O.M.G. Idesim I just read your post. I did not know you even had a mammo! That story is horrible. Horrible. Hate being taken back for more films. So what will they do now? Just go with the idea of the fibroid? Biopsy? So feeling terrible about your stressful appt! And that girl.... I am mad I was not in the bag for that. I would definitely have punched her. How was your echo? I am on a need-to-know basis with all of this. You must have been scared silly. I'm furious.

So much catching up to do, so much I want to say. How I wish the mods would figure out the problems with the upgrade. Oh well, here we go with multiple posts.
Bobo I shall begin, again with you. I see no reason to be anxious about this stupid evaluation. Go in, be yourself, you know that you are sane and that you are being reasonable with your treatment plan. They will see that too. It is, if I read correctly, a teaching hospital, the students are there to learn. Would it be appropriate to request that they issue you an ID number and use that instead of your actual name, and personal information? Ask them questions if you are concerned about your privacy. If they don't give you the answers that reassure you, then tell them you will not be part of their teaching curriculum. You have rights, too, be assertive. Like I need to say that to you. Best of luck and like I said I'm in your bag. Give it a gentle kick and I shall rear my ugly head, that'll show them. HUGS

Morning Zills, Bum wiping, a wonderful way to start the day. Now who the hell you cry? Life expectancy my ass. They have no idea what they are saying, they are not the ones in charge. We do not come with an expiration date and it is so wrong that they attempt to give us one. They give us statistics that's all they have. What they should be doing is giving us a cure to this stupid disease. End of that rant. Other than having dirty bums, how are those precious babies? Are you as cold as I am this morning? Winter has hit the sunny south. I even broke down and turned the heat, only because there is frost on the pumpkins this morning.

Idesim, you have health professionals picking on you too. Good grief! As if the stress of a mammogram wasn't enough then you have to endure extra films, and the attitude of a twit. Its fine when they leave us waiting for hours, but let us be a little late and they act as if we committed a crime. One of my doctors has a "policy" that states if you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment you will not be seen and charged a fee for missing your appointment. So I turned the tables on them, when I was left in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes I marched up to the window, and told them that I was leaving, and that I would be billing them for my time. They don't like it when you turn the tables on them. From that day on I have been taken in quickly and seen quickly
Now what's the game plan for this fibroid? When will you get the results of the echo? Give us dates on upcoming appointments so we can pack a bag. HUGS

Wren, So very sorry you lost your foster kitty. It wasn't the outcome anyone wanted, but I hope you take comfort in knowing that the little one had love and compassion in the end. I'm sure when you are ready to foster again, it will be one that is just the right fit for you. I didn't know that you were an artist. What kind of paintings? Slapping a coat of paint on a wall is all the artistic ability I have.
Posting this now! This crazy laptop has deleted this post 4 times so far.

Gb, Hope your items from the fitter, fit without measuring. Mine measured, measured again and I still ended up with the wrong size. Maybe not being measured is the way to go. How sweet that you donated your late husbands prosthetic leg to someone less fortunate. It would be interesting to know where the leg is now. One of my uncles lost his leg in WWII, through out the years he had many prosthetics, when he was sure that a new one was going to work for him he would donate the previous one, always making sure it would go to a veteran like himself.

Nd Bunco sounds like so much fun. I've heard of it but never had the chance to play 12 screaming women shaking anything has to be fun. I have to know is alcohol involved? lol. I see that you have had some issues with the site upgrade too. Seems a lot of people have lost icons, smiley faces, the ability to post pictures, and like me the ability to post from an android device. They keep saying they are working on the issues but so far I haven't got any results. I gained a task bar on the kindle, but lost the ability to post. I have no task bar on the laptop, and it will not post in paragraphs no matter how hard I try. Hence the many post and why it looks like I ramble from one subject to another.

M, so glad you are back. I know it wasn't a pleasure trip but I am so glad you were able to spend some time with friends and family. Sorry you missed out on a good op shop shopping experience. How did Dex do without mom and dad? The fires down under aren't close to you, I hope. You know how I tend to fret.

