I'm a ball of stress. LE acting up, BFFs father died, then we threw her a surprise bday party- man- that is so stressful. Then had an interview today for a temp. promotion and have to wait till Monday at least to hear the results. One of my father's good friends passed away yesterday, my local bff was in a wreck, my house looks like a war zone, and I am not ready for it to get any hotter outside. BLAH! When it rains, it pours.

Thanks everyone for the Austin docs recommendations! I'm checking out their bios online. I have an appt w the MO my surgeon recommended Debra Patt w TX Oncology for Thursday. And thanks for all the kind words of support, it's a blessing to have this community however much we'd rather not be joining! I'll b traveling on the 29th so can't make Gruene, hope I can make it next time.

hey ya'll! Ive been wrestling with doctors all day... onco appt was to be thurs morn was told when they scheduled that appointment that I would need another US, mammo, and to have my port placed by my appt Thursday but then they never followed up and scheduled those things so I called twice last week to hear promises to call me back with appointment times but... nothing... so I called 3 more times today and...
US, mammo and onco appt now tomorrow when ill also have the brca test done and whatever other labs and port placement is still up in the air... but progress is progress!
Woke up feeling kind of emotional today on top of all that so its been a roller coaster ride today and I didnt even have to buy a ticket or wait in line!!! Lol ahh well im holding on tight... just have to remember to breathe... and get a glass of wine!!

ChaosRains - sorry you had to fight so hard to get it all together:( we count so much on our team understanding and getting all our ducks in order...hope the roller coaster slows and you can do the easy glide for awhile...breathe, blow some bubbles, giggle, and cheers to you!
Aphena - hope your BC team is coming together...and you feel comfortable with each member. Follow your heart...you will know. Keep us posted on your appts.

God works in mysterious ways, she may think you need some face time with a few TX Hill Country Warriors before the ball really gets rolling. Maybe your stuff is being postponed so you can join us on the 29th?! It is hard enough dealing with the BC roller coaster, but to also have to be your own advocate right now for appointments, etc. Not acceptable!! Want me to head your way and raise hell?

Hello ladies, hope you are having a fantabulous day!
Finally had my onco appt yesterday and another mammo and US. Since the original mammo in April my lump has almost doubled in size
so went from 3.4cm to right at 6cm. I knew it was getting bigger so I wasnt too shocked but the dr was...So now its rush rush to get things started! I have testing scheduled for pet scans, echos, genetic testing, port placement ... the works!!
Now chemo is supposed to start within tbe next week or so which is fine by me!! Once I decided that it was what I had to do Ive just been wanting to get it over already!!
From what I remember from yesterday Im going to have AC every other week total of 7 sessions and then Taxol every week for 14 weeks
The picture I posted with this is from when I cut all my hair off last week... went with a short bob and sometime amidst all these appointments its going to get cut again into a pixie cut... this is the first time ive had short hair since first grade in school!! (I also write letters to cancer regularly lol think I may have to figure out the online blogging thing!)
Well Im off to bug the doctors for appointment times wish me luck!

chaos, I'm glad to hear your are making progress in getting your treatment underway. I hope your tests, scans, etc go well. It does seem like a whirlwind at first, but hopefully, things will settle down for you once you get into treatment. Keep us posted!

Chaos - if there is any way you can make it before you start chemo, we would love to meet you. Some of the group have been through it and can offer great insight. Regardless, we all are in your pocket every step of the way and will be there for you.

I'm a maybe. I really want to meet all of y'all. It just depends on how I'm feeling with these open wounds I've got from rads.
