    Oh bugger, Menopause, of course!

I started at 38, all done by 45, but those hot flashes and sweats were wicked. My ex used o say he could feel me radiating, from the other side of the bed. They always got me at that very moment I was dropping off to sleep!

I hope they don't go on for too long for you.

What are you going to see?

This is where I leave you.   It has Tina Fey & Jason Bateman in it.  Dysfunctional family gets together, forced my dead father's last request to sit shivah for a week and try to get along. Heard it was funny.  I think Jane Fonda is the Mom.

I'm taking DD and friends to The Maze Runner.   It has fairly good reviews.  Sounds kind of creepy.  Kids locked inside a maze or something like that.

DD has no homework this weekend... guess who's bored?   Gotta love it.

What am I on?  Day 4 of Arimidex?   Had some weird 'moments' yesterday.  Felt kind of light headed for a bit, took a nap, woke up all panicky ...and then had very strange back/shoulder pain for the rest of the night.  I was ready to throw in the towel, but am better today.   Heating pad has always been my friend.

Bobo is your surgery this week?  Also.. I caught that "when on camera" statement too.   Do tell.

You're right, Glennie. They would have to prove to me in advance that I would look 40 again before I'd invest that much. I can't seem to remember to use any kinds of lotion, even though it's obvious that I need to.

I had a crappy day on Thursday. We lost our internet. Our provider said it was the phone line and they would tell the phone co. to check out the line. They finally came on Sat and said it was the modem. So DH went and bought a new modem and the phone co was right. So happy to have the internet back.

Went to my first fall art class on Thurs afternoon. On the way back my car committed suicide. Looks like I'm going to be in the market for a new car. Man, we are reeling from unexpected expenses. Our horoscopes (we're both scorpios) said to save money and review finances. Guess this was what they were warning us about.

Goldie has decided to attack Squeakers every chance she gets. He refuses to engage and is afraid of her, I think. Maybe he hasn't noticed she doesn't have teeth. Someone at the shelter posted a link to an Animal Planet show about Turkish Van cats. It's like looking at a video of Goldie. She was sitting on my lap and started watching when she heard the first meow. Didn't take her eyes off the screen until it was over.

M, that sounds about right.  Thank you for your sweet words. Was it PRB who asked (Hi ND!)?  My sx is not this week, but next.  And then at least one more after that.  :(  Frownie face does not seem to do it here.

G, hot flashes suck!  I have been there.  I have fewer now, but I did have them when I was about to sleep, like M.

Poor Birdie!  Unexpected expenses suck.  I loved my G and S update, but not the content.  Poor Squeakers!  I am hoping Goldie will calm down.  She is obviously very protective of you and does not want to lose her position in the house.

Z, how is BG?  Hate to think of her not feeling well.  Hate to think of more antibiotics.  Looks like Dr M is on the case.  And how is Firebob?  I have been worried about him too.

Dawny, it's stupid.  I do this stupid thing for my work where I write scripts and film the tutors giving lessons for the students.  I always made it a criterion that I would not be in them.  But the head of the Freshman common course (the Humanities course all students take) insisted on having me do small modules for his students.  I wanted access to the all of the Freshman for my studies, so I did several.  It was terrible.  My hair was crazy in a few of them!

LIsten: I have not bought a big tub of it, by any means, but that Perricone stuff really does work.  It is excellent.  I am thinking of saving up for more, Birdie.  I don't know if it makes me look forty.  :)

Wrenn, that's awful. I am so rrry you've had such a bad week with the internet and now the car. No one needs that kind of extra expense, out of the blue!

What can you do about Goldie attacking Squeakers?

PRB, have fun at the movies! I hope those feelings have nothing to do with the Arimadex!

I read the Perricone Promise, years ago and I think I tried a couple of his vitamin C skincare items, but I hadn't heard of this one. Too expensive for me too.

    Glennie, how was your movie?

Won't be doing too much today, I still have sore feet from yesterday, damn arthritis has kicked in, so will need more steroids for a few days. Boooooo!

    hey y'all!!!

Bobo girl I wish this was all behind you!!!!  Please let me know whatever I can do.........all this crap sucks!!  Should have been a preventative cure like a vaccine long long ago.  This cancer is a huge business now.   Take care of yourself.  I need a MD update when you are up for it.

Glennie. How is the tummy?  Menopause sucks but is doable!!!  Remember that every time you see. A 80-90'year old. They got through it and so will we!!

Prb---  I changed my pharmacy cuz when I first started on Arimidex the first week was weird for sure. Nausea every night.  Now on Arimidex from Arimidex direct . Com and am very happy with that brand name drug.  You will be fine I promise.  Just a weird little drug.  Now I miss it if I have to miss my dose!!!

I take it about 530 in the morning and forget it!  Well take all my calcium and vit D3. Take it all then and go on about my day.  I treat it like a vitamin.  Take it and forget it!!!

    More later

    O2

I love that sign, M!   Guttergums Unite, indeed! Sorry about sore feet.  Arthritis sucks.

The movie was ok. At the end, I thought,,, huh, you think this family is so dysfunctional,,, you should see mine!  *I probably shouldn't see these types of movies*

Wren:  Oh, it's been a bad few days for you!  Sad that the kitties have not worked things out yet.

Why are hot flashes at night?  Like I need more disturbed sleep?  I got enough of that already.

The glue is almost completely gone from over one of the incisions. She said I could peel it off after 2 weeks, but this one is doing it all on its own. The bruising is turning a lovely shade of yellow now. Not really attractive for my skin tone.

