yep, red cars arent safe... just traded mine for a black one yesterday... thanks on the fireplace Glennie, decided if hubby is retiring end of this month, winter coming on, needed a nice warm place to read my books, and of course keep in touch with all you lovely ladies.

Need the housecleaning fairy too, a little embarrassed when the guys brought the fireplace in and the corner was pretty dusty.. oh well better things in life to do than clean house.. had a friend that said you could train any old monkey to do housework but they couldnt read a book, visit etc.. agreed!

OH... when my house was broken into 3 weeks ago, it was a Friday, and by the end of the week the house is out of control.  Yeah.. embarrassing that the police were walking around taking pictures of the mess.   I have tried to stay on top of it since then.   Met with the insurance guy today, and as luck would have it, I forgot my 'list of stolen items' at work yesterday.  I did it from memory and missed a few things, but nothing big.  Had I known they were going to cap some of my losses like jewelry and cash,  I may have added something to the stolen list to cover it.  Well.. that's not true.  I wouldn't have lied because I've had enough bad luck in the past year....I don't need any more bad karma coming my way.

I agree about the red car not making me bullet proof.

PRB, My SIL's house was broken into when her children were small and they were out camping. I think neighbors had called the police. She looked around at the mess and had to say "No, this is what it looked like when we left".

We have two silver cars.  Poor PRB, getting house broken into.  You must still be shell-shocked.

ND, you are such a good friend.  I know what you mean about your friend.  I ate and slept better immediately after my mx.  Ooooh.  I love your electric fireplace.  Does it get hot?  Your tv doesn't melt?  It is just so nice to look at!  Now I want to live with you more.

Well... I don't mean to rub it in... and I am by no means rolling in cash.. in fact I was laid off my third job... but... the cleaning fairy did come to my house today.  For one hour.  It is so nice not to push DLLP around and beg her to help me clean the house.  And I am three weeks out of sx.  So I re-fired up the cleaning service from last year.  Will probably keep it until January.  Just found out I have one fewer class in Spring than I have now.  So probably will not keep it past then.

One hour of cleaning makes a difference!?  I clean for an hour all the time, and it doesn't feel like it is making any difference.  Whole body aches, and my brother will be here in an hour.  Yikes.  Cannot take shower.

Idesim, what was the name of that bracelet you forced all of us to buy so many of last year?  Glennie needs to know. XXX

Morning ladies, well I had a great sleep, so did Colin and things are settling down here. I  had some kind of house cleaning epiphany while Colin was away and did everything, so it is still looking pretty good, even the outside is pretty schmick, mental note to take some pics, in case it doesn't last! LOL

I think I mentioned Colin has acquired a beard during his Hospital stay and after a haircut yesterday he is looking nice and "rugged" but well groomed, I like it, for the moment, so we will see. He seems to be feeling pretty good and loved the rare roast beef and horseradish and other special stuff, including the 10 bars of his all time fave chilli dark chocolate I found at Aldi!

It i a beautiful day today, water is like glass, the sun is out and there is nothing but the sound of birds. I don't have anything I have to do today, Colin is going to watch the model yachts race.

Zills, I have no clue what your sisters' problem is, just plain silly, if you asked me. I don't "get" people, if they are conflicted or confused, why don't they just ask the questions that are bugging them? Too easy!

I have had lots of different car colors, never a red one. My Dad never drove, neither did my Mother. Although my Dad was not what I would call superstitious, and he was a total skeptic, about so many spiritual things, he did go to an Indian Soothsayer when he was in the Navy, who told him he must never drive that he would have a terrible, fatal accident. It must have bothered him, because he never had a car, of any color, nor did he ever have cancer!!!!! I had a reading, in China, one of many, in my lifetime that said I should never drive a red car, so I never have, not difficult!

Love the fireplace ndgirl, what a lovely spot for the Winter! I can't believe you're snuggling up at the fire and it is going to be 34c here today!

Colin No2 is not doing well at all. He has been having a rough time with the distinct possibility of them having to go in and reseal his lung, which appears to be leaking. He had his bone marrow biopsy, which indicates something other than Leukemia, but he also just heard that something has been found in his throat which is to be biopsied on Monday. All this comes from the original Pet that he had weeks ago and they seem to be finding other stuff to biopsy. He isn't faring well, he hates the Hospital and the Nurses, especially and he is getting paranoid from the drugs, so I feel very sorry that I can't do anything, other than reassure him on the phone, that there really isn't a conspiracy going on.

Glennie, I'd have you and the 75lb dog on my beach anytime!!!! M x

Hey bobo, posting together! Alex and Ani! I wear mine every day, thanks to ldesim!

