Reporting in. Put your feet up Z! I totally know how that feels. In fact, it's taking me forever to get ready in the mornings. I just cannot get my act together. And getting more and more behind with housework since I am no longer working from home. I used to just basically clean up all day while I was working, whenever I moved from room to room. And I would start dinner. Now I come home and it's all to be done from scratch.
Reporting in to say I still can't get our princess to stay in her bed. W boy would sleep at any time. We have a 'strike list' on the fridge -- three strikes and you're out for the Gator game party! Our princess only cares during the actual game. Otherwise, she just snorts when we give her a strike and tosses her head, like a giant horsie.

I'm actually home this morning. Need to get the house in order and pay bills. Yuck!
Anyone heard of the movie Boxtrolls? Fall break is next week. I usually take the boy.
He never did ask for anything to eat. Had a bowl of cereal for breakfast. He's practicing bike tricks - skidding, jumping. He fell twice. Got hot and stripped down to underwear (so did BG - copycat). I told him the professionals wear long sleeves, pants, pads. Didn't listen. Scrapes not too bad.
She did go to sleep before 9! And stayed in bed until 6. Crawled into our room. Then fell asleep on my shoulder until 7 when I had to get up.
She's always hungry in the am but doesn't always eat dinner. Asks for hot oatmeal??? Then ate a bowl of Cheerios. And asked for a cookie and whatever else she could see that I was packing lunches.

BOBO came to see me! *so excited* she got to meet Ava and bought me soup. Looking forward to lunch! Then she had to run to work, so she will report in later.I go to my first post op appt tomorrow. I feel pretty good, somewhat sore, but not too bad. Taking meds on regular basis. Must concentrate on pooping today. Got plenty of food and people walking dog, so all is well.
JS: don't work too hard!! Hope this week's chemo goes OK.
O2: hope all is well with your surgery!!

Teaching. Hi Betty!

Hi all, just got caught up with everything, I am forgetting which of the 2 threads I have posted on! Glad all is good Glennie, isn't it amazing how far that surgery has come. I remember friends being in Hospital for a week with big abdominal incisions. I am so glad they can do it this way now and you can recuperate at home, and quickly. Enjoy the Bobo soup!
JSJ so pleaaed to see you too, I think you're pretty amazing doing all you're doing while in treatment.
I am going to have a Spa Pedi at the beauty school today, so have to get ready now and visit my friend at the Opp Shop first, then into town...catch everyone later! M x

Oh! Am jealous of spa pedi. My feet look like rhino feet. I do think I am going to do that thing where I don't have polish on my toes so that they can see if I am suffocating. I do this because I have NEW MAGIC THREAD BRACELET and I am hoping the nurses will let me keep it on! And maybe hide it under my med bracelet! When it falls off you get your wish! ** I am an idiot**
Okay. M, I want a short haircut again. But it is just growing out! I was going to go for "the chop" -- except Ihave had to grow it out for the chop -- the Karlie Kloss chop. But then I had a dream that I cut my hair short and stopped doing root touchup and was my authentic self because I have been doing so much yoga. I know I can talk this kind of crazy talk to you and you will totally understand.
So I don't want to do something I will regret but I feel this strong pull! So glad I have this big hair emergency instead of worrying about being maimed in upcoming sx, or suffocating with the more dangerous anaesthetic that I have now so I won't rip my stitches vomiting. At last, I am focusing on what is really important! Please weigh in! Haircut was already scheduled for this weekend.

M, I just miss you so much right now!

Bobo, I am here, what can I do? Don't be missing me, I am here if you need me!
Get the nurses to put micropore tape over the bracelet like they do with wedding rings, no problem, just remove it gently! It doesn't stick like glue. The no toe polish is a fair trade off! Not suffocating while under, is a good thing! Yay
Had to look up Karlie Kloss, don't know of her, not surprising, she's 12. Can't find any really short hair pics of her so I guess you mean the slightly messy in between cut? If your hair will hold it, that's great, but so often those kin d of cuts lose their tousled oomph by lunchtime and just look like you need a haircut..know what I mean?
I do understand, hair emergency is better to be thinking about!
I am sorry, but your dream made me laugh! That is what I did, when I decided to see what my natural hair color, actually was. I looked weird for a bit, as I let it grow out. I had it cut really short and kept it that way every couple of weeks till it came through in my natural color. I did do some semi permanent color so as not to shock too much. I really liked the color, when it grew out, so I have kept it and just let it go to the platinum silver that it is now. Not suggesting that it would work for you, or anyone else, I just didn't want to be coloring any more. I have kept the short hair too and have never considered growing it out.
I believe this kind of dream is supposed to mean new beginnings, you have lots of hose kinds of signposts, is the Owl around?
I promise I will meditate during my Spa Pedi and as the girl is massaging my, just shaved this morning legs, I will transport that bliss to you! Take care lovely one...M x

