oh I'm a happy camper now. I just figured out how to post pics here from my iPod Touch. Here's Ava wearing her party hat.

no, O2, I'm not on any hormone treatment. I am getting a hystectomy next month due to my insanely high estrogen levels. 55 and I can't be in menopause? What the F is up with that?

my BFF just brought me this plate back from Brazil. I just love it.

Overcoming One ,
I don't know what M and Bobo's famous recipe is but I like this one form the vitamix web site . My second favorite is the potato soup recipe on the site
https://www.vitamix.com/Find-Recipes/C/A/Carrot-Ginger-Tofu-Soup?RSRCH=1
I am far from an expert so maybe Bobo or M will respond with their recipes

I don't have a Vitamix... but I do have a Ninja for smoothies and it is da' bomb! I eat a banana/mango smoothie just about every day ... either for breakfast or after dinner for a treat. Pretty sure I'd never juice or make soup with the Vitamix on a regular basis, but I've only had the Ninja about a month and can't believe how often I've used it. If nothing else, it's a great way to use up the bananas!

Whew! Just back from a fabulous lunch and here you all are talking Vitamix! I had corn fritters with a poached egg and Turn your head Bobo!! crispy bacon and avocado salsa, it was superb!
You'll love the Vitamix 02! They are ridiculously expensive over here, like $1200.00!!!! I bought mine from a friend on a shopping forum that I belong to, because she just didn't use it enough, so I got it at a fraction of the new price, even though it had hardly been used.
The difference is as 02 says, 2 horsepower, I think motor. It runs at about 400km and can break down the whole raw veg and fruit, splitting the cell wall of the item for more nutrition. You can also do fruit and veg juices, where it uses the whole fruit and veg, unlike the other juicers, which remove the fiber.
The soup is ready to eat in 7 minutes, steaming hot and you can taste, every single item that you put in it. Cleaning is a breeze! Colin's favorite is:
2 cups of filtered water, 2 small whole carrots, 1 stick of celery, half a red onion, 2 scallions, half a zucchini, 2 tomatoes, 2 cloves garlic, an inch of ginger, a handful of either basil or coriander, handful of baby spinach, a big handful of raw cashews and a hand full of Kale, some chilli flakes if you like them. Just scrub everything but don't bother cutting up, put on the lid and pulse a few times to chop everything, push down with the tamper till it is all chopped up into tiny pieces and then turn on to high turbo for 7 minutes. We have this with warm olive bread or sourdough garlic bread. I add, turn your head Bobo! shredded chicken breast to the bowls first, then flow the soup over the chicken. If you haven't guessed, Bobo is Vegan, so she would never add the other stuff that I eat!
There are hundreds of recipes for the Vitamix, with many on YouTube showing how to make all kinds of things. I make my own nut butters, almond milk, macadamia milk and the best sorbet and ice cream. I have a smoothie done in the Vitamix every morning, with Vegan Smart Vanilla meal replacement, almond milk, frozen banana, and a handful of frozen berries, a spoonful of coconut yogurt and some mega greens with probiotics. I can go for hours and hours without getting hungry.
Bobo insisted I get a Vitamix, when I asked if anyone had one. She was absolutely right. The Vitamix and the Airfryer are the 2 best appliances I have ever bought. I use them both every day and have cleared out my cupboards of heaps of appliances, that they have replaced.
The others have been through so much Vitamix chat, but without sending them nuts, explaining everything again, I will say, I recommend it really highly and often search for recipes on the internet to try. It is so easy, because I have problems with my RA in my hands, I love that I don't need to cut things up, it does it for me.
ndgirl, I could do a great soup with your produce from the garden. I would have loved to join you at the pool, what a lovely way to spend the day!
We have a different meaning for the "outlaws" in Aus they are the "in laws", that we don't get along with. Glad to hear you get on well with yours js!
I am in the bag for your chemo Stacey, what can I bring? Bobo usually brings beer and she can get belligerent! Zills keeps the peace!
My friend wishes you all the best for next week JS, she has one more to go, after this Wednesday, it has been 4 months of chemo, every 2 weeks, she has to travel to Melbourne, 4 hours each way for the treatment and stays there overnight, after each treatment. She is going to move up to Sydney with her son, who lives there, for her 6 weeks of radiation, which starts in about a month. She asked that I give you a hug from her! So consider yourself hugged by both of us! Take it easy everyone! M x

No peace this time from me. I'm either roaring or raging. Bring tissues, chocolate and a/d. But I will be there. The first one is scary because it's unknown but you can do it. It gets easier. Stay strong!
Please pray for me to know what to do. My marriage is in trouble. I'm seriously thinking about leaving. I don't want my kids to think this is what marriage is but I don't want to disrupt them if I don't have long.
The boy starts school on wed and I have my scans. I stopped the Effexor too due to SEs. Lousy timing.
I made it thru all the treatments so I should be able to handle this. It just hurts so bad. And the middle of the night is the worst as we all know.

