Figs, oranges and basil have calcium. Bryers makes a lactose free ice cream and Yoplait makes a lactose free yogurt. Baby is lactose free.
Had swimming lessons Fri night then a memorial ceremony for friend that had a horse riding accident last year. Kids were great.
Sat they were monsters while shopping. Boy had a play date so DH, baby and I ate Chinese and went to Walmart. Big night on the town.
Today we went swimming at a bc friends house. It was great. They slept on the way home and I crashed when we got home.
Wore my swim shirt from lands end. Still have LE and didn't want to get too much sun. It was a salt water pool. Never heard of one.
Boy got to see a cow in labor. "She had water coming out her butt but it wasn't pee. It came out when she was walking too." Then he wanted to know what pregnant was. I wish it wasn't so late or taking so long so he could have seen it being born.
He hasn't asked the big question yet. We've been matter of fact about the adoption and names of parts. It shouldn't be a big deal but I'm feeling a little anxious.
Baby taking initiative to go pee. Still won't poop. Had thought about letting her be naked this weekend but afraid trip this summer will set her back. So letting her set the pace. Boy can't wait until she poops so he can get a sucker too. He keeps asking if he can have one after he poops:)
Weight has really crept on. Not really exercising, just day to day stuff. Not hungry in am but eat at night plus ice cream. Probably won't fit into my black dress even with spanx. I've had the dress, still with tags, for 20 years. Supposed to have gone on cruise with in-laws but DH job wouldn't let him off. I think his mom passed away a year or so later from lung cancer. Job was a pita. Hindsight Memories come first.

Morning all! Oh Zills, I remember being very nervous at the thought of giving "The Talk" to Bec, but it really wasn't bad at all. The difficult one was Vi! he was already a teen when we got him, but he had been in a refugee camp and before that, a small village, now that was a difficult conversation! I think he actually enjoyed my embarrassment with the language barrier and the content! LOL
What a shit of a job that wouldn't let your DH go on that cruise. You're so right, memories come first.
A dress that you've had for 20 years, still with the tags on, now that is a record if ever I heard of one!
I know you are all probably sick to death of hearing about the Marika Sales, but they have 45% off the clearance stock again....just saying......that's about $10 an item for most of the $60.00 items...some great crop tops and active wear tops with pockets....wicking T Shirts for about $6 and my favorite the capri for around $10.00 just keep in mind that they run very small.
Take it easy.....M x

Thanks Zills and Gramma B ,
I am really so grateful that the lymph node cancer is status quo and there is no spread of the BC . I was so excited that I forgot to post Today's Random Thought...............
For me I would also have to add my giant THIGHS !!!!

So happy for you Fia, just dragging my thighs and ass off to the shower, will catch up later! M x

Fia, that's good news! Hopefully it stays like this for a long time! What's next, just scans every 6 months, or every year?
Zills, funny about the suckers. What got DS potty trained was a Thomas sticker book - he would get to place a sticker anytime he would use the potty. It's so neat that you live on a farm and your son got to see a cow in labour, what special events they are witnessing!
M, did you buy anything during the Marika sale? I went shopping last weekend, it's summer weather here these days and I found out that many of my summer tops had too low a neckline or that tank tops were too low under the arms. Damn Mona bra (well I guess all mx bras) go up so high... I kept reading about all of you shopping for different tops and it never registered! I'm a little slow...! Anyway, shopping therapy is always good therapy, but it was still depressing to put all these other tops aside. And the f* wig was hot this weekend. I caught myself stepping outside to water flowers without a wig a few times! Oh well, c'est la vie! Maybe it's about time these neighbours find out the crap I have been going through?! :-)
I went to the dermatologist today for an annual skin cancer screening due to my BRCA2 mutation. And they removed a suspicious mole... will it ever end????????????????? I know, no big deal, my father had melanoma (caught early) years ago, in the grand scheme of things it's nothing. It just adds up! I get the results in 2 weeks, and stitches removed then.
Hugs to everyone!

Fla, Good news!
Otceb, Just be sure to wear a sun hat or sunscreen on your head. Good luck with the mole. DD had one they classified as melanoma, but it was extremely small and no further treatment was needed.

Yea Fia!!! Happy dance here for you!!!!
Thanks for the derma reminder. I need to do that. Had a squamous cut out of my arm a few years ago.

