Oh found something interesting. My drain tubes are long enough to rest in the front pockets of my old button up scrubs. No clips no stitches on the surgical incision just glue and steristrips. Covered them with maxi pads and paper tape as adviced. Drain sites just circled with the gauzes and secured with paper tape.Comfy.

Shirley, congrats on getting through this next step! I go in tomorrow and am nervous as all get out, but I know I'll make it through. Fear of the unknown is worse, sometimes. I'll post again when I can!

Non-cancer news, but proud mom: DD got accepted into the summer program that she auditioned for last weekend! Yay! She won't get into all of them, but it's a good start for the season. :)

good luck tomorrow, Cassie cat and congrats to your daughter.

I went in today for # 7 taxotere, perjeta and herceptin. My onco said no way, still to down with cough cold...even though fever is gone. He thinks I probably had the flu even though flu test was neg....because the Tech barely put the swab in my nose, much less up in the nostril like u are supposed to. Rescheduled for next week. Took those steroids preload for nothing, bah.

Congrats u sold your wigs, Bippy. I'll keep mine, stage 4 and all..if I get hair..sure I'll need them again

Can't wait to see the twins

    Nurse shark you are adorable.

    Shirley, contined healing

I know I missed some...it's hard on an iPad to go back and read without losing.

JeniferE- thinking of you and hope day after surgery is noneventfull and you are resting, relaxing and taking the advice to relax the first week. Hope the , sentinel node came out clear.

Cassiscat, thinking of you lady! Good luck with surgery and recovery. Will be praying for you tomorrow and waiting to hear results. Doing the happy dance on the audition success for your DD. -- so happy.

Shirley, hope all is going well for you today, and recovery is going well. I am sending ((((big hugs)))) your way. Edited to say more than glad so happy and celebrating with you that you had a good path report.

Strong Enough seeing our journey laid out like that you are right it is a lot. I am so happy that you were able to spend time with family. I say starting this year by letting go and leaving the former things behind. I can't wait to join you. We will all get there

NurseShark, you look adorable love the picture

    Shirley, beautiful picture!

Gatomal , can't wait to see the twins!

Kellogg I am with Eileen not liking you boss much right now. I have been managing for 15+ years and have never understood nor embraced a$holes and usually call them on it. I would have meet with you before you settled in to catch- up and just get the lay of the land and would have had another meeting later in the week to see how things are going and specifically see how you were doing. Don't like him -- arrogant.

Eileen, glad rads are going well.

Beatmon , sorry to hear you are sick and that chemo is delayed get well soon!

I am on my IPad and probably missed responding to some updates. So (((((big))))) hugs to all and will post again tomorrow.

    imageGood morning ladies,

I tried to catch up on all the posts I missed. Seems like a lots been happening in a short time.

Pangtidor - hope you are recovering well with little discomfort. The pic looks great.

Cassiecat - thinking of you today.

Gatamol - have the twins arrived? Hoping all is going well.

LadyB - two more! Hang in there.

Stronenough - really enjoyed the pics of your journey. Feeling brave this am, so here's my post. Lol btw those are drawn on eyebrows.

Bipsy and Jutamy - hope u r feeling better.

Ellenpg - glad to hear losing fluid weight. Sounds like swelling is getting better.

Nurseshark - great photos of you and the baby.

Kellogg - good luck with going back to work. Part time is a good way to easy back in. I can't believe I worked throughout this journey. I modified on chemo weeks, but was actually grateful to get out and keep myself busy.

I know I didn't address everyone, but thinking of you all. We are entering into the final stages of this journey. I am 15 of 33 thru radiation. I started my journey with surgery, followed by chemo. Radiation is my last step before hormone inhibitors. Still recovering from SEs. I guess after putting poison in your body for all these months, going to take a little time to bounce totally back.

An older gentlemen (patient at office I work at) said he was an artist and insisted on sketching me while in waiting room. Omg when finished it looked like Mrs Doubtfire! I wanted to cry thinking I might look like that. What happened! My face is still swollen and no hair. I looked very sad in pic. Of course it was a character pic, but still upsetting. I threw it away! I really don't think he is a very good artist. ha!

Wishing you all a good day.

Beatmon, sorry you are still illin with the flu. Raquel welch has the best wigs, if you want more. Very light and natural. Feel better soon lady.

