Oh Spookiesmom, that is genius! I like that a lot!

Glennie, I used to send appliances to the rear of the cupboard if they were too difficult to clean. Remember the centrifugal juicers, that little basket blade thingy, was my nemesis. I bought an Oscar cold press juicer many years ago and it got me into juicing in a big way. It is so easy to clean, like the Vitamix, no hassle at all. The Vitamix can clean itself, fill the jug half way, a drop of dishwashing liquid and turn it on to pulse a few times. Rinse under running water and that's it. It needs a little more if you leave it without filling with water straight away, but it isn't a hassle to clean at all.

The Vitamix can make your juices too, keeping all the fiber. The Oscar is better if you want a light juice without the fiber.

I make Almond Cashew and Macadamia nut paste in the Vitamix too, and my own peanut butter.

That is seriously easy to clean,,,, I'm inching closer to getting one.  Everything is washed by hand here as I do not have a working dishwasher machine.  So ease of cleaning is important.

M, i sense much baby sniffing in your near future. Xx

    Spookie -  I think that's a great idea!

M - I believe a bloop is a bit more than a dollop.  lol   I never measure that stuff.. just dump it in.  I do love the mango juice so I tend to 'bloop' more in!    I have been thinking about banana and peanut butter smoothies too.  I love that combo in 'real' life and I also love PB on apples or red grapes.  Has anyone tried apples in smoothies?

Lastly, I am sure the Vitamix is a very awesome machine...but I do want to give a shout out for my Ninja Master Prep model.  Consumers Report rated it equal to the Vitamix, but I'm not so sure about that.  It doesn't heat liquids like the Vitamix, and it probably won't last as long...but for around $60 it's hard to pass up.

lol spookiesmom, that IS evil (and fantastic)

Ok, am going to try and use the word "bloop" in a sentence today, I like it!  And look up ninja master prep xx

Dawny, I am going to use "bloop" too, I love that word!

I still haven't made it out the door, sun is shining, lots of boats on the water and Dex keeps following me around waiting to hear the word "Walk", just having a cuppa and some fudge. Could seriously devour more of that baby butt right now!!!!

PRB, I am not familiar with the Ninja, but I just found a "Ninja" that was trialed against the Vitamix and looks just  like it, but the "Master Prep" I found, looks like a Bullet? Not sure if I found the right ones. I am sure there are others that are equally as good, as the Vitamix. Bec has the Aldi version, which does nearly everything the Vitamix does, but you have to chop things up a bit, it isn't quite as powerful but it was a fraction of the price.

I have just never had a blender that could chop all my veg for me, without cutting them up first and the heating, without an element,  is just sensational. When I first got mine, I stood in front of it, watching, like someone seeing fire for the first time! LOL M x

LOL M!  I can just see you staring at that Vitamix!  Too funny.   Yeah, I doubt that the Ninja is as good as a Vitamix, but for me (who has an unused recumbent bike and other such items) it was a good investment for $60.  I actually use it a few times a week, and it is pretty darn powerful.  Of course, I haven't done anything with it except make smoothies, but I know others who use theirs all the time and love it.  The love they speak of sounds a lot like you and Bobo and your Vitamix!  It's simple to use, easy to clean, and compared to a regular blender...there just isn't any comparison.

Glad you all are liking my accurate measuring terminology!  I'm all about the visuals.. .a bloop.. we can all see that in our minds, right?  hah  I'm not the best cook.  DD likes cooking and actually took a 3 hour cooking class put on by the chef of a pretty fancy place on campus.  She loved it...and they all received chef hats to take home!  Oh I should post one of her failures here at home.... grilled cheese.  She literally walked away from the stove while it was cooking.  Here is the end result (and yes, I told her she needed to keep an eye on it!)

    image

I laughed so hard and had to take a picture of it!  Oh the years of enjoyment I will get from this picture!

I found a Huff Post review of the Ninja versus the Vitamix http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/20/best-blender-vitamix-ninja_n_5351383.html,,,,

Right now,, I'm only making shakes, so my Oster blender is working just fine.

I'm going to get some Naked Juices today so I can add a bloop or two to my shakes.

I'm picturing M in front of the Vitamix, with awed look on her face.  Maybe Bobo will let me watch her the next time she makes soup.

Good morning to you Glennie, I am getting ready for bed!

I don't think that is the Ninja PRB is talking about, it isn't the "Master Class".

Anyhoooo, enough of the blenders! lol

Tomorrow is my Mammo and U/S. It will be my first, one not done by the radiographer who did my call back, my first biopsy or my first, Annual Mammo. I really liked her a lot. This time I am going to the Hospital in the next big town, rather than the over 2 hours drive to the other one.

The nerves kicked in again today, I still call it the "Jaws" music, you know, that menacing Da dum da dum, you don't know what the outcome will be. I know it is silly, but it's still there.

I'll go in early and do some shopping for the visitors coming on Tuesday.

