Hi Crazies--
Afternoon already. Spent a good chunk of today doing some heavy lifting on that which has been sending me to the heart of C-town: our disappearing insurance. Since our company (an ACA co-op) is folding at the end of the year, I've been searching for a replacement that will let me keep 1. my hospital and doctors 2. the treatment regimen I'm on. I've been making calls and finding enormous discrepancies between what the hospital is telling me about available plans and what the insurance companies are saying. At last today, a log jam broke, and it seems that there may be some plans available soon on the ACA exchanges in my state. It's not in place now but may be in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed (you should see me trying to type that way).
Meanwhile, gearing up to start rads. Fun times!
Proud, I think I've figured out everything. See, we have this printer that randomly decides to wake up and spin its gears in the middle of the night or at other times. Nobody's telling it anything; it just starts whirring and spinning and dancing to generate attention. See, I think the gremlin in your toilet and the one in my printer are part of a large unruly family that basically exist to keep all of us off-balance. Has anyone else had this problem in the home? Time for an exorcism? Or should we just learn to live with it?
OK, that's enough crazy for now. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon!

hmmm rainy, you may be right on the phantom machines starting up on their own, did not know by chasing the ghost from my toilet that it would affect your printer. Then again, the only thing that messes me up more than toilets is computers and printers
It is Holloween so maybe the ghosts are playing games with both of us, I do have bags of candy, wonder if we can bribe the ghost?

Tomboy...my grandson is such a humble and sweet kid. He is 7 years old and he told me the other day that he hate girls....they are always punching him during recess. He says that he always have to run from them. I tried to explain to him that when a girl punches it means she likes you. He said, and I quote..."Mimi that is so crazy." Yea, he calls me Mimi instead of Grandmom...lol. His sister has beautiful eyes also...green and sometimes they turn gray.
Ducky...I like the sound of your new MO. I have no feeling in my right armpit either and my MO told me the same thing....that the feeling may never come back. Glad you have someone you are comfortable with.
Proud...Laser Spine finally called today after I followed-up with another phone call. Now they will check my insurance to see what they will cover. I explained to her that I didn't want any surprise bills coming my way and I wanted her to explain how they do their billing. Since they are an out-of-network provider she asked me would I be comfortable paying any expenses that my insurance would not cover. I asked her for instance.......she said about $1000. I said I could do that, and in a nanosecond she asked what about $4500-8000. I immediately said no. She assured me she would go over my insurance coverage and will get back to me in a couple of days. Honestly, I am not interested. I'm sure they do fine work there, but I didn't feel comfortable at all talking with her. So I will just wait to see my pain doc on 11/3 and see if I can do something here where I work and my insurance is accepted.
Ducky...Hi and hope you are having a good visit with your brother.
Sula...That is funny our parents watched the same shows. My dad was a character. We would watch Combat and when the German soldiers would speak, we would ask my father what they were saying and he always translated for us. Little did we know that he just made up stuff and had no clue what they were saying. The good old days..........
Slow...hoping your blood work turns out great.

PTS, I have a two story home and I swear that I hear footsteps in the upper floor at times. It's not just me either, my dogs ears move to the sound. My DH says it's the house creaking. Creaking and footsteps don't sound the same to me!!
0 -
I think finding a spine person closer to home seems somehow more reassuring to me, good luck. What hospitals are you close to? Maybe picking a close hospital and researching their docs would be better? I have done that at times on other docs.
Slow...I used to be a member of a old historic church in NYC and some of us started a yoga meeting on Sat. Try doing yoga breathing in 200 plus year old church with all the creakies. We swore we heard old Peter Stuyvesent walking around some mornings

OMD you guys are scaring me.... Footsteps? I hear things "fall" sometimes, and it isn't me.... But without my hearing aids, chances are, I could be in the middle of a storm, or explosion, and I wouldn't know unless I saw it...
I feel so bad.... or sad.... I met our new neighbor gal 2 days ago, and I saw her shadow , when I was in-between our houses, and I kept yelling "Hello...Hello!" But nothing! Then I walked to the back, and she was sweeping her patio... and right away she smiled, and I realized she was deaf.. Or "hearing impaired".... I motioned that I would sweep all the side of our houses, and she said "okay"...but I know they are only 54... Her Husband had said that, when I met him earlier.... So maybe I'll "pick-up" easier ways to communicate with her.... They are younger than my Daughter's..... But she got in her car and drove away..... I thought that was amazing... !
Good news Ducky! Glad you are getting checked out.... We don't need things wrong with us....