Oh M:   yellow eye,,, no fun there.  **we are twins**

Back in Jan, when I was going thru my temporary menopause, I only had night sweats and hot flashes in the evening. Go figure.  So far, it is repeating itself. My body seems to have a hot sweat between 3 & 5 AM every night now.

** so helpful with quality sleep**

Happy Labour Day M and Dawny!!   (it's on my calendar)

So I have been reading this book, The Paleo Manifesto.   I personally feel better when I adhere to that type of diet.

in a chapter on fasting, I found an interesting study quoted where it is cited that fasting prior to chemo, showed that the ones who fasted had less unpleasant SE from the chemo, and less mice died after treatment.  Additional studies has shown that fasting kills tumor cells on its own, and in combination with chemo, it improves the effectiveness of both.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC244881...

Here is one of the articles cited.

Have any of you heard of this?   Was it suggested to any of you who have been thru chemo to try fasting prior to it?

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22323820

And this is one other article.

I had an appointment with one of the other doctor's in my primary care's office a few years ago.   This was prior to my dx, and we were going over my bloodwork.  He was concerned about my triglycerides .. they have been going up over time, and I am overweight.   He was very pro fasting...said I should fast 1 day a week because it gives your digestive system a break and boosts the immune system  (and might help me lose weight).   I have been tempted to try it, but have never found the will power to do it.

Morning all! I wish I could do that diet and fast for a day each week, but I just don't have the willpower for it.

Quiet here today, I hope everyone is having a nice evening. We have had gale force winds over night and it isn't much better this morning. I have one really swollen foot, bloody arthritis has kicked in big time, to a couple of joints, makes me walk like an old lady! No walk for Dex today.

I had a call yesterday from Breast Nurse to ask if I will do another beauty day for a new group that has just started meeting. I had promised the makeup for them, but now another beauty day , so that will be fun! Don't know the date yet. I have a massage booked this afternoon. I really need it this week. Take it easy everyone...M x

One of my friends had her dad come to town today, so we went out to eat tonight. (Bobo:  Leonardo's 706)   So that was nice.

Hi Glennie, I got the time wrong, not till 4.15pm, so another hour. I could just go to sleep, I am so tired today. I have done another raffle box for Sunday and have started bagging up product for another Beauty Day. It has been chilly and very windy all day, no walks for Dex today!

Dinner out sounds nice, what did you have? I looked it up, nice Bistro? M x

Hi girls, guess what happened to me today???  I had a surprise from Ariom!  One of the goodie bags from her beauty day, huge bag of great things!  Of course, when I opened it, fairy dust, sparkles and rainbows showered down on me! ( sorry M, couldn't resist that. 😄 ). Such a lovely thing to do, bless her cotton socks.  I feel very spoilt.  A damp sponge is best for applying foundation?  I have just been using my fingers, is that really, really bad?   Thanks again M!

I too have now googled where you went for dinner Glennie, sounds good, especially the honey Apple pie!

You girls have M and I googling all sorts of things, I love it!   Xxx

Oh, Dawny,, what a nice surprise!!

Yes, it's a nice bistro.  They have the most awesome Sunday brunch buffet. Fantastic.    I had the lamb chops, which they do really well there. My friend always gets mussels,, she loves them.  They had dessert, but I didn't as I was stuffed. A lot of their desserts have nuts in them    : (    so when I do, I play safe and stick to peanut butter pie, cuz that's the nut I'm not allergic to.  My friend got pumpkin cheesecake and I was going to have a taste, but there was nuts in it!!  Who would put nuts in pumpkin cheesecake???   Abomination!!

    How was the massage, M?

    Ariom you are so thoughtful!!

Two of my daughters and one of my step-daughters ran in the CIBC Run For the Cure in Canada last Saturday(we just call all the girls our "daughters"- but somehow a surprise when a step child shows their love for a wicked stepmother lol).

The money raised goes to Canadian Breast Cancer research. 700 people ran in my hometown and raised over $118k.

But what really got me was when I saw their stickers they wore saying who they ran for. The son-in-laws had for their "Mom-in-law" and when I saw "for Grandma Andrea" I lost it!! Lol. Who knew you could cry so much while smiling.

I live 2600 miles away from my family so it was another way for them to feel connected to me and what I have gone through and fight back for their mom! So proud.

Spookiesmom, we had the same thought! Bless her cotton sock!! love it... boy am I going to use that one!! is that ok Dawny?? Ariom, what a sweet surprise you sent.. bless all of you besides the socks! You know, even in this day and age of high tech isnt it just wonderful to receive a hand written card or better yet present!! I know I love it.

Our weather had turned cold and windy,, dont think this damn wind will ever blow itself out. Expect the cooler temps, we were 90 degrees 2 weeks ago and now lucky if we hit 50. Please send some of your warm southern temps my way. I have been suffering a stiff/sore back, been doing some excercises that a pt gave me a few years back, kinda scared to go to a chiropracter, just not sure if they will help or hurt. Also bad shoulder too, geez enough complaining.. maybe some of this could be my arimidex too.. how do I know for sure? age or meds??

On a lighter note I have been a "nosey" neighbor.. we are getting chuckles from our divorcing neighbor. She is leaving him and the divorce is final, she is from Alaska, left last fall, now he brought her back (he is a trucker) and she is loading up a trailor/camper and is going to pull it back up there with a pickup truck. She has been here a week or more, but he is hoping she gets going because wife #1 is supposed to be coming back on Friday!! I dont have enough energy for all that dramaScared but keeps up looking anyway. I sure wouldnt want to pull/drive all the way to Alaska by myself.

    Waves and hugs to everyone.
