Hi everyone, just droppped in before I go to bed to say I had a message from our Bobo, and she isn't well.
She is sending us all a "Virtual Kiss" because she has a high temperature.
I hope she's feeling much better today......night all!

Oh no, sorry to hear that our Bobo isnt feeling well, maybe too much with the move? or who knows, hoping she gets better very soon.. miss her on these boards! Hugs Bobo!
Ariom, how was it to remove the contact foob? I am so anxious to try it but will wait for sure, my 4 month checkup is Aug. 21st. already have a list of ??? and I have an appt to see another foob fitter at Mayo too, hope that works out better! I am going to order the microbead ones from Mary as well. What size did you order? I think we have the same 38D, Still waiting for my bracelets to arrive!! should be today or tomorrow.
GrammaB.. wow good for you to help build homes.. that is just amazing isnt it? you should be very proud and it is so rewarding to help others. How are you doing these days, I would tell you not to worry but it seems that is just a human emotion and we will do it no matter what, but just not too much or too long. you will be fine. Just yesterday heard of a gal that is in her 40's in a nearby town that found out she has it and she is just scared beyond anything, I sent her a message to find this site, so much good info on here.
Take care everyone! thinking of everyone, everyday.

Arghh #1. My drama queen sister who, Hasn't seen me since before surgery but moved home because of me, Blew off the baptism lunch of both children (showed up to talk to my sister and left) DH still po'd over and Was supposed to come over yesterday and didn't, just called. She's getting married tonight at 7 and wants me to come.
Other sister just called. Supposed to be there at 5:30 so definitely not going. Not up to being away from home that long or that far away.
Arghh #2. Called the pt. have to have a referral from dr. Had to call back to office and ask for one. I've called everyday for 2 weeks:( about something. They don't like me. I don't think I'm high maintenance.
Need to go tend to my stomach. The acid is starting. Too much drama.
Hope you have a great day. It's beautiful weather outside! We have baby turtles in the pond and two sets of kittens in the barn. One brand new and one lean teenagers.0 -
PS. Bobo. Hope you are feeling better. Take good care of yourself!

Bobo, Take care and get to a doctor. DH just had a UTI that gave him a high fever. All better now. (((((HUGS)))))

Zills, Sympathy for having a drama queen in the family. I wouldn't go to the wedding either - or give her a gift. Tell her your gift is not wringing her neck. Go watch the kitties a bit. They will relax you.

Ariom, This question is for you. I've been reading online about what to pack for Australia. Most of the people recommend bringing a jumper. What is a jumper? Here, we use the word for a sleeveless scooped neck dress that is worn with a sweater, blouse or T shirt underneath. I'm thinking it might mean a cardigan or pullover sweater?
I loved what they said about Melbourne weather. I grew up in Oklahoma where they say if you don't like the weather, wait an hour. Sounds pretty similar.

Oh dear, so sorry you're not feeling well bobo. Sending healing thoughts your way for a speedy recovery!
ndgirl, yes it was an amazing experience. Very hard physical labor though, and I'm not so sure it didn't hasten the blown disc in my neck that I had to have fused later in that same year. But still.....
I'm hanging in there as well as can be expected. I think part of what really brought it home was turning the calendar page over from July to Aug and there is the date staring me in the face everyday. Oddly the photo for the month is a darling white fluffy kitten snuggled in a pink hat box surrounded with pink yarn!! All pink!! (I checked October quickly and it is all orange and pumpkins.)
Zills, re Arghh#1 Really, Really?? Unbelievable! You are so right not to go to the wedding. And personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to do anything for her in the future.
re Arghh#2 You have every right to call your dr as often as you need help, everyday or twice a day if needed. How rude of the staff to treat you with anything but kindness and concern!! After all, you are paying their salaries too when you pay the dr!! grrrrr makes me mad to hear that!
You don't need drama in your life now from any direction family or medical providers. Hope you can get your tummy settled and have a relaxing rest of the day. Yes, I agree with Wren, go watch the kitties, that should be wonderfully relaxing!
Wren we say that about the weather here in Montana too. If you don't like it wait an hour and it will change!
Have a good one all!!
Hugs!