Slow.....2 things....down the shore house I would be sitting down stairs in the living room, and my bedroom was directly above the LR......now if someone was up there and they walked you could lightly hear the footsteps even though it was carpeted............now.....there was also times when I would be sitting in the LR, and everyone was downstairs in view or right outside where I could see them.....and I would hear those damn footsteps above me.........and I tell you it was not creaking floor boards......it was the same sound I would hear if someone was in that bedroom moving around..........I swear it was my husband.....s;aying "I'm still here"........
Second....I made a mistake my MO is next week......BS today.......and CArdio last week.........so your doing fine............I have a huge calendar hanging with all the dates...........even with that I have my head up my ass with remembering......LOL......glad you do....hahahaha.
So today was my new BS.............I swear this chick is a under 40........0 -
Rain, What a headache that must be for you. I hope you can find something that covers your current doctors. Just doesn't seem right that you should have to go through this on top of everything else.
Shorfi, Thank you for the good wishes.
WOW. I wonder what laser spine lady would have said if you said you couldn't afford anything out of pocket? That just seems a bit shady to me.Chevy, YES! Footsteps. It freaks me out every time.
It's always fun to get new neighbors. Unless you REALLY loved the old ones....in which case, maybe not AS fun.PTS, Scary stuff!! There is an old grain mill not too far from my house that was on a TV show called Most Haunted Destinations. Many have said they hear train whistles and see a young girl. It was rated 7th most haunted destinations on that show. One day when I'm over there, I will take a picture and post it.

I know Ducky!! I always say it's my mom or dad making their presence known. But honestly, I am a bit spooked out at times when I'm alone.
I'm glad I'm not losing my mind this week!! haha0 -
You be careful by that ol grain mill!!!

Look good, kill you program!!! You are too funny, katy!!

Ducky, last year at one point my MO went out on maternity leave. she already had 4 little ones and was wearing a photo on a string around her neck that showed all her kids. She is tall and slender and in no way looks old enough to have graduated med school and somehow ended up being on prego #5. I think some of these docs just have found the old fountain of youth
OK so tomorrow we are expected rain and my poor body is already starting to cry pain~~

Oh, I am right about the gremlins. When my DS was between 18 months and 2, not long after we moved to this apartment (building dates from reconstruction era), he would talk in that garbled toddler way about Mr. Bannerman. We thought it was funny, but one day my DS was in a real estate office where there was a book of historic title deeds for our nabe. Guess what the name of one of the building owners from way back was?
And our upstairs neighbor swore she felt a presence in the hallway when she got up in the middle of the night.
Me, I just wanted to explain why the @#*)$*&%# talking toys would start verbalizing at 3:00 AM!
And yes, I would very much like to keep my current crew of docs!
And a beautiful evening to all! (Yes, today IS international we-start-sentences-with-conjunctions day!)

Ok this is really weird.....My oldest daughters son told her one morning a very pretty lady came to talk to him last night while he was asleep...he had fallen off his bike and ended up in the ER with a horrible ripped up face down to the fat in his cheek, and broke his arm............his face looked awful, and the Dr. said he might need plastic surgery once they were sure there was no infection from all the debris that was in his face............
So he tells my daughter that this woman told him he was going to be ok, and not to worry, and he would not need plastic surgery...............my daughter said "who was the lady".....he said "I never saw her before but she was very pretty"....he was about 12 years old at the time............well he did heal, and went to the plastic surgeon who said "we should do some work on his face"........he told the Dr.......'no, I don't need to do anything the pretty lady that came to see me said I would be fine...................
Well at xmas my daughter had a collage made.....the pictures were of my father, mother, great grandmother etc.........she had taken the pictures from my house to have them copied.....(without me knowing).....................she made a copy for me, and her 5 brothers and sisters.................and put them all in this collage.......
On xmas day my daughter gave me the gift to open at her house, and my grandson was there with us.........when he saw the picture he said to his mother "Mom, there is the pretty lady".......She said Joey what are you talking about what lady..........he said the lady who came to see me that night in my room"........that is her........................
It was my Mother who died in 1984....Joey was born in 1987.......and in the picture he saw that I had my Mother was 23 years old........he never saw her, or met her...and that picture was in a plastic bag with a bunch of other pictures put away in a box.....no one ever saw that picture............Talk about spooky........this is her and the picture he saw of the pretty lady...........my mother at 23............

