Ladyb, I was supposed to start rads 3-4 weeks after chemo but I had a brief delay because I developed celllulitis and a seroma.  Ended chemo 10/28 and started rads 12/1.  I developed neuropathy in my feet, mostly the right foot, at about the 9th week of Taxol. It seems to be getting a little better but I was told it could take quite a few months to go away completely.  I know of some women who have seen neurologists and are taking medication so if your neuropathy is severe and ongoing that may be an option. Hope you continue to feel better each day now that you're done with Taxol!

Cathie57. I finished #16 of rads today. No SE at all except some fatique in the afternoon. Nothing like chemo. I have now lost 11lbs. I think I am holding about 5 more pounds. Still some swelling in left foot ,ankle, right arm,and thighs. I am a new person. No more pain when walking.

I have been to Turks and Caicos. Did not stay long. Was on a cruise with my BF .It was work for him. I know that sounds funny but, he goes on a cruise every year for work. He is a financial speaker. Money cruise they call it.  I just go and skip all the lectures and work shops. I have FUN. It is really nice there. Enjoy!!

Lady B =I did not get neuropathy. Felt like I had everything but that.  Check it out on the search on these boards. Sorry about that. Good luck!!!!

Everyone have a great weekend. I am an opposite working. I work every weekend and off during the week. I feel like I am the crew that comes in on the weekend to a huge building and nobody even knows we exist.  Been there over 2 years and know no one except my 4 co workers. Never seen upper management. Lucky me!!!

I am a little more sore now than I have been. Combo of nerves kicking back in, doing a little more, not staying on top of my pain meds? I think I need to slow down a little bit. I have a rads consultation Wednesday, and I think that's when I'll find out if they still recommend rads and if so, how much and where. I'd really like to hear that now they don't recommend it, but I suspect that won't be the case. What I do want to hear is how it might change things for me, even though they can't predict anything with certainty.

Taxol done !! No more chemo !!! Appt went well everyone gushed over Levi :) even MO had to snap a pic on phone lol said he'd look at it when he's having a bad day. Felt good to cry happy tears at these appointment for once!!

I was worried going I that we might have to postpone as my counts have been borderline since baby. But anc magically jumped to 2.5. We never did shots first bc pregnant than taxol gives me such bad bone pain As is didn't wanna worsen.

    Gatomal: beautiful children!

Will catch up on rest of posts later baby is stirring :) I hope everyone is feeling well

oh nurseshark, congrats! That is awesome to be done! I have such bad carpal tunnel after the pregnancy, I wouldn't even know if I was getting neuropathy from the taxol. May try to get my MO to refer to hand clinic for steroid shots sooner rather than later. So weird to be not pregnant anymore, right?

It was very emotional for me to do taxol without the babies inside. I felt alone, like I wasn't fighting for them inside me anymore. Now I'm fighting for me to be with them on the outside. I had a rough tx last week, have a little cold too, cold capping was especially miserable this last time. I'm sleeping a lot, I think there has been just so much going on, I'm totally drained, and my body is trying to heal.

nurseshark, woohooo! Is that all of us now, done?

I bought some Genie Milana bras today from QVC, they are beautiful, and have a high lace modesty panel, which I have already learned that I will need.....i hope they work out. On sale if anyone is interested, as they are 10 bucks each on QVC vs. 20 each on Ebay right now. The colors are lovely. Will let you know if they work or not with foobs.

A tip, check out Ariom on the living without recon forum for all things prosthesis. She is awesome and knows much about them. It is another learning experience!

Went to farmers market today, got some lovely veg. So grateful for my friend and the weather! Met some nice folks. My hair is like sigourney weavers in Alien 3 now, cannot wait to sell my remaining wigs on Ebay.

Bippy the ladies who work in my surgeon's office actually recommended the genie bra. I'll have to check it out. Can't really wear my old ones for now.