Guess I owe you an explanation for my absence. Some idiot, ME, decided that storing fall and Halloween decorations underneath the house in totes was a great idea. NOT. Evidently some sort of mold took up residence in the totes and then into my respiratory system. I became ill after fall decorating, but did not relate the illness to the decorations, until I decided to do Halloween decorating and ended up having to be carried out of the house and into the doctor. Whatever I inhaled has caused infection in my lungs, and sinuses. They are treating me with mega does of antibiotics, inhaled steroids, decongestants, and pain meds, because when you cough gets out of control it tends to hurt scars that unknown to me had not finished healing. Evidently something must be working, I am coherent today, and not coughing with every breath I take, just every other one. : ) The OG went back to work today, so I guess he thinks I must be getting better too. One a good note the decorations look good. LOL. Hugs to everyone. See you soon

Gramwe, yea, I miss the smiley faces etc, wonder where they went? about Bunco, only at the Christmas party is alcohol involved, we have some appetizers, wine, and sometimes a potluck supper. It is just a silly dice game, 3 tables with 4 women at it, loser, middle and head table, the team that gets to 21 at the head table rings the bell ( when wine was involved one lady rang it so hard she lost the clapper and it went flying) can you imagine the eruption of laughter then! it just a social get together, ages have a wide range, from a new mamma in her 20's to over 70 years old! that is the fun part. We would probably have wine or drinks more often but a couple of gals are very against it, but they are fun gals to be around too and besides that in this rural area most have to drive at least a little distance so we have fun without the booze most times. I also am wondering if Ariom is close to the fires, assuming not because she hasnt mentioned anything. my thoughts are really on bobo this morning..

Gramwe, I'm not an artist, but my retirement goal is to learn to paint watercolors. I'd like to be able to travel and paint what I see. At the rate I'm going, I'll be to old and infirm to travel long before I can paint what I see. A friend of mine took photos of her hydranga leaves with sun shining thru. I'm going to make an abstract painting from it. At least that one will not require me to draw anything accurately.

Oh Wren, I'd love to see that when you are finished. Hydrangeas are one of my favs.. I inherited 3 bushes when I bought my house and one of them is a gorgeous vibrant blue and it smells so nice and lasts so long.

I was hoping for an update from our girl... I sure as hell hope it wasn't 8 hours!

Granwe, how awful! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better... and even happier to know OG is working, so I assume he is doing better as well.

Ndgirl, I love gatherings that have a mixture of ages.

    I'll pop in later.

Oh.. re the fibroid.. they are going to match them against previous films that were unavailable, but a previous report does show the damn thing. And, as of yesterday.. I will be on Herceptin another year at least, which I expected and which I am fine with. Anything to bring down the risk of recurrence is fine w/me.

Re: the fibroid... biopsy is the name of the game. Of my game anyway. They excisional biopsy every single lump I get now. Why another year Herceptin? Agree about bringing down risk of recurrence. Second that, Birdie: I want to see the hydrangea picture. Can't wait for a big orange tabby boy to come your way.

Granwe, horrible! So sorry about your lungs! I do love me some granwe serial messages! I enjoy them so much. You are such a badas$! I want to come to SC and cook a giant dinner with you, then stay up and have a slumber party. How is OG's hand?

Worried about our Ariom because I read about a big fire. Is that stupid? They said suburb of Sydney. AUS is gigantic, so she will probably laugh when she hears I am worried and say, That is 500 km from me! But, worried.

F0ckballs! I almost lost this post! Psych done. Best in show. She said I am the most educated, well-informed, reasoned and well-prepared patient she has seen ever, and she has been doing MX consults pro forma since 2004. Hooray! I win the prize. Two and a half hours, with a grad student sitting there, and another one watching through one-way glass. I win! Competitive.

Who's up with appts? I know I am not the only one. How you feeling, Z? ND, you are so sweet to think of me. I want to play Bunco. Sorry about those wet-blanket non-drinkers, although you seem to be okay with it...you should have a drinking bunco sleepover party!

We all feel the exact same way Idesim. But you are a trooper. Is herceptin every week?

Poor Granwe. Nothing worse than a cough that won't quit. Take care of yourself.

Boy threw up while he was in line, waiting to be picked up. Guess no flu shots tomorrow. Will be a quiet day on the couch. Good for both of us. Hope he doesn't share his germs. He normally doesn't get sick except for the cold/allergies/asthma. This is the second time he's thrown up this year! I'm an expert at throwing up but still don't like it.

