Glennie, I have had two of them with no problems. no aspirin for sure or anything like it. I did bleed a little afterwards, but they put a bandage on for it. They talk to you the whole time and make sure you are not too uncomfortable. Will be thinking of you! The first time i had it I was kinda shocked... (it was several years ago) didnt know anything about it, but made it thru just fine and you will too. Keep us posted.

I hope Ava enjoys camp, The one we take Dex to is lovely! The owners put Dex in with the ones that are pining for home, he runs them ragged, playing all day and then snuggles up with them at night! He's a social little guy, considering how badly he was treated, before he came to us. M x

I have a question for you gals... the last week or so I have been having weird sensations where my left boob was. Not really pain just kinda like a dull ache. Doesnt make any difference on movement etc. There is no lumps or bumps there, just this ache which seems deep if that makes sense!! Just wondering if any of you have ever experienced anything like this? It is becoming annoying. I will admit I have not been so faithful to do my stretching excercises as I was, could this be the problem? I have full range of arm tho.???????

ndgirl, does it feel muscular? or is it deeper than that?
I still massage with oils every day, that's how I found that lump. I do experience some nerve pain, even now, but not all the time. I had a really deep ache, that referred through to the back, when I hurt my side with the bike, so you may have hurt yourself without realizing it and you're still feeling it. I hope it resolves soon for you.
Freezing cold here and it looks like we are going to have a rain "Event" right down the eastern side of the country over the next few days.

O I have a Vitamix too! Small world! I love it and use it almost daily, lots of smoothies. I am also vegan , I love fresh fruits and veggies in season so I try lots of combinations. Last night was strawberry, banana, ice, little water and voila…a marvelous healthy treat! Expensive but worth every penny.
O a chat room would be fun, I think it says they are going to get one going on this site? Midnight rendezvous club…ha.
Baby praying mantis on electrical outlet outside today, if I'm seeing this many I wonder how many I am not seeing out there. Eeeks.

Oh my goodness, I was hoping this one would be trouble free. She has been so unlucky with surgery, but I hope it is a fabulous outcome and she is happy with the results. M x

Nd , sometimes I have a dull ache too. But it might be the lymphedema. I tend to blame everything on that.
Drove thru a really bad rain storm, but made it to the beach!! And have wifi.

you can see how overcast it is, but I made it. Mom's legs are really bothering her. Having a hard time walking and she loves walking on the beach.

Had a lo estrogen day. Every time I try to type my dog moves my finger to the back of her neck for a quick massage!!! She is so funny!

Looks lovely Glennie, so sorry your Mother is having trouble walking, try to get her down to walk in the sea water, it is so good for you. We have whole football teams who come here and walk around in the water after training. Our lake is salt water, fed from the ocean on the other side of the dunes.

JSJ. I thought of pacman chomping on those cells. My priest would bless his sister's meds. DH always found snakes to watch on tv. I ate during and afterwards.
Try holding your thumb/fingers one at a time with your other hand. 5 min for each one. I did it in the car and waiting. It eases the anxiety.
I know I'm crazy but I think I'd rather do another round of chemo than go thru this emotional mess.
If you're having the red devil, you'll pee red. I did before I left and that was it. Drink/eat whatever sounds good. Worry about nutrition later. I'm still not there yet. Taste buds may come and go. I was into textures and cold things. There's no rhyme or reason as to what tastes good. I could eat Pringles but not potato chips. If it sounds good or smells good go for it. It was easier to reheat food than to smell it cooking. Try smelling peppermint. I wore a gum stash:$)
ND. My arm aches and my chest is tight like after BMX. I'm like glennie and blame it on LE but it could be too much gardening or hunched over the computer. I don't always feel stuff when I bend over. Have you tried ibuprofen? That may take out any residual swelling and watch the salt. Are you puffy?
It's the itching that's driving me mad and leg cramps. Tonight it's the bottom of my foot. Ouch! Also have like dry heaves while laying down.
Oh well. I'm still kicking and just have to get thru this week. Boy starts school and the scans plus get house back to normal.
Where's GrammaB? She been on any thread?

OMG! I get those cramps in the bottom of my feet too, sometimes I leap out of bed like an idiot, to stand down hard on it, because it feels like my arch will break. I think mine are from taking the steroids every day.
Is it the phantom itching that is bothering you? or real itching? My surgeon said the phantom itch would be gone in the first year, I've got news for him! lol

In the bag for o2 and marilyn and jsj. OMG. I turn my back for a minute and it's Vitamix and the Rites!
Can't talk for long now -- up for pain meds, but Glennie, Vitamix comes with a pretty fab cookbook. I needed a cookbook for the... approximations of ingredients. Got mine at QVC and made installments. A cranberry colored one. You can make breakfast, lunch, dips, dinner, juices -- I love my Vitamix. It has motor similar to plane.
Absolute best part of my day yesterday was that I found my new BCO friend Ally. In recovery room! I brought her care package -- it was so fun. Hi Helenna, you badas$!