Glad too hear you have budgeted for a cleaning fairy, you do far too much. Just an hour by someone else will make a difference.

ndgirl, I am so glad you are going with your friend, that will make all the difference to her experience. Don't let it get you down. You are a wonderful friend.

PRB, I am glad you are getting your insurance, so you can enjoy replacing your lost items. M x

I missed some posts again.  PRB:  glad you are getting the insurance!!  Don't worry about the mess. There are more important things than cleaning, in my opinion.

M:  glad that your Colin is back home and settling back in with his new rugged look.  Interesting story about your Dad and never driving a car! Sorry to hear that Colin 2 is not doing well.  Why have they not invented transporters a la Star Trek yet???  We could really use them!!  It would be SO MUCH easier to be in the bag for each other if we could transport to the location for a few hours.  The science community need to get right on this.  And Ava and I would love to visit your beach.  **need transporter***

So I need a good luck talisman.  There was an issue with a patient that turned into a legal issue (I can't give details) and I have to give a deposition about it. I am extremely nervous and stressed over this. I've never done it before, and I'm basically freaking out. The only good news is that it is on Dec 1st which is my boy Rocco's birthday and I hope his spirit will bring me luck. I thought I would carry a picture of him in my purse, but I need a talisman that I can wear, hence Bobo was asking about the name of the bracelets. Any other suggestions for good luck talismans are greatly appreciated.

I'm sitting here eating a carton of cherry tomatoes again. Didn't I do this last Friday?  This time, I'm dipping them in ranch dressing. Rather yummy.

Oh, and by the way, I am walking to Canada.  From Key West to Canada, up U.S.1, it is 2446 miles.   I am keeping track of the miles I walk around the neighborhood, at the gym, and also counting the bike at the gym. So I'm walking/biking to Canada.  **I need a goal**  I'm at 79.8 miles now.  At 161, I'll have made it to Miami. Whoop!

If Badger (on another thread, some of you know her) can walk almost 5000 miles,, I can do this too.  Would be way more fun to do in real life, though.   And I would record more miles if I wore a Fitbit or pedometer everywhere, but hey,, I can't do everything.

Ariom, Maybe it's time for Colin 2 to pester the nurses. We had a friend in hospital with a broken leg. He had someone bring him Kool Aid (powdered drink for kids) and poured it in his urinal while they weren't watching. When they came to empty it it was bright green. Come to think of it, Kool Aid is probably why we got breast cancer. Anything with those colors must be dangerous.

Glennie, It's like testifying without the judge and victim. Just be sure you say what you know. If you don't know or can't remember, say that. It might help to write out what happened in advance for your own use. I would know what happened, but not what day or time, so I would need to refresh my memory on that part. If you're giving it to the other side, be very cautious that they don't trick you into saying something you don't want to. I was testifying in a trial and they kept asking me about a sign. I kept repeating that I had not noticed a sign. I went by later, and there was one, but I really couldn't remember it.

Wren, I am so surprised at Colin 2 and how this has affected him, he is genuinely afraid of the nurses. I have never seen him like this. He has always been an acerbic thespian, who could hold his own in any situation, but this has just knocked the stuffing out of him. I know the drugs are having an adverse effect on him and I am sure much of the paranoia, is drug induced. I suggested he give the nurses who are bothering him a good old serve of his acid tongue and he declined, saying "I wont upset anyone, who has the ability to cause me more pain!" I hope the old Colin No 2 returns soon, I am not used to this one.

Glennie, good on you, walking to Canada! I might start something similar! I just ate a few cherry tomatoes and thought about you doing the same!

Try not to stress out too much about having to give the Deposition. I know this will sound downright silly, coming from the unreligious one of the group, but I simply, always ask my Angels to be with me, I have no idea why, but I have always believed in them, without question, even though, I have never had any religious affiliation. I have a million stories about what I believe are Angel interventions! I also have just about every book on the subject too! LOL Since I never had any, I have always said, if I had to have a religion, it would be a total lifestyle, not a religion per se, either Buddhist, or a Jewish!

oooh Zillls Falcor the Luck Dragon and Atreyu, oh how Bec adored that movie, I can't remember how many times she dragged me or my Dad o the movies to see it and when it came out on video it was the neverending video for me. I think I could recite the entire movie.

Oh dear, those leggings are a sight! I often wonder about those bad clothing decisions. Do they stand in front of the mirror before going out, take a good look and give themselves the "Hmm, that looks good smile"?

Ariom, I too love to read books about angels.. right now I am reading "Angels the Mysterious Messengers" about 9 or 10 different opinions and experiences from authors. I truely believe they are all around us, but not with wings, halos etc. We once had a big dog just appear in our yard, we called everyone around, put notices in newspapers (even in Canada) no one had ever seen or heard of him, he was old but very gentle so of course dh fed him and he was our buddy for several months and then one day we just found him dead, I often wondered if he was sent in a different form to see how we would treat him, being old and not very attractive to begin with, but of course we loved him and took care of him until he was gone... we only called him Dog! I know that someone could have just dropped him off in the countryside and he made his way to our house but that doesnt happen around here much.. who know?

