Kitty: Meow. I'm sorry, Mom. I'll bring you a dead mouse to make up for it.

I dreamed last night that we were fostering a little orange tabby kitten. He was so cute, but sharp claws! We still had the adults, too. The kitten had an adopter but we still had him.

Oh-oh! I know what you're getting for Christmas!

I'm laughing at the purse talk I Just got this one and I love it.. Kohls... regularly $99.99, it was a black friday sale with coupons (shaddap Bobogirl), I paid $26.00.

M, these are the nails I got.. (buy 1 get 1 free at CVS.. so about $3.50 a package).
http://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Everlasting-French-Nail...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418957209&sr=8-3&keywords=kiss+nails+petite
Reading the reviews and from my experience this week, the glue that comes with them isn't so great.. so buy some better quality glue.
I've had tons of compliments and a couple of co-workers who do gel now are going to try them, they love them so much.

ldesim, I bought a couple of sets today, when I was in town. In the US they are called "Impress Peel & Stick," Here they are Broadway Peel & Stick. no glue, just peel the tab and stick. They are supposed to last a week, but expensive here at $15.00 a set. If I like them, just like everything else, I will buy from Ebay or US pharmacy. I got solid color and one fun set like fine lace. I didn't see the brand you gave the link for.
Love, love, that bag! What a bargain!
Wren, I wonder if that is a premonition!

OMG. What has this thread suddenly become? Birdie and I are psychic. I am psychic about Idesim's coupons. She is psychic about her new baby kitty
Purse talk True Confession: For the past ?? years I have been carrying a diaper bag. Not one that has every contained actual diapers. I replace them occasionally. My latest one was a (I can barely say it) Vera Bradley diaper bag. This is so not my style, but at least has no leather, and I got used to having a large diaper bag as a bag.
At back-to-school time I bought two vegan purses from h & m. I think one was $10 and one was $15, on sale. I am carrying the black one.

Glennie, do you know if can have something with St Johns Wort in it while on Tamoxifen?
0 -
Andrea! I am glad you posted in the Christmas madness. How far are you from Finksburg? X

Idesim, LOVE that bag. Kohl's has incredible deals.
bobogirl, I chuckle at the diaper bag - have seen some cute ones. Will check out VB one (for another chuckle?) when shopping. Wish that there was H&M nearby.
Ariom, you seem to be a fashion accessories expert - have you any experience with wigs? I am steadily losing my hair on trial drug. It's very patchy, getting difficult to cover bald spots. Thinking that I will cut short and try wig. Any thoughts on short/long fake/real ... Really, I would love to hear from anyone on this thread.
Purchased Trulife 611 for myself as a Christmas gift (unwrapped early) - thanks to all for that advice, super comfy. I am looking for a swim foob - infrequent use, maybe good for exercise as well? Anyone have a favorite?

I hope these are not premonitions. Last night I dreamed someone was looking for a special cut of salmon and it was sold out everywhere. I recommended they try the semi-fancy market near me. I think these are all triggered by my caller on Monday who wants a kitten for her daughter for Christmas. Kittens are in very short supply this time of the year and her daughter wants a gray one. I've spent a lot of time trying to find her what she wants. I just saw we've posted 5 more kitties, but none are gray.

Idesim can tell you about wigs. There's instructions on how to make a swim insert from a bath pouffy on here somewhere.
I love the bag but it's way too big. I carry a wallet, phone, keys and Chapstick. My diaper bag is a vb backpack and stays in the car.
Good luck with the kittens. Farm had 8 puppies this week.

Puppies! Hi Z!
Wren, am surprised you are entertaining caller's specific request for a gray kitty as that seems shallow. We never picked the color of our animals -- or our animals, in fact. Each of them was found outside, really. We just went with the color they came in.
Breaking news on other thread!