Hey Bobo, how did it all go? Glad you some good times yesterday, but I can't get my head around the care package in the recovery room, what does that mean? Do we know Ally? Either I am losing it, or you're on drugs!!!! lol
The guy who sells the Vitamix on our shopping channel, says it could power a boat! So it could!

Oh, and alert: NO ATIVAN BEFORE SX! They said they did not have any and I should have doped it up at home! But I did not, for fear that they would then not do it there! The horror. Was completely sober and whimpering with fear as PS marked me up while I was naked. Could have used a tiny bit of Ativan.
Supplies are dwindling from January sx, but Glennie, I am holding. You can have pain-free biopsies, everyone is right. But why be sober either way? That 'no ativan' thing is really staying with me. Went in to pre-op by myself, leaving DLLP in waiting area. Would not let her come back because could not hold back tears of fear and hopelessness by then. She has been through so much. I wanted her to happily drink coffee and munch on excellent trader joe care package contents I got her (including meat stick). I do not want to hear a bunch of blowback from these home thread sisters about it! It is my sixth one and I didn't want to ruin DLLPs day more than it was already.

M, we post at the same time! Yes, there is a new friend Ally on the August sx thread, she had sx exact same day as me, same surgeon, and right before me! We just found out and we had not met yet! So I brought her a care package and they let me see her in recovery! Certainly great for me to see her looking so well!
And got DLLP a care package as well. Poor thing. She is worried all the time. I have to stay 'up' for her and eight-year-olds. They have been through so much.
So yes. No ativan, then nerve problem of some kind with the worst part of my disfigured area post-op. They had decided no block. But then an excellent lesbian doctor called nin swooped in. I was doing my best not to cry, fuss, etc. I find when you do that people back off and ignore you. Well, I haven't done it, but I have heard of it in others. Nin and Debra, excellent anaesthetic nurse working with the Anaesthesiologist, swooped in and put a million things in IV, then did block. I must say, that was worst pain in all sx combined.
As far as rest of update is concerned, am completely wrapped in bandages, oozing blood and fluids, so cannot tell much. In pain when moving at all, even though have Dilaudid, so have no concept of how bad it would be without it. DLLP taking another day off tomorrow, though I told her not to, because PS came out and said to her, This is going to be very painful. You know if PS says that -- they are inherently sadist -- it's not good. In other news, MD no call, no show, never said she was coming. She's back in town from upstate NY and she lives ninety minutes away. Not that I wanted visitors, but.. just nothing. And then she will call at some point and attempt to suck all the details out of me, then call everyone and tell them everything, stressing what a good mother she is. I swear. If I ever suddenly realized I had treated our Princess this way, I would kill myself from shame.

I "get" why you didn't want to upset DLLP, you have a sweet soul and you got her a care package too! Too good!
Anyhoo, how are you feeling now? are you swinging from the chandeliers with the remainder of last surgery drugs? Shame I couldn't have given you my lot, I never opened the boxes!
Now please tell me you have some time off, to get over this one? Can you get some rest?

I have a week, but must work from home starting Wednesday. New job starts next week!
PS was pretty nice, for him. But we were all waiting for the markup -- nurse anaes and other nurse all standing by -- because they could not give any 'relaxing meds' until he did markup. Long interval. What else does he have to do? I was up next, he had already seen Ally. They did not want me to fall down while standing up for the markup.
Not swinging from chandeliers with these meds, but they take the edge off. Do not want kids to see me 'on drugs.' Really F'd up that ativan thing, that's for sure! Can't have any now to make up for it, it doesn't go well with pain meds
I wish I had some of your V soup! Glennie, our M makes the best homemade soup recipes in the V.

Promise you'll rest? I knew you wouldn't have much time to recuperate. I wish I could send you some of the soup, this lot has chilli, it's a bit like rocket fuel, in a good way! Crunchy garlic bread in the air fryer!
I am going to make a big batch for my friend when she gets back from chemo on Thursday, without the chilli, just the ginger. She hasn't had any food issues, other than not wanting too much sweet stuff.
That post surgery stuff sounds awful, but lucky you had them around to do something. I know what you mean about the crying putting them off, I have never done it either, but I can make them stay away after surgery because I can become a bit of a spitting viper after anesthetic, a bit like Regan in the Exorcist! Another reason why I pass, on the drugs!
