F Shands indeed; Shands has almost killed me twice already. They said they wouldn't give me any "relaxing" meds until PS showed up (he was already in bldg, had just done Ally) because he needed me to stand up for marking. Really? No ativan so I can stand up? Please. Trying not to be bittter. Had better nurse last time!

How are you feeling this morning Bobo?

one advantage I have of actually working at hospital is that I know some of the anest's and who gives the good stuff. Knocks you out right away. I told GYN I want a certain guy and she says yes he's good.
Off to breakfast. More later

Oh Bobo, sorry you have had a tough time again, but you are through it now. Hope you can rest some, I know it must be so difficult to do with kids, work, etc. You are so kind to think of DLLP, it is hard for everyone isnt it? just in different ways. Take it easy and slow.
Glennie, so love your pics, I love the ocean even tho I am in a land locked state!! love lakes too.. heck even sloughs up on our land that sport lots of geese, ducks and pelicans. Our weather is beautiful now but the ocean has such a calming effect on me. DH has a sister in North Carolina and we have never seen the Carolinas so maybe when he retires we can go for a visit and sit at ocean, they are very close. Enjoy your time and hope your Mom gets to have a walk.
Had a long visit with Marilyn and she is doing great now.. so glad to hear that. She too is amazed at no pain from surgery, just stiffness etc and has learned that when she over does anything she pays the price. Thanks for all the good wishes for her, she is a special gal.
So far today the dreaded ache is not showing up, last night I took some 222's, (has codeine and inbuprofin and can buy over counter in Canada) I slept like a baby and so far so good, but of course I slept late and so far havent done much yet so will see as day wears on.
I am worried about GB too, she must be with DD in CA, missing her. In the bag JS! Zills has the best advice. Zills.. thinking of you so much these days too
Big hugs to everyone.

In the bag with ya til you feel better! How sweet you got DLLP a ccare package.. I think it is harder on those who love us than on us.

Bobo, Hope you're feeling better soon. Not sure what you had done. I was given dilaudid once and discovered I hallucinate on it. It didn't work with my eyes open and when I closed them I had a read a newspaper full of those little filler articles. So, no more of that.
Jsj just posted on Caring Bridge that she's had the pre-cocktail and has a place by the window in the infusion room.

another Vitamix convert. Maybe I need to look into that.
Thanks for the Caring Bridge update. I need to get a link to that. Chemo is scary. All this shit is scary.
Bobo: how you doing? Wishing you were here by the beach.
0 -
forgot to mention. I found a starfish on the beach. It had just washed up so I wasn't sure if it was dead or not. I threw it back just in case. Hope it made it. It hadn't washed up again when I walked back by that spot.
Had some pool time with my nephew before the rain came again. He is severely autistic but loves the water. He is definitely happiest there. He let me pull him from end to end and even high-fived a lady we just met. That is how he greets people. High five with each hand. My brother was so shocked that he did that with a stranger.
Better morning shot. I just love sunrise and sunset.

Hello all! Wren, thanks for keeping everyone posted today. You should have seen Sailman today. he was so sweet. He carried my purse eveywhere for me. It was kind of heavy from the Nook and bottle of water, but he didn't mind at all. Once I got set up, I pulled you all out of my purse and we just had a nice nap under the heated blanket they brought me. Finding out when they drew the blood yesterday that the port cath wasn't going to hurt took some of the anxiety out of today. I didn't have a reaction to the chemo at all. I go back next Tuesday at 9:00 for part II, round I. Thank y'all for being there with me. Bobo, hope you are doing better. Glad to hear that Marilyn is doing well ND.. Well, I keep falling asleep at the key board and think it might be time for another nap.. any takers?
much love,
Stacey

