Katie,
11 years ago, Gemzar is what put my liver in remission after only 9 months. I had it in a Phase 2 clinical trial as it was very new back then.
It is very easy-some hair thinning and a lot of fatigue. But tolerable. I get a Decadron premed for nausea and pain. So I don't have either nausea or pain, but lots of munchies....

Such good news for you Denny and so uplifting for a lot of us with Liver Mets, I need at least 4 more years to get my 14 year old through high school. You will be able to have the best holiday season now!
I was dx 4 weeks ago with Liver Mets after being NED for over 9 years, so am still having lots of crap/anxious days amongst the 'normal' days. I've had 3 weeks of Abraxane, hope it's doing some good. Today is my Friday off, lucky as it's the staff Christmas party @ my College! ! Gemzar seems to have good results for lots of Liver Metsters, maybe my next option if Abraxane does nothing.
Hi Fitztwins, good to see you on the boards still, any news of SherriG?
Happy holidays everyone from sunny Sydney, in the Land Down Under.

That is such encouraging news. This good news has really made my day. It's so great to hear encouraging news. I am also a 12 year survivor of Stage 1V and am so happy to meet others with the same. I haven't had Gemzar yet, so am glad to know it's there for the future. Am currently on Abraxane and it's working without too many problems, but its good to know that Gemzar is there for the future. So happy. Hope everyone is able to enjoy the holidays and feel good. Prayers and blessings for all.

Jessmarie,
I only take vitamins, never supplements since they would negate the effects of the chemo.
Herceptin kept me in remission for 6 years and now Gemzar is getting rid of the cancerous nodes behind my sternum.
I currently am on Herceptin, Faslodex (butt shots) and Gemzar. Will stay on Herceptin for life, and (blah) Faslodex for however long....
Hope to quit the Gemzar soon as long as it continues to do the job.
