I think they told me Versed is closely related to valium. I love the stuff. Had it for endoscopy and colonoscopy. Propofol was used for my mx. The anesthesist  said it would be safe because I would be monitored constantly. I think I lost all my modesty after childbirth. It seemed like most of the hospital staff came in to check me, taking a really good luck at my parts. After that, I just don't give a rip. I worked with a nurse who had worked in ER for years. She said they just quit paying attention to what they were seeing - no matter how bizzare lol.

Holy shit.  All hell has broken loose over here.  I read DP's thread first and see her and Zills not doing well.. and now Bobo's dilemma.   Order!  Order in the court!

Bobo.. not only can you request the anesthesiologist you want, but you should ask to talk to him/her before your surgery.   Have them pull up your past surgeries to see how your vitals were throughout.  You've had some complications, and discussing this ahead of time gives them a heads up, and you a little peace of mind.  They might have some alternate drug suggestions.

I seriously hate your PS.   His job is to make you feel like everything is under control... instead he seems to love putting fear in your heart.  WTF?     I love my surgeon so much and wish you could go into this surgery with the trust I have for her.   Maybe if you had a female surgeon you wouldn't feel so freaked about someone seeing your privates.  You should take a magic marker and write something on your inner thigh.. like  "don't look here!"  and draw a big arrow!   Man, I really don't like this guy.

Some people do have trouble with Versed.  I was scared to have it before my first surgery, but was lucky that I didn't have any problems.  I requested my surgical report so I could see for myself if anything unusual went on during the surgery.  There was a pretty big drop in BP after the propofol, but when I brought this to the anesthesiologist's attention before my next surgery, they said that is very common and not really a problem... it's kind of 'expected'.

I know that Thursday is around the corner.. but don't let this shit go... demand to get who you want for the anesthesiologist or reschedule the surgery.

PRB, that's just how I felt, WTF! I can't believe the shit this guy has put Bobo through, he's supposed to be very good at what he does, but I have my doubts about his actual sanity.

I had to laugh at your idea of drawing the arrow of where not to look! I am like Wren, I have had so many gyn things go wrong in my, life that I have had the population of a small country looking up my woohoo too. I don't much care either. I do understand how Bobo feels though, I wouldn't feel the same way about this Dicktor, he's just way too weird for me. M x

Saturday morning here. I got up at 5AM to take friend to the airport. couldn't go back to sleep afterwards,, but then I wasn't sleeping well anyway due to the night sweats!!  What a lot of fun they are.  *not*

the arrow idea is a good one.  Actually I think they will drape any area that is not being actively operated on,,, so hopefully it will be covered up!  **using magic mind powers to make it so**

Hi Glennie, I am just going to bed. Wrote a note to remind me to take everything with me tomorrow. Should have packed the car today, but couldn't be bothered!

I have been a slob all afternoon, didn't do much at all.

Sorry you aren't sleeping too well. Hopefully the sweats will lessen and you'll feel better!

    I will check in when I get home tomorrow..Have a great weekend...M x

Bobo I will gladly be your fat donor.....please!!!! Lol. Wouldn't that be wonderful?! We would both benefit. If only!!

My daughter is a maternity nurse (used to also do delivery suite) and she says they are so focused on the procedure they barely notice you have a vagina.

Personally I was very modest and shy once upon a time. Now it doesn't bother me. I am not my body, it is just what I was stuck with on this earth, I most certainly didn't choose it.

I am what's inside me: my mind , my heart, my soul.

Please consider the fat offer. Lol

Oh good Glennie! You can feed the small village that is hiding under my belly! Lol.

Oh the things that don't matter anymore! I think I might miss the days when how I looked on the outside was my biggest worry.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Waves and hugs all around!

Morning ladies! Sorry, but you'll need to stand in line, I offered the fat donation way back and she hasn't taken me up on it yet! LOL

Just getting ready for the Expo today, the Sun is out and I think it should be warm, don't know what to wear. I have found when I go to these BC things, people stare at my chest. I guess they are just wondering, should I cover up, or push the envelope a little, with a lower cut cami? Bahahaha, the cami, of course!!!!! Catch you later...M x

You guys are so silly!  I can only use your fat if we are IDENTICAL TWINS.  We are not identical twins, are we?

Poll:  How many Ativan should I take before going to the hospital?  I want to take a serious amount, but not enough so that they won't do surgery.  Last two times, the nurses would not give Ativan, even though I asked for it.  I am just praying for a good nurse this time, that can make all the difference.

