Bippy= That is great advise. Next time I will ask the person does it have a happy ending. If they say no, I then ask then to stop. This will not help me in my fight to over come BC. I could not believe how stupid she was especially working in a Cancer Center. I should have asked her about her medical history and then started relating details of Hospice patient's with similar medical background. Thanks again!!

This is my last weeeknd before #5. I am working both days but, don;t mind. I really like my job. My big goal is to go to a restaurant. WOW WEE Eat out. What a unique concept. I cannot remember when I have been in a restaurant. I hope I know how to act and I have something that fits.

When this is all done if the group ever wants to me somewhere I'm in. Whenever and were ever. I know it could be in a year or so but, count me in.

    All my love,

                Eileen

Ha ha ha! I've had that experience too and I have actually interrupted to say, "Does this have a happy ending? Because I don't want to hear it otherwise."

Day 8 post infusion and finally I'm beginning to feel like myself :)  I had another Big D attack last night and tried to drink as much water as I could stomach before bed, slept well and woke up with more energy than I've had in over a week.  I'm hoping, wishing and praying that everyone is feeling relief as well!

Thanks for the laugh Bippy, I love it!

haha, we all need a giggle!  Meanwhile my onco just called. white counts need a little help...they are prescribing Cipro just to make sure I don't get a bladder infection. My temp was a little bit elevated at 99° this morning. Damn! It's always something. My poor poor digestive tract. That's the last thing it needs, antibiotics! Well better that than going to the freaking ER this weekend....

Wizard, so glad you're feeling a bit better today.  Catie, we got it on Nov. 21!!!  I cannot wait till it is over with chemo!

Its been 16 days since my last infusion and I finally can say I feel decent today. I actually got up and did some housework and laundry. Tomorrow I see my doctor for the first time since last tx. Hopefully all is well. My next tx is not till next Friday...schedule got off a bit...so maybe I'll have a good week before then. Hoping all will be better next time since they will give me nuelasta and my wbc won't plummet. Anyway, today is a good day....yay!!!!

had blood work and another neupogen shot today. They had to run blood work twice since they couldn't find any neutrophils, they found 3 the second time! Very low. So no trip to see my daughter and kids. I have another shot tomorrow and probably have to run down to the hospital Saturday and Sunday.

    So sad!

Also said probably won't be able to have chemo monday either. Disappointing day!

So sorry Kellya. That's the one thing I hate the most about this... We have to schedule our lives around it. At least you will feel better soon with the shots. Hope you get to see your babies soon.

Kellya and Bippy, I'm glad they're watching out for you. I'm going back in tomorrow for another CBC, as they might start me on an antibiotic over the weekend if my counts are still dropping.  Fingers crossed.

Amy and Wizard, I'm glad you're both feeling better!  That is great. :)

Eileen, enjoy the restaurant food!  What are you having? A local pizza restaurant is doing a fundraising day for DD's ballet company, so we'll be getting something to go tonight.

Just as I was asking about chemopause, I started spotting again.  Crazy body.  Also having some mild issues with D, which is unusual for me.  I'm 7 days post TC and 3 days post HP, and I'm exhausted.  I feel like I have such minimal energy.  This hasn't hit me so hard before.

Kellya=OH No!!Sorry sorry, I know you are disappointed.

I am 17 days post last chemo and now can taste food. Not going out to eat tonight. Steve my BF is making some huge dinner. He is in heaven.  Just heard a wine bottle pop. He watches me like I am his chia pet. I swear he comes into my room at night and checks on me. At this point no one should sleep in the same room as me. I am up on and off all night. I think he freaked when I got cancer. He just is hiding it well.

I hate that everyone has icky SE. This will be over soon and we can go back to our lives. I feel like my life is so CONSUMED with BC. I forgot what normal is like.

have a good evening everyone and hydrate!!!

Hi all....my great week, has been cleaning the closet and ready for the winter...

Cassiecat and Jean I asked my MO for Perjeta and I got it in my cocktail on my 4th rounds.

Eileen we will do the 5th on Monday!!! My regular day was Tuesday but with follow up echo etc, we decided to do everything on Monday, a day earlier. After that the 6th and surgery and targeted therapy only. Ohhh the food problem is the worst !!!! I ate fried eggs and sautéed butternut squash for breakfast, lunch will be smoothies and yoghurt and dinner will be crackers. I eat vanilla crackers for the snack. I have one day treat for junk food (pizza or one meal from fast food) between each chemo on my good appetite day. I see the white stripes across my nails now, tips of the fingers hurt sometimes when I try to open any lids.