My younger brother talked about "the pretty lady" that came to visit him a couple of days before he died. I asked if her name was Alyce. He nodded. Knowingly. Our mother.
Kathy- my goodness ! I've posted the recipe twice. Seriously! Maybe the goblins got it! I'll pm it to you.
If the link doesn't work let me know and I'll type it out for you, ok? There's a video, too.

At my house, odd noises always mean rodents, no matter how much I wish for haunting instead. Especially at 3:00AM, when I hear that scratching noise in the wall. I'll be there with my pillow over my head, thinking "Please let this house be haunted" but instead it's always time to get out the traps and deal with the mice/chipmunks/tree squirrels that have invaded this time.
Beppy, I can give you the opposite example. My grandparents never drank or smoked, and they lived on the farm and grew their own food, getting plenty of exercise in the process. And Grandma still got breast cancer. If it was as simple as just what we eat, doctors would know exactly what to recommend, and we'd be preventing this disease.
Glad to hear about your good checkup, ducky. I also had a relative at the doctor today, we got some good news, nothing serious. Now I can get back to worrying about me!
Rainny, that's good news you've got a lead on a new insurance company. I can't imagine trying to change plans in the middle of treatment. It's stressful enough already. I have a printer that does stuff by itself in the middle of the night, too, if it is left on. I think it's keeping the ink cartridge primed and ready to go, but I've never bothered to look up what it is up to in the manual. Definitely wakes me up when it starts clunking.
ducky, your mother was a very pretty lady. There's actually something sort of comforting about her watching over her great-grandson.

Oh, and Ethergirl, welcome and come worry with us! Hope you just have something benign, but while you are waiting, you have good company here.

Wow I pause for a day and CT is WILD!
There has been a revolutionary remembering of ice boxes, roller washers and the invention of plastic....
Bacon gluttony and, thank god, a lot of twerking and happy dances to burn it off and cxl out more BC.
And lots of Halloween goblins- creepy and familiar encounters Rain, Katy & Ducky. I had lot's of those encounters as a young one and a few intense dream encounters before and since DX.
cubbie ' please let this house be haunted' had me cracking up. I grew up in the country so I know what you are talking about ( I'm sure ducky and chevy will too)
Ducky happy for your good meeting with new BS
Eggroll yay for B9
Slow ugh re collecting new 'things'. But you always manage to extend your heart to everyone here- you are so loved.
Tom you are a word-crafter.
Katy I am sorry you had such a dream- fright last night. wishing you a more peaceful slumber tonight,
Rain I hope some insurance answers become clearer and err in your favor soon.
PTS keep your but warm and hope you keep the positive progress with your back. Glad your toilet goblins resolved.
Shorfi again your grandkids are so beautiful and no new plans on wedding- but taking a trip to RI to scout some places/get inspiration in two weeks. I am sorry getting a plan in place for your back has been taking so long.
Octo hope you are having a delightful time by the sea.
Sula- you do post some awesomely whacky visuals- hope you are feeling great
I am wiped out from nothing much today and so I am saying goodnight to all.....
and more later loves
PS HAPPY FULL SUPER MOON for 2015- the last one for 2015 and we have had an epic 6 this year