Still battling with tiny tablet. I have a problem with my right hand not swiping or typing well. So please forgive the messy posts:-) looks like it will be one long sentence, sorry. Fires are 1000km away in NSW, so not anywhere near us. Thanks for concerns, though. Gram we, I am so sorry to hear of the mould problem. I was checked for that when I had the micoplasma infection on the ship. My specialist told me about mould chest issues, and how the can be bad if not treated. You sound like you had a bad bout of it. ldesim, glad you are OK with the Herceptin, but I can imagine the fright yo got with the fibroid. Big hugs to you and gramwe. Bobo, I so knew you'd ddo great at the damn consult. Good on you, You're on your way now.....Colin is going to reinstate the old modem, so hopefully I will be back later...take care m

Yay for Bobo! we all knew you would ace it! no surprise here but wtf ? still wondering why they do it. as for a bunco sleepover... well we had one a few years ago, but only because a snowstorm came up and we couldn't leave! so we spent most of the nite at the hostess's place, about 3am, a few of us crazy ones thought we could make it home, which is only about 7 miles, well not the smartest idea we had but did make it to one of the gals farmhouse that was along the highway and spent the rest of the night there! This is our world in ND in wintertime! Yes, I am ok with anyone that doesnt partake in the booze.. to each their own, they are both good friends of mine and dont lecture me or anyone and I appreciate that.

Sorry Gramwe, man, you were trying to decorate and come down with that.. yuck, glad the meds are working anyway.

hope your boy is better soon Zills.

oh Wren, I too would love to see your hydrangeas in a painting! I am so not talented!

Well better run, garden vegetable stew and baked apples for us tonight!

Bet Bobo will sleep well tonite.

Oh Zils, hope you don't get sick and hope he feels better soon. You're the trooper dealing with all this and the two kids, I hope you have a nice relaxing day on the sofa!

Bobogirl, excellent report.. glad that nonsense is out of the way, now time to prepare for surgery. Is the tattoo back on the table?

M, I bet you are going mad without your laptop.. what was the decision on the vitamix?

I get the Herceptin every 3 weeks, but the MO told me that there is a big meeting in Nov with new developments and it may be possible to get it monthly via a shot. She also told me there are a lot of new things coming that show promise of being effective for battling diff types of cancer, including pancreatic, which is pretty exciting. The reason for keeping me on Herceptin is she has only had one similar case to mine (where it adhered to the skin and was very aggressive) which was earlier in her career and they did the standard course of one year of Herceptin and this woman had a recurrence and had a difficult time battling it the second time around.... she did not tell me the end result and nor did I ask. That was all I really needed to hear. As long as it isn't doing damage to my heart.. then I have nothing to lose. I will continue having echos every 3 months to make sure. Hell, if she wants to keep me on Herceptin forever that is fine with me!

YAY bobo!!! So glad that part is over for you! I had no doubts you would pass with flying colors. I so agree with Zills, AF is the one that needs the eval! I am doing a happy dance for you!!

Granwe, how terrible, mold borne illnesses can be really hard to pin down as they can manifest differently in people. Glad you found what was making you sick and are on the mend!

I guess there is no guarantee on how things will fit until you actually put them on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I didn't actually try any item that was my actual size....their inventory was very poor. I guess all the bc people that come to them are model thin?? I'm 5"5" and weigh 143# (when I measured my chest I got 35") so not huge, but most the sizes they had to try on were too small and the rest too big. sigh...

ldesim, sorry about the fibroid issue. Like bobo, I think if I had only had a lumpectomy or just MX, I would choose to biopsy any suspicious lumps that might show up in the remaining breast. I'd be too paranoid not too, and that is what fueled my decision to do the BMX. Sorry about the continuation of the Herceptin, but as you say anything to lower the risk of reoccurrence is worth doing.

Zills, I sure hope you don't get what ever it is the boy has!!

    Posting before it disappears...

    Hugs!

You guys will love this... at the end of the nightly news, they showed the white house which is lit up in pink for BC awareness month. Umm.. isn't the month just about over and what was the cost of having this done for one night.. perhaps the money would have been better spent going directly to research?