Oh Zills I am so sorry it has come to this. I just want to hug you right now. I just hate to think of you hurting and going through this alone.
I can only imagine, what you're going through right now, please focus on you, the kids will be happy, if they know they are loved.
The middle of the night is the worst, everything is magnified and time goes slowly. I am not one who prays, but my heart is just breaking for you. I hope you can find peace and the clarity to know what to do.
Please stay close and let us know what you're doing and you know if there is anything, at all can do, just ask. Love you! M x

oh Zills. My heart breaks for you!!!! Are you sure this marriage can't be saved???? You have not been sick long but I know how it takes everything you have to give. Bide some time as things can look differently on different days. If you need to chat........ We need a chat room!!! I know how the wee hours in the morning can be the toughest. So many of us are up just don't know how to connect at that midnight hour.
Love and hugs!!!

I'm at DS house with the 2 younger grandchildren.

O2: can you see an icon (above) that looks like a square with "scenery" in it? on my screen, it is towards the right side of the above icons. Like the smiley face will give you the emoticons, etc.If you click on that, it should take you to another place where it will say insert image. click on choose file and it should let you search for the pic you want in your computer. Then I think it asks if you want to "insert" it,, or something like that. Hope that helps!! I'm on my work computer now,, so no piccies here, and the browser is old so the above icons are a little different than on an updated browser.
I was really surprised that I figured out how to do it from the iPod Touch,, it's so small and certain things don't work that well on it. But I think you should be able to do it with your iPad.0 -
M: I looked at the 5 Tibetan Rites. I don't know if I can put that much pressure on my arm cuz of the LE issue,,,,, it does seem like a good program to maintain flexibility though. hmmmmmmedit: i tried the first step. Wow, I get dizzy fast.

Oh Zills (((HUGS))), things in the middle of the night are always the worst...I am a praying person, not afraid to admit it but do not push it on anyone else and dont judge whatever every person choses for themselves, sending many for you and whatever is causing you to doubt marriage.. we are all here for you anytime.
Wren, you could be on to something about the Effexor? I have no experience so couldnt say for sure but do know first hand, some meds can mess us up. Have fun with your grandkids.

I say F Effexor. I know it works for a lot of people, but getting off of it is a beitch. My ex-hubby used to get withdrawal symptoms if he missed just one dose. My neighbor is trying to get off of it now. Zills, Wren has a really good point. Did you stop Effexor all at once? I know you don't like the SE's but maybe a smaller dose to taper down would help??
Sending hugs and chocolate.

bunny Ava sends love and kisses.

I did taper down before Ireland. I'm already on an emotional tailspin so dropping that last little bit shouldn't make a big difference. Thanks for all your support.

ok, I just saw a picture of a stereotactic biopsy.Bobo,, I don't think I can stay sober for that. I think I will need Medicating. Notice Medicating with a capital M. I need to inquire how much Ativan they will give me. It may not be enough.

Glennie, you won't feel anything after the first stick. If you do, TELL THEM!! They can use more!!!!

it's the laying on your stomach with your head turned to the side. That will be a problem with my messed-up neck. AND your breast is squashed between x-ray plates?? Yeah,, THAT sounds pleasant,,, like a mammogram that never ends. I have a very dense breast with cysts, etc,,, so it seriously hurts when they squash it.0 -
Glennie, Spookiesmon is right, it isn't a bad procedure and after the first sting, I didn't feel a thing, either time! I have had 2 of them. I know Bobo will say, I feel nothing, but I promise, if I thought you would need medicating for it, I would say so.
Cute pic of Ava, but I don't think she's loving the bunny ears! LOL
Zills, can you talk to anyone? Your sister? anyone?
0 -
Glennie, you're right, the lying still, is the worst part of this procedure. My first one was done on my side, elevated off the ground, with my breast in the mammogram plates, but the anesthetic made it completely numb, so no squashing sensation at all. My recent one was on my back and into a numb chest, so nothing at all.
Perhaps a couple of pain killers, or anti inflammatory pills, before the procedure as insurance, might help if you have a bad neck? M x

Ava refuses to wear clothing. No tee shirts for my Diva, but she doesn't mind the head gear. She will usually pose nicely for me wearing the silly things that I buy her. She was actually wagging her tail as I took this pic, it just looks like she's unhappy cuz she is sticking her tongue out at me.It's the breast SQUASHING/head turned to the side,, and the needle sticking in my breast that bother me. Otherwise,, I'm fine,,,,,

Due to the bleeding, they said I can't take my anti-inflammatories. Phooey.0