PRB, I have called anaesthesia this week.  I have requested the Dr (she's a fellow, actually) who saved my bacon last time with the block.  She actually asked to be present this time, it was all such a mess.  I have also told the PS about it, and secured permission for blocks before the surgery this time (instead of after the fact, when it's too late).  I have also gone for my very first facial (not really good) and went to yoga today, and I have a massage Tuesday.  I am doing everything right.  But I am the only one.

So, G especially, chime in with Ativan amounts!  I have .5 mg tabs.  I was thinking about three tabs -- two before leaving, one when I get there.  Even that won't really do anything, with all the adrenaline that is coursing through me.  Excellent idea about the arrows.  Unfortunately the PS is going to be marking all my private parts with his sharpie, which is demoralizing enough, thus taking some of the humor away from drawing your own arrows.

I know we are not identical twins cuz I'm a midget and you are not.

Still think you could draw your own arrows.  **don't look here**

Facial was not good?? I've never had one so have no idea what it is like.  Never had a mani-pedi either.  **embarassed**

How is meditation? And the beads?  I really need to know more about that. I need relaxation techniques. Wondering about acupuncture.

Nurses won't give anything unless they have a MD order for it.  I think taking 2 at home and 1 there is a good plan.  I know one anest at NF who routinely gives Valium tab 5-10 mg prior to surgery, so seems reasonable.  But you should let anest know as they might want to adjust your propofol or Versed dose.  I think it's good that she asked to be present for your surgery. And good to get the blocks arranged before surgery!  YAY for you!

Hi all The Expo went very well, lots of interesting people and I even found an outlet for my beaded Suncatchers. We have a local Craft Shop, where any local residents can sell their handmade goods. I had given a Suncatcher to someone recently as a gift and she suggested I should sell them, so I met the ladies that run the craft store today and they want to see some of my work tomorrow. I dashed home, made 6, very different ones, some for kids and some really big ones, so I will see tomorrow if they want to sell them for me.

The raffle went really well, but we decided to continue at the Farmers Market next month and then in December and draw the winner on that day.

Facial wasn't good Bobo? What happened?  We know we can't donate fat, but we really want to! lol

I know you aren't up for any comedy, but I would write in big letters, AVERT YOUR EYES! on my thigh. I had a girlfriend who went to the same Gyn as me, he was fabulous and gorgeous, I loved him and had a great sense of humor. She put pink glitter in her pubic hair for him once, as a joke!

Glennie, I did Acupuncture for a while for pain of RA, it does help a lot for pain, don't know about other things and Meditation is something I have done forever and couldn't do without. The Acupuncturist I went to, used to stick a few extra needles in my face at the same time, for lifting benefits to the skin!

I nearly jumped out of my skin! We are having a huge storm and the thunder is right overhead, so I felt the ground move. Lucky Dex isn't bothered by it. Will have to turn the lights out and watch the lightning. Glad of the rain, it was 29c today and is supposed to be 14c tomorrow. M x

Good morning, everyone.   Our football team lost 30-27    a tight hard-fought battle.  I blame it on the fact that my team was wearing f*cking pink!!  Pink mouthgards, pink socks, pink armbands,,, UGH!!! Made me ill.

I like the AVERT YOUR EYES sign.  That's a good one.

Love that map,,, sharks everywhere! OMG!  Where do the penguins live?? Near the convicts?

Exciting news about your Suncatchers.  Hope they want to sell them.  Have you posted piccies of them before? I don't think I've seen them.

It has warmed up here again,, but we are supposed to get rain on Tues and cool down again.  Hope so.

So last night, I slept until 5AM and then woke up with a big hot flash.  But I slept until 5, so that was pretty good. Put on the fan,, that helped. Went back to sleep and had another around 7,,, much better than the night before.

Good morning  Glennie! Sorry about your team, but pink 'll do that every time!

I thought the map was funny!

I haven't posted any shots of the sun catchers, but I make them with lead crystal balls and mostly antique glass beads, which I have been collecting for years. I used to sell them to girls who worked for other airlines, at Christmas, when I worked at the airport. As my RA got worse, I didn't do it as much and I have barely made any, since I moved here. I made one for a friend recently and it was her who suggested I sell them at the Craft shop. It was purely and accident that I met the women who run the shop today.

I hope the Hot Flashes settle down for you. I still get the odd one, which reminds me of how awful they were when I was having then regularly.

I watched the first episode of Gotham tonight and have started watching Cat Woman with Halle Berry, I haven't seen it before. I should be going to bed, but I am suckered in!  Have a great Sunday....M x

Good morning all! Bobo, my heart hurts that you are going through all of this. I have the flying bitch slapper already in the bag. M- showed sailman the gorgeous pix of Colin sailing and all he could do was jealously say @$$hole with a big grin on his face. I love the Australia map. That is too funny! Glennie I hope the sweats get better. After a couple of weeks they put me on a low dose premarin that has really helped. Blood transfusion Friday went well. Heck, if I had known it would make me feel this much better, I would have begged for one earlier. I have missed something... what is wrong with our Zills?