Wow, I'm not as behind as I thought I would be... at least something is going right today. Still slammed at work and looks like it will be that way through next week.
Wren, you're correct, it is a sweater. I'd be interested to learn why it's called that though. I think of a jumper as being dress for a little girl to wear over a blouse.
Poor Bobogirl.. sending healing hugs. At least this forces her to relax, although I doubt she is.
GrammaB, may as well wear the Jacki to the hospital, why take extra stuff? How long are you in the hospital for? I'm thinking 24 hours.
I can't EVEN imagine snow in June! That's insane lol! I remember once we got snow the first week of April and that was traumatizing. I'm not sure I agree with you on snow over 90 degrees.. I think I would take the 90 degrees and I love the snow the first couple of times anyways.
What an amazing experience with Habitat, but the armed guards would have been so scary to me... what a wonderful thing to have done.
I've shined flashlights on the skunk before and it bothers him not a bit, we only appear to have the one and he never bothers the trash. The worst he does is make little holes in the lawn, so we let him be.
I never even realized that airplanes weren't wheelchair accessible. I know the subway and buses here are.. although I can see how it could be unsafe in a lot of ways.
Moira, I would never complain over my floors getting washed, even if it was only 4 times a year.. I hate mopping floors and of course wait until the last minute and it is even more of chore than it would be if I would just go over it weekly.
So how any #1 hits did Bec predict? I love that story!
Strange that you get jittery from coffee more than tea.. I had always thought that tea had more caffeine in it. I am such a heavy coffee drinker that I'd probably get jittery from NOT drinking coffee lol.
With all your travelling, which was your favorite place?
I so want to travel more, but Joe isn't really keen on travelling which makes it difficult. He'd have no problem with me going, but I'd feel guilty. I really want to go on a cruise, but he has already stated that he has no desire to go.. so I can either drag him and risk the chance that he is miserable the entire trip, or leave him home and go with a GF.
What is the next round of appts? We have Ndgirl on the 21st, but I'm sure Granwe and Zills have appts coming up too.
posting.

Morning all! Pouring rain here this morn!
ndgirl, it was easy to get off. I was a little concerned after having it on for so long, but it wasn't a drama at all. When I bought it, the fitter told me that if it ever seemed to stick too much and I was having trouble getting it off, I should stand under the shower and let the water flow over it. That would remove it.
I have to buy more of the skin prep stuff. It is a kind of "High Maintenance" thing, and I think for that reason I wouldn't wear it attached all the time, but I love the concept, and it does feel very natural.
Zills, crap and nonsense, F that! That goes to the sister, and to the medical office staff. How dare they? While our Bobo is out of action, just let me at them! What on earth are they thinking? If you call the Dr's office, they need to give the service they are paid to give...you, high maintenance?.....I don't think so!
I wouldn't be going to the wedding either!
Take care of that tummy, and don't let any of them stress you out. I'm for watching kittens and baby turtles...F the drama!
(((((HUGS)))) M x

As Bobogirl would say, I reply to myself.
Zills, how is the boy and his angry bird pjs.. sounds like he hops in your bed every night. Africa, now there is somewhere I don't think I have any desire to visit. Who'd have thought a raisin box could provide such entertainment?
Now what the heck with the drama queen? She moved home to be near you, yet hasn't visited and is getting married tonight and did you just find out about it? I'm so confused!!
You are not high maintenance.. trust me.. it's a pain in the @ss dealing with dr's offices and referrals can be an absolute nightmare... I've had my share of dealing with that sh1t. Its not bad enough to be going through being diagnosed in the first place, but having to make the million phone calls just to get care is so stressful.
I agree with Wren.. F the wedding and go watch the kitties... it's a known fact that animals are calming How many kitties are there and what are you going to do with them lol.

