I have to work until midnight,,, 3 & 1/2 hours to go,, then bed.  I'm off tomorrow.  Can do fun stuff,,like mail goodies to Bobo's dad, and shop for my nephew's birthday.  Who the heck is Caillou?  My brother says he like that character.

Maybe they removed the post!  I'm easily annoyed today.

Edit:  it's still there,, if you look under our forum title,, you will see a thread titled DIEP flap recon.      LOL!!

I'm following Let's do our own poll why we got bc. Or to that effect. It's a hoot. You can blame anything you did, ate, wore, etc. Some chick comes on and starts blabbing real stats. about the how's and whys we got bc.

Some of us asked her if she even read ANY of the posts. Told her it was meant to be funny.

    She hasn't been back.

    Fire away Glennie. I did.

That's one of my bugs too! Why do people just start another thread, when there are so many that have huge amounts of great info on them, that have been made up over time and great discussion. You feel like you're just rehashing the same old stuff. I like to get into the foobs and bras and clothing, but you can only say the same stuff, so many times. End of whinge!

Haha, I didn't bother looking at the "Why did we get it", because I thought it was going to be all about stats and stuff. Didn't know it was funny, must take  a look!

Got it Glennie, I thought you meant on this thread! M x

the lymphedema forum is clogged up with people starting new threads on the same topics. "flying",,,there are lots of threads on flying.  Go read them!! Then if you have a question that you didn't see talked about,, then ask!   I realize that some threads have 100's of posts,, but skim !!

I'm so grumpy today!!  Glad I'm off tomorrow.  Shopping and lunch out!!

Why did we get cancer is hysterical. You must read!  All of our childhood favorites things have caused it!  Kool-aid, cookies, too much tv, etc etc.

I will check it out, Glennie! Sorry you're feeling grumpy, don't want to irritate you!

I finally got Sweet Pete's to accept my order, couldn't work out if the 3 sisters or something like that would be a gooey mess when delivered, so went for non chocolate at Pete's. I had to use my business email without the .au to get the order accepted! The note says...... "A little something, to sweeten your day!" from a friend in Australia! bahahah I love this staggered treat bomb! M x

Glennie, ours may arrive together! Yours is the Darrel Lea Licorice right?

I used to work in the business district when I did my Hairdressing Apprenticeship. I had to catch a tram home, so I would walk all the way down to the end of the city to get on the tram at the first stop, so I would get a seat for the 1/2 hour ride home. There was a Darrel Lea shop on the way, so I would stop in there on the way to buy what they called, a Walnut Roll. The women who worked in the shop had to wear the worst uniform, it was a candy stripe, kind of maternity top thingy with a huge bow at the neck. The Walnut Roll was a huge thing, with the densest heaviest caramel and walnut chunks wrapped in thick chocolate. It was the kind of thing you should cut into rounds and serve with coffee, but I could down one of these on the way home, any time! My Mother always had dinner ready to put on the table when I walked in the door from work and I would eat all of that too.

I was a size 6 right up till my 50's and I always ate like that, come to think of it maybe that's why I ended up here, ahhh so that's what caused it!!!!!

It was the Walnut Roll, M!  You will have to put it on that thread, about what gave us cancer !  LOL!!

    Those uniforms sound awful.

Yes, I have the Darrel Lea Licorice,, plus some Panda licorice that Bobo said he liked.  The Darrel Lea was an impulse buy, cuz I found it at Target,, and said,,, ooo, From Australia !  Must buy!!   And some crispie brownie cookies,, and a card. Wonder what MD will say!!

My shift is over,, finally.   Logging off the work computer and rebooting it.  Will see everyone tomorrow!!

Have a good rest Glennie, now that we have solved the long searched for cause for ca!!!!!

Just told Colin about you finding the Licorice and he has gone on and on about how much he loved that licorice and did I remember the awful uniforms at Darrel Lea? Now we are talking about Rocky Road and my fave Coffee Dusted Chocolate Roasted Almonds, he says I went for all the expensive stuff, while he bought the cheaper stuff. He's happy I wasn't his date back then, too high maintenance!! M x

Here is my little studio! Pretty much finished, just a few more things to put up above, in the ceiling storage and a backrest to be made for in between the shelving units. I will likely paint the timber trestles that the lovely man, who was the original builder of the house, made for me. M x

House Beautiful!  There is our M, swanning around as she usually does, floating hither and yon in her diaphanous gown with an Amber Rose Ameona Valletta cami, decorating her house to the nines!  :)  I tease because I love.

