hahaha Katy. When I saw it I though it resembled me when I don't flat iron my hair. Big crazy hair, big butt....I can't move like that though. How about this?? More acceptable??

Katy, it looked like twerking to me, too. Nothing wrong with that, probably a good way to throw out your back, though.

    Ducky,

Wish I could help. I love ironing. That was my job at home from when I was 11. I ironed all the family clothes in fact I still do. I find it relaxing and I use starch!!!! My laundry room in the new house has a rolling rack and all the trimmings. Wish you could send those runners my way.

    Shorfi,

I remember those color tv things.. We didn't have one we had 1 black and white TV and my dad loved those same shows so we all had to watch them!!!

    Egg,

So glad everything came back clean!!! Doing a happy dance

    image

    Rainn,

I saw that bacon thing too... I don't eat it but I do cure and smoke my own bacon ( no nitrates) and my husband eats bacon so....I dunno. Not eating bacon didn't seem to do me any damn good.

    Cubbie,

When we bought our new house and renovated we installed Toto dual flush toilets since we have big drought issues in Ca... They work great! Also my oncologist at UCSF said that ven though they've found a couple of genetic links to bc.... There are likely a whole lot more they haven't found yet... So healthy living yeah.... But... There are a lot of people who have had bc with no genetic link....THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT!! Which means that probably a lot of us have as yet undiscovered genetic links.

    Slow,

Never give up your bacon toothpaste!!!

    Jack,

That rose is gorgeous... Hope you and your brother are having a great time together

    Anyway,

Hey there to any crazies I missed I was on HGTVs Garden Chatter show online tonight talking garden to table so now... Trying to relax.

Catch all of you tomorrow when I can catch up with everyone

Hi Blondie! I'm glad you posted so we know you are watching over us.

Slow, I don't swear much, but I think this BC crap warrants it! Swear away. I hope you get answers soon.

Eggroll, That is the best kind of news! So happy for you.

Oh man, I LOVE thick sliced peppered Bacon! I just cut up 1/2 pound and fried it crisp, and it's good to eat on EVERYthing!

My Grandparents LIVED on Bacon, and Grandma never had cancer! I saw that article Italy... We don't have to believe stuff like that.... Just look at the article, or listen so someone spout off like that, and then say "ARE YOU NUTS???"

Things just happen... then we deal with it... A lot of people who are marathon runners, famous athletes, and yes, Vegans ALL get cancer....

We don't eat much meat now, but we used to.... And Noodle-burgers are sooooo good! My Mom made them all the time with Hamburger.... and diced up celery, onion, then you add a can of diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce... Let simmer a few minutes, then throw it in a big bowl of cooked noodles! Then let it sit a couple minutes and serve.

I made it for my family also...We didn't have a lot of money... so we could do a LOT with a pound of Hamburger..... Or a can of Spam....

Or just a dinner of homemade bisquits and bacon gravy with mashed potatoes...

For me, getting cancer, MUST have been the chocolate-cokes I loved....! Or maybe the "noodle-burgers"??? Hah!

And who was it that had "their own TV in their room?" Damn! That means maybe 2 or 3 TV'S in the SAME HOUSE? That meant being "rich!" image We do now, but not back THEN!

Slow, you have WHAT? Did they just make that up? They DID.... I just know it! Quit going to that Rheumatologist.... They invented some new disease for you.... Yes, you can say crap.... or chit.... either one... Now watch me get banned.... Hah!

Eggroll? We have an eggroll? And you had 6 nodes removed! Now that calls for a DAMN girl! That's great news!

Oh now SEE Slow? Just as I thought! She re-canted! That brat! She just made that up... That Sigorney or what-ever it was!

Morning Blondie! You say "Lurking?" Did you run out of a word? You can be crazy with the rest of us... or just me, anyway...