Morning all! JS so wonderful to see you, I went to Caring Bridge as soon as I got up, so pleased it all went well for you! I hope you had a good rest, hugs to you and Sailman...he's so, a keeper!!!! I am there next Tuesday, for you!
Glennie, lovely sunrise, enjoy the beach. I hope your Mother can get down there for a walk.
The Vitamix brigade will try to convert you Glennie!
Wrenn, you just explained my reaction to some drugs and almost all anesthetics! When I wake, I have to stay awake, because if I shut my eyes, the "evil cartoons" start. I can't tell you how awful it is, it is just like watching cartoons on a tv, but the characters are all evil! Yuck That is why I will opt to stay awake for any procedure I possibly can.
02, I just got notification this morning that the camisoles I bought from Victoria's Secret arrived at MyUs, I have a few other things that I am waiting on to arrive there, including all the Metromedical stuff, so I will then organize for it to be consolidated and sent here. It is the only way I can get decent postage costs to Australia and if I give the go ahead to post on Friday evening our time, it is usually at my door on Tuesday.
ndgirl, I am so pleased you had a good visit with Marilyn and that she's doing well. I am sure she's overdoing it like we all have. Did you word her up about the Claw and the Fall Forward?
I am just waiting for the painters to arrive, it will be a mess around here for a few days, at least. I will just have to deal with it if I want everything finished.
Take it easy everyone, I will check back later! M x

js, so glad you are okay! Sailman carried all of us in your heavy purse!
Glennie, I'm okay -- it's kind of a punk-feeling day today, though, as all the anaesthetic wears off. And the block. I have a 99.1 "fever" and DLLP is really worried, but I think it's fine. PS tomorrow. You're taking such pretty pictures at the beach!
M, what color are the painters doing? And O2 -- so funny that we have the same color Vitamix! I should be doing more soups with the V right now, but I am only managing protein shakes at the moment. XXX
0 -
Hey Bobo! Glad you're with us, but the fever isn't good. Paracetamol? Protein shakes are good! Keep your strength up! Take care my lovely!
The interior of the house is painted the same all the way through, in a soft satin paint, called "New York", it is an off white calico sort of color, that goes with everything. We had Roman blinds made that are the same color. I know it sounds a bit boring, but it works, the front of the house is all glass, so lots of light. We have wormy chestnut oiled floors, Ash doors, ash kitchen and all the window frames are Cedar. There is Indian slate flooring too, so the soft color on the walls offsets everything else. The interior brick walls have a 1/2 New York 1/2 water, wash on them to tie in and the bathrooms have travertine tile with natural stone accents.
The studio will be stark white all over, including the beams and the big barn doors. I will paint the floor in wide sea-glass aqua and white stripe! I love that color and have used it in the house, as an accent too. I can't wait to get that done now.
Now aren't you glad you asked me that? A simple description of the paint color and you get a renovation rant! M x

thats why I was warm today, napping under the heated blanket!
Stacey, sailman is so sweet to carry all of us! Glad round one went well. Back in the bag next Tues!

mom got a walk. Then I got the chairs and parked them at the water's edge so we get our toes wet. She likes that. I had two walks today. Which was good cuz I ate like a pig at breakfast and lunch. There is a decent diner right across the street. Veggie omelet for breekie and gyro sandwich for lunch. Nephew is doing good at the quieter hotel. Glad we came here.

Bobo: still got fever? Take tylenol? In the bag for PS tomorrow and he better be nice or I'll jump out and smack him.
0 -
Bobo.. I am with Glennie. If you need, I will come out with the "flying bitchslap!". M~ It sounds lovely! Pop back in a bit. Much love,
Stacey

Ooh, Stacey and Glennie! Many thanks for the offer of bitch slap! Allergic to tylenol. Hoping it's just slightly high from all the trauma my body just went through. Will check again in the morning.
M, your reno description sounds great! Love those floors. X

