Glennie, What kind of dog is Ava?

Thanks, M!  She is a Princess.

wren:  She has the body of an English Bulldog and the head of a pitbull!  I think she is an English Staffordshire Terrier, due to the fact that she is short and chesty,,(and mostly looks like those dogs in the photos)  but a lot of people think she is a pit bull. Rocco, my last pit bull, had a different body type than she does. Not quite as broad in the chest and much longer legs.  She is definitely of the bullie family, but not exactly sure what.  She's a rescue and don't know how old she is either.

They found a place and are going to retire here in   alabama right down the street !!!!!  How awesome is that???  They have no children and have been looking for somewhere to retire.....  And I am thrilled!!!!!!!!  We are going to pick out colors and stuff cuz they are going to build a house.... Then they leave tomarrow.    Wow. They got here Thursday and  boom. Found a deal and  that was quick!!!!  I am so happy!!!!  Never expected that!!!!

Glennie. Love your dog pics.  My computer crashed so ordered another one from QVC.  When I get that up and running I will put my puppies on here.  I can't do that from my iPad.     Glad you have some rest time at the beach.  It looked beautiful.

02, what wonderful news! Your best friend will be living close to you, soon. Don't you just love it when things just happen like that, definitely meant to be!

I have made some wonderful friends since moving here, but I do miss my best girlfriends. They come here to visit and I love to have them, but it is almost a 4 hour drive from Melbourne where they live, so although we get great quality time when they come, it isn't all that often.

I look forward to seeing your puppies! Have a great day! M x

O2:  How exciting!!  That will be so nice to have your friend nearby!

Bummer about your computer.  You have no puppy pics on the Ipad?  I use my Ipod touch and take pics and put up from there. I look forward to seeing them when you can!!

Glennie, We fostered a pit/basenji mix that resembled your dog. Found her a home with a great family who wanted a medium sized crate trained dog to take in their private plane. She courted them shamelessly. So cute to watch. Her name was Callie, although DH said she thought it was down, Callie, down.

O2, Great news. What fun to have a close friend move close by.

Hello ladies! Well it is evening here and I have barely moved from the couch all day. The RA has kicked my butt this weekend, so Dex and I have been snuggled up most of the day. It had been cold and wet, so there wasn't going to be much going on outside anyway.

We get lots of lizards here, of all sizes, big Blue Tongues and Shingle backs and lots of small Skink type lizards. Dex is afraid of all of them, he will bark, but backs away, which is good, 'cause I don't have to worry about him eating them. Dex is not a brave dog!

I am preparing for the onslaught of the tradesmen this week, the brickwork  will all be rendered and the internal painting, will move to the kitchen. I hope it will all be finished quickly and we can go back to the peace and quiet we've become accustomed to. I never thought I would say that, I used to love doing all kinds of renovations, but I think, at last, I am over it!

I hope all of you are having a lovely weekend. I am so looking forward to Spring, I have had enough of the Winter. I noticed some of the wild Freesias are out and the Daffodils are here. I don't have one, but the Magnolias are sensational in the gardens around us. I want to get back into Daylight Saving, when we can be outside till late in the evening and I can get my little Veggie Patch going again. Ahhh, won't be too long now!

    hey there y'all

I am sitting up in my chair this early AM as I just took the new med Fossomax which is suppose to protect me from osteoporosis from the Arimidex I am taking to stop estrogen.  K.  I cannot lay down for 30 minutes and I don't dare eat or drink either.  This d rug has very specific instructions.  :-(. I hate taking meds and this is the first time I have had to do that.

Ariom~~~~that is so funny that you are waiting for spring!  I got the early fall nesting feeling and am so looking forward to the cooler weather.  Snuggle with blankets  and make  homemade soup.   Yummy. Stormy cold weather. Love it!!!  But your daffodils are a good sign that spring is on its way.  Magnolia trees are beautiful but I tipped my head sideways when I read that cuz I don't think of Australia with magnolia trees.  I thought that was a southern USA tree only.  I need to learn more about the world!!!

I watched a QVC special on the vitamix last night. I couldn't sleep and enjoyed learning about my new machine which I have not had time to try.   Looking forward to some time to try some recipes.