oh, Bobo,, you got the bracelet?? COOL! Haircut emergency,, here to help.I'm letting my red grow out. I've had it a year and I want to see how gray I am now. But I'm tired of the chemicals,, so not sure if I'll go back to coloring it or not.
Announcement: had first post op appt and ALL IS WELL. She is very pleased. My uterus only weighed 294 gm **surprised** was sure it was heavier! The lack of pressure on my bladder is so wonderful; I am not peeing nearly as much as before. **truly amazing** She says I can slowly go back to usual activities depending on my energy level, just not too much too fast. Get blood work Oct 20 (just to check estrogen level) and back to see her Oct 30. I already got her to sign my back to work papers and I'll go back Oct 17th as I had planned to do.
Feeling pretty good,,, MUCH better than I thought I would,,, seriously!! Will do walking this week,, next week go back to gym to recumbent bike only and see how that goes, and progress from there. Pooping action next,,, time for milk of mag. *yuck*

Well done Glennie! Onward and Upward from here! M x

Excellent news, G! Pooping next. Wow. I really did not do the pooping well last sx. Will have to get aggressive immediately for this one.
M, you are right! KK has above-shoulders chop. And you are right -- it could look really scraggly by lunchtime. I have about twenty gray hairs in the front. I really don't have many. But they have bothered me in the past, and I felt I had to look 'put together,' so I made my stylist color it, and plus he put in face-framing highlights and DLLP hates them. They did end up turning kind of brassy after many washes. My hair will most likely never be a beautiful platinum like yours. I have been through such an extreme amount of stress (as I know you have, and probably all of us have), that I cannot believe it is not completely white by now. But it is not.
So if I 'grow it out' for the gray it will only be about twenty grays growing out in front, no big deal to most people, but we'll see how it bothers me. This is the most boring and self-involved with respect to cosmetics post ever. I apologize to everyone. And also I invite everyone to weigh in on whether or not I should cut my hair. I miss idesim.
Trying to be cool. Trying to keep myself cheerful. Trying to keep it light at home. It's funny M -- I think I received your good thoughts, because I was taking a shower and the light came through your sun catcher and sent prisms all over the bathroom... I always tell DLLP I am 'taking a shower with M'!
Birdie, how are Squeakers and Goldie getting along? Still on the bed at same time? XXX

I used to frost my hair many years ago. It helped blend the grey. Then one day I realized the grey/white hair had won. Now it's white, but not platinum like Ms. Darn it! It's also EXTREMLY short. When I drove the bus, in the heat, there was no point in trying to have a 'do. It's just easier now. Less to fool with

Spookie, you make me laugh! We are all jealous of M swanning around with her platinum hair, sunglasses, sunflower-coloured dressing gown... Barry the Postman has been whipped into a priapic frenzy!
Owl was back for the last sx, it was wild! Because I have not heard him any other time! So I am wondering if he will be there for this one. I know you think I am just listening for him specially during those times and not others. But honestly I have listened for him at other times and have not heard him. For instance, when I walk Bo later at night, I never hear him. I am ready for you to come back, owl!

Growing hair out sucks. Neither mousse nor gel hold until lunch. Have thought about shaving my sides but it's taken so long to get to this point and it's supposed to get cool this weekend.
Boy's teacher wears cute barrettes and bandana headbands. I love just the gray swatch in front.
My color has held pretty good since before Ireland. No since doing anything now. Zombie hair!

Bobo: Tenn game this weekend. Are the kids watching or do they have 3 strikes? I definitely have more gray than you do.I hate growing hair out. Mine seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Easier. Think I had a hot flash last night. Be interesting to see how the hormone changes affect me. Good thing weather will be getting cooler.

Hi girls! Here are some shots from the Makeover Morning, it was fabulous! Everyone had such a good time. I did 2 "natural" makeovers and everyone loved the results! Everyone joined in and played with all the color and asked lots of makeup tips, questions. Then a big group of us went out for lunch afterward, lots of fun! Excuse the nasty, red, right eye!