otceb, I have to say, "Yes"! I always buy from the Marika sales.
I have more active wear than most stores! but in my defense, I live in a little coastal town, which is a very casual, laid back place and I have found that this clothing is comfortable and smart enough to be worn most days.
I love the sports bras which have pockets, as do the racer-back tops. The capris, yoga pants and leggings are a great fit, for me and even come with an option of tummy control and the jackets come in great color options.
I know the feeling of discovering most of your tops don't work, after this surgery. I have a pet hate which I call "The Fall Forward!" which is when you wear a top that is a tad too low and you bend over while wearing a silicone prosthesis. The prosthesis pulls away as you lean forward and you can see all the way through to your waist. My first "Fall Forward" happened when I was loading produce onto the belt from a shopping cart at the supermarket. I looked down and was horrified to see this vacant spot, then I looked up to see the woman on the checkout had seen it too.
I went home and tossed every top that wasn't going to sit high on my chest into a bag and gave them all away. I have made it my mission, to source both clothing that suits the changes in my body and I have even found lighter weight foam breast forms that don't fall forward and can be worn comfortably in the active wear tops, that I favor most of the time these days.
I totally understand your feelings about the skin checks too. I know how It just feels like it never stops!
I have had several skin cancers removed over the years, and had a particularly nasty one that required 8 stitches taken off my shoulder, a few years ago. I hope yours is nothing and it heals up well and you can move on.
Hugs to everyone! M x

ooh, thanks M, just checking out Marika! Do you have it shipped to your u.s. address thingy, and then shipped to Australia?
Hi everyone!

Octeb,
Skin cancer is not nothing . I know exactly how you feel you think you are doing all you can for the BC and then its something else. I go every 3 months to the dermatologist and have had several cancerous and pre cancerous moles removed . I am hoping they got it all and that it is B9 .
After this weeks good news I will still have blood work every month and then scans every 3 months . Tamox (or another blocker once I go through the change) for a minimum of 5 years. As bad as the Se's are some days from Tamox, I am not looking to change to another one . I think it was Granwe (where is she?) that had awful side effect from one of the hormone blockers.
Zills and Oc I think we all need suckers and stickers as rewards. We could design a sticker book with things like "this month everyone is entitled to 90% off all Marika items" LOL I know M could help .
Wren I looked at Lands end swim suits ........they are actually really nice .
Hello to all ! Have a great day

Hello Ladies.........I have never posted here before but hope someone will response with a suggestion. Has anyone flown recently with their prosthesis and did you have any problems with TSA? My DH and grandson are going home soon and I dread going through TSA. If I am taken off to a room to prove what I have on my chest I'm concerned my grandson will be frightened about what is happening. I thought of putting my foobs in my carry on luggage with a note as to what these are and of course the underwire in the bra might draw attention also. What to do.............

Good morning all! Norma Jean, I have just posted on the other thread, I worked for an International Airline in Australia, but found your guidelines. I will carry a letter from my Surgeon when I travel.

Dawny, I do have the Marika sent to the MyUs address, but I believe they post to Australia now too. I haven't checked the prices they charge.
Hi Fia, that's a very close watch that you're on now. It was Granwe who had the side effects, it was what she called F'ing Femara! I miss her too.
I don't know if this is of any interest to you, but I have heard changing to the Generic brand of Tamox and sometimes remove a lot of Se's, I don't know why.
Thursday again, so I am off to visit my friend this morning. I hope she has had some good news this week, it hasn't been too good, for the past few weeks.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the warmer weather, cheers...M x

Hi All! M, I hope you get positive news from your friend.. fingers crossed for her.
Fia, there is a couple of Tamoxifen threads and what M says is correct, sometimes switching the brand has helped some women. I currently take Teva brand and am doing pretty good on it, we think my weight gain might be from it, but can be from the Herceptin as well. I do have a bit of stiff joint issues and night sweats as well as hot flashes, but considering some of the SE's other women have reported, I am not complaining of those.
Hugs to everybody.. one of these days I'll catch up... just have had a lot going on, which I guess is a good thing I do think of you guys often!!

Hi ldesim, so good to see you. I was expecting you to flip out over me buying more Marika!
What happened, I'm almost disappointed! LOL
No, my dear friend hasn't had any good news and she is now preparing herself for the worst, all treatments have been exhausted. She has decided that traveling long distance for drug trials, is not what she wants to be doing, she's just tired out.
I am off to have my hair cut after lunch, so I will catch you all later today! M x

Hi Norma, I flew to San Diego in January and wore my prosthesis and had no problem, guess I never even gave it a thought, the bling on the back pockets of my jeans caused a very short pat down , the lady behind me in line warned me it would happen, so on return flight I wore plain trousers, the gal doing the patting just joked about it. Hope things go good for you too.
I have been very busy lately but try to read, greetings to all!

Hi Everyone!!
I saw my MO today and he said I am doing really well. Always good to hear! He spotted the sore on my ear right away and said I should get it biopsied. Just like my PCP, he said he couldn't tell what it was either. I have a divit now where the sore is. MO said if it is cancerous, I would need to see a PS to have it cut out and the area repaired. I may end up with a hole in my ear if they have to cut it out.
I told him that I saw my PCP at the end of April and he suggested either do a biopsy or freeze the area. I said biopsy and he said freeze. My MO just chuckled. I see my PCP on the 5th of June so will have biopsy done then. I need to have a derma check too!
Ariom, so sorry to hear about your friend.
Hugs for everyone!!

