    Hello all.

    How did Dex's bath go?

Hi Glennie, bath went well, but after he was dry and brushed, he wasn't interested in cooperating with me using the electric clippers. We had people call in for a coffee with a new Cattle Dog puppy, so I missed the opportunity. I may try tomorrow, but I am most likely to take him to the groomer to do it. He will behave for her, it isn't his favorite thing.

How are you doing? M x

I love it when Dex gets his bangs cut!  Oh he is so cute.

Up to my neck here, and standing by to be in the bag tomorrow morning.  Teaching until afternoon, but will report in on the thread ASAP after that.  September has been a lot of pressure.  Hoping October will be easier, at least financially, since we won't have the camp fees.

Laundry, housecleaning, making soup, taking the kids to the gym, strapping on medical device, grading essays. Thinking of you Glennie!

M:  go to groomers!  LOL!! Easier!!

I'm OK. Had scrambled eggs for breakfast, and that's last food. Start prep at noon. Good times. Washing the sheets now,, then clothes, then laundry will be done.  Paid bills on-line.  Printed list of important phone numbers and Ava's med schedule. (Yes, she is on THAT many meds)

Bobo:  You are a busy woman.  You are on the "to be called/texted" list, in case I get admitted and can't do it myself.  *** better not happen***

Will look for you all in the bag. Bring cookies, ok?  I'll probably want something to eat afterwards.

TIP:   When on liquid diet and doing bowel prep,  it is NOT a good time to catch up on Anthony Bourdain food shows.

    *seriously hungry now*

Morning all! Just saw that DP is back and feeling better...how good is that!

Oh Glennie, I know how shitful...ooooh a pun intended....this prep is. I hate it and I know how it feels like your stomach thinks you'll never eat again. It will be done soon and you'll be back at home with Ava, munching cookies! I will be thinking of you! I hope you had lots of scrambled eggs! lol

    Yes, groomer is looking good!

ndgirl, chilly and misty for you, warm and sunny for me, we have changed places, in the weather stakes. It feel like just a minute ago I was saying how chilly and damp it was. Next Sunday, daylight saving starts! Yay.

Hi Bobo! Thanks for being the notifier! What is it you call it? The top of the phone tree??? Saw that in a movie, Practical Magic!

Wren, can I sit by you in the bag, those cookies sound great! ndgirl, can you sit on the other side with the coco, what can I bring that will compliment those? Sorry Glennie, we shouldn't be talking food in front of you!

    Take it easy everyone...chat later..M x

M; I was watching Anthony Bourdain in Thailand!!  He was eating a lot of really icky things (like brains), so it was NOT as yummy  as it could have been. But probably not a good idea to watch food shows right now.

Edit:  my sentence structure is for crap right now.

Pretty chilly here too. That cocoa sounds good. The sun finally came out about 2pm and it's up to 62 now - that's not quite 17 for you centigrade folks. It's supposed to be chilly and rainy all next week. Time to get out my sad lights.

Glennie, I do not envy you that prep. That's why I'm considering skipping a colonoscopy the next time one's due. I'll be almost at the age when they say it's ok to stop.

I have heard that you can eat gummies as they turn to liquid but give you that chewing sensation.

Watched the trotters and pacers today. Saw a world record set and horse of the year. Beautiful afternoon.

Ate at the clubhouse where my reception was. Not worth the $$$$.

Ariom. Great articles !!! Are the pics taken at your house??  And I wanted to ask what opp shop means!  When I went junking I found an egg holder for my refrigerator.  Just a little something new for 50 cents. Love love love to thrift shop!

Zills, that sounds like a lovely day! I grew up near the stables where racehorses and trotters were kept. It was close to the city, and Flemington Racecourse. The Melbourne Showgrounds were right opposite and I spent many a Saturday night at the trots! We used to go in a big group of teens, it was more about checking out boys, than the horses! lol

I will be remembering the gummies tip, next time I have to have a colonoscopy. I usually live on pear juice and bovril...yuck! M x

Gummies - yes, I ate them for my last colonoscopy in July.  It really was helpful,  however I kind of grimace when I seem them in the store.  Memories!  Best suggestion ever was eating lightly 3 days before the prep.  Was really pretty easy if that's even possible...and always insist on the Gatorade prep.  Always!

Good luck Glennie, if you're up reading this.  I'd say the hx was easier than the mx, simply because you only have 3 or 4 small punctures and there's no fricking drain to contend with.  I'll be there with comfy nightgowns for you to put on because you won't be wanting anything elastic around your waist.  Wish I had thought to tell you that earlier darn it.