Hi Wren! I am careful to try to use the American words for things on here. A jumper is simply a sweater. It can be any type, light, heavy, cotton, wool, v neck, roll neck, male or female. A cardigan is an edge to edge or button front, short or long, knit. A sleeveless v neck is called a vest here.
There are parts of Australia that are really quite hot, but down south, and especially Melbourne is a four seasons in one day kind of place:)
Are you considering a trip?........M x

Ariom, in the dreaming/early considering phase. DH also wants to go to Greece. I've been but would happily go back. Loved the country, food, people, etc. Since we retired, I only dress for an office one day a week when I volunteer, and it's a very casual place. My nightmare is discovering that we have nothing suitable for travel. Having gone down 1-2 sizes, that may be true. Seattle is known for being totally casual. Dress up is your new jeans and a flannel shirt LOL.

She called at 11:17 and told me she was getting married tonight. No one knew. I did state she was my drama queen sister.
There are 6 teenagers and 7 newborn kittens. They get to live happily ever after here if no one takes them. The farm attracts black cats! It's not our farm. My husband keeps the machinery up (as a side job) and we get the benefit of living in the country.
I saw both the kittens and turtles. 4 of the kittens followed me and I saw two baby turtle heads. They seem to be fascinated with my exercises:)0 -
GrammaB. Surgery the 13th?
Ndgirl. 4 month checkup the 21st
Granwe????
Me. CT scan the 13th, results and round 5 the 15th.0 -
Zills- how DARE your sister add even a tiny morsel of drama or stress to your life? She needs a swift country kick in the ASS! But go watch the kitties! Love them, you just cant help but smile and laugh watching them play and I fully agree they are calming, even when they sleep in my flowers! I dont have kitties around this year, no kids to tame them down when they are little. Love hearing they are following you! I am keeping a calendar book with everyone's appts, surgeries etc. need to keep all in good thoughts.
Idesim, you DH sounds like mine about a cruise but ya know what?? I said that has always been on my bucket list so I went to a travel agent (he came along but almost nodded off with disinterest) I told him I was going with or without him so away we went for a Caribbean Cruise and by the time we got home you would have thought it was all his idea to go We went on a submarine and the sites were amazing, just had a wonderful time! So push him a little, ha ha.
Ariom, thanks for the info on the contact, was wondering about all the prep stuff but it can always be worn with the backing on which is what I do now.

gB, not long now, I know how it must be with the date scored on the calendar, but it will be overwith quick, and we will all be here, or in your new flash pockets. You'll be so fine with it, but I am sure looking forward to you being over on this side, with the Surgery out of the way.
I need to let you know I threw a bit of a spanner in the appointments works. I wasn't due to have my next appointment and mammo till January, but my friend who works for BreastScreen contacted me and reminded me that I should be having my next mammo in September because that was when I had the original that discovered my little nasty! I have made the appointment for that to be done at the same place where I was Dx about 2.5 hours away from here, on the 30th of August. Colin suggests a lunch and shopping day, so be it!
ldesim, I agree that the Contact can be a pain in the ass, but for the times I want to wear it, I love it! You know me, I just love to have options, options in everything! LOL
Oh gosh, I have trouble deciding on a fave place. I adore Italy, but I love The Mariana Islands, Vietnam needs more discovering. There are places here in Australia that are mind blowing, like the Barrier Reef. America, I have loved all my trips there, and most of Asia is on my list to do again some time. I haven't spent any time in most of Europe, and would you believe that even with great travel benefits, and a round the world free first class ticket every year I was employed, I never made it back to Scotland. Eleven years with an International Airline, and I never went "Home". tsk, tsk as my Mother would do!
Cruises are my favourite way to travel, not the supposed great Cunard though, that was the worst ever! but I just love that once you are on board and unpacked, that is it. You have so many options, there you see why I love it so much, options! When Colin and I go on a cruise we do our own thing. I am a sun worshiper, and could spend all day out chatting to people by the pool. Colin loves Trivia games and sitting at the bar chatting to people, or he'll go to what I call "Lectures", they often have people that give talks on all manner of things. We meet for meals, and go to the evening entertainment together, but sometimes we split and I go back to the cabin and watch a movie, and he'll hang out with people he has met. There is just no pressure to do anything, and for me, having the oom done, and the meals oganised makes looking after Colin easy. I am used to having help at home, but when we travel, I am it, 24/7. That is why cruising is such a bonus for me. No cooking, no housework, and no airports, trying to arrange aisle wheelchairs and watching that they don't lose or break his main wheelchair. making sure they don't injure him getting him into a seat. It is very stressful.
Some of those cruises you have from ports in the states are fabulous. I bet you'd find something Joe was interested in, if not do it with a GF. I have had great cruises with GF's and my fave was a couple of years ago now with Bec. It was such a hoot, we shared a cabin and not one fight! LOL I'd go again in a heartbeat! Colin is always happy for me to travel alone too, but I always feel just a bit sad that he can't just up and go as easily as me. He really doesn't mind though.
Sorry you are so busy at work...take it easy if you can...chat later...M x