Bobo, I loved this woman's comment. She said wanting a certain color was shallow, but hey, her daughter is a child and entitled to be shallow. We've only looked for a particular color once. We had the name Marmalade and wanted an orange cat to have it. Someone I worked with said an orange kitten had followed her sisters cats in the window while her sister was away. So that's how we got Marmalade. Over the years we've had just about every color and lots of black ones. Have I recommended breakingcatnews.com here? It's a cartoon blog by a woman who used to live here.

That is a good point. I love the story of Marmalade. When we got bobo, I had always wished I had a standard poodle (rescue) named Robert. That name had just popped in my head for my standard poodle! But once the looking process began, the real bobo came quickly, and he was not a standard poodle, and the kids named him, and his name was not Robert

Andrea: No St John's Wort while on tamoxifen. Not a good thing.**waving to all**

daisy: skip the overpriced and weepy cancer wig store. Do you have an "ethnic" wig store near you? They are the best wigs, best selectionand the best prices. The human hair and synthetic blend is my favorite. It is lighter and manageable. The lace front ones look very natural. My step dad flipped out because he has seen me with no hair and two weeks later met me somewhere and was trying to figure out how my hair grew back so fast. Long ones look nice but tend to get matted at the nape of your neck. You can find nice layered styles to avoid that. Also you can heat style the blend wigs up to a certain temp. Hope this helps.

Hahaha Bobo, I had a thing about getting 2 Italian Greyhounds after our Gizmo passed away. I wanted to call them Dexter and Lila after my fave show at the time, stupid and shallow I know, but Gizmo was 17 so we had had that type and breed for a looooong time. I found a woman who wanted to rehome two of her Iggy's so I asked if we could trial them at our house for the weekend. Sometimes it is difficult to have some breeds with the wheelchair, it is easy to knock Colin over. I needn't have worried about these 2 guys they didn't do anything, I mean anything, and when after nearly 3 days of trying to teach them how to use a doggie door, food on the outside, food on the inside, with no success whatsoever, they would stand at the open door to the garden and look me in the eye while peeing on the rug, so we decided to let them go home. I went to the pound and found Dexter, the rest is history!
Hi daisylover! Great to see you! So glad you like the 611 form, ahhh, boobies for Christmas, who'd have ever thought we'd be doing that? LOL It's my favorite, even though I do still wear silicone and sometimes go half flat!
I am not an expert on wigs at all, I am sure Zills will be more help to you. I did wear every kind of wig and hairpiece imaginable, in the 70's when it was fashionable to do so, but they were just for fun and a change of hair color. I had long, to my waist, and short elf like ones. I think it is really just a matter of what feels right for you. I was an extrovert, surprise!, so I wore every color and cut. The girls in my BC group, who wear wigs, and they look fantastic, usually go for close to what they had before the chemo, only one has ventured to several different colors, but they all look great on her. I guess, if it were me, I'd go to a fitter, who is expert for fitting wigs and try on a range and go from there. I must say, I did prefer real hair, back in the day, but I believe the new fibers are fantastic and can be styled with straighteners and hot air. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Swimforms, on the other hand, I have 2 that I really like. OK, Ok, I hear the collective sigh from the girls, why on earth would she have 2 different swim forms? Because I can! I got the Amoena on Ebay for next to nothing, in fact I bought a pair of them and gave theother to a women in my BC group! I digress, I bought the Amoena clear silicone which is excellent. It has ridges on the back so that it doesn't make slurping sounds as you swim. I also have a Trulife Aquaflow which is made from different types of micro beads It is really good and dries quickly. It's a lot lighter in weight to the Amoena one. I tried the bath poofy one that Zills suggests, but it was just too light weight for me, because I am a Uni, so my natural side would pull down and the light as air side would ride up, making me look a bit like quasimodo! There are also the micro bead forms that Mary from mastectomysolutions.org makes for a nominal fee, or she has very specific instructions on making your own, right down to how many scoops of beads to add for different sizes. If you want for exercise too, I would probably go for the bead type, I think the silicone would be too hot.
Kohls annoys me, they have good stuff, but they are one of the very few stores, that won't accept an Aussie credit card. Big mistake Kohls, I would buy a lot! You know I would! I have tried many times, I fill up a basket, usually with Simply Vera Wang stuff, I love those tops and T shirts that we can't get here head over to pay and they reject me. Tsk Tsk

Thank you Glennie. My DD wanted to know about the St Johns Wort.