Mammo and u/s for our M?  In the bag!  I am on a need to know basis.  Dawny is next week, G is the 3rd, I am the 4th. But, I am telling you, I am going to refuse mine.  I am going to say I will come back when and if they get anaesthetic sorted out.  Honestly, I cannot do that again.  The evil GYN had a baby and left the state, and now I have a new one I have never met.  M, will you check in?

Spookie, you are hilarious!  It might be worth the three-hour round-trip drive to drop off yummy food at MDs house!  Birdie, you are right about the mistress, now that I think of it.  It gives me sincere glee to hear our M call her a nasty bitch.  My own therapist used to refer to her as a 'lesbian lap-dancer.' And then I would write my therapist a check.

G, M, is right about the cleaning of the Vitamix.  That is really true.  The Ninja sucks.  Did you know you can make hot pasta sauce in the Vitamix, then pour it right over the pasta?  Did you know you can make hot fudge sauce in the Vitamix, then pour it right over ice cream?  I do not do a lot of chopping in the V -- and then put it on bread -- that is a good idea.  But I am not really eating breads lately.

Z, how are the cows?  I am jealous of Glennie's shakes.  They sound better than mine.  Tired and the creativity has just been beaten out of me.

    Schedule:

    Monday:  M   mammo/US

Weds:  glennie  biopsy   Cue: the Jaws music.   I remember seeing that movie in the theatre,,, it was terrifying. And I used to spend a lot of time at the beach.

    Thurs:   Bobo:  biopsy (?)

Dawny:  next week???   Let us know which day.

Will be preparing snacks for being in the bag.  No house cleaning for me.  I do avoidance therapy by diving into a book and staying there. Have multiple library books here. Love it when all the "holds" come in at one time. And there is another one waiting to be picked up.

Bobo:  definitely get the anest. sorted out.  It was insane what you had to go thru last time. And beets for the Thanksgiving meal would rock.  I think it would be worth the drive.  *evil laugh*

I have decided that when I go there next week, in keeping with all the good advice I am getting here and at DP's, I am going to buy a pre-made dip at Whole Foods.  We're going to stop there on the way to get food for us for lunch.  And I'm going to warm it up under the broiler at MDs until it is bubbling, and then I am going to set it out with some corn chips!

Oh my, some spirited shit going on this morning!

I am in serious pain, gave myself a stitch somehow, from laughing at the Lesbian Lap Dancer line. Oh Bobo, that is so funny. I think your plan for the dips and chips is perfect, give the bitch a gummy bear to suck on, while she watches! Oooh I haven't had so much fun in ages.

I agree, get that anesthetic sorted before you have another of those Biopsies. I have heard of people here getting sedation for a simple breast biopsy, because they are anxious, so surely there is a protocol for something as painful as this. I looked up the Aussie equivalent and they don't use anesthetic here for it either.

I am in the bag for everyone, no problem.

Bobo, this is just my 2nd, Annual, it is just about a month earlier than when I was originally Dx.

Today is the first day of Spring, YAY!!!!!! I will be happy to put that Winter behind me.

I am sorry if I have started a "Jaws" music in the head for some of you. It has been my way of describing the way the little bit of fear creeps in with this crap. I know how lucky I was,  to catch this when I did and I didn't have to do the hard treatments, just the surgery, but the fear of another one, gives me the heeby jeebies, especially when these anniversary ones happen! Rant over!!

I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday! I wish I could avoid the housework, I have been very slack this weekend, I haven't really thrown myself into getting stuff done, but I will get that room set up by Tuesday!

Take it easy girls! Chat later...M x

OMG Bobo, just popped in to check on everyone and can not believe that MD did it again!! Crap on a chapstick.. well as for Thanksgiving.... please make her a huge whopping plate of turkey and all the trimmings (better yet order it in) and feed the whole thing to her.. because she will be so busy puking maybe, just maybe, she cant be spewing hateful things out of her big mouth at you! like how dare you did not time your cancer around her insurance? I am so pissed I wont sleep a wink tonight.. what are we to do with her? She deserves not a big of your respect, time and never any love. Hoping the best for your Dad.

My friend had gastic bypass and when Ariom says a thimble so correct that is why a bunch of food will make MD sick.. I know I am being nasty but she has it coming full blast from all of us who love Bobo and lets all send a big bitch slap her way!! grrrr.

Hey girls, just got back from my Mammo/u/s, talk about being thorough. I was impressed, once it was over, but while it was happening I was getting the feeling there might be something there. I was in there for an hour and I must say, you girls were very well behaved!

Had the mammo first, tech runs off to Head Radiologist for him to okay the pics, she comes back and does the first part of u/s, takes off again to see him, back again, goes over everything again, checks all the nodes, off she goes again, comes back and tells me all is well, nothing concerning on either and the report will go out to my surgeon tonight or tomorrow! Woo Hoo!