Good Evening Crazies,
Rain, That story is REALLY spooky.!! I've also had speaking toys in the middle of the night. We used to keep them in the downstairs closet when we had young ones visiting. Occasionally we could hear them from upstairs. There are NO grammar rules in Crazy Town!! hahaha
Katy, That lemon bar recipe is in high demand! It really did look delicious. My DH loves lemon anything.
Chevy, I try very hard not to leave my participle dangling. It can be very embarrassing.
Ducky, You're story was spooky too, but at the same time very comforting!! I get goose bumps when I read stories like that one. I feel like our loved ones look out for us. May be wishful thinking on my part, but I feel like my parents are around me. Your mom is so pretty.
Cubbie, I'm fortunate that my cat and two dogs keep the rodents away. When we first moved to this house, we always found rodent droppings in our garage. After we got Chloe the cat, no more droppings. I really do agree about the food. I wish it could be as simple as eliminating certain foods from our diets. I'm sure we would all do it immediately. I'm glad your relative had good medical news today!! We need to celebrate all good news in Crazy Town. I think the printer noise is normal, but if it starts printing out messages that's another story!!
Gaia, You have such a good heart. I'm glad you chose us to be your BCO family. Crazy Town is a better place with you here.
Octo, Thinking about you and the fun, relaxing time you must be having with your DH.
Lucy, Where are you dear friend??? I really do miss your humor when you're not around. You ALWAYS laugh at my REALLY dumb jokes!! Whatever you're doing, I hope it's FUN!!
M0mmy, Where is our hugger???? I'm getting a bit worried about you. Not like you to not check in for so long. Thinking of you!!
Sula, I hate when that happens!! I never use the BCO box to compose my post. I've lost too many that way. I compose in Word and cut & paste. Unless it's a short post....Yeah right...who am I kidding?? My posts are almost always long!! haha I just hate when they turn off the electricity and I have to reset all my clocks!
I just want to say how much I appreciate each and every person that visits us in Crazy Town. We all go through so much with diagnosis, treatment and navigating the aftermath. It is my hope that everyone that posts here feels a part of this special thread we've ALL created. I'm just so grateful for all of you.
Sleep well beautiful crazies!!

Good morning crazies....

wow, love the photo of the beach, makes me want to get in my car and head out to the coast and see the sand live! Course think I heard this morning that it is the 3 year anniversary of the Sandy storm, or maybe that was yesterday, anyhow Sandy hit dead on just down the street from me so it sure was a nasty week.
Rain, on trying to get your insurance worked out, I only went on medicare about 18 months ago but my way of figuring it all out was to get info from every insurance company I ever heard of....I was sent into requested things on the internet for the entire year before my date. I started getting tons of phone calls and stuff in the mail. One sales guy in particular called me about 6 months before my date to signup. He started answering all the questions I had had for a long time. So I ended up with him and felt comfortable with my choice. Some times pesky sales guys can be helpful. Then again, I am a retired pesky sales person myself!
oh well, gonna try some gym this morning, later all, could some one leave some lemon bars for me when I return?

I lucked out with my shore house during Sandy...........the Bay came right up the street, but stopped before it hit where my house sits..............got a break........0

Short fi
Does that say "crazy town?"

Shorfi-it looks lovely. Thinking of you. I had to take a second look at the message in the sand. Should I send lemon bars
Rainny- sending insurance mojo to you. What a hassle. Stay on them like stink on u know what to resolve those verbal discrepancies
Iris- shoving a lemon bar into the pneumatic tube for you.
Good morning everybody, quiet readers too. Bep, I'm worried about our hugger mommy too. Hugs going out to her.

Lol...we always go to Ocean City, Maryland during the Xmas holidays. It is absolutely beautiful. I was taking pictures of kids on their sand bikes.
Katy...I would love a lemon bar right about now.
Ducky...we were cruising during Sandy to Bermuda.
Proud...talked to hubby about that place and he agrees with you...they sound shady. I'm researching docs at Jefferson Hospital where they do the same thing. I'm in no hurry, but the woman on the phone wanted me to commit before the new year starts. They emailed explanations on what could be wrong and possible surgeries that they recommend. Too eager for me. I responded to the email and said that I'm not interested in pursuing surgery at this time.
Took day off from work to spend time with hubby. He made a beautiful breakfast and we are just relaxing watching movies. He works at night. When I came home from work beautiful roses were there. Funny thing is....I'm like Al's wife....I really don't care for flowers, but I would never tell him that.

shorfi, good luck and your local place for the surgery sounds better
I find new docs lately by asking folks at my gym~ got a great derma from my pals,, figured 4dif folks said they used a particular doc and liked them that works for me
I do like to use the internet to research the docs