Bobogirl! I hope you are feeling better today! ((((HUGS)))))

I'd love to live on a farm and I love black cats.. so cute! So they will be barn cats... that's good. I've never seen a baby turtle, but newborn kittens are so cute.
Yeah GrammaB is the 13th and Granwe had a few coming up from the sounds of it. Looks like we're doing a bit of travelling on the 13th!
Yeah you did say drama Queen, but that's a bit over the top... did your other sister go? Do you just have the 2 sisters?
Wren that's on my wishlist.. Greece... everything about it sounds amazing... and I can imagine the people are fantastic.
Moira, I have to laugh, there was one day during my trip that it was raining so ferociously and it was so overcast that we figured we were stuck doing indoor activities. Here, a rainy day is generally an entire day and this was such a heavy rainful. Wouldn't you know it.. after a couple of hours the sun was shiny brightly and shortly after it was like the rain had never even happened.

Ahh Wren, I love the research for a possible holiday! I always travel super light, have to because of Colin's stuff, but I always have a big nylon zip up bag in the suitcase so I can buy up big and bring back stuff. I don't mind the hassle on the way home!
ndgirl, that's what I hear a lot from Women who have husbands that don't want to go on a cruise. Colin wasn't totally convinced either, when I got him on his first one. It was him who bought the big month long Cunard one for me for Christmas. Not his fault that it was a bit of a disaster!
I agree with you , the Contact has "options" LOL Probably why I was so attracted to it. LOL
I just had a "First", sun has been out, dried up all the rain, and I did the Rites outside in the garden! Wow, that was great, Spring is coming!!!!!! Colin watched me do it, and commented on how he's seeing a difference in my "Tone"! He also wanted to hurry me up in case Barry came and I was still in pj pants with penguins on them and a super tight black tank, to keep that, left puppy under control! Poor barry has actually seen more than any postman ever should have, with me!
Anyhooo! I am off to do some chores and get out before the weather changes again...love to all of you....M x

Wren
Around here getting "dressed up" means tucking in your shirt, and maybe wearing socks, if male. 😄0 -
Just caught that post as I was leaving ldesim!
Yes, I know what you mean about the rain. It is happening here now. Great soft breeze and bright sun after rain most of the night, I ate breakfast outside and did the Rites. Now it is blowing a gale, and the dark clouds are rolling in. We learn to do stuff as the weather allows!:)

Ndgirl, I do want to push him, but then if he's miserable on the trip I may just throw him overboard lol. The submarine sounds amazing!!
Barrier Reef is also at the top of my list, I've seen tv shows on it and it just looks spectacular.
Everybody says the same thing about cruises, even not having the added challenge of dealing with wheelchairs and the like, that its the most relaxing vacation ever.. and that's just the perfect thing right now.
I've checked out the ones leaving Boston and nothing that really interests me and getting him on a plane would be another struggle.. when he was in the service he drove to and from the base.. gosh it was so long ago I forget where it was.. I want to say Texas.
Colin does enjoy the lunch and shopping days lol!