Love all the photos of BEAUTIFUL women! We are a classy bunch!

Surgeon performed partial mastectomy and took two nodes on Wednesday, all negative...hooray! Feeling aches and pains, a bit of leg and face swelling, but manageable. Glad to be through surgery with a positive outcome. Thanks for all the support, ladies!

Cassie- thinking about you today! Jenifer- congrats on good results!

Gatmol- still thinking of you and your babies!!!

Also agree love everyone's photos! Yes my boss is a jerk. Finally got to sit down with him today and go over some pending things my temp left me as well as other stuff I've been catching up on. Not once did he ask how I was or how being back was going. Doesn't surprise me but still annoying, though I'm trying not to let it bother me. I don't need the added stress. He owns the company and him and his partners have been really good to me but his lack of compassion sometimes is so irritating. Ok vent over...

    Happy weekend everyone!

Cassie good luck with your surgery! Jenifer & Pantgidor - hope your recovery is going well

Strongenough - thanks so much for the nice comments :)

Eileen - wow! 10 lbs that is awesome. i am stuck and have not lost any further but still do feel some fluid in my feet and abdomen (slightly). I did have terrible muscle pain i could not sit or stand easily, but after about 10 days of it, it has mostly gone away. Still feel the tight muscles but i am now hopeful this will go away. I have been walking 3 miles a day for 5 days the past week and hope to continue it, maybe thats what helped.

Take care everyone, hope you are all doing well.

hi there! I am still in the hospital but things went well and the pain is well managed. It was a MX so my right arm and hand are free. I think we'll get path results Tuesday. One drain.

On my phone to write this so will keep it short. Glad to be doing as well as I am. :)

Cassiecat=Glad it went well. Ok,now lets get a great path report. I hated the waiting. UGH!!

Windgirl. I am now 6 weeks from last chemo and now with out all the fluid I really notice the muscle pain. I never stopped walking the entire time I was on chemo. 4 to 5 times a week 4 miles. A few times only 2 times a week. Still have the pain. Went back to gym 2 weeks ago. Starting super slow. I hope this resolves too. I still am swollen in feet ,ankles, and right arm.

    hi everyone,

I haven't read everyone's posts since last Sunday, and hope all are doing well, or as well as could be. The twins arrived last Minday, during a scheduled c section that turned into an emergency general anesthesia case after the spinal didn't work fully. I remember going to sleep so what panicked as my doctor was saying we have to move quickly, baby B is decompensating. I woke up asking about them immediately. Both babies ultimately are fine, after both going to the NICU in the past week. We just got them home last night, and my blood pressure is trending upwards, so I am on high BP medicine for a while. My in law situation took a turn for the worse, as the name we choose for one twin, Is the name of both of our grandfathers. MIL says that we named the baby after her father, who was physically abusive, and demanded we change the baby's name and she refuses to call him anything but baby A. This request was then followed by a long letter detailing our slights to her, beginning with the most important one " we know cancer is not fun, but we are stressed too, and that is no reason to keep us from seeing our grandchildren". After lots of tears from my husband and Me, we are taking a break from contact.

I start chemo again this Wed, and will have surgery after either four weeks or eight weeks of taxol, depending on how well it works now, post pregnancy. I'm trying to stay focused on the moment, focused on the miracle that the babies are here and doing fine, and focused on strength and recovery and healing for our immediate family. I've been thanking God, and praying a lot for strength. I can't wait to read how everyone Is doing, and thank you for your prayers and good thoughts, I have felt them!

Gatomal= First of all Congratulations on your fabulous twins. Second=Congratulations for getting that MIL out of your life. Please put her on your prayer list. She needs all the help she can get. Make a god box and put her name it. That is for situations  we have no control over. Put name in box and LET IT GO!!!

I wish you only the best and I am sending you strong hugs from my house in Florida.

gatomal, blessings to you, hubster and NEW healthy babies! I am so glad you are through the delivery and home. You are a remarkable, incredible, strong woman. Do not let the MIL situation get to you. The audacity and abusiveness is vile. Classic narcissist behavior -it's all about her. Should also tell her she can just go right with her brilliant plan, and call the Baby anything she wants, because she'll only be talking to herself for the rest of her life since she'll never be seeing, touching, or speaking to the child. Obviously, your MIL was an abused child herself but never tried to break the cycle. You live your life the way you want to. Florida grandparents have zero rights as far as visiting their grandchildren. Hope it is the same there. Now, focus only on getting better!