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is feeling better and better as time goes by! I took it easier yesterday and feel better today. DD had an audition yesterday and one today as well. I'm riding today with two other moms who are also friends :) and our girls, and we're celebrating one of the mom's birthday today. I'm looking forward to it. My head feels very fuzzy and in the right light you can see that it's coming in dark, but in other lights it looks blonde. So weird! But it's coming in and so far I don't think there are any patches that are thicker or thinner than others. I have my radiation consultation Wednesday, a surgery follow-up Thursday (get the rest of my staples out - yay!) and an onc appt. Friday followed by Herceptin. At some point my boss and I need to sit down and start mapping out a plan for my return, but I'm not pushing for that yet.

Thinking of you all. Happy Sunday. :)

went for a nice long bike ride with DH, my joints are very stiff still. Also, no one told me that I must, really, really, stretch arms to prevent frozen shoulder and preserve mobility. I am doing it on my own, but am going to get some PT. Doing gentle arm raises in all directions, and crawlin up the wall.

Cassie, so glad you are havin a good day! Our weather is glorious today, feeling very grateful again.

Amy, how are ya? Did you have surgery yet?

How is everyone doing today? This last Taxol has really knocked me on my butt, so glad I don't have anymore. 4 days PFC I slept most of Friday, Saturday and today I am so fatigued. Neuropathy has worsened and I put a call into the MO for this and dizziness/vertigo which is new for me? The good thing NO MORE CHEMO so I hopefully will start seeing improvements soon.

    Will post more later!

Gatomal: Beautiful Babies! You are so blessed to have 2 sets of beautiful twins!

LadyB: Congratulations on last Chemo! You will feel better and better with each passing day and you're not recovering just to do it again in 2 or 3 weeks! Doesn't it feel great?!

Bippy: I have not had surgery yet. I met with my BS Friday and meet with the PS Wed. Then they will get together and give me a date. Prob the first week of Feb but could be next week depending on if they can get an ER. My Birthday is Fri, January 30, so either way is good with me. Otherwise I'd be all for it being ASAP. Cant wait to have it over and if I have clear nodes, I'm done with treatment except the 5 years of hormone treatment. Yay!

Good morning friends. DD had two more auditions this weekend, so it was nice to have that distraction. She's done five so far, heard yes from two and waiting on results from the other three. I think she wants to do five more still! She's enjoying the process, and it gives us something out of the ordinary to do each weekend. No complaints here.

Bippy, I have been gently stretching per the PT I saw. She didn't specialize in breast cancer or anything, but she showed me three or four stretches to do to help maintain range of motion.

Amy, hoping for clear nodes for you!

Angie, hope you're feeling better today. Every day is one day further out from that last chemo. Your body can truly heal now.

Had my radiation cancelled again. Had my blood drawn to see if I could go to dentist and all my counts super low. My MO ordered neuprogen for me to give myself a shot for three days and my insurance will not approved in till my MO fills out all these form.  They wanted to know why anyone would got this shot. I said oncologist ordered low WBC count. Then could take days to get to pharmacy. So off to MO on Wednesday more blood work and they will give me shot if I need. UGH!!!!!!!! He told me if I get a fever to take myself right away to the ER. I told him enough is enough. Meanwhile I was thinking of getting a pedicure this week, Well, that is off. I will be the longest patient at radiation with all my interruptions. At least I like going there.

Glad everyone is finishing up and doin well. Oh,at food store today a lady had a dog she said could detect cancer, low blood sugar, and other illnesses in people. If it grapped your arm you were sick. Did not grab my BF's arm. Grabbed my twice. I am doomed.!!!

amy, happy birthday girl! Maybe surgery after then is better then. So glad you are finally feelin better.

    Ladyb, wooohooo!

Cassie, I bet it is wonderful to have DD involved and doing so well in ballet. It would make me feel normal I think, to be her mum. Enjoy! Hope she continues to do great.

Damn Eileen, that sucks. I really need to go to dentist too. Your dog story is hilarious! Get those wbcs back up soon.