Well. I cannot wait for my friends to get here....  That is a miracle and I thank God for His blessings!!! We will have so much fun!!!

I cannot seem to put pictures on my eye pad.... There is no picture icon on here to do that with.  I will figure it out on my new computer!

Well I will chat later. My half hour is up and I can lay down again!!!

    More later

Good morning. Boy asked if it was fall yet as we have leaves in the ground from showers. But you can smell the change in the air. My garden didn't  make it thru vac so I'm ready to rip it out and put out fall stuff.

Had to take him to ER last night with wheezing. Verdict pneumonia. He only had minor symptoms until after lunch. Just thought it was allergies until the bag of magic tricks stopped working. Had an hour long nebulizer.

So I guess no swimming today. Put baby in panties. Gluten for punishment. Could murder an Irish breakfast and some McVitties.

    Good Morning,

Glennie-oh yuk, lizards!  Every once in a while I see a small lizard, but thankfully I am a bit too north to have a lot of them around!  We do have frogs, lots and lots of frogs!

    Hi Spookie!

M-so sorry about the RA flare!  Just sucks!  I can't wrap my head around the weather there.  Here you are looking for signs of Spring and I am begging for winter!  It is hot and so very humid here.  I am totally over summer!

O2 - I was on Fosomax for years.  I never had any problem with it and went from osteoporosis to healthy bones.  I wasn't as diligent as you and took it with a drink in the am.  Been off that for 3-4 years and my last scan didn't even show osteopenia!  I can't imagine what my bones look like now!  So glad your friend is moving close to you!

Zills - so sorry the boy has pneumonia!  Those nights in the ER are so scary!  It always amazed me how quickly the kids could get so sick and then bounce back!  I hated the nebulizer!  Made my kids bounce off the walls.  I hope the baby does well in panties today.  You deserve a break!

Well, my former colleagues return to school on Tuesday.  I feel so out of sync, sort of lost.  Since I was 5 years old I have returned to school each year.  After teaching for most of my life, I feel saddened by the back to school ads and displays.  Then there is this nagging feeling that I am supposed to be doing something.... I didn't want to retire.  (Sigh)

O2:  you can drink plain water in the first 30mins,, just nothing else. The Fosamax has to be on empty stomach, as you know. But you can drink water at least.  I might have to start watching QVC so I can check out the Vitamix. And I'm confused,, is there no picture icon on the iPad??  Have you taken a picture with it?  Or do you have a picture that you can email to yourself, and then save to the iPad?  Maybe that would make the picture icon show up.

If I misunderstood you, and you can't find the icon on HERE to add a pic,,,, just above the reply box is some icons.  The one that is a square with what looks like a mountain scene inside of it,,, toward the right of the row of icons,, that is the one you click to add piccies on here.

M:  like most of us here in the States,, we are sick of the heat and waiting for fall! Sadly in FL, it will probably be late Oct or Nov before it comes to us!!  Enjoy your spring!! Hope your RA is better when you wake up today.

Zills:   UGH!  Sorry boy is sick with pneumonia! Not fun,,, and I hope he is better soon. Would send you an Irish breakfast if I could.

SGC:  I don't mind the lizards,, they are amusing to watch and they eat bugs. So I like them. I really hated that she killed it. But she's a dog,,, what can you do?  Sorry you are missing the back to school action. I haven't retired yet, so I don't know the feeling of missing a job. One of my co-workers will be retiring in a week and he is already wondering if he made the right decision. And he's 70 !!

And speaking of dogs,, I got to meet Bobodog!!  I went to visit Bobogirl and bring Starbucks,, and I got to meet Bobo-dog too. He is a big guy and has a healthy bark! No burglars will go in that house!  He likes belly rubs. Very sweet boy.

Public school starts here tomorrow. I live 2 blocks from an elementary school,,, so the morning traffic will be back. The summer went pretty darn fast.

Going to see the Helen Mirren movie,,, The 100 step journey today.

I have a friend who swears by her Ninja blender. So I got to wondering about the differences,, and was it worth it to spend the extra $$ for a Vitamix. So I found this:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/20/best-blender-vitamix-ninja_n_5351383.html

Glennie.  Well no I do not see any icons on here anywhere.......:-(. I would love to put pics on here.  How cool you got to meet bobogirl and bobodog!!!!!!  How fun!!!!  She seems to know a lot about the vitamix and can tell you the differences.  I am a newbie at all this!!!!!