Hah! Jackbirder thought the same thing! A "dignified" dance?? Don't those new twerk-tramps just drive you nuts? Pretty soon, they will show EVERYthing on TV... And SAY everything! Man, music is just not the same as it used to be.... And those music awards with all the downNdirty looks and attitudes, and those smirks and rap crap, just is NOT even worth listening to.... And the way those little tramp-tarts dress? Oh wait... This is for the "other" one like me...

morning crazies! wow, my brand new plumber guy timed it so he pulled up his truck just as I was coming down the stairs! I think I like this angies list thingie, I knew what the problem was, an old dry thingie in the tank but no way would I try to change it, last time I tried I ended up with water pouring down to the kitchen~~

Phantom flush is when the toilet flushes when you are not on the dang pot and in a completely different part of the house or even in bed! repair is a cheesy little rubber thingie and since it requires about 5 minutes tops, hard to get some one to come out for the repair.

I may need to celebrate with a bacon egg and cheese sandwich

    Medicating

Congrats to eggroll, join me in a lovely bacon egg and cheese sandwich!

yeah hate those self serving folks who ask what I did to get breast cancer~~one woman at my gym told me that since she is 62 and never been sick, she is past the age where she will get sick. Her reason for not having any health insurance.........well I did get my BC at 57

Caveat: I just clicked on and read Italychick's post and I am FUMING and SO with you.

The BLAME GAME- so infuriating and punishing and misogynistic. Of course we did this to ourselves! UGH and I also get triggered because the 'holistic' tree hugging world that I have been a part of also 'whispers' not so softly things like 'well I guess she didn't really do everything right'.

Trying so much to step away from reacting but it's a challenge. And funnily my man ( DF?) and were speaking about this yesterday, in relation to so many things- regarding me personally and how I am still very selective about who knows what's going on with me; and also the big picture of how we've all been hijacked by the media into believing that we could somehow have control if, 'only we behaved'. Talk about a rabbit hole.

It's also something I actually really tried to bring awareness to with my clients - basically cultivate your inner compass, because the media/gov/whomever is always going to swing from 'opinion to opinion' and that is for CRAZY MAKING.

Italy- I've posted my history here before but in response to your question: was vegetarian for 20 years -NEVER ATE SOY, with the exception of some miso. Started incorporating fish, then RED MEAT about 15 years ago. I make pretty much 98% of my food by hand. All the monikers: farm to table, LOCAL organic ( not big agro organic). I only eat animal products from people /sources I trust- this has been my way of life- and in fact grew up this way. I am probably the only person in NYC that does not have a take out menu or seamless or whatever. Have been a serious student and practitioner of the yoga and healing arts ( since before that all became' who is the next big rock star') for 35 years. Yes you read a lot of PRIDE around it- and also obvious anger that I or anyone is here because there is no rhyme or reason. so I'm here to say who the F can really claim to know anything.

I rant-ramble and I will give everything a more thorough read and calm down a bit before I proceed to offer a pleasant GOOD MORNING to all of you.

PS but I'm sure the NVC people will say my unresloved ANGER is the reason I 'got' BC.

I actually pondered a variation of this statement myself last night-

"Everything causes cancer," said Caroline Rourke, an energy policy analyst, also on her way out of the grocery. "Life causes cancer. Who cares what food does? Life is terminal, isn't it?"

I was wondering to myself, after 2 glasses of wine and a hot shower ( i'm sure those things also contributed to BC ), what is 'terminal illness' and said exactly this- 'we are terminal from the day we are born'.

so we might as well simply live and enjoy the best we can.

Rain when we meet let's get BLT's ( I've actually never had a BLT)

Chevy...it was me. We had a TV in all the bedrooms and even one in the kitchen.

    Eggroll...so very happy for you

I stopped eating bacon for some unknown reason after my recent diagnosis. Just the smell of it make me feel sick to my stomach......and I loved bacon. So I don't eat it now because of that and not because of all this crap about bacon and processed lunch meats. I guess I can't get a turkey sub at Subway for lunch today....unbelievable. I remember at one time they said fingernail polish caused cancer. Maybe that is how I got "it" or could it had been my ex-husband who would not give me a divorce and all the stress from that.