I took you all to McDonalds afterward, turn your head Bobo and I had a Grand Angus with bacon, fries and a frozen coke! Just 'cause I can!

Ok that's one down, who's next for tests? M x

Still laughing at ndgirl's response to MD, you go nd, I can't remember you being that fired up before! She really yanks our chains, doesn't she? We all look out for Bobo!

From what I know of her, I am doubting MD will stick to the rigid rules applied after this kind of surgery, sigh, I have known lots of women who have had this surgery, thinking it is an easy fix for weight loss, what were they thinking? They just start eating as normal and the weight goes back on.

Glennie, I see you're up next on Wednesday, I am there! I recently found this great white wine. I gave up drinking ages ago, because it seemed to make RA worse, but thought I would try this white, which has only half the alcohol content. I can have a couple of glasses with no ill effects.Turns out it is a lovely light fruity Summer wine, so I am bringing some of that on Wednesday! M x

I really appreciated you slipping some fries in the bag at McDonald's.  Reward for being good in the bag!  Although I did have my bitch slapper ready.  **feeling punchy*

Light fruity summer wine?  Sounds good, M.  Anxious to get this over with.  Seriously, I'm more worried about laying in that position for 45 mins or more and dealing with the neck pain, than I am about the biopsy results. Am I nuts?  I'm sure I'll be more concerned about the results after, but right now, I'm hoping this won't flare up my wonky neck too badly.

I've seen people after gastric bypass lose the weight, but then go back to their old eating habits and the weight comes back. I think it would be really hard to eat such tiny amounts. Especially at Thanksgiving,, etc,,, those lovely FOOD holidays.

M-glad mammo and us went well.  Thanks for the Mickey D's!  I love it and it goes so well with my piña coladas!  I can't believe spring is upon you.  It is brutal here-100 degrees and humid.  I long for autumn!

Hey Bobo- MD, a f@cktard, will probably gain it all back.  My DH' s niece had it done and is gaining it back and she never got down to her goal weight! (She is a total b!tch!)  I say we should be totally evil and send her goodies in the post!  I love to bake and would love to send her cookies, brownies, or whatever!  My college roommate lives in west palm and I could elicit her help as well.  Sorry about your dad.  Anything you need, just name it!

Glennie-I am bringing a fresh batch of my favorite frozen drink!  I am with you all the way!

PRB-love the over grilled cheese! Yes, a picture is worth years of fun!   I too use a ninja- for....wait for it....my piña coladas!  I also make some wicked smoothies.  I am not "cooking" in protest these days so I really don't have a need for the vitamix (nor do I have the money!).

Hi Dawny!  Are you enjoying the weather down under as well?

Spookie-always one of few, but very well chosen words!  You do have another side to you.  I am pleasantly impressed!

The MRI results gave me the all clear, however the headache still persists!  (Hence my MIA from here so often lately).  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Thinking of going to a chiropractor, but insurance won't cover it.

I hope everyone has a great day today, Susan

SGC -  Happy to hear your MRI was good.  It's probably stress related.  Maybe you can blame it on your husband?  lol  Wish I had some advice for you, but my headaches are mostly sinus related, and taking Advil and lying down usually does the trick.  Glad you like your Ninja too...us Ninja types have to stick together.. those Vitamix gals are feisty. ;)

I know someone who had gastric bypass done some years ago.  He was good for a few years, but the last 2... it's coming back at a fairly rapid pace.  As someone who has struggled with weight issues a good portion of my life, I can really sympathize (except no sympathy for MD).  For me, exercise is the key..and I say that as I'm lying here on my bed finishing off 2 warm biscuits!  Yeah.. no idea why I can't lose weight!

M - congrats on the all clear.   Nice to have that all done and over with for another year.   My c-anniversary is coming up on the 16th.  I'm having a hard time scheduling that mammo appointment.  I have been feeling really anxious the past few days...maybe that is the reason.

Spookie - I am also a Scorpio.  We are not bitches..we are just mysterious!

Wishing all of you with appointments this week good luck. This group is never far from my mind.

i have an Oster blender,,,, I neither fit in the Vitamix or Ninja group.   I'm all alone !!!

Susan:  glad the MRI was all clear. Headaches suck.  Mine are usually due to neck issues. Muscle tension, joints being out of whack and need the chiropractor. So many damn causes for a headache. Anything help?  Tylenol? Advil?  alcohol?

Glennie, I have an Oster as well-it just doesn't do smoothies well.  There, you are not all alone in your blender choice!  This headache is driving me crazy, yes a short trip!  It is probably due to stress and tension.  Even though I have no idea why I would be stressed.....I do blame it on my DH, PRB.  In fact I blame him for everything!  I am going to commence drinking and then call the chiropractor tomorrow.  I will let DH absorb the bill since he has caused this!  Now I need to figure out how to drink without getting overheated since I am always overheated to begin with. Cheers everyone!