Nice to hear JLS and Bobo are doing ok. We need some kind of team name as we cheer each other on. OK.. me in a cheerleading outfit just killed that idea.
Glennie - great pictures. It looks so peaceful there. I grew up on Lake Michigan, and it's funny how I took all that beauty and serenity for granted growing up. I still remember the coolness of the air and the smell of the lake at night.
M - you sure you don't do drugs? How anyone can go as much as you do without some kind of picker upper is amazing. I'm thinking Bobo sent something over to Colin and he slips it into your coffee every morning! BTW, your house, and now your studio, sounds so beautiful. I just imagine you floating around picking up awesome things for your awesome house on your awesome island.
ND - I have occasional throbbing type pains by my sternum. I guess they would be where my scar ends if I were to think about it. I had them yesterday as a matter of fact...but they usually settle down without me doing anything. Maybe we all just have our own 'unique' aches in that area. I feel fortunate that I don't have any itching, or the claw...but I do have tightness that I feel mostly at night.
Zills - So sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it right now. First Susan, and now you. The last thing you need is added stress...so big hugs to you. I think a lot of us look up to you and the strength you've managed to have throughout all of this...but just remember, it's ok to let others help you sort some of this out. There is strength in numbers as they say, and you are not alone.
I have spent the last day and a half painting dd's room. Well, I should
say my sister, dd, and myself painted her room. So much work, and I
seriously can barely walk tonight. Legs, ankles and feet really hurt.
All that balancing on the ladder really did me in, but I'm very glad to
have it done... and the room looks great (2 colors). M - I see you
hired your painting done.... smart woman that you are. Next time, I
think I'll be taking that route.Hi to everyone else. Geesh, I have written a small novel here. It's late... I should be sleeping... maybe it's the paint fumes!

Hiya PRB good to see you!
No not drugs, but I do consume huge amounts of nutrient dense stuff like Spirulina with Pro Biotics and maxi greens with all different types of plant protein and superfoods. I call it my rocket fuel! If I start to feel like I am flagging, it will pick me up! At least, I think it does! That's why I am always like a Mom, banging on at Bobo to get her protein etc! All done with love! she never takes offense and loves to stir me up! lol
I don't know what it is about, people imagine me swanning/ floating around picking stuff for the house..lol Bobo thinks so too! The truth be known, I can be like a headless chook (chicken) trying to find stuff at the Opp Shop., yard sale, or in town. I don't care where I get stuff, so long as it suits my idea, of the theme. I am too much of a klutz to float around!!!!!lol The house is a really casual, coastal style, not fussy or formal in any way.
I always used to do all my own painting too, and lots of other small DIY jobs, loved it, but the years and the RA have stopped me enjoying that. I can do small areas, but this place is pretty big. The painting that is going on now, is just the finishing up of what was started, when we first moved here.
As soon as I was Dx 4 months after arriving, and had to have surgery, I sent the tradesmen away, not wanting to deal with the noise and the smell of paint etc, thinking I could just get them back any time, but as it turned out I had to wait till now to assemble them all again for the final push to finish it all.
You nailed it, about our Zills, she is an inspiration, we are all very protective of our girl!
I hope you get a good rest and won't be too sore tomorrow! Take it easy!!!!! M x

Excellent theory, PRB, about me and Colin! And, oh my good lord. Vitamix, the Rites, and now you've got her started on the Green Vibrance? Got some, sent a box to Z.. I don't want to speak for Z here, but I cannot get that stuff down.
Up taking pain meds, Missed it by an hour. Ouch!
In the bag for Z's scan this morning.

Well, well, well, my ears were burning, I knew there were disparaging remarks being made about me and my interests, Miss Bobo!
You're the Vegan and you can't take the greens? what's up with that? lol
Don't be missing the pain meds, you'll have me doing the Shirley MaClaine scene in the Hospital again, screeching like a banshee for your meds!
Why are you up? Oh ok, getting meds, that's ok. It is dinner time here, I was wondering if you were resting, but noooo you're here taking the piss out of M!
How is the temp? Hugs to you! M x