Oooh M, thanks for posting pics! Glad you had a good time, I'm sure all of the ladies appreciated your expertise. It is a wonderful thing to do M, you are such a gem! Xx
Bobo, new haircut coming your way? I wish I knew what it looks like now, but I have no clue! Is it straight, wavy, shoulder length? What does DLLP think you should do with it? And are you being put under for your next Tx? In the bag.
Zills, BG was in bed from 9pm until 6am? That sounds like progress. But now bobos princess is getting up. I like hot oatmeal too, with a dollop of jam, or rhubarb, yumm. Not dollop, I have forgotten the other word we were to use.
So, spookiesmom, Georgia is your team, and bobos? But not Glennie's?
I have nearly made it thru the school holidays I did have to tell DD to "just stop talking" though! Can't cope with the constant chatter, mean mum I am! Lol going for a massage in the a.m. Looking forward to that. Xxx

hey Glennie. Hey y'all ~~~
I am so glad this is over for you. I had similar surg tues. They got gall stones and bladder out had to milk out the stones in the duct. They found a black blob on my uterus and sent it to pathology. Doc got a obgyn in there to look at ovary cuz there was" a cookie that looked like big vanilla chips". Neither doc ever saw anything like it. So they drew a ca125 which resulted as7 which I think is good. So I got the works. 5 holes and the belly button stick is the worst. Lots of bruising!!! Glad it's over. Still cancer free yay. We both gonna be ok. And.......... We both are still alive so that is good.
Happy healing
O2

O2: oh my! A black blob and a cookie with vanilla chips??? How descriptive! I got 3 holes,,, we can compare scars! I'm so glad you reported in and are doing well. This AM I feel really tired. Course, I just woke up but still. Feel way more tired than yesterday, yet I don't think I overdid it yesterday. Must be more cautious today, I suppose.M: looks like you and the girls had a lovely time!! What a great group you have there. Thanks for the piccies and you look FAB. Cannot see red eye at all.
Dawny: Spookie's team is Georgia (GA) and Bobo and I both have Florida (FL) for our team. Bobo and I live in the town where the University of FL is located. Go Gators!! That's the mascot.
Is it a bloop of jam? instead of a dollop?
I have two weeks more off before I go back to work. Wheeeeeee!! Hope to be feeling much better then.

I think dollop is fine for jam, it's bloop for liquids
O2 - glad you posted and all went well. Strange things they are finding in you!
Glennie - poop report? 4 days.. it's time! If I remember right, the nurse told me to mix prune juice with apple juice and warm it up.
M - that looks like a lot of fun and you look great as always. We're proud to have you as our spokes model - floating around with fairy dust and spreading the magic.
Dark, rainy day here and had a real hard time getting ready for work. Tried to talk DD into skipping school but it was a no go. What is wrong with this kid? She always looks at me in amazement when I offer up these notions of playing hooky ...but I have to drive her and I wanted a day off. What about my needs, right????
I forgot to mention... I started the Arimidex yesterday. I waited a whole year to do this. Staying away from the Arimidex thread... doom and gloom over there. Wish me luck. Day 2.

Yes, a bloop! Thanks Glennie!
O2, thanks for checking in, sounds like you went through an ordeal. Yikes! Glad it was all clear, and now you can heal, and compare notes with Glennie! Xx

PRB: poop report is yuck. Had icky liquid yesterday,, not normal. GYN said could be a week before normal. Going with more fiber today. But at least, I passed something yesterday,, and not just gas. Good luck with Arimidex. Stay away from gloom and doom. More people report the bad stuff than the good stuff. Cannot believe your kid does not want to play hookey. What is with kids these days??
Bobo: Thanks again for soup. It was yummy and very healing. Someone asked and I think I forgot to answer. It had lentils and ginger and zucchini in it. And it was green, which is a healing color.
Prune and apple juice, huh? hmmmmm

Looking good even with a red eye!

The decision to not reconstruct or reconstruct is very personal. There is no “right way” to approach mastectomy and choice whether to go flat or reconstruct. There is only the way that is best for you, your preferences, and your healing.
We are looking to hear your stories and/or quotes on this topic. What is the experience of your diagnosis, treatment, and choice to not reconstruct? What helped guide you in your decision, and select the option that was best for you? If you opted against reconstruction, have you been satisfied with that decision, and what led you to that choice? Your experiences will help others newly diagnosed get through their journeys - do you have any advice for those considering reconstruction, or deciding not to reconstruct?
Please share your age, country where you live, type of, or lack of reconstruction you selected, inspiring messages, and a high-quality image of yourself or something that represents you (not your chest please).
We'd love to add your story to this section: Acknowledging our Members

I thought this site was for those who chose no reconstruction. We are all newly diagnosed here and struggling with all the mess that goes on with breast ca. And now we are not posting correctly???? That is THE most damning thing anyone has said to me since I got this disease from hell!!!!!