JSJ, that is the sweetest story about Colin and Sailman!  You guys, writing AVERT YOUR EYES with a Sharpie on my thigh is such a good idea, but I fear I am not feeling very funny these days.  I am feeling more afraid.  Where are you Z?  Buried in housework and childcare tasks?

DLLP has done a half-assed couple of cleaning tasks -- after telling me she would handle everything this weekend -- and then left me to deal with the kids by myself while she went off to work for the afternoon.  After that she will pick up two things at the store -- two, and it will take her forty minutes -- and then she claims she will take the baby to starbucks so they can have alone time.  Meanwhile, I am cleaning the house and making the dinner all on my own.  She was doing the bathroom yesterday, and said, I'm done!  I went in, took a piece of toilet tissue, ran it over a little of the grout,  and held it up to her.  Black.  Well, she said, I need heavy-duty cleaning products, not these natural ones.  Really?  I said.  A piece of dry toilet paper seems to have done something.

M, my facial was NG.  It was just: put cleanser on, wipe it, put scrub cleanser on, wipe it, little steam machine, and some serums -- no creams!  No massage!  NONE!  No extraction!  She was like, well, we do that for the longer one.  Well, I can totally wash my face by myself.  I had to go home and put a mask on my t-zone myself.  I thought of you the whole time!  She did do this roller machine over my under-eyes -- it gave little pricks like a shock, it is supposed to make the dark circles not so bad.  Hope it works.  I swear!  It was not very luxurious!

So that's a little taste of how DLLP is going to act during surgery week.  Oh, and plus I get no time to myself.  Friday is a holiday here, so the kids will be home, plus DLLP.  Saturday Sunday, same thing, and I'll just have to push DLLP around, telling her what to shop for.  Monday is my only time with no one around to aggravate me.  Tuesday I go back to work.

Bobo, Maybe you need a list of restaurants that deliver. Or make something ahead that you can reheat. A big pot of carrot/sweet potato soup would last. But I forget you have a vitamix and can make soup in 10 min you lucky thing.

Well, Birdie, you can make soup if you have all the ingredients, and they are washed and prepped, and ready to be blended, and you are not exhausted and on drugs..

You can tell me what ingredients and I can wash and prep them,,,, and then you can instruct me from the couch how to put in Vitamix.

Won't DLLP take kids to Homecoming parade so you can be alone?   *just a thought*

    Morning all!

Geeesh, Bobo that's just shitful! It just shouldn't be this difficult.

Glennie you're a lifesaver! Glennie is willing to do the Vitamix for you, so you can have some yummy good stuff. I actually love the Vitamix soup the following day, so let Glennie create something for you to have the next day, too.

Let me know if you need recipes for great soup!

Take Wren's idea and get some food sent in, don't be fart arsing around in the kitchen when you should be resting. I am getting a feeling that DLLP hasn't had a lot of illness or surgeries in her life, so doesn't "get" the rest and recuperation thing!

I like the idea of the rest of the family going to Homecoming Parade, whatever that is and leaving you alone to rest.

Now that was a lousy facial, no mask and dermal rolling? That's unusual!

     Take it easy ladies...be back later...M x

Duh, Glennie, just walked away from the computer and remembered about the Penguins. They are about 3 hours drive from here, closer to Melbourne. They are Fairy Penguins so cute little ones. They come in a Dusk to their homes in the Sand Dunes. They waddle up the beach with full tummies that often make them fall over. Thy are very cute and a huge tourist attraction.

Spookiesmom, I have no idea why the Giant Spiders appear to be where we are. I had heaps more spiders, in general, when I lived in the city, most likely because we were across the road from the Williamstown Botanic Gardens. We would get quite big Huntsman Spiders there. Even though we are surrounded by farm;and have the native trees all around us, I rarely see a spider, never mind a giant one.

OH, M,,, I so want to see the penguins!!  They are so cute.

Next weekend is Homecoming weekend.  It's when the college alumni are especially invited back. The football game is "special",, meaning that we should be playing an easy team to beat,, which makes the alumni happy,, and they will donate more money to the university.  **cynical me**    So on Friday,, there is always a big parade.  School is CLOSED for the dang parade.  And I mean, grade school, etc, not just university.  That way the whole town can go to the parade.  Seems like that would be a good thing for DLLP to take the kids to see and give Bobo some quiet time.  **just thinking**

**glennie kidnaps Bobo and brings her here for peace and quiet**