Hi Tomboy.....and all my other crazies.

Shorfi- not to be a downer but there is a petition going around to stop Sally Hansen, OPI, and several other makers of nail polish who use a chemical which is a known carcinogen. I always check my personal care products on ewg.org skindeep website. They are a nonprofit environmental group that evaluate over 60,0000 products. It's a useful tool. The link us below in blue if you want to check it out. Sorry the timing is bad, and this isn't about blame. Just being informed.

But Christine- yes. Your posts really resonated. All of the above posts. The blame game. Life itself causing cancer. The most productive thing I can offer this morning is an acronym for you and Tomboy. BMF. Thats what you can call him. And I am so glad you both have your BMF. (Boymanfriend)

Here is the synopsis of the recently released Duke University study on nail polish. There's a petition you can sign if you want. More usefully, if you google "ewg nail polish" you will find a link to some pages that rank nail polish in order of safety.

Hi virtual friends! So I just left work so I can get my 3D and US done. I'm on the W&W 6 month club, but we found some changes. Oh well, Sitting in my car listening to NFL radio (Go Panthers!) eating chicken salad and spicy noodles. Getting my game face "let's do this" face on. I have been lurking on this crazy town forum for a week or so because no matter what happens....You people are so awesome, cool and funny! Funny story for me I must share with you all, because it's crazy town! I've been a Birads 3 and last night of course I start thinking about the boobie squisher, I fall asleep and dream that I became a Birads 10! Lol I know it only goes to 5 but being the oldest of 3 daughters, I'm kind of an overachiever.

Just wanted to share and hope you got a snicker out of this!

Have a lovely day my virtual friends!

oh well, stopped using the nail polish years ago, nails are naked and the hair is naturally grey these days. Too lazy to keep up with that stuff

However I do believe my cancer was caused by my job in the printing industry, breathing all that shit sure caused my asthma and I did win a workman's comp case last year and got a small settlement. Lawyer wanted to include my BC in the suit but my Cancer was not bad enough to get anything out of it~~~

    off to lunch babes

    Good Morning Crazies,

    First things first.....

Ducky, We will all be in your pocket at your MO visit today. Hope the hip is nothing but some bruised muscles from the fall INTO the car!!

    image

Please let us know how it goes.

    EtherGirl, Welcome to our thread!

    image

Here is your CT kit consisting of a flashlight, mirror, magnifying glass and coconut oil. Use your tools wisely. Sending our combined best wishes for a B9 result! Please let us know how it goes when you can.

Gaia, I very much agree. We can drive ourselves to total madness obsessing about every little thing that can cause cancer. I look back at my PA Dutch Grandparents and they ate everything creamed, smoked and pickled. They both lived to a ripe old age with NO cancer. My Italian Grandmother ate all that Italian food and drank wine like it was going out of style. She also lived to a ripe old age with NO cancer.

PTS, I think the random flush would have freaked me out just a bit. haha I'm glad you were able to find someone to fix it.

Chevy, That same thought went through my mind too. "I may have WHAT?"I think you're right....I should just stop going to doctors!! They seem to come up with a new disease each time I go. Collector of Diseases should be my new title.

Poppy, Thanks...I hope I do too. Good to see you! My appointment time on the 11th is 10:30 am. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I've been busy collecting diseases. Let me know if that day will work for you, if not, we can do it another time. I'm sure it won't be the last time I'm up that way.

Tomboy, Welcome back!! Missed you posting here.

Sula, Very cool you being on one of my favorite channels - HGTV. Are we still able to see the show? If so, please let me know. I would love to watch it!!

Cubbie, hahahaha....yes, you're right!! Dogs follow me all the time!!