Bobo, yes the fireplace heats... takes the chill off nights like this. no melting tv!! infrared heater enclosed. Thinking of you this weekend with brother and MD... what a load... think you must be a saint to put up with all you do.

Zills, love the pics! those leggings are unreal!! gross, who would want to look like that?? well I guess a few do. Sgc I need a cleaning fairy too. Good to hear from you.

ND, I know what you mean. An extremely matted, emaciated dog managed to crawl in someone's yard and get noticed.....by an animal control officer. She took him down to the shelter and began cutting off mats. He began licking her hand while she cut. What are the chances that was an accident?

I saw a young woman in even fancier nude leggings at the mall today. Her tunic top was about an inch too short to hid her creases. She looked like she was on her way to a high class store to be a sales person. Hope they will take her aside before she ruins their reputation.

S:  I love that cartoon and I can so relate to that.

OMG!!  Those leggings!!  Are you kidding me??  Those are horrible!!

M:  YES, walk to Canada with me.  Worried about Colin2. I hope they address his meds and try to figure out what is causing the paranoia.  Is he well hydrated?  Does he have a UTI?  *other potential causes of confusion*

Trying not to be stressed. It is weeks away and I can't be stressed out for that whole time. Plus I have mammo and various other medical appt's to deal with before that happens.  Trying to stay busy and keep mind occupied. Friend coming over later to watch recorded Graham Norton shows.  That will get me laughing.

All I've done this afternoon is eat junk and do laundry. Every stitch BG has. I thought she didn't have enough shirts. Found a tub full that I had forgotten about. Going thru it all - home, school, diaper bag, donations. Boy's school is doing Christmas shoe box again this year.

Got my flu shot yesterday in left, non bc side. Right side hurts- arm (LE), hip and foot (bruised one). BG out of sorts too. Gave us both Tylenol and put in a DVD.

Wish I felt better. DH arriving tomorrow. Wanted to clean yard and pitch pumpkins and dead vines. Nope. Even turned down monkey joes, a kid play place.

Glennie. With all your appts you hopefully won't have too much time to worry.

Nd. Fireplace beautiful. I'm jealous. Need to add ice fishing and walk to canada to my bucket list. When is the best time?

Poor Colin 2. Suggest UTI too. My gma also got paranoid when she had an infection.

    Spookie. Go Big Blue!

    Hope Bobo is hanging on.

Right on Scg. I wish I could stay on top of it. They are getting better about their stuff but it still seems to take forever. Need to put on a pedometer and see how many steps to just put stuff away.

Sasafire is itchy. Gave her some flea meds. It was just her face, now her backside. Maybe picked them up at petsmart?

They told me about her face and she's on Zyrtec. Not sure if I can up it. There's some commercial for dynobites. Have you heard of them?

Zills, in your pocket for the 17th, of course you are nervous, I believe we all are now, I too had no symptoms before dx and it is a long wait isnt it? I am believing it is the best news for you.. just gotta be!!

Today we packed Christmas shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, shoeboxes for kids all over that have absolutley nothing, such a great feeling to do this, we packed 64 boxes just from our small area.

Leaving Tuesday morning and guess what is predicted for the Minneapolis area???? yep, a snowstorm! not for us tho, maybe will have to detour a little bit. Lovely day here, chilly but sunny.

Zills, will be in your pocket too! No worries!!!!

I have always found the tablets for fleas and the worming tablets that cover everything including tics, are the best way to treat dogs, at least over here over here it is, don't know of your circumstances, with fleas etc. Once a month for one and once every three months for the other. I just have the dates up on a blackboard, so I don't forget. Easy peasy and no messy stuff, just hide in a piece of cheese. So many dogs here are actually allergic to flea bites.

ndgirl, what a great thing to do! Can't believe you are going to be having snowstorms and we are sweltering over here.

I have the Beauty Day for the young BC ladies in the next big town today. I had lunch with our BC Nurse last week after our Pink ladies meeting and she said, they were really looking forward to it. I will be glad to get rid of more of this makeup. I am going to offer the rest, to Look Good Feel Better, I am sure they will be happy to receive it. The massive cartons have been in the way here, for months. I have enjoyed giving it away, but I am over it now! lol

    Have a great evening everyone...back later... M x

    Z. My Aussie had spring allergies, he got 100 mg Benadryl. He was abot 55-60#. Didn't make him groggy. Around here we use TriFexis , fleas are immune to frontline.

    In your pocket!
