M, my dad is not that good.  He's got bladder cx, an aggressive kind, and the summer of chemo did not seem to do anything.  They're going in this week to see if it has gone down to deeper layers.  He's weak from the chemo.  And not that he's citizen of the year, but he's just recently been faced with his own mortality, still working, and now MD has incapacitated herself and cannot go grocery shopping, for instance.  Great timing, MD!  Plus she will not be cooking, because she will not be eating, so...  ... and just think of what Thanksgiving will be like!

Laughing over the part where M says to Gastroenterologist, Do I look like the sort of woman who would enjoy uncontrolled farting in front of people?

Bobo:  plan to bring own food for Thanksgiving. MD will not be cooking.  Rough on your dad.  Is there anyone who can help out with food for Dad? He will need to keep up strength.  Does he have Vitamix for shakes? I'm really liking this VeganSmart stuff.

Will need your shake recipes asap.  I use Trader Joe protein powder, also vegan.

My aunt is there right now.  She has probably done grocery run.  I just think of the larger picture.  If MD is just having thimble of soup, doubtful she will cook for him and my alcoholic uncle who now lives with them.  **August: Osage County**

Will plan on not going to Thanksgiving, actually.  She has ruined many a Thanksgiving.  My dad is usually in the Phillippines on Thanksgiving.  We actually think he has a mistress and another family there.  He goes four or five times a year.  Don't know if he will make it this year, though.

BTW:  All I get from them is criticism for how I'm raising my own two.  It sounds like this:  'You make your kids eat roasted organic beets?  I am going to call child services and tell them that.  Beets are criminal.'  and 'Organic food is stupid.  I will be loading your casket into a hearse.  I don't eat organic food and I will outlive you.'

My mother, last week before her sx:  I wish you had gotten cx when you were twenty-five.  I had cx insurance on each of you kids.  You could have gotten three thousand dollars.

organic roasted beets???? **CHILD ABUSE**      OMG,, seriously??  You feed your kids healthy and that's bad?? Another mom I know is criticized cuz she won't take kids to McDonalds.  I mean,, really?

Totally August Osage County.   I send hugs and Starbucks coffee.   Do not go for Thanksgiving.  So not worth the aggravation. You could have half-siblings??  Can you send MD to them??? To a land, far, far away,,,,

Wow,, 3 thousand dollars,, that would have be so worth it, right?  **stunned** at what comes out of her mouth. More hugs and coffee.

So far:   strawberries, banana and 1 spoon of flaxseed.    or blueberries/banana /flaxseed.    Ava has to have some of the banana.  And berries. She loves them.   Oh and I did raspberries/banana/flaxseed one night.     It is vanilla bean Vegan Smart protein powder.

Fruit is fresh.  So Delicious coconut milk.  4 ice cubes    May use frozen berries later in year when not able to get fresh or get too expensive.  1 tablespoon of Barleans flax seed

Ava dances for banana.  She knows the word.  She gets really excited.

bobo  any heartless thing is possible with a malignant narrcissit!!!  They will never cease to amaze you with their lack of empathy.  Many children of narcissitic mothers do not survive.......but we did!!!  That makes us so much stronger than them.  So sorry you have to suffer the pain she inflicts on you.  Believe me I know.  I think narcissism causes cancer.  my dad died young at the age of 52 after 24 years of marriage to one. He was the most wonderful man..............I miss him so much even to this day.

Glennie  now about the vitamix,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,most wonderful machine!!!!  I love it.  I tried Ariom soup recipe on our page here page 224.  It was going well til I put it on high and the container jumped off the machine.  No I didn't read the directions and just put it on high.  my bad!  but I learned. I put the soup on the stove and heated it up.  Boy is this healthy food.  like you can taste everything.  Yes I think this machine is worth it.  I have used other blenders but nothing like this one.  Reading the directions now.  be back later after I try almond butter.  the almond butter from the stores has samenella in it and got recalled.

    more later

I went back and read the recipe.  I can't believe it chops everything for you. That's amazing. And heats it???

Many thanks for kind words, O2!  And excellent job getting started with your Vitamix!  You have the recipe book?  Everything I have tried in that book has come out really well.

Try this:  2 cups yogurt (coconut, soy, or dairy).  Add one package frozen berries of your choice (you know, a bag).  Process on three, work up to 5 or 6.  When it forms four separate quadrants, it is done.  Frozen yogurt!