O2 you're having surgery on Tuesday?  Is this for your gallbladder?  Good luck and be sure to check in when you're home.

Went to bed at 10. Woke up at 2 needing the bathroom again.  Couldn't go back to sleep. So watched some TV.  Lost 3 pounds overnight.  4 am now. Sharon will be here at 6 to drive me.

    Back soon!  Hugs to all.

In the bag for G by text.  Poor G.  She is pooping her brains out!  Top of the phone tree, indeed!  Will be teaching, but will be back to post at 2:30 or so.

O2, I love the thought of your robe! M, you are right, as usual.  I found Lululemon too.  Will have to save up for it -- all my discretionary income went to childcare this month -- but I think that's the one.  I believe we were supposed to be boycotting lululemon because they said something negative about curvy women.  I will have to look that up.

Birdie, those cookies sound perfect.  I am bringing my new GF beer.  Was totally GF for a week -- I am normally avoiding gluten in these past months, but make exceptions if I want them -- but two weekends ago I ate a lot of rye volkenbrot and a hoagie sandwich (with 7-grain bread) and really suffered the consequences, as I said (somewhere?), so I completely eliminated this week.  Really big difference.  Yikes.  Looks like I must live the GF lifestyle.

I feel our Glennie will be so happy after this sx.  I am chanting for no complications whatsoever including vomiting.  Hope she has got the post-sx vomiting thing solved by now.  I know I do.  Have special and more-risky anaesthesia plan that causes no vomiting, but puts me at higher risk for dying on table.  Excellent plan!

    In the bag!

In the bag. Good advice PRB.

I wore granny panties after my gyn procedures. Couldn't see very well so bought a size 10 instead of  size 6. Thought I was getting 10 pairs! They did the job.

Hi everyone, just going to be, thought  I would check in.

Hey Bobo, I thought that Lululemon might suit you! Boycott? noooooo, not if it's the only one you like, I will boycott as a curvy girl!

Hi 02, I am thinking of you too, in the bag if you need me! I am so thrilled your friends will be moving close by, how good will that be!

Yes, the pics are at my house, Colin took the one outside in the front garden for last year's story and one of his carers took the recent ones in our family room.

Opp Shop, opportunity shop= thrift shop! I am addicted, always have been, I love a bargain, like you wouldn't believe! It' like a sport to me! lol

You take care of you! Let us know how you're doing, as soon as you're able to...hugs M x

Zills, you make me laugh...thought you were getting 10 pairs!

I wore seamless knit panties, no elastic, after my Gyn ops too.

I used to throw up, non stop, after anesthesia, but it turned out to be the pre med, not the anesthesia at all. As soon as I stopped having drugs before the surgery, I never threw up after the surgery again....go figure.

Bed time...take it easy ladies, catch you in the morning..M x

    Glennie update via text:

    Heading home.  Got pain.

I assume this means she is actually in pain, and not that she has gotten her pain meds, since she filled those scripts early.  Poor Glennie!  It's terrible to not have your pain controlled after sx.  That's the whole point of the anaesthesiologist, in my opinion.  They should have it well-controlled by the time you leave.

Sending G all my healing and pain-free thoughts.  She probably won't want visitors tomorrow; thinking of going by Thursday lunchtime with some soup.  XXX

She does, S.  Her best friend is there for an overnight and tomorrow, I believe.  She has extra care for her pup as well.

Made soup for her yesterday.  From my hare krishna book.  Hope she likes it!

hi everyone!   Thanks for being in the bag.  It went well. Only lost a teaspoon of blood.  I have 4 little incisions and I swear my belly is smaller already without that huge uterus.  I was warned about the gas pain and I got it.  Did not dose myself with enough Dilaudid before leaving but once I got home and got Motrin and Percocet in me, things are much better.  The gas has settled around my ribs and it's rather uncomfortable.  It floats up to my shoulder too.  But all in all, now that pain is controlled I'm good except for dry mouth which I always seems to get.  The belly is not hurting and I had a green pee from the dye!  Fun!

wanted to post that before I lost it.  I'm on iPod and sometimes things happen.  Sharon is spending the night, Melinda brought over a quiche, and neighbor Brenda will dog sit Ava tonight so I don't stumble over her getting to the bathroom. Slumber party for Ava!

So aside from the gas pain I think I'm doing good.  They were respectful of my lymphedema requests. No iv's or Bp's in that arm.  So I don't see any swelling or issues there!

    Wheeee!!!   It's over!!