Cassie, you will zip right through recovery! So glad you posted. Welcome home later today, yes?

Eileen, I did have muscle pain for weeks PFC. Glad your swelling is coming down. I so admire your exercise regiment. Need to do that myself.

Went to onco and she said that CPR to chemo is what "they dream of", and that is what I had. This made me cry with joy, and I wish it for us all.

gatomal I'm glad your babies are safe and home. I'm so sorry the in laws aren't better. You just don't need that kind of stress. :(

I had a complete clinical response to chemo but now am waiting to see if it was a complete pathological response. I hope so but regardless I have to believe now that surgery got whatever lingered. I think he took three lymph nodes but I was pretty foggy yesterday. I'll see him today at some point.

Still just on toridol for pain and it's working well. I have hydromorphone on a pca if I need it but so far I havent. I've gotten up three times and plan to walk in the hall today. I learned how to empty and close up my drain. Easy peasy. I think it's a jp drain. Having only my left side affected makes this all easier. You BMX ladies are tough!!!

gatomal congratulations!!!!! A happy dance of finally getting rid of your MIL. It's for the best for this time. You don't need any joy killer person at this time.

Eileen, I get some muscle cramps/pain, I don't know how I should call it, you know the feeling of your calves just before you get the Charlie's horses. It usually happen when I stand for long time or tiptoe to reach something.

Goat, I was talking about the shots they use to guide the sentinel nodes before the surgery. If you have to go to the nuclear medicine or imaging before surgery, apply lidocaine cream around the nipple area. It will help with the pain.

    Great news Jennifer !'nn

How are you doing now Cassiecat?

    Big hug ladyb....

Nice picture Catie. Love the smile.

Thank you so much everyone .Saturday, 3 days post bilateral mastectomy. My last pain pill was 24 hours ago. So far so good. Eyebrow is gone, I have more interest on the make up now. Look good feel better all right...:-)

I will see the surgeon next Thursday . I was soooo loopy when he explained everything to my husband after the surgery. I will ask everything in details on my next appointment.

It's cold outside but I won't complain. Let it snow if it wants too...Life is gooooooodddddd...:-)

Stay strong ladies. Hugs to you all

Gatomal, congradulations on the birth of your dear babies. Glad you and they came through safely. What a blessing to have new life in the midst of this bc ordeal.

Goat, I had the dye injected before surgery. It wasn't in the nipple area and wasn't bad at all. Praying that you will be fine.

Cassie and Shirley, it must be a relief to have the surgery behind you. Praying for a quick recovery.

My ALND surgery is scheduled for February 12. I am trying to not stress, about it and just focus on getting through the last two chemos. Sun is shining brightly here. Light is so beautiful.

Wishing all a blessed day. Love, Jean

I'm going home today! Just waiting for the discharge paperwork. Checked in yesterday at 6am and leaving about 30 hours later. Not too bad! I'll have a home nurse visit tomorrow. They an take off the outer dressing, or I can go in Monday for that. Should get half the staples out next Friday. So now it's just time to let my body heal. My surgeon is confident that there is no cancer left in me. :)

Jean, I love your attitude and I know you'll get through whatever comes your way.

Shirley, it's great to hear you sounding so positive (as always!). I'm so glad your recovery is going well.

Bippy, I cried today when my surgeon declared that I was most likely cancer free as of yesterday. He took only two lymph nodes and said they all looked good. We'll know for sure later this week, but he feels confident that if there was any cancer left, it's now in a jar in pathology! January 9th will be a day I celebrate from here on out.

Eileen, I wish the rest of that fluid would just leave you already! Your exercising is amazing - you are inspiring. :)

Gatomal, hoping things are going alright for you today and that you're enjoying being a mom to 4 now. :)

Dearest Gatomal: I'm 62 years old....I've come to the conclusion that some people just can't be helped. Shed no more tears over this woman. Cancer is hard? Screw her...you are fighting for your life and your babies. She obviously still needs help. Please don't let this dim your joy anymore then it already has. I feel for your hubby. He is probably appalled. My friends have a saying...we hate people....maybe it applies here. Of course we really don't!

Sweet dreams for you and the sweetlings.