You can put 2 - 3 tablespoons of something sweet in it before mixing (like honey, agave, sugar), and you can put tsp vanilla, but I usually don't.

Ava likes Too Cute on Animal Planet.  Her ears perk up with all the baby dog and cat noises.

So, if I toot accidentally, I can just say I had surgery?  Will people understand when I say "well that's what M said"??   Funny story - my sister's mother-in-law lived to be in her late 90's.  When my sister would visit, she would take her and her friends out shopping.  My sister said it was hysterical because they all had pretty bad hearing...and as they walked down the aisle, they'd be tooting away thinking people couldn't hear it!!

Bobo - that is unreal about MD's cancer comment.  I was half going to defend her surgery date cause she may have made that date long before your dad's procedure...but seriously, that comment is plain vile ...  rhymes with bile .. and here's hoping she doesn't come over for 'awhile'.    I'm such a poet.

I'm gearing up for the wasp ambush.  Hoping to get someone as crazy as me to assist.... using a ShopVac to suck them up as they come and go from the nest.  Many videos on Utube proves this works  ... and no pesticides involved.   Now where can I find some assistants?  Thinking a bar full of men?  ;)  Can't you just hear them?  "Hell ya.. and then we'll throw some gasoline in there and light em' on fire!".  Yes, I think it's safe to say I have watched one too many videos on wasp destruction.

    My favorite smoothie - banana/mango:

    1 1/2 bananas

    1 strawberry/banana Yoplait yogurt

1 large bloop of Naked Mango juice

1 small bloop of orange juice

1 small bloop of non-fat milk

    ice  (about a cup..maybe a bit more).

One last comment on the wasps.  Now that I know they are yellow jackets.. I am scared of them.  Isn't that funny?  I swear one was chasing me tonight when I got out of the car.  I was running away like a little school girl.   I must start planning Operation YellowJacket soon!

tonight's shake:  peanut butter and banana.   BIG hit!!  One of my favorite flavor combinations.

I'll have to try adding some Naked Juice instead of coconut milk,, hmmmm,, lots of flavors out there.

I am still in bed 9:30 am, hoping my DD thinks I am still asleep, trying to laugh quietly at everything going on here!  We have PRB going into bars looking for men to set fire to wasps.  O2 has carrots and pumpkin splattering her kitchen walls.  Bobo is cleaning fruit Popsicle off the couch, whilst booking a flight for MD to go to the Phillipines.  Ariom is is furious she is losing fat from the soles of her feet, and not her belly, and she is giving MD only a ice cube of food, along with a slap over the head. Glennie is supposed to be working, but instead is being vitamix Jamie Oliver.  Need to go back a page and see what Andrea and Zills are up to.

Good morning from sunny Paynesville, gosh I will never like that name. It was originally Toonalook, named by the indigenous people, who were here first, but of course, some crusty old Captain had to think he discovered it and change it to his awful name. History lesson over!

I swear DLLP and I had exactly the same thought, but I wasn't going to write it here, because it was just so, well, shallow, and disgusting. But when I hear the lament about you not getting Ca when she had insurance coverage for  it, it is open slather, on that nasty bitch! How on earth did you and the siblings survive? I just shake my head when I read about it...there's a book in this Bobo, good old Joan C could have taken lessons from your MD. Those wire hangers weren't a patch on MD's affliction.

I have to laugh at the thought of what Child Services would make out of er skewed idea of child neglect, how dare you feed your children organic food, you, you monster! LOL She's just nuts, Bobo, please don't be doing Thanksgiving there, what happens when you do that thing around the table about what you're thankful for? She's not going to be ready to see a whole Turkey for a very loooong time! M x

Glennie, I want to say good morning back, but it's what, about 7:45 p.m for you ?  Still can't get my head around that.

Need to ask about the Thermomix.  Anyone have knowledge about them?  I think they cost about $1800, but I have heard they can do just about anything.  Been thinking I need to get a vitamix, but am interested in a Thermomix now, if I can get past the price tag.

M:  I like the original name better.  Maybe you should start a petition to change it back.

Dawny:  yes, it is 8PM now.  I have a hard time keeping track too. I used to IM frequently with a friend in Melbourne (*she is temp living in San Francisco for 2 years) and I never could keep track of what time it was for her.

Is a Theromix like a Vitamix?   M may have a source for a less expensive one!  She did good on her own Vitamix!!  Ebay???