I am startin rads today. Had my sim yesterday and it was surreal and emotional. Nice techs at least and it is super close to home. I hate having to do it but...…..rad doc says I still need it so, ok. Trying to be grateful that I have the option, that I am able to do it. my ROM is good, I am really workin on it daily.

Eileen, that sounds so frustrating. :( And the dog at the store? Crazy!

Bippy, it is really fun to watch DD as she progresses and matures into her teenage dancer self. She started way back when she was 3, doing creative movement classes through parks and rec. :) Who knew back then where it would lead? Glad the rads was no big deal. I meet with an RO tomorrow.

Yay Kellogg!!! Mine are still thin, with no new growth yet, but I do see new eyebrows sprouting! My head is fuzzy too, but still nothing real long, and you can still see scalp. No real leg or underarm growth, or anywhere else for that matter.

Hello everyone! I'm still losing what little bit of hair I had anywhere after # 7 last Thursday. What it is really weird is that the fuzz on my head hurts now, for the first time. You all can send me what you're shaving, lol.

This has been a rough one. More pain, nausea. Feels more like walking on ground glass on my heels. Feel better this afternoon. Not sure I will be up for #8, but I think he is switching me to herceptin and perjeta only on the next tx. I hope so. I may request anyway so I can go on the cruise and have some fun. Then it will be scan time anyway!

Amy, Happy Birthday Lady! I say enjoy your B-day and then jump into surgery, etc.

Cassie, wow kudos to your DD she is a go getter with the ballet. We can tell you are a proud Mom and supporting her 100% despite going through your treatment. May hat is off to you! I am so glad you are enjoying supporting her and just allowing her to go after her dreams!

Eileen, the dog story…so funny! I probably would have ran and quickly. Or would have ensured my husband was read by the Dog (big smile). Hoping the insurance comes through quickly so that you can get those WBCs back up and move forward.

Bippy, thanks for the update on Rads. So glad the RADs was a breeze compared to chemo. I have my simulation next Monday and start RADS within two weeks from 1/26. RO indicated I need to go to PT for Range of Motion and to help minimize the likelihood of lymphedema, since I had 18 nodes removed. So will get fitted for the compression sleeve.

Kellogg, woot, woot, eyelashes! I would be excited too. DH is so fascinated by hair growing back on my head. It is more than fuzz but not really long. He is so funny that he brushes it every day for me – or what little there is. LOL. I tell him his extra care of rubbing and brushing is making it grow faster – big smile. No real growth of hair anywhere else.

Feeling a lot better today. Still fatigued but not feeling as bad as I was on Saturday and Sunday. Called off work today and tomorrow to give myself time to recuperate. Yes, I am glad I don't have to recoup just to do it all over again.

I believe that Gatomal and Beatmon are stilling going through chemo, is that right? Anyone else? We also have a few getting the year Herceptin treatment, correct? We are all moving down this highway and can look back in the rearview mirror on major mileposts -- chemo, surgery, rads, etc. Thinking of everyone.

beatmon, you are awesome lady. I love your attitude and willingness to embrace the good things! You inspire me to cruise with hubster, maybe that is the idea I needed. We went just once and loved it. So easy and relaxing. And the shows were shockingly good! I live in a very artsy town, and the shows on the boat were equal to any seen here.

Ladyb, yes, rads is no issue, not scary after sim and first zap, though i do expect redness and fatigue later. Okay by me, not like chemo at all! In and out in 5 mins. Nice techs too. They are so gettin donuts! As I said on some board here, I have had many, many blistering sunburns as a Fla. Native, before I knew better. So a little patch does not worry me. I got aloe, I got meds, ready to have any remaining cancer zapped the F outta there.

Yes, are we all done now? Can we get back to a new normal? I do have Herceptin till June......cannot wait for the burning ceremony, in our backyard, wherein I am gathering all my wristbands, pill bottles, and unneeded cancer papers for obliteration. Fire is purifying, and I can now see its connection to rebirth and why it has been integral to ceremonies forever. It will be powerful to cleanse my world of the cancer debris, pain, fear and anger. Letting all of it go. Uh oh, cue the Frozen song!
