I hear ya! I did the cobra thing for 4 years, $600 per month for me only. All through treatment. With Humanna.

My new MOs NP asked me, while sitting directly in front of me, when was my last Mamo. Damn near fell off the chair. Uh, not doing those any more. Oh? Oh! Sorry!

Cappuccino chips? Now that's just too weird for me.

Spring is kind of back this morning, not warm but sunny and blue skies.

I have been sniffing this baby, she is so divine, not a whimper or a cry for the whole evening just lots of smile and 4 month old conversation. She just had a shower with her Mother and I got to hold her all warm and cozy in a towel, I counted her little toes and delicate fingers, I am besotted as her parents. Her Dad is just a joy to watch as he hovers over her telling her how beautiful she is. He is the burper, changer and rocker and he isn't looking forward to going back to work and missing seeing everything happen first hand. I am so impressed with them both, they have settled into parenthood very well.

I am loving the sound of Zills spa day! I just got an email asking me to go for another Advanced Facial at the Beauty School. I will be doing that, pronto!

Good Luck with the dogs Zills, I am waiting for an update!

Must tell you, Dex has been hysterical with the baby in the house. He just sniffs at her feet, doesn't try to jump on her, but can't work out what she is. I doubt he has ever seen a baby before.

Sgc, I hope you have a great massage! M x

Sgc, two heart attacks, five stents and a pacemaker?  Geez, your DH has been thru the wringer. :(    Best wishes for your appt.  I can't believe some of the nurses/assistants, I don't think they read our files, ever.  I have had some of my regular nurses ask when I am finished with Herceptin, and I want to yell "never!"  When I finish Herceptin, that must mean that BBC has finished me off!  Lol

I must clean today. Can't stand the clutter or the kitchen floor. Missing a library book. BG wet the bed but peed on the potty this am:)

Overcast day. Want to pull out garden and replant but doubt I have that much oomph.

Grocery run too. Only condiments, milk, water and worms. Yum. Don't want to leave house until I can drop everything off at one time. Better get crackin or it's worms for lunch. Or orange slugs.

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, think I'll go eat worms.

    Anyone know that song?

My ins is ky only. New company.

Won't pay for 10 mg of tamox.

Says MO can charge a facility fee to sit in exam room and it's a teaching hospital. My cost is $238 a visit plus MO.  Nothing special done. Lovely pink gown. No labs. Just temp, bp and weight.

Took six months to decide my therapist was out of network. How can that be if the hospital that employs him is?

Says PT not attached to drs office is co-ins (50%) not co/payment ($15).  Also took six months to tell me that.

So in June I got hit with a bunch of bills. I had been seeing the therapist and PT for awhile at twice a week or every other week.

And they wouldn't pay my ob/gyn for my annual because someone else had used that code but they paid for the pap. I think I would remember having more than one. I did finally get that straightened out.

I need chocolate. Guess I'll scrub my frustrations away.

    I know that worm song.

Insurance is SOOOOO frustrating. That teaching hospital line is a bunch of crap.  I got that with my LE therapist. Took a ton of BS to get that to go thru. Can't believe they won't pay for Tamox.  What is up with that?

    They need the bitch slapper.

OH,, so cute with Dex.  Ava loves babies. She likes to sniff them and then kisses their feet. It's really cute. She seems to know that she has to be gentle with them.

It would be fun if we could all go to a spa together. Ahhhhhh.

Zills -my insurance company refused to pay for Fermara!  They paid for the Tamoxifen-which I can't take.  (I only took it for 15 days, so I have 15 days left......) They also paid for the Arimidex - which I also can't take.  Go figure!  My MO had to write something as to why he was putting me on it.  It still hasn't been cleared.  Your insurance company needs an attitude adjustment!  A $238 sitting fee?  Holy sh!t!  That is criminal!  Is there any way you can get some assistance with all the expenses that you are responsible for?  You don't need this stress on top of everything else!

Don't know that worm song- but I have a great bug song about "eating most delicious bugs, yum, yum." Good song about a speckled frog (yup, just another toad-no prince!).  Used to sing it with DD when she was two.

Anyhow, hope your day gets better Zills.  S

    Hi girls!

    I know the worm song!

02, shit, I am so sorry, but better than a heart issue. I had a bunch of stones in mine when I had an U/S years ago, but they said they were too big to be an issue. Bec had her gallbladder out a few years ago and it was the best thing ever, no pain, 1 day in Hospital and her skin and her eyes were much brighter, just a few days later.

I wish you all the best with it all and I am in the bag for you.

Sgc, new photo! Gosh you girls have a terrible time with insurance. We pay through the nose for a lot of stuff over here, including Private Health cover, but although our free system can back up a bit if it is not a serious surgery, they do cover all this stuff well. Most of our drugs are on the PBS, so around $25.00 or just $6.00 if you're a pensioner.

Boy has your Husband been through a lot!

I hope you're all having a good evening, I am off to see my friend at the Opp Shop this morning. Oh and the builders have found some rot from an overflowing box drain in our covered walk way, so it has turned into a huge job, with laminated beams being cut out and lots of fascia being replaced...ugggh! Painters can't return till this is all replaced so I don't know how long it will be till it is finished now, or how much it is going to cost! Ca Ching! At least we never had any surprises inside the house when it was renovated, so this isn't so bad...do I sound convincing? LOL M x

O2, ouch, they sure can act like heart pains for sure, glad it is not heart issue but sorry that you have this too. Thinking of you.