Shorfi, We had two TV's. One in our living room, and I had a very small black and white TV in my bedroom. I was a latch key kid, so the TV was my babysitter. I couldn't wait to get home to watch General Hospital when I was a kid!! I wanted to be Genie Francis with that long flowing blonde hair. I used to put a yellow towel on my head and pretend I had really long BLONDE hair. hahaha.....I was/am such a dork!!

When I went through chemo, I applied Sally Hansen's clear Hard as Nails EVERYDAY. I kept all my nails and had none that lifted. Just a very small faint line across my nails - hardly noticeable. I had no idea it was on the list of cancer causing products.

Ok Crazies....time to get something done. Going for blood work later today. Hope you all have a peaceful, pain free day.

    Love to all....quiet crazies too!!

Good luck today, Bep. Will be in your purse, anyway. And to you, Ducky.

Hi shorfi! Meant to tell you, that older boy is gonna have the girls chasing him! His eyes would haunt me, in a good way! Dreamy! Especially if he is as charming as you say!

Gaia and Jackbirdie, of course you are all welcome to use my made up word, 'boymanfriend'! I was just a little leery to have that word out in the general public, cause I wouldn't get any cred. It is being used in my imaginary book I am working on for years now, tentative title: The Butcher Papers: An 'Alibi'ography. Many other words like that in there, I have an elastic relationship with words! I made up that word, 'alibiography' too, and boy will I be pissed if somebody else publishes theirs before I do. More later! Morning, ALL!!! Where is my HUGGER!!!!

Tomboy- LMAO! Alibi-ography. You are hysterical!

I will send a note to the CT Press, official Keeper of Words, and see that your words are not used without permission. But I want an advance copy of that book!

I think you should do a serialized release on the Crazytown Press. A chapter a week!

I am a bit in CT today, having woken up from the most horrid nightmare. It was awful, and scary, and at the end I either refused to, or couldn't speak. Can you imagine a more horrible fate for moi? Analyze THAT!!!

Anyway, I had my coffee, and then a delicious cup of bone broth, which really seemed to center me. I was asked to take one last stand in October, and write an op-Ed piece on the dastardly Look Good Kill You program, run by the ACS. I sent it off this morning. Of course, I'll keep you all posted.

Well....met my new BS today...you might remember me telling you mine retired back in November........

Well I love this new woman....young bubbly.......took her time answered all ;my questions, and told me for me to stay on the "devil pill" for the extra year, or 10 years if they change and give me 5 more it would only give me a 2% chance of no recurrence anyway.....I was floored......she is also from Fox Chase Cancer Center one of the best cancer centers in the country.....so she has been well schooled.......she did make me feel better about the entire "going off med" idea.........

Thorough breast exam .....checked my LE arm and also my back...told her I still had no feeling in the right side of my boob or toward my armpit..............she said "most don't"...........sometimes it never comes back............she was so honest with me.........no bullshit.....no excuses........shoots from the hip which is what I like......complete honesty...............said since it was the first time she saw me she took myentire folder home with her last night and read it all.......said she wanted to "know me before she met me"..............and I was shocked she knew things only my other Dr. knew, so I know she was telling the truth..........my entire history and case.........her and I are going to get along tremendously............

She said "I will see you next year"......then said........"Unless you have something bothering you, any questions, something doesn't feel right......just call, and I will see you...............Now the thing I noticed.......she is going to have a baby in 6 weeks, so I thought....Lord how old are you lady.....LOL....but was so tiny I was not sure if she was even pregnant, but then smiled and said "are you expecting"..........thank God she was........LOL

Oh and she even said "you went through all that radiation without incident (38 treatments), and your skin and breast tissue did not suffer at all.....so she even knew that.........really like her..........

One question though, weren't you seeing your MO today?? Did I dream that?? I may have to hang up my spreadsheet if I can't keep things straight! haha

Katy, I'm not very good at dream interpretation but....maybe you feel like your voice isn't being heard. Maybe it's tied to the advocacy?? I think we may need a backup dream interpreter just for you. Unless you can interpret your own dreams??? Can't wait to read your op-Ed piece.
