Morning Tea, which is a yearly event for raising money for BC, so a group of us, from my Pink Ladies, will be going to that too.
Take it easy ladies....M x

ALERT: Our Ariom has nothing to wear. A likely story!
Hooray for your friend's benign diagnosis! Hooray! A relief. Sgc, congrats on your anniv. Love that A is so militant about it. 'I would congratulate you but I should not, perhaps it will give too much power..' I am paraphrasing. She is such a badass, isn't she?
Hellish day at work. And then I come home to the thread and Ariom has described me as a 'pocket rocket.' A, isn't that a vibrator! Your mind is always in the gutter! **disgusting** Your previous life as band groupie comes forward! I sound strict but you are making me pee with laughter.
Idesim, I too am taking extra work. Z, I so wish I could have seen the kitties watching DH clean the fish! That is the cutest. A little jealous of the farm connections and the canning. I have always wanted to learn to can. But it is stupid to go buy the produce and then can it.
Really, really, definitely difficult time with the horrendous-looking area. Cannot bear to look in shower. And then homeschool and babysitters and my job is, also, really, really difficult. My boss is insane. Tomorrow is his birthday and he is mid-life crisis.
ME (today, in a meeting with him): Don't say 'fuck' to me. I am your inferior.
MY BOSS: Oh really. I might as well be your inferior. You are always telling me what to do.
ME: You asked me to edit this. I am just doing my job.
etc. etc.
Not sure this is coming across as terrible. Also he mentioned his testicles. *disgusting*

oh Bobogirl you have such a way with testicles, I mean words! "not sure this is coming across as terrible." You are a gem!
It doesn't seem right that you should have any unbearable to look at areas. Does it look more horrendous than a testicle?
