Oh Zills, What an awful day. It was me talking about winter depression lights. They are just full spectrum lights that you sit in front of for a while in the morning. I don't see how they could hurt children. Mine would topple over easily, so look for a sturdy base. I have a couple of desk lamps with full spectrum bulbs for painting and sewing, but the depression ones are a little brighter and there's several bulbs in the case. Look online to see what the prices are now. I know they've gone down in price.

    Shit Zills, what a day!

Yes, Houzz has everything, just search children's bedrooms or boys or girls bedrooms, there are thousands of pics. It is great for ideas, as Sgc mentioned, some is very over the top and expensive, but you may just find 1 item that will work for you in 1 of those otherwise, color ideas and furniture or storage ideas can be light bulb moments, which will set you in a different direction in decorating the room. The right dog is out there, give it time. M x

Hi Glennie, have a play with Houzz, you'll find something you like! We are serial renovators, so it is like a hobby to me and I source all kinds of areas for ideas. Houzz is great if you feel like looking at lots of pictures.

ndgirl, I would take you up on a cup of that soup too! I love my soup! We can have it in the studio, any time! I have been a bit addicted to Chicken Laksa for a few weeks, glass noodles in a chicken and coconut chilli base with broccoli, carrots and peas...yumm.

Just had my friend here for morning tea, she has finished her chemo and is heading up to Sydney to stay with her son, while she has her Rads. I will miss her, we have been hanging out together a lot, but I guess the 6 weeks will fly and it will really be Spring when she returns. We have decided to get into exercise when she feel up to it. I am better with a buddy, too easy to cop out, if I am doing it alone, but hate to let someone else down, if we have arranged to do it together. It will be good for both of us!

Cold and dreary again today, just going too visit my friend at the Opp Shop in half an hour and then back to the warmth! Take it easy everyone...M x

UGH, Zills, what a crap-ful day.  Hope things settle between the kids and you find a dog soon. When my friend lived in Seattle, she swore by those lights. Really really helped her.

Z, that day sounds terrible!  I really know how you feel.  Our punk princess really clocked someone, huh?  My two have lost their 'gator party' for the weekend.

M, I am sorry your friend is going!  I hope it feels like she comes back soon.

Flunked my pelvic u/s.  On to another endometrial biopsy.  I'm in negotiations with the new GYN.  She won't do a block. She won't do versed or anything good unless we do it in an OR.  She said, 'We can try some oral medications.'

Cookie bomb detonates again!  Susan, my dad said he got Mrs. Fields!  But, he said, it is already gone.  Did he get any of it?  I am texting him now... he's due to get licorice today too.

    Thinking of you guys. X

Did Dad get Mrs. Fields??? Tracking says licorice arrived!!! Can't wait to hear about it.

Your two lost Gator party for weekend??  Silly kids.

I don't see why she can't do Versed. For cryin' out loud. It's so short acting. It's not like you are out for hours or something. She needs the bitch slapper.  M:  put on your suit and Skype.

    Morning!

Bobo, sorry about your u/s.  M is getting the suit on, oh yippee! Why does it take so long for packages from Aus to US?  It is over a week now since I sent mine.  Love the updates bobo, such fun.

Zills, Hope you have a better day, wait, you still need to sleep first, right?

Gotta get out of bed, see you all soon (kinda). Xx

    Good Morning Ladies!

Sweet Pete's is on its way too! Glennie, I can't wait to hear about the Darrell Lea licorice...it is fantastic, can't stop eating it kinda' licorice!

What on earth is a gator party? and is it a bad thing, to be missing it?

What is this bloody bull- twang about no meds for this barbaric procedure? What is their problem? Glennie, the suit is ready, as is the Skype! Can you do it in the OR, or will it cost you to do that? Oral medications, in deed! I'll give her some oral medication, or a bitch slap that will make her need some, oral medication! I would call her bluff, Bobo and say "Certainly, the OR suits me, just fine!" "Book it, Sweetpea!"

Mrs Fields! Yum, oh my goodness, reminding me of my faves, Auntie Annes sweet pretzels, I would walk miles for one of those, glazed with cinnamon and Famous Amos choc chip cookies, are they still around? We had a store open in Melbourne, years ago, I bought them for everyone, kept that store afloat!

Wrenn, I have heard great things about those lights, I think they call them S.A.D over here. I can totally understand the syndrome, I hate long periods of gray, it saps you of everything.

Nice and sunny here this morning, but chilly, still. Lots o do, but will check in later to see what's happening. M x

I don't know, M.  I don't know if I want another OR procedure.  It's already going to be a whole day gone even in her office.  I have to take off from work.  And I have the feeling that she thinks it's no big deal.

If I don't figure out some kind of plan, though, it's going to have a very negative impact on things moving forward.  I'm reaching my limit -- after a long time -- as far as stress is concerned.  I can't keep going like this, with more and more procedures.