Bippy, I have to buy my 2nd box of Immodium for the 5th round, already started my omeprazole this morning.

It seems like the round 5 is the worst.

Cathie , I took 7 days off after my 4th round. I will be off for 3 days after this 5th round. I was so sleepy after 3pm even with mid day nap. My friend will be on call and work for me if needed on day 4-5 .

Gatomal nice costume!!!! Great idea !!!

    Beautiful daughters Hope...

nurseshark hope everything will be good as planned for Levi birthday.

Daylight saving time gives me insomnia and I'm addicted to Farmville game because of Chemo and this cold weather. Lol.

Stay strong ladies!!!!! Hugs to you all.

    Shirley.

kellya, that sucks.  I hope it does not majorly delay things for ya!

I am riding the Cipro bus tonight...managed to finally eat some spaghetti and it tasted awesome. Had to eat before taking meds. My WBC count being low has me so tired, I got no energy and am very grumpy. Picture grumpy cat here!  Off to bed early to read and rest. Looking forward to my massage tomorrow!

Don't forget to take a probiotic while on antibiotics. Super helpful! Keeping hydrated is really tough for me right now. Water just tastes funny. Trying to substitute with flavored seltzer, ginger ale, cranberry juice or even boost.

Got myself to work today. Lots of catch up but stamina held up. Thank goodness....

Be good to yourself this weekend and stay healthy. We need these bodies of ours to bounce back after all this abuse.

Bippy that made me laugh!  Thanks for sharing.  Take good care of yourself. Hope you are able to stay out of ER.

Kellya I'm so sorry.  What a disappointment all the way around.  I hurt for you.  Hang in there.  Hope your counts come up quickly.

Food is beginning to taste better.  I still have trouble with my legs feeling so heavy at times.  I just hit a wall every now and then.  Wonder if that's normal and for how long after chemo.

Weekend is approaching!!  Thinking and praying for everyone.

hope , I did have the leg thing, not as bad as yours. Felt like cement sacks. I think walking helped, but sometimes I could not go very far.

Caiti, yes to probiotics. They do help me tremendously too.

Feel okay this morning, off to get onco massage and maybe I will buy a christmas tree today! Feelin festive, weird but true. I was scrooge like for years--no tree, no decor, no massive presents. This year i want all that chit, and soon!  Hmmmmm...yes I see a christmas tree in my house this weekend.

Hope you all have a nice Friday with no SE and doing whatever you want to.

Amy, so glad you finally feel well!

Whew, yesterday was rotten!  My head was in a bad place, and the day was a low one.  I am really hoping today is better!

Eileen, I'm hope the dinner your boyfriend made was yummy.  It sounds like he was very happy to be doing it.  17 days post chemo...so awesome.

Shirley, I'm with you - 2 more to go still.  I think I'm about a week and a half behind your schedule.  Saw you said hi on the TCH board, too. :)

Bippy, I'm laughing about Grumpy Cat.  That was exactly me yesterday.  I had to apologize to DD and DH for being so grumpy and mean. They forgave me. Have fun decorating your tree, ha ha! :)

Cathie, glad you were able to get some work done.  Yes, we do need these bodies to bounce back!

Hope, my legs feels heavy too and it is driving me crazy.  I want to think of myself as vibrant and strong, and then my legs don't cooperate and it makes me feel sickly and weak.  I'm going to try again today to get some kind of walk in.

    Hi Guys,

Well today I have NO shoes that fit my feet. I am wearing flip flops to work that are too tight. I took them off immediately. My pants in the calves are tight. UGH. I basically feel GROSS. Dinner was great last night. I have 5 more days when I can eat. Then # 5 of chemo SE's starts again.

My legs feel heavy too. Probably the water weight I have gained or just another great SE. I walked yesteray and it took me so long to finish the walk. It was tough.

    Bippy=You make me laugh.

Shirley. You and I in chair on Monday. I take my lab top and watch House of Cards. I have a few more episodes to go. The time flies.

Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY or in your head pretend it is great. Think of wonderful places you have been.

cassie, do not worry, you will rise up soon!  I too had to utter grumpy bippy apologies yesterday. Today I feel wonderful after the oncology massage, $60 = relief from SE = priceless. I highly recommend!

Eileen, well, crap to the swelling. My belly is better but has been distended for days. Like I am preggers. Knocked up with the evil tumor triplets!  Cuz I have at least three!  Haha on the path report it says one is shaped like a dumbell. How fitting.

