Had a chuckle about your dish comment. They probably just offered you the special that is currently going around. But love your reply back to them. We are trying out the Roku in a second home (one day our retirement home, under repair) I must admit I like it ALOT. It is a streaming media box. You buy the box and any additional monthly fees are your choice. We already subscribed to Netflix but it is an easier to use then our set up at home. But there are 1000's of movies and shows to watch. Negatives are that we can't get local channels without antennae and hubby can't get Fox news the way he likes. But overall, I LOVE the price. It is cheaper than one month of our dish service.

Enerva - I "thought" I had that plant in one of my books but I could not locate. Can you provide more info? The picture is beautiful but it doesn't show the growth pattern. Are all the stems coming up from the root? It certainly is a bea-U-tiFul plant.

Magicalbean, what a great opportunitny to take the Master Gardener program. My SIL took at least one and loved it. Brrr on your snow right now.
Bluebird, I love to watch the birds as well and have 3 feeders out where I can see them from the sunroom.
Mommyof2, DH bought me a battery charged mower once as I begged for it. However, he says I take too long to decide to cut the grass and he does it. Oops.
Ananda, I reallllly want to buy him one as I know it cut down on his mowing time. he tells me he gets dizzy mowing around all my "stuff".
Gardennerd, I grew those round zucchinni a few years and they did well. The problem for me growing any kind of squash is the squash bug. They can destroy a plant in one day. I am only going to grow spaghetti squash this year just because it is another fun veggie that does super well in our heat.
Enerva, I don't know what that plant is but.WOW!
Going out dancing tonight, so no planting until tomorrow. :-)

Enerva, it looks like a type of Prayer Plant, but I'm not sure. They come in different colors.
The rain has finally stopped for a few hours but boy is it cold out in that wind!
The dish guy was here at 8 and was done at 10. The device they told him to install was not the one I agreed to, so I refused to allow him to install it. He called in and told them his directions were wrong and customer didn't order the device dish told him to install. He installed the one my online request said I'd ordered. Nuff said.

M0mmy, I ordered a pair of electric grass cutters. I can't hold up the weed whacker my DH got. It's way to heavy! I'll be able to get down into the "knees" of my Bald Cyprus without hurting the knees. The trees knees not mine lo

I don't have a garden I live in an apartment . I recently planted some hostas in containers and a golden shadow dogwood tree and a red maple.
I also have a lemon tree and lots of succulents lol
I ll share some pictures soon. Ir been raining so much this week here .

Spring is finally coming to new england. Peach tree in bloom. Tons of rain here too.0 -
The vegetable garden. Some onions, garlic, lettuce, parsley, kale, beets and peas are planted. Soon I'll put in the potatoes and corn (Corn supposed to be planted when the apple blossoms bloom.) I'm supposed to wait until Memorial Day to be frost free before I'll put in the tomatoes, squash, etc. I've got lots of flowers started too. Wish it would stop raining and warm up.0 -
Ditto flaviarose! We actually got several hours of sunshine today!
I went out to check on my bales today and everything seems to be sprouting. I have all my beans and peas coming up and my cucs, zucchini and squash are also. I was floored at how warm the bales are! Everything is nice and toasty. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed everything will root into the bale of straw. With the heat in the bales I think I did something right! 😜

I want another rubber tree plant. I had one but my mom killed it when she was here taking care of me after my mastectomy. I have a snake plant that is growing like crazy.

Gardennerd, thank you for the link on ticks. I ordered some of the American Beauty Berry Bush seeds. I'll plant them around the outside of my garden fence as soon as I get them. Maybe the critters will munch on them instead of me or my veggie plants?

M0mmy, are your snake plants the same as what my mom used to call MIL Tounges? They were fast growing sharp buggers.

Awh Enerva - such a shame the plant is not yours. With the help of WenchLori (good eye by the way) I found it. It is a Calathea Orbifolia.
Its a cousin of the prayer plant. https://kensnursery.com/product/stunning-calathea-orbifolia/ It is a beautiful plant.
Love the pics of the baby hosta's and others. Looking at your choices, I noticed no hanging plants. It grows very easy, somewhat contained to just drapping downward so it takes up minimal space. And its vines can grow out 2-3 feet.

Aside, my tractor requires to check the air in the tires before I use of late as the two front tires have slow leaks. Hubby offered to fix, but I didn't want to add to his list and was occasionally airing them up for now. Well? . . . ladies I had good news on a second biopsy Friday that came back benign. When we got back home I wanted to do some work on the lawn tractor. Basically I run the mower over a large spot of leaves on the ground to suck up to use as mulch. I was so excited that I forgot to check my tractors tires and literally ran one of the tires off of its rim.
Now I'm dreading to have to go back in the house and tell hubby what I've done and caused MORE work for him. Well? guess the good news of the day was the best time for me to had done that. His answer, " no problem" and hugged me with a big smile.

I redid the frost blankets for my babies today. The storm that came thru last night ripped most of the covers off. My poor babies got cold without their blankies!

Looks like spring is finally here. Just caught up on all the photos. I went back to work this week after 6-week surgery leave. Yikes.
Enerva, how do you keep your succulents looking so good? I have tried three times to grow them but no success. Probably the pot and location.
Had a fun night at our Botanical Gardens this week. They just opened a new section and we went to the preview party. I have no idea what these plants are, they were not labeled.

Scottiemom1 - neat pics from the botanical gardens. I'm not sure but top left looks like a dessert rose and the bottom right some type of pitcher plant. Not sure of the other two. I love spending time at botanical gardens.
WenchLori - I've killed a prayer plant also. I do well with plants that either like water or hardly like water. Those in between care plants seem to suffer with me. From what I understand a prayer plant likes to be wet but not wet feet, high humidity, likes sun but not directly. They are really attractive plants but I never got the formula right.

The top petal is where Christ laid His head. The two side petals for His arms and hands. The bottom petal for His feet. The thorns in the middle isHis crown of thorns. The brown to pink edges for the blood of Christ.
I have about a dozen Dogwood trees and I won't allow my DH to cut a single one down. 🙏

While I was getting my 5,000 steps in today I wandered down to the pond. I heard the rushing water from our neighbor's pond pouring into ours and decided to snap a picture. I didn't realize how tranquil the picture would be until I looked at it a few hours later.

I am enjoying everyones pictures although I havent done much due to cold weather. Yesterday I did some weeding and planted my biggest container on the south porch. I figure it should be safe and can always haul it in if I need to.
I like succulents and cactus for indoors because they are so easy care. But that calathea picture was beautiful!
Flavia, bonsai is one of the things I would like to try one day and thats what I thought when I saw the maple too. Saw a beautiful bonsai red maple one time. That and a fairy garden, terrariums, a garden train are all things I would like to do. Maybe I will retire one day and be able to do those things!