Sgc~~~ that is so comforting what you shared about fosamax .   I hope I can get rid of the osteoporosis.

I am not coping quite as well as before BC.  I don't handle stress like I used to.  Just told a friend she cannot stay here while she looks for land to buy .  She bringing hubby and 2 dogs.  Just cannot handle it.  She will crawl in bed and want me to wait on her, fan her, cover her with blankets , etc etc.  I just can't handle it and I feel bad about that but she will have to find another nurse maid!!!  Before I could have dealt better.  I do not put so much on my plate these days to keep the stress level down. It is like my last nerve is raw.  This is probably a no estrogen feeling or something like that.  And if you push too hard I might bite.  That is unusual cuz really otherwise I am a very nice person...  :-/ oh well. This will pass too!!!  This whole breast thing is so unreal.   Who would have ever thought we all would be in this shape!!! Oh brother. Ok. I will stop venting now

Thanks for listening.  I will be more positive tomarrow

    NO2

Ps. I am pleased though to have taken care of myself.  I am the type that will suffer for the comfort of others.

Hellooooooo everyone, we have had the worst night of gale force winds and heavy rain. I got up this morning to no internet! I have been kicking around, with not much to do. No point in doing housework, the painters are back tomorrow, can't go outside, it is bucketing rain, so I have been watching the CI channel.

Colin just shouted that the internet was back, so I am happy to get back on!

Zills, I am so sorry to her the boy has pneumonia. I'd cook you a big Irish Breakfast! Take it easy!

Glennie, I am so jealous!!!! I want to visit Bobo and meet Bobo the dog in person. I hope our girl was doing ok!

I don't know the Ninja, but my Daughter got the Aldi version of the Vitamix and although not exactly he same, it does the job pretty well, at a fraction of the cost of the Vitamix.

I wish I could take the bone meds and get that amazing result. I am -3 osteoporosis, have been for 14 years, but I have such a dodgy stomach from the steroids I have been on for about 18 years, I can't take them. Damn drugs!

02 I don't blame you for not inviting your friend to stay, under those circumstances! Wow, waiting on a guest, like that,  isn't my idea of a fun time either!

The couch is looking good, today! Still too cold and wet to do anything outside....catch you later..M x

I'm watching a Vitamix commercial on QVC right now!  It does look impressive. It's $469 + free shipping.

O2:  the important thing right now is to take care of yourself. Good for you for telling your friend that she can't stay, You don't need to expend your energy baby-sitting someone who is perfectly able to take care of themselves! I mean,, you just had surgery two months ago!!   I wish I could explain the icons better. Hopefully you will be able to post pics when you get your new computer.

M: stay warm on the couch,,, seems like a great idea!!

Appt with my PCP tomorrow, and then back to work tomorrow night.  Vacay is over.

Hi Glennie, I can't believe the difference in price . They are $1200.00 here!!!! I would never have spent that, I bought mine from someone who bought it at full price, but never used it, so I got a great deal!

I am in the bag for tomorrow, let's do lunch! lol M x

Lunch sounds good, M.  My appt is at 10:45, so I should be finished just in time for lunch!

I typed up a list of things to talk about.  Keep my mind focused. Cuz I'm forgetting a lot lately!!

That's a HUGE price difference on the Vitamix!!!

Glennie, I have a little notebook that I jot things down in whenever I think of something I want to ask my Surgeon. I just hate it when you've finished your consult and you remember something you didn't ask about. Six months is a long time to wait to get and answer.

I find I get so easily distracted these days, I start one thing and then get distracted with something else, only to remember what I should be doing.

I am constantly amazed at the great disparity in prices, between our 2 countries. Even with the exchange rate and the freight, I usually get a much better deal over there. That is why I buy my clothing, bras forms etc there. I would love to support our local shops and keep the money here, but not when the prices are so massively different.

Unfortunately, I can't do it with items like the Vitamix because of the different electricity and plugs, with some small items, I can use an adapter.

    I'd love to do lunch!!! M x