I saw that!! was going to post it too! and every sports team has pink shoelaces or something on that is pink! tomorrow nite in neighboring town everyone, kids and all are dressing in pink for the volleyball game, have seen many pics on FB. I know they mean well but enough is enough! Is it more pink this year? or is it just that I have bc this year??? Maybe I never paid that much attention before. The pink white house had to be a first tho... and yes how many $$ was spent that could have went for a much better cause.

    rant over.

Hi I am back, for the moment anyway. Colin has reattached the old modem, so I am in business! Sorry for the terrible typing on the tablet. Great little thing, but I haven't been using it for typing, just searching. I will teach myself how to use it properly, just in case!

Now, ldesim, I am waiting to hear back from the woman who is selling the Vitamix. I lost contact when I couldn't remember the password for that forum when my laptop was down. I got a message from her this morning to say she's up to her neck in her daughters 21st arrangements on Saturday, so I told her to forget it till after that's done. I am still very interested, I love a bargain, and I would like to make soup and juices with the fiber still in it. My Oscar is great, but I would like that option. I have romantic ideas about making my own flour in the other jug attachment that comes with the Vitamix, did I tell you I have a bread maker that I have never used? I am doubting that I will use this attachment, but who knows!

I meant to mention that I went to a BC forum some months ago, and they were talking about a lot of new and exciting information on Herceptin and some other Hormonals. I didn't get involved in that discussion because I was only weeks out of surgery and very "green" about it all. I would imagine that's maybe some of what your specialist is talking about.

Zills, I hope you are well and haven't caught what the young one has. I am imagining you on the couch, cuddled up watching movies with snacks! I hope you've had a comfy day!

Did I tell you, "I HATE PINK"!!! I have never really worn the color, but was indifferent till a year ago. I can't believe how much stuff I have been sent since all this started. All of it in lurid HOT PINK, I hate it. I also think that the idea of a whole group of probably highly paid advertising people sitting around brainstorming about what other PINK thing they can send out. Good grief, as if we need to be AWARE, preaching to the converted is what I call it. Give the money to research for goodness sakes. Rant over! oh no, and the exercise class I went to yesterday, guess what they called it? "PINK FIT" (ness) crap!

Wren, I have Hydrangeas in my garden. I wish I could paint, but it isn't an art I have mastered. I can do a pretty good makeup on anyone, and face paint a ghoul or a goddess, but putting it on paper doesn't work for me. I envy you that talent!

Gramwe, have I missed the OG's surgery? He is going back to work, is his hand OK? I haven't heard which fruit we are this month, or is it still a HoneyDew? sorry, I have tried to keep up, but that few days away, and then the computer glitch has got me all out of whack!

Take care, sorry if I have missed anyone...M x

I'm over pink too but still like pink and orange. Made sure I bought purple and teal fleeces yesterday. Was told they are the best for radiation. Soft and warm.

Boy ran a little fever but slept all night. I was afraid he'd spike one in the middle of the night. He's still asleep.

Guess will get caught up on the laundry today. Need to do a big shopping trip. Told DH if he wanted lunch or breakfast, I needed to go out last night. He declined. He's been very tired. Always have kid stuff and cereal to eat:) Just not always hearty, manly stuff.

Hear the baby flipping her light on and off. Guess its time to get crackin.

PS. He woke up asking for pickles!

Saw the pink white house on the news too! Thank god. Everything is all right now. The white house is pink. Ladies, you can stop making up all this bc business, because it has all been officially solved.

Love you ND! Need baked apples recipe. I want to do it this very night. Have a lot of very large organic apples I got on sale...

Ariom, no worries about the typing on the tablet! It was fun for me to read. YES you can make flour in the vitamix! And almond milk! Just imagine! It's like you barely have to buy anything except fresh fruit and veg. When I am in a true Vitamix groove, it is amazing. The juices turn out like the juice smoothies you get at the store, they are thicker. If you want really thin juice you still have to use juicer. But just think. The Vmix juice has the whole fruit in it.

You can even make bread dough in the vitamix! They have recipes. And vanilla custard! And... ice cream! And frozen soy yogurt: 1 c soy yogurt (or coconut), one bag frozen berries. Done. You scoop it out with an ice cream scoop. I also do mango.

Oooh. Can't wait for you to get a Vitamix! You are right ND. Went to sleep at nine o'clock. Am seriously late to get ready for the school run now.