I got some good news - my WBC and neutrophils were both up today, so no antibiotics.  Yay!  My platelets are also back up over 100, so that is a relief too.  My hemoglobin has dropped a little bit more, so I'm going to take a little extra iron and see if that helps.  I also walked - slowly - to my appointment and back.  It's very close by, but there's not way I would have done it yesterday.  So things are looking up.  :)

bippy, I hate the cement legs! hopefully when the WBC come up that goes away!! I'm soooo over this and wNt to have some energy. Did you get your tree? We will put ours up at thanksgiving since just my hubby and son. I usually cook for about 14-18 family members but said not this year. We will just have a turkey breast I think. I didn't want all the work or chance of people being sick.

Justamy, how did the appt. go today? Hope you got some good news!

Cassiecat, they put me on Levoquin when they saw my low WBC.

Eileen, I'll bet you enjoyed your special dinner!

Pangtidor, have you tried boost! My hubby bought me some strawberry and I do like it! So good on my mornings having to get to appointments since I can't get it together in time to eat before I head out. This way I drink it on the way with my Gatorade. It's 240 calories that would be good for a snack or meal. I was addicted a year ago or so to FarmVille!! Hated when my crops died etc, lol

Hope, the heavy legs must be common if so many of us have it!

Eileen, can't they give you something to take the swelling down? I think that would feel awful. Hope it gets better soon!

I will have the neupogen shots over the weekend. Hopefully Monday it shows things are back to normal, that will be after 7 shots. They won't let me do chemo unless numbers are all good. No fun plans really, afraid to be around people cuz I dont want to catch anything with low WBC, is that weird? It would be nice to get out for dinner or something.

I took a claritin this morning as I'm getting some terrible spasms in my low and mis back, maybe the shot.

Hope you guys are all doing "well" this afternoon!

Went to MO today for check up and found I gained 12 lbs...since the hospital a week ago! I'm so swollen... My face looks deformed...they said its the steroids but I still hate the number on the scale!

Justamy, I hate the scale now too. They keep saying it will come off after we are done, and don't worry, but it is such a challenge to accept weight gain along with the other crap you have to deal with too! Seems so unfair doesn't it?

Ellenpg - Concerned about your swelling. What does the MO say? Do they suggest seeing regular general practioner? Did they monitor your heart and all vitals? I know we are going to have SEs but I would want some answers. We all have had issued with leg pain and weakness. Crappy SEs...

Justamy - my weight changes so often lately I decided not to look last few days.

Kellya - hope your WBC goes up soon. I feel stronger today, which is quite different from 3 days ago. I feel like I lost a week of my life. Would love to go eat out, but also thought about being around people at this time. Decisions, decisions!

Pangtidor - hoping you are enjoying food a little more this week. When my taste buds are off, Boost is my go to drink. At least you know your getting some healthy stuff in you.

LadyB - hoping you are having a good week.

Cassiecat - glad to hear all counts are up. Hope you are feeling stronger today. I was pretty grumpy when I wasn't feeling good this past week. I was finding fault with everyone and everything. I am no fun to be around when sick. That's why I hate even having a cold, I can be tough to hang with at those moments. I just Try to avoid conversations lol

I actually got out for a walk this afternoon. I walked for about 45 minutes at a very slow pace. It really felt good, but darn it's cold today in NY. Had scarf and gloves on. Could hardly get up the stairs the other day because my legs were so weak and achy. The IV fluids definitely helped.

    Wishing everyone a SEs weekend.

Justamy= That is from the taxotere. One of the side effects is weight gain. I gained 9 lbs since starting chemo. I eat nothing. My MO told me it will go away after treatment. He did not want to put me on any medications. As long as it goes away I am ok.

Weight gain, funky taste buds amd fatigue are my main side effects. I look at myself as being lucky if that are the only SE I have gotten so far.  Oh plus NO HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

freakin taxotere. explains why I can go for days without eating, endure Big D, and STILL not lose weight. I am so ready for a cleanse, I feel poisoned. My WBC must still be low, am very lethargic. No temp though. How long till they bounce back? The neuplasta did nothing this time. Hate wanting to do stuff but not being able to. so gave up today

Bippy/justamy Capillary protein leak syndrome appears to explain fluid retention in cancer patients who receive docetaxel treatment. This is why we have fluid retention with taxotere. I was told will go away about 4 to 8 weeks after treatment. Also, decreases urination. More fun from our chemo drugs. UGH I love them and hate them at the same time. I am so sick of this I could scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to get out tomorrow! Planning a walk with Dh in the am and that elusive tree! Hoping too my WBC climbs soon. Nighty night
