KID1919: I am so very sorry. There are never adequate words. Cyber shoulders available for leaning on. This is a tragedy that should not have happened.

KID1919 - I’m so sorry about the loss of your SIL. Hope you can find peace in the wonderful memories you two shared. So many loved ones are being stolen from us by one damn disease or another

kid1919 I am so sorry about your SIL and thoughts with you and your family right now.
ctmbiskia people are bananas about that shot and that is crazy. Not sure what the big deal is unless they are afraid to get a shot really. Even the last President got it. I have family members in another State who are refusing to get it too for one reason or another. Dumb.
Meanwhile we live in our house and stare out windows so we are safe and won't die from the virus. Other things, yes..........but why invite more trouble than you have already?????

Another day at home, alone, working. Glad I can at least function but these coughing bouts have me on the fence of whether or not to seek medical attention. It feels a little like bronchitis however I am not coughing anything up and no wheezing. Vitamins, lots of water, and advil are helping. Will be adding in some honey today. Have some garlic cloves in some water on the stove going to try breathing that in as well. It helps the inflammation for me, anyway.
I have a dexa and the low dose lung ct scan next week. Hope I don't have to reschedule.
I called my friend last evening and told her not to expect me at my friends memorial service. I just can't do it.

ctmbsikia ,I think you need to speak to a healthcare worker. Have you been able to have a covid test ? A dry cough can be a sign of the covid infection amongst other things. I hope you can stop working and rest this weekend and your self care regime helps.
Good luck getting to your dexa and scan next week.

Thank you denny10. I did do a covid test and it's negative. yea! Just finished a report for work, and there is nothing else "due" today so I may knock off here soon and go rest. I did the pre-check in for my appointments (twice, you have to do each one separately!) The covid text survey will come on Monday so I am hopeful I will be feeling much better by then. It's been a long time since I've been ill for this long (more than 2-3 days). Improvement is coming now. Pretty confident of that. I cancelled all plans for the weekend. Just having that pressure off is also a help for me to rest and heal.
Hope you and everyone here that has been so gracious to me has a wonderful weekend.

ctmbiskia if it is cold there and the heat is on like it is here it dries it all out and can cause people to develop coughs from the dryness of the air. We sometimes even boil a pot of water on the stove to get some moisture in the air here. A hot shower helps sometmes helps do the same thing too. We usually even leave the door open when we shower to let the steam from the shower out in the house. If nothing else, honey lemon sugar free cough drops are the go to there.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. This is maybe not the forum to post on but at a loss as where to go. I have my sisters to turn to for comfort. My brother is going to be lost. Cindy was the best thing that ever happened to him, He is a homebody
with a capital H! If not for her he would never leave his recliner. Now we will have to shift his butt

So sorry for your loss, KID. She sounds like she was a very special person. May you find healing in your memories.

My rant: Last Friday I got my long-awaited (first) tattoo commemorating my two bouts with cancer (the semicolons mean "a story not yet finished"). Two days later, I found a new lump in my good breast. Birads 4C. Biopsy scheduled next week. Looks like I'm headed for my THIRD BOUT with this stupid beast. Oh, and with Christmas coming up, DH and I have pre-emptively decided we will not share any bad news we get until after the holidays. Which is the same approach we took after bout #1 which we learned about three days before our wedding. Feels like I spend more time protecting other people than dealing with my own feelings. Ugh!

sunshinegal...I love your tattoo! I am so sorry you are headed towards a 3rd battle with this beast. You tell people when you are ready and not a minute before then. I am thinking about you. Hugs.

Sunshinegal: So sorry about your news. Sending thoughts your way. We also put off telling anyone until after a big, planned vacation with family.

Sunshinegal, I love your tattoo, too! I'm sorry that you are facing the possibility of another round of cancer.
(((hugs)))

Sunshine - Don't consider that not sharing the news is protecting others, consider it preserving YOUR holidays. I'm very open with friends about my diagnosis, but had scans in the fall just before trip with girlfriends and determined that I'd delay the news until the fun was over. I think you are protecting yourself and that is good. You can get their support after enjoying the fun.

KIDI919, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to your brother and you and all of your SIL's family.
If someone doesn't want to get vaccinated, stay home and stay away from people. And if you must go somewhere, always use an N95 mask and always social distance. It's not that difficult. Lives are at stake, and not just the life of the unvaccinated person. The fact that this isn't understood as we are approaching 2 years of this pandemic is astonishing.

You can say that again. Hard to believe we were told 2 years ago almost to travel when we could and "enjoy the time we had" due to other health issues that are even more urgent than cancer believe it or not. Then COVID hit and we were stuck inside. Now just praying it calms down enogh at some point so we can travel somewehere at some point again without fear of dying from the virus.

Thank you Beesie, I don't understand it either.

I want to be able to punch people in the nose if they're wearing a mask below it. Or break a few teeth for those who wear theirs below the chin. I'd wear a double layer of surgical gloves, of course.
This is for you, checker at Aldi's today, and your manager.

Thank you cm2020, KIKI919, Sunshine99, and nopink2019! I forget that keeping the news to myself for now will also help me enjoy the holidays more
Over the weekend, I baked cookies with my kids and attended DH's show (he's a musician). Fun stuff that was a nice distraction. Biopsy on Thursday.

Will keep good thoughts sunshinegirl.

sunshinegal...I'm glad you were able to have fun this weekend and distract yourself a bit (which is far easier said than done). I will be thinking about you Thursday.

Sunshine, good thoughts coming your way.

Shunshine thinking of you as you are going through your testing which is so stressful.

Thank you, everyone! The procedure went smoothly this morning; they ended up doing FNA instead of core due to the lesion's tricky location near a blood vessel and the implant. Results expected in 5-7 days.