Ahh, there you go, DP has the spin on wigs! "Overpriced and weepy cancer store!" Bahaha, I love you DP!
0 -
Andrea! I sure hope you feel better! I agree with DP. Let the naughty rotten germ-covered kids do the packing! And, are you near Finksburg? I have asked you two times!
Daisy, our DP gives totes good advice. Hmmm, where do you live? Was also going to suggest the Orthodox Jewish women wig shop. There are the BEST wigs there. And then you can take it to your own hairstylist. That's if you don't want to be punk or have a pink wig or be a fairy godmother, but you want something really high-quality and authentic.
M, such good stories about Vi! That 'Coke and chips' story made my heart hurt. I love to hear of Bec and Vi being the Bickersons! What a sweetheart.
Well, as we speak, the bad kitty, Jane Golden, is ruining a ball of yarn I have on the bed. I am trying to finish slippers for our princess. She jumped hard on me last night; I don't know what I'm going to do tonight.
I am just loving my Christmas cards! This has truly been the best year of Christmas cards for me ever. I have them all hung up in the windows, like bunting, and I have all of us together. I just love them.
M, that is so funny about the dogs! We saw ourselves with certain dogs. But Dex and Bobo saw themselves with us!
Oh, I am also clapping my hands with glee at the good news of the cougar-in-law! DP, hope you are on this thread -- I watched Shawnie Sue on qvc today and there were SO many good presents I thought you would be tempted by! I wished we could watch it together on the phone!
Oh! And I asked the cougar (I called to pump her for info -- my brother would give no details, he would just say, ask [the cougar]) -- I asked 'Where is the wedding?' and she was cagey, and I let her prattle, then asked again, and eventually discovered I believe they are planning a destination-type wedding on a beach in another state she would not name! With just immediate people! Perfect! I told her I thought that was great. She should have whatever she wants. What that means is... MD won't be invited! Ooooh! Christmas is coming early this year!
I myself not sad to be not invited if I am not, because I know my biological father would be invited and I have successfully avoided him all this time as I have said before, I don't want my children near him, but I am a little sad to not be able to watch MD's face as he gets married to this... Jewish! Cougar! from New Jersey! Who weighs 87 pounds and has Crohn's disease and is allergic to everything and only eats four foods! And speaks with a thick New Jersey accent!!
DLLP adores her already. The cougar is running for Pres right now as I have said, putting out a lot of good PR, but soon that will abate, I believe, and she will settle in to who DLLP and I both know she is (see above). She sounds exactly like someone on The Sopranos. That's DLLP's stomping grounds. She is peeing.
Right now it's boring.
Me (to cougar): Could I have the boys for New Year's?
Cougar (as if giving a press release): [your brother] and I are both family people, and we believe in family closeness during holidays. And also your brother believes his kids and your kids should see each other more, and spend time together, because they love each other, they really do. But we believe we should be with family during holidays.
Me: That's really nice. So, can I have them?
Cougar: Well, if you wouldn't mind if we came to the party too, just to wish them happy new year, since we won't be with them.
Me (confused at this PR): But you are going to drop them off? And then drive across town for a private evening? And then interrupt private eve to drive back across town and be with the boys? Even though it's a dangerous time to be driving? And even though you live with them?
Cougar: Well, we believe it's important to be with (blah blah see above).
Me: Okay, look. Of course you can. It's just a kid party. DLLP is going to make pizza and cupcakes and we are going to have karaoke. But there will be nothing fancy --
[Cougar interrupts with a positive press statement regarding the fact that she is not fancy, her family is not fancy, and she has always had homey parties]
Me: Look. If I were you I'd take advantage of the offer of an evening to yourself and a sleepover. When you move in with your two boys (eleven and seventeen!!!) you'll have FOUR BOYS in the house at all times. You were just engaged. I want the boys. I could easily convince you to give them to me via subterfuge. I am very convincing. But instead I am just asking you directly.
**I will now end this little dialogue with the breaking news that I have the boys for New Year's. **