GrammaB,
So sorry about all this trouble with your ear I am hopeful it is not cancer
M, I am so sorry for your friend and hope she can have her pain managed
Idesim and M , Thanks for the Tamox info. I am required by insurance to get all routine medications via mail order so I am at their mercy re brands. The first 90 days I received the Teva brand and the side effects were minimal . The last 4 months they have sent the Watson brand and it is awful. I am told "they can no longer get the Teva brand. I intend to tray and appeal as this will be a long 5-10 years . I can handle all the side effects expect this awful hip pain . M I cannot imagine how you live with it . But again I am still above ground and feel guilty complaining about anything as others have it so much worse .
Have a great day everyone

M, so sorry about your dear friend. Poor friend. I am thinking of her.
Fia, doing happy dancing for you! Glad for your stable news. All this skin check stuff is quite serious. Should do that myself, but have many other appointments going at the moment.
M, I will pick up where idesim left off. It is definitely making me laugh -- and I am not well today, I may have strep -- to see you revving up the troops for a Marika buy out! Will wait for updates.
I must say, I have been strip-searched at the airport, myself. I had chicken cutlet on left side. I had no note from my sx -- didn't think about it.

ndgirl...........thank you for your info and the giggle I got from your explanation of the bling on the back of your jeans. Don't think this old lady has any jeans w/ bling so not problem there!!

Good morning everyone, gosh it it's so quiet here these mornings.
I was run ragged yesterday, big day in the garden, everything done, till the next big leaf drop. I did a morning tea for the 4 of us and we sat in the sun, chatting for an hour. I went to the supermarket for a big food shop and a massage at 3.30. I had a Doctor's appointment at 5pm, was still sitting there almost asleep at 6.15pm. The great news is, no more bone meds. He was surprised that I had waited the 8 weeks to see him and said no don't take any more, those are severe enough SE's to stop taking it. Who knew, I thought I was going to have a battle with him, I had even written a list of the SE's for him and had my argument rehearsed.
Back to the Vit D and the big horse pills of calcium, no problem there and after a week without the tablet, I am feeling almost normal again and will look into the gym again, now that I am not battling the headaches, bone pain and upset stomach that have kept me at home and indoors. Poor Dex hasn't been getting his walks either, so all in all it is a good outcome I think!
Bobo, I did have a bit of a Marika spree, can't help myself!
I am so sorry you have a bad throat, I hope it doesn't hang around, can you eat lots of garlic on the weekend?
I haven't flown yet, with a Prosthesis, but I must remember not to wear my fave Foam Foob, it has metal pellets to give it weight. I usually set off the alarms, with jewellery, and I have jeans with studs on the back pockets too! It has always been the wand, never a pat down. I have become so adept at removing a Prosthesis from the side of its pocket, to show the girls at the meetings, that I could whip it out and give them a slap to the side of the head with it, if they want to pat me down because of it! LOL
Fia, I hope you can find a cheap replacement for the Tamox that reduces the SE's. Boy, I sure do understand the hip pain, in fact all the joint pain you may have. I am lucky, the steroids that destroyed my bones, actually really help with the RA. I get long term relief from steroid injections into the joints too. Hips, shoulders, elbows mainly. As silly as it sounds, having RA has definitely raised my tolerance to pain, so I can actually wait much longer for pain meds. It has to be a really bad flare, for me to take anything at all. I hate taking anything.
Don't ever feel bad about telling us how you feel, when it is shared, it is halved, well not the F'ing pain, per se, but it always feels better when we share with friends. We all understand!
Aldi has its copy of the Vitamix on sale today, my gf's and Bec were all waiting for their respective Aldi stores to open at 8.30am this morning to get one.
I hope you've all have a great day....M x

It IS quiet here. I guess now that spring has sprung, everyone is out enjoying it.

stupid hot flashes. It's almost midnight and I'm still tossing and pillow flipping. Argh!
Relay for Life was tonight. Kids had a blast at the orchard. My gfs were there but I was disappointed I didn't recognize many. The place I worked at 5 years ago put my name on their shirt along with others. Disappointed I didn't see very many I knew.
I probably already know the answer but...
My scar feels like it's tightened down. I didn't think it would adhere again. Affects arm movement. Have to get a new referral and start all over again. Not what I want to do while trying to get ready for my trip. However I don't want to lose any mobility while I'm gone.
Can I do anything besides call the RO? Will it resolve itself or get worse?
Have a play date tomorrow with a local Irish family. Looking forward to it IF boy behaves. He disagrees with everything I say. Is it a phase? Also he had a big blowout at orchard tonight. I think he waited too long, played too hard and got too hot. Note to self: restock diaper bag. There aren't any bathrooms at the playground. Only a porta potty. Ugh.

Hi Zills! Sorry you're flashing and flipping! It's a horrible feeling.
I don't know anything about scars readhering, are you still having massage done? Maybe try myofascial release and stretching exercises. I hope you can get it sorted before you go away on your trip.
I'd say it is just a phase, kids love to challenge you. Have fun at play date! You may haveto be a negotiator with the boy! M x

Zills, I'm taking a low dose of Effexor for hot flashes. It helps a lot.
With the boy, I'd say a phase. Be firm, don't cave!