It is so nice of you, M, to take such pains to send my dad a package of sweeties!  Will report in.  He is a cool and stoic football coach type -- a man of few words unless you get him going about something -- and he watches Fox news, and goes on and on about stupid Republican things.  But he is clearly and visibly delighted by the slow-acting cookie bomb, and then trying to cover it up and put on the cool face again.

I don't know... I think walnuts actually cure bc! **I am a doctor**

Ha, I knew I was going to take another diaphanous gown hit! The little studio is a fun little room and it has been furnished almost completely, in Op Shop stuff! :)

I am absolutely thrilled that your Dad is enjoying the gifts! M x

I love the studio!  It's beautiful!  Come over here and help me figure out how to remodel my bath.  That's my next project.

I'm allergic to walnuts.  If that's the cure, I'm in deep trouble.

Colin is a funny man.  Wish I could teleport over and meet you both.  Then pop over and see Dawny.  And Ayers Rock and the fairy penguins.

Bobo: I'm so glad Dad is enjoying this.  Can't wait to hear more.  Planning more around Halloween.

Oooh Glennie, I love doing bathrooms!

Allergic to Walnuts, well we need to find another cure!

That would be fun, Glennie, I have seen the Penguins, they are fabulous, but I haven't been to Ayers Rock or Uluru as it is called now. I bet Dawny and I could show you a great time Downunder! M x

Love your studio, M!  Seems to have that "beach" flair that I love so much!  Redoing an entire house and would love it you were here to help!  So daunting!  S

This is a different aspect Sgc.

    image

Thanks Sgc, I love that style too! I love renovating and decorating. Wish I was closer to you, because when we bought this place I bought tons of Coastal Decorating magazines for inspiration, wish I could share them. The interior of the house, has a blend of Coastal and Oriental. There is lots of oiled timber and slate flooring and sea glass color accents, with a long wall of glass facing the water.

I love the site Houzz, just search for "coastal or beach" decor and you'll get thousands of pictures in that style. Really helpful if you are doing a whole house.

I have the Houzz app and love looking at all the photos!  Some of it is rather over the top-expensive and not too comfortable looking.  Oh, if I was independently wealthy!  I tend to like a coastal look.  Probably because I had always lived on the water or very close by!  Love your new studio!

Darn. I thought those "shelving units" were bunk beds for when we visit you. Oh well, you can use a blowup mattress instead. It's really lovely and you've done a wonderful job. It just looks like a perfect hideaway to relax and renew.

I enjoy looking at Houzz, but they're very short on small room decor. Our bedroom has a king size bed and you can reach everything else while sitting on the bed. I'm aching to get my study painted. Actually, I would like to move my study upstairs under the skylight for painting in north light and move the bedroom down to DH's study. He has 5 bookcases of double-shelved books, so I don't see that happening soon.

Love the studio too Ariom, I love the costal sea/side look and I always have.. living in landlocked ND must be my reason. our neice lives in NC and has a beautiful coastal house with decors to match... love it.

Bobo, glad you Dad enjoys the "bomb" still waiting for FL to cool down so I can send these cute little chocolate hedgehogs from Canada, they have some yummy chocolate up there! I never thought gastric bypass was lapro either but maybe things have changed since my friend had it. Think the cream soups etc is because they cant eat anything solid for quite awhile, especially meat, friend would get totally sick when she would try and eat meat later on.. unfortunately she has gained lots of weight back, it has to be a life style change and that didnt happen, she also had to have alot of skin removed from the tummy too, so that tuck makes her look pretty flat yet in that area.

I just made a big pot of homemade veggie soup, everything from my garden except the rutabaga (the bugs get them so much here I quit trying, just buy one at store), already had 2 bowls.. so good if I do say so myself!! Wish I could share it with you all in Ariom's studio!!!

I never heard of Houzz either but I want bathroom ideas. Have to check it out.

I'm mostly taking a computer break today. These last 3 nights at work with the "upgrade" issues really burned me out.  So I'm only doing quick checks on the iPod.

Package mailed to Bobo's Dad today.  Priority mail says delivery tomorrow!!