Insurance is a real PIA, years ago I thought I could figure it out somewhat but now .. no clue! I will soon be on Medicare, not sure if that is good or bad but it is what it is.

    How are you Zills?

O2:  ARGH!! More surgery!  However, better than the usual causes of chest pain. Gall bladder surg will hopefully be uneventful. Keep us posted and we will be in the bag.

    SGC:  love the new piccie!!

Yes, M. Insurance over here can really suck. And you change employers,, or your employer changes insurance and you could lose your doctor or your RX coverage, or it could cost you more out of pocket. It's a crap shoot. I work for HCA, which is the largest for profit hospital chain in the country. I have great coverage as long as I use their doctors and their facilites. Forget it if I want/need to go elsewhere. It's a HUGE hassle. Went thru that with my LE therapist at Shands (the other hospital in town, not HCA) and it was a long hard fought battle to get to go there. But since no LE therapist at my place,, I fought the law,, and the law did not win.  HA!

The way ours works is, if you go public, no private insurance, you can't choose your own Doctor or Dicktor as it may turn out. If you are Private, you get to choose your Doctor and can go to a Private Hospital, but that can go pear shaped if the Dicktor doesn't operate from a Hospital near you. Then there is still a co pay because Dicktors never just charge the amount the government allows, so we always have some out of pocket expenses. I can't believe how little the Doctors charge here in the country. Had I had all this done in the City, I can't imagine how much I would have been out of pocket and the service, not to mention the expertise has been amazing.

For example, I went Private, but could have opted for public and my Surgeon and Team, all those visits, plus the other surgery in the office for my dog ear and all my follow up appointments and stuff, including biopsies etc has cost me all up around $450.00, not bad. M x

My insurance changed just before I started rads. My co pays for just that was $1300. I have no idea how much we spent on co pays for chemo, tests surgery, meds prior to that change.

When I switched into Medicare, I lost 3 docs who wouldn't take my new plan.

And after spending an hour on the phone with 2 of Humanas service reps I think I have the issue solved. Sure makes me wonder where these 2 went to school. Neither could understand I said INSULET CORPORATION, not insulin.

    Oh my aching head!

    Insurance craziness!

Just back from new GYN.  She is also a psych, which is good, because I am going to go crazy.  Refused biopsy today (as I told you I would) but she is worried.  Blood tests today, one-hour u/s Tuesday, and then, if the lining is strange or the blood tests are not good, biopsy.  She promised to load me up with percocet and V.

    Back to work! X

Bobo - I guess I missed it... what kind of biopsy did you refuse?  An endometrial biopsy?  If it is... you need to find a GYN who will do a block.  That's what I did, and never felt a thing.. just some pressure.  My primary physician wouldn't give me anything but Advil, so I requested a referral and got it.

Insurance companies really hate to pay for physical therapy it seems.  I had to get mine approved in 6 visit increments.  Even after the approvals, there was some stupid ass middle company that was involved telling me they weren't approved.  I was hesitant to go to my appointments because they were really expensive.

The past few days, I had some very deep aches/pains at the end of my scar.  Was kind of freaking out, but kept telling myself maybe they were nerves trying to regenerate (it's been 6 months since my mx).   Things are much better today, but occasionally my underarm hurts  :-(    I so hate thinking that every pain is cancer.

Still haven't scheduled my mammo or taken the Arimidex.  Soon.. very soon.

Susan - You are so pretty and young looking.   I honestly thought you had posted a picture of your daughter.  I don't know why, but I thought you were retired.

All you guys complaining about heat on DP's thread.   Geesh, I love the heat.  I am already dreading winter and it's sunless days.  Thinking about buying one of those full spectrum S.A.D. lights.   Our summer this year in Michigan was very mild .. and a ton of rain.

Ooooooooooooooh ND!  You are so nasty!  I am just beaming!

You are amazing, packing up those brownies.  He is going to love them.  Yes, PRB -- endometrial.  GYN would not offer block except in the OR.  I sort of reared up at going back to the OR.  I'm already there so frequently.

My dad is being brownie bombed!

PRB, I have a full spectrum SAD light and use it in the winter. It seems like it's gray all the time in the winter. When I worked, I'd be going in just as it got light and it would be dark by the time I left to go home. If I didn't get out at noon, I never saw daylight. I thought of it as the Season of the Mole.

PRB- if the 1956 is your birth year, then in am a year older than you!  It's a good photo taken before my dx.  I don't look that good now!  Yes, I am retired.  I was forced into it because I couldn't come back to work after my sick leave and family leave expired.  My girls look like babies even though they are 33 and 21.  Family genetics are good in the looking young department, not so good in the illnesses department!

Bobo, I had a biopsy of my left ovary in 2001. The female GYN said that I wouldn't feel a thing. My ovary was the size of a grapefruit due to the tumors and I don't know if that was a contributing factor, but I flew into the air off that table!  Drugs, drugs, and more drugs!  No one should have to get anything biopsied in that area of our bodies without drugs! That doctor wound up doing my hysterectomy.  She was stingy with the pain killers too.  I never went back to her. In the bag Tues. for the US.

ND you are so bad!  I love the box!  Food and food for thought!

Spookie, the blue card will work too.  Bet MD will wonder who you are!

How do you like the SAD light Wren?  When I lived up north the lack of sun would make things seem so dark that I often thought of getting one.  Since I will be working on my other house this winter I might still need to get one.  Do you  think it would be worth it?

Well, DD is in need of attention so I will post!  Have a good night all, s