I wish you had learned the magic art of not being there when you were a child. Lots of children in dysfunctional families get through that way. For everything but the dentist, I can just go to Hawaii. I do have to tell the doctor not to talk to me unless it's about a mai tai.

M, The football team is called the gators. So it's a party to watch the game. I can just imagine what you must have been thinking. Even crocodile Dundee didn't have parties with them.

Zills, I just looked at SAD lights on Amazon. They start at about $65 and go up. Many are under $200. You might ask your therapist if she knows where to see them in your area. My HMO has a small store which carries them.

M: Gator party is the University of Florida football game.  Our team is the Gators. Bobo says her kids love the games so they must have been pretty bad to get banned from it.

We have Mrs. Fields and Aunt Anne's pretzels here at the mall. I think you can buy Famous Amos in packages,, but I haven't noticed them in a while.

Bobo:  these damn dicktors. They should have the damn procedures performed on them so they can see what's it is like.

Thanks for that Wrenn! I was wondering why anyone would want a Crocodile themed party! Not something we'd do here.

When I worked in the Video department of one of our TV stations. I had to work when the US football was aired. I could never "get it", the game rules, I mean. I am not a fan of our own football, but yours is so different. I liked all the fun stuff in between. I went to an Angels, baseball game in the US once, I loved that! I ate crackerjack and did the 7th innings stretch or wave, or something, it was fun and my hosts laughed at me, wanting to do all the stuff that went with it!

Bobo, I don't know what to suggest. You are in a damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of spot here. I wish I could do it for you. M x

Ooooh Glennie, I want to go shopping at your Mall!n You would seriously, have to drag me away from Auntie Annes!

You're so right! those Dicktors should have to undergo all those procedures, so they know what it feels like! M x

Bobo.. call around girl.  There has to be a gyn who will do a block.  Like I said... my primary doctor wouldn't, but I asked for a referral to someone who would.  No reason for that kind of stress.. with the block it was a non-event.  I had a little V too, but that just made the drive there interesting ;)

Yes to having doctors go through some procedures.  My sister worked for surgeons.  She said they were stingy with the pain meds...then one doc had hemorrhoid surgery..had some complications, and was in big pain!  She said he changed his tune mighty fast and after that...yup.. all patients got the meds they needed.

I can't see why they can't give Bobo IV Valium or Versed,,,, it knocks you out enough that you don't know what's going on,, won't feel the pain,, and you are awake in a short period of time.  MEAN DOCTORS.

I knew what you meant M!  You are so sweet.  PRB, have called around.  They say the risks of the block outweigh the benefits.  **sigh**

Birdie, that is such good advice.  I'm afraid I am "all hands on deck" when I am scared.  Agree about dicktors needing all sx.  **sigh**

Glennie, yes on the cheesecake bomb.  I am in.  Of course I am not inviting everyone's participation!  But I think I, for one, and maybe Glennie, who is immensely enjoying bombing people, will be Junior's cheesecake bombing my dad at Christmas!

my dad, via text:  licorice and caramels!  -- M, were those caramels yours?  I hear they are delicious!  And, you know, I was thinking.  I bet MD is able to suck on one of those!  **you are so bad**

**Don't tell Glennie, but I am going to bomb the shit out of her when she has her hx!  I am gathering up things right now!**  In fact, I bombed one of our sisters -- from the August sx thread -- who lives in our town, and had sx same day as me, same location, same PS!  The nurses let me go to her right in recovery!  And I bombed her so bad with a giant gift bag full of stuff!  Her mother was with her, and she was gobsmacked!

    Dawny:  Hi Betty!  **waving**

Oooh Bobo, clapping my hands with glee! Yes, salted caramels from me! Hmm MD is sucking one...that was the plan! bahahaaha who can stop at 1!!!!!!!!

Risk outweighs the benefits...sure, because it isn't them, who are having the bloody thing done. They obviously haven't explored the "risk" of us coming after them, if they hurt you! I'll show them some benefits!  M x

OMG I loved it so much when you were smack talking the GYN.  'I'll show you oral medication.'  It just makes me laugh so much!

GYN is probably thinking: 'This bitch does not know pain.  I, myself, ace GYN, have had three children, in fact, I have a four month old baby because I am so fertile!  And she has had no children, only miscarriages.  Having a child vaginally is WAY more painful than an endo biopsy must be.  She is such a baby.'  etc.

To be honest, I'm hoping to put this on the back burner for a few weeks, and do it in November.  I really cannot handle it right now.  I'm afraid one more incident is going to push me over the edge.

Yes, I was thinking about your caramels.  Even if you could chew them, you could also just lightly suck on one!  Am dying to know if she is doing that!  But don't want to ask and disturb the magic!

So fun!  I am just going to plan all sorts of one bomb after another.  Perhaps I should join one of the armed forces.