I am trying to get out, but every time I pass the computer there is another post!
I am trying to think of anyone I know who hasn't enjoyed a cruise, and I am not remembering anyone. Maybe just do some virtual tours of the ships. There may be something that "floats his boat" so to speak:)
Colin is very sweet, he does enjoy shopping, not so much eating out, he doesn't like the fact that he has limited use of his hands and can make a mess of his food. He tries to make any of these "visits" into something I enjoy. For someone who has been through the medical wringer over the years, and is very hardened to it for himself, but he is very empathetic towards me.
This time....I am going!!LOL

Hi everyone!
Idesim, yes it is just an overnight stay. The BS said it was to insure proper pain management. The sooner I can get out, the more time I'll have with my DD.
I've got my clothes laid out that I will wear to the hospital. If I wear the Jacki, all the extra I'll have to bring is a change of underwear, just made up my mind!! Love packing light!
Sorry you are so busy at work, hope it calms down soon.
Yes, the armed guards were a bit disconcerting but necessary. Kind of took the fun out of going shopping to what passed for a mall there with a soldier trailing along with you!! When we'd go from our hotel to the build site there would be a jeep in front of the bus and another behind.
Really creepy was the first time I visited Hungary with DH. (He was a refugee from there after WWII, still had some family and friends there.) It was still a communist country then and he was just a touch worried whether he'd get out again. Signs all over, "no cameras allowed" and guard towers with people watching everyone. They were doing some bombing practice near where we were with all sorts of planes flying over head. Creepy was that those were not our planes but the "enemy's" flying overhead, and not our bombs!
Zills, are you F'n kidding me, she didn't even give you a day's notice about the wedding? I'd much rather play/watch kittens any day.
Yes, surgery is the 13th. You're having scans the same day? I have to be at the hospital at 7AM, don't think I can make it to your appt too.
I've never been on a cruise, it is on my bucket list though!!

GB, I stayed overnite as well, I really wanted some female and nurse help with my shower the next day, it went fine but for some reason I was worried about that more than anything. Crazy I know. I just took clean underwear and cami and wore home the same I wore in. you will only be in your morning clothes for a couple hours if that before surgery. keep it simple, I know you will too. One nice thing I had at Rochester was a massage therapist came in and massaged my neck and back.. that was worh a million! you will do just fine and beside we are all here for you! and we are quite a bunch!! Take care.

Thanks for all your support yesterday! Kittens are much better than drama any day!
GrammaB. You will be in your room before I get called back. It takes forever. Last time there was an opera singer in the lobby.
I have three sisters. DQ is older and twins are younger. One lives here and the other 2 hours away. The one that lives 2 hours away didn't make it in for the wedding. I'm not even sure if my dad went. It's her 4th one.
Have already walked. Need to wash bed clothes. Want to make some cakes to say thank you to school, pharmacy, my PCP and health dept. They have made accommodations for my condition and not stressed me out. It will just be box mixes. Trying to get stuff done before next week.
I'd really like to nap. It's overcast this morning. Rain for tomorrow. I did eat a piece of pizza last night. Shh. Don't tell my stomach. I followed it up with gum chewing and then some sleepy time tea and Ativan. Slept all night. Had part of a banana this morning. If it doesn't hurt too bad and sounds good, then I will try it. Tired of eating bland and boring!
Have a good day/night. Bobo hope the fever is gone but you are probably wiped out. Watch movies in bed all day!
Granwe. Where are you? Hamster wheel driving again?0 -
Hi Zills!
So glad you avoided the stress, and got a good nights sleep!
Oh wow someone who's been married more than me!!!!
Have a nap if you can manage it, especially if your going to do all that baking:)
I made Pizza tonight, it is Colin's new fave. I like it too, but my half is completely different to his. I have started back on a different ProBiotic and my reflux is almost non existent again.
Goodnight all...catch you in the morning.....M x

What's the probiotic?
Originally pizza didn't come with cheese. That came about for Queen Margarite's birthday and someone made pizza the color of the Italian flag.
Do you use a prebaked shell or make your own from scratch?
Looks like everyone went to the wedding last night except me and my sister that lives out of town. I have mixed feelings about it. Silly me.0