haven't tried any Green Vibrance but I like this juice called Green Machine by Naked. Got lots of goodness in it.
And I just tried a new one peach mango chia. Also tasty. I almost guzzled the whole bottle.
So Colin doesn't slip stimulants in your tea? Cuz I'm thinking I need to try your rocket fuel.
0 -
Ha ha! Glennie corroborates PRB's theory! Love how PRB refers to drugs as a 'picker-upper.'
Temp normal. Post op today at 9:00. I think PS won't be there, just PA, which is always a drag, because she doesn't know what she's doing.
Glennie, I can drink green machine, and I can make green juice (Vitamix). Green Vibrance is a powder you take in water (or juice?). Oh man. It is vile. M is all like, Just suck it down! What is wrong with you?!
It's funny, M. I woke up thinking about that S MacLaine scene. And guess what? The night before my sx, I heard my owl! I can't believe it! Didn't hear him on subsequent nights. Just that one!
0 -
Hey there Bobo, way to go, no temp, you were right, it was your body reacting to what it went through.
I am in the bag for the appointment today. Just give me the nod and I'll sort her out, if she upsets you!
That's interesting, your Owl hasn't been around for a while has it? Another positive signpost!
Haha, that Shirley MacLaine scene is very me. I have done similar when Bec was small and in Hospital and for both my Parents when they were gravely ill. I have zero tolerance, for medical incompetence.
Well, it's bedtime for me, another day of painters tomorrow...chat later...M x

Well I am up after 4 hours of sleep! Couldn't sleep last night and damn I think I need some rocket fuel! Um yes, a little picker-upper Bobo. Hah.. I had a few of those many years ago during my college days. As M said, yes it was the 70's!
M - you can't hide it. We know you're just flitting around with long flowing gowns, sprinkling magic dust as you go and waving your magic wand at the servants! What was that you say? You're off to town for another massage? *smile*
Glennie, I saw that green stuff by Naked. Maybe I'll pick some up. I buy the Mango puree and it is really good. So much easier than wrestling with real mangos for sure. I just bought the berry one yesterday, but haven't tried it yet. That green stuff kind of scares me, but if you and Bobo both drink it...it can't be tooo bad...right?
Bobo, that's good news about no temperature. About time something went right for you with those surgeries. I'm still kind of amazed you're still going to that PS. I think I would have ran for the hills from him. I looked back thinking I missed it, but still not sure what you had done. Just glad it worked out for you this time.
I'm laying in bed because I know once I get up, my sister - the task master - will have a million things for me to do. I kept correcting her yesterday because she kept saying this 'we' stuff... 'we' need to touch up the paint.. 'we' need to pull those weeds on the side of your house...'we' need to do blah blah blah...when in reality it's mostly ME. Man, I really need some rocket fuel.... or those little black pills from the 70's.

Good morning all! In the bag for our Zills and Bobo today. Have my bitch slapper licked just in case . PRB ~ I make a pick me up cocktail with a caffeine supplement and Super B complex vitamin. Of course, I have my coffee IV going most of the day on top of that. So far, only mild grumblings in my stomach. I woke up feeling pretty good today. A friend of ours is bring supper tonight so I don't have to worry about throwing something in the crock pot. They started me on magnesium yesterday, not sure why exactly other than what I picked up about it googling. Thanks again for all being in the bag for me yesterday. Much love, Stacey

climbing stairs a lot at beach motel cuz it has a cranky elevator. You know what? I'm in crap shape. This has to change after HX. I gotta get in the vita-mix /green gang and get some exercise going.
Did I mention that I saw another starfish? I think it's an omen but not sure of what. Asking a friend who is really into that. Will report back.
Stacey: glad you are feeing so good!
Bobo: in the bag for appt. really to jump out and bitch slap. Is this your only choice for PS? Anyone else you can see? 2nd opinion? Just a thought.
PRB: yes, that's how I picture M too! Try the green. It's pretty good. Blue machine also good.
0 -
bitch slappers unite! I'm still waiting to be deaccessed and so are others. Only one nurse in unit, none available in other units. Been here 3 freakin hours for 20 min test!!!! Plus IV line broke and I have stuff in my hair. Thankfully didn't have to repeat test.
JSJ. I didn't think about the port. It's painless as you know now. I'm sorry you were anxious needlessly. Yea chemo "agrees" with you.