Hi Dawny, I am still swanning around in my dressing gown at 10.15am! Have you got a glorious day there too?

I have heard a lot about the Thermomix, a lot of the women over on the island have bought them, but then, they do the whole dinner party thing, which I don't do any more. They all love it, but as with the Vitamix, our prices are just astronomical. I was lucky to get my Vitamix from a friend on a shopping forum who bought it but didn't use it. My other fave is the Air Fryer, I bought it from Deals Direct, they are always having deals on this one. I use it every day, even if just to warm rolls for the Vitamix soup, but you can do anything that you can do in a conventional oven or anything that you would normally fry, but without oil, or just a smidge to make things brown.

Today I am moving all the stuff, I had moved into the spare room, till my BFF comes and picks it all up to take it to a market in Melbourne. I just seem to shove this stuff around the house from one place to another. We have Colin's niece, husband and new baby coming to stay on Tuesday, so I have to get the guest room ready for them.

    What are you up to?

I had a boss from the Netherlands who used to say UN-be-liev-able. I know he would say that about MD. She's just beyond imagination. Wouldn't blame your Dad a bit for having another wife/mistress. I don't care for beets myself, but I don't consider them child abuse. My GSs love them.

Glennie, I like the original name too. There are many places around here with Aboriginal names and they are much nicer, than the western names that overtook them. I love Aboriginal Art too. I have been looking for a piece for my family room for a long time.

I don't know how the long time residents would take to a petition to change the name back, but I would be up for it!

I kid you not, that Vitamix is by far the best thing ever, I am forever grateful to Bobo for insisting I buy it when I had the offer. It seriously pulses all the whole veg and then heats it in about 7 minutes, you get 4 generous serves from one jug. My arthritic hands really have a hard time chopping veg, but I don't need to do it any more. Even simple stuff like onion, garlic, basil and tomato, a couple of pulses in the Vitamix and you have topping for your Italian bread and it cleans like a dream, you don't take it apart like other blenders.

Peanut butter and banana! I love that combo on toast, never thought about drinking it, Almond Milk?

I love the Vegan Smart, I used to have their other one just Naturade Vanilla or Chocolate, but when this one came out with the enzymes and the Pro Biotics and the long list of Proteins and Fruits, I had to try it. It is a little on the sweet side, but I am used to it now and usually have it with Blue Diamond unsweetened almond milk.

02, I know how powerful that Vitamix is, you have to flick the right switch first, turn the dial slowly and then flick the left switch up for the turbo jet, full tilt bozo, extreme power. It is a bit breathtaking isn't it! I have a feeling I left out the 1 stock cube from that recipe. I use the Kosher Massell veg one, but any will do.

PRB, I would be looking for a group of men, buy them a case of beer and stay inside and watch them do the removal! i would be scared of those things too!

I am laughing at your measurement for your smoothie, what exactly is a "bloop", is it the same as a dollop?LOL

You can certainly site me as the source of your knowledge about Tooting after Hiatus Hernia surgery! I promise, hand on heart, that my Specialist told me that was the side effect!

I used to get a giggle when I visited my Mother in the Nursing Home, everywhere you went, there were these delicate, sweet little ladies, walking and tooting. down the hallways, completely oblivious because they were mostly deaf too!

Bobo, I tried the frozen yogurt with pitted medjool dates for sweetness....very yum!

We love pickled beets. The boy will still eat them. Balks at chunky tomatoes but loves salsa.

Just been chasing kids all day. Cows in heat and thunderstorm coming. Hope BG is exhausted. That's her two fears at night.

I'm trying to figure out why my hands, phone smell like garlic. None in the house.  Chopped red pepper, eggplant, squash, zucchini, tomatoes and mushrooms for dinner.

Bobo. Yes ship your md to your half siblings. Boycott thanksgiving at her house.  Can your dad get meals on wheels?

i used coconut milk for the shake. I have always loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches since I was a kid.

I have a hard time chopping things too. I have nerve damage in my right hand, so that makes gripping the knife somewhat difficult. I lose my grip and a slipped knife is dangerous. Especially since I have LE in the left arm now. So afraid of cutting myself and getting infection. The thought of making soup so easily is a big temptation. And no taking apart to clean??? really???

I am giggling at the thought of all the old ladies tooting their way down the halls,,,,