Woo Hoo, you are so persistant, Bobo and you get the job done! I love you! Having the cousins will be great, what a fun New Years it will be at the tiny house! I think I like the cougar! Speaking of cards, I got mine from Dawn and Spookiesmom, thank you!

Bobo: I love the Cougar too! I think you should hire photographer for wedding JUST to take pics of MD, so that you will get "that look" on her face! Excited about this new family member and happy that you get the boys for New Years.0 -
G, I think MD will not be invited!!!!
Oh, happy day!

***snickers gleefully** We all need a picture of that face!

DP, Ariom, and Bobo, I want to thank you for your advice. I will start my wig search after Christmas. I have black hair with some lovely grey highlights that I have not seen in any wigs... haven't found my style in a wig yet.
DP, I sadly do not know where "overpriced and weepy cancer wig store" is... but definitely will skip - I will look for a Jewish wig shop - very helpful advice. My sister married a reformed Jewish man, yet I had NO CLUE about the Orthodox need for wigs...
Ariom, the Trulife Aquaflow looks perfect - and discounted at Metromedical. (You - an extrovert??? NEVER would have guessed
I am so mesmerized by Bobo's dialogue with the Cougar - I have not been reading this thread long enough to truly appreciate. Bobo, I feel like you must write novels. Very engaging. Pizza, cupcakes and karaoke sounds like an awesome evening...
Idesim, your bag looked small like mine - I guess it's not?... it's amazing how much less I need to carry now versus before surgery...
All, your wisdom and care for one another is much appreciated.

Hey Daisy, some very good advice from the ladies on wigs.. In fact I wish I had gotten advice from DP when I was in need of a wig! I was so freaked out over losing my hair that after my first chemo session I went to a shop that is adjacent to the oncology suite in the hospital. The shop was opened and run by a cancer survivor and she was so lovely to me. It's a tiny little shop and she told me to just grab whatever catches my fancy and we tried on wigs for about 45 mins or so. Funny enough, I ended up w ith the first wig that Joe and I had chosen, which was very similar to my real hair in style and color. It was a higher end natural fiber wig that had really pretty blonde chunk highlights in it and it could be parted however you liked because it had a "scalp" built in. It was the Amore designer series and I got so many compliments with it, most people didn't realize it was a wig. I was torn between that one and a real hair wig, but the woman told me that the real hair wigs get really hot, so I went with the synthetic. My insurance paid for I think 80% of the wig and I even bought a second one some time later, but never used it. I wore that wig for a year and it held up admirably. I donated the 2nd wig to the shop.
Here's the wig... Amore has some nice natural colors in many styles.. this one is Tatum. The picture doesn't do justice to the highlights. Oh, they can be trimmed to.

Wow! That's a wig? I hated everything about mine, color, style you name it. It was so stinking hot and itchey I hardly wore it. But it was during the worst of summer here too. I had a baseball cap to keep from getting sunburned, didn't wear anything the rest of the tim

That gives me an idea. I'm tired of the pixie I've been wearing for I've forgotten how long. I haven't liked how my hairdresser has been cutting it either, so I decided to just let it grow until I decide. So now I have growing out short hair which pretty much looks like a woman who desperately needs a haircut. I'm going to look at wig pictures to get ideas. I've looked on hairstyle sites but everyone is 20 and thin. No wrinkles or anything, so hard to compare. Wish me luck.
JSJ, In the pocket!
