Gaia, great to see you again - I was about to ask if anyone had heard from you. I hope you can spend time with us again soon.
Iris, do you have someone to shovel your snow for you, or do you do it yourself? That's been one of the things that's been difficult this winter for me, I usually do all my own snow shoveling, and yet I'm supposed to be taking it easy.
I have an appointment with my MO this afternoon to get the results of my latest bloodwork, next Lupron shot, and see what else he wants to do next.

Just a suggestion.......anyone suffering from the back up because of AI's or Tamo.........try first thing in the morning............juice of 1/2 lemon.......In a6 ounces of better then "warm water".............followed by a glass of cold water..............yes it is not as good as your first cup of coffee or hot tea............but trust me.........it works........do this everyday.....................plus it's good for you.

cubbie, i live in a townhouse development and the snow stuff is covered in our monthly maintenance. So lucky that they do a good job and the rule is that plows are out soon as 2 inches of snow. I am responsible for my car being dig out but have really great neighbors that helped me out this year.

I am so lucky..........one of my sons who owns his own company and several properties sends his people who shovel and plow his businesses to my house to do my walk and driveway...........he is so good to me.........even went to his house for 4 days during our snow storm..he thought my heat and elect might go out....had a great time...........spent super bowl Sunday with and his family.......breakfast, lunch, dinner, great snacks for the game and a great guest room too...............delivered to my front door Monday morning.......................he's a gem.......0

I'm so glad you had a nice time Ducky. You were overdue for it. Hugs.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome time, Ducky.
Iris, glad you aren't shoveling your own snow. I used to live in a condo like that, only we had garages, so I didn't even have to clean off my car.
Doctor's visit went fine, we are continuing the Lupron and I see him again in two months to see if my estrogen levels are down enough to start the AI.

Cubbie, Katy..........it was a good time............love the company, and I came home with fresh Tangerine juice from the Farmers Market, homemade Irish potatoes, Goldbergs Peanut chews, and a 1/2 of an iced Apple CAke.......that my DIL bought for me the day before when she went to the FM........my son cooked breakfast for us which was pepper, onion, and cheese omelet with home fries, and rye toast......and hot Cinammon buns with coffee as a follow-up.........I could get very fat going there..............Oh sorry I mean fatter........LOL....0

Gaia/Gogo/Christine, welcome back!!!!!! SO happy you are here.
Cubbie, very glad the dr. visit went well!
Eggrolll, nothin' to say except I went through that swing cycle at various points on chemo. Patience, fiber, rice cakes as needed. Hope it resolves.
Proud, so nice to have a cutie! And to have someone else doing the shoveling. What more could one want?
Ducky, your family continues to amaze me. You seem to have a such a good time when you're together!
Hi to all you other crazies..... Nothing remarkable going on this minute, just trying to wind up work and school so we can go on the road for a couple of days next week and tour some colleges!
Actually, nothing remarkable is a small miracle in itself. Wishing every one of you the same!

Does anyone know what kind of bread Oprah eats every day and loses weight? I need to lose about xx pounds before the SoCal crazy meeting.
0 -
Probably WW bread.............it has 40 calories in a slice instead of 80............Trust me this chick is not eating.........crusty Italian bread or rolls...................it's about a thick as "rye thins".............that is why it's only 40 calories.........
0 -
yeah, sort of think my bread cravings might not be fulfilled on ww bread, i like interesting bread
Back from seminar given by the chiro center were i have been going. Subject was arthritis and treatment options. Did learn stuff, gonna talk to one of them about supplements they offer. Some are supposed to help with inflamation. Likely expensive but worth exploring
Snow ........again

I don't think of bread as a diet food, but in moderation it's fine and tastes good. This time of year I'm baking a couple of loaves a week, sometimes three, for the three of us. But I don't think slices of any "real" bread are 40 calories!
0 -
agree.......I did WW at one or more times in my life........I recall when I heard you could make a sandwich with 2 slices of their bread and use 2 oz. of RB, tomatoes, lettuce, pickle, and a dab of FF. mayonnaise.................I thought WOW.............ok, here was the result.
The bread fell apart it was so thin, and I continued eating my sandwich with a fork..........so much for the WW bread...........LOL.........
Then when they told us back then we had to eat "liver" once a week, I asked.............so does liverwurst count...............I got booed...............LOL............
So enjoy your real bread...........trust me it isn't bread that made us fat........hugs.0 -
So, did you know Octos can do happy dances...yes, that is me...had my one month post-end-of-rads apt with RO today. He wished me a good life, told to call if I had problems but that MO would be the following me (which of course I knew...but RO was very sweet, as always) But here's the BEST part: he checked out my skin (which is almost healed but there are a few spots where it is still obvious that it peeled rather badly..)..I asked when I could start swimming again. Answer: 'Today, if you want.'
WOOHOO!!!! Guess who is jumping in a pool tomorrow first thing! (seriously, heading to the gym tomorrow to swim).
Next MO apt is Thursday, hope that one goes well too.
Ducky, glad you had a good Super Bowl Sunday...and Cubbie, glad you had a good MO apt yourself!
Hugs to all from happy-soon-to-get-wet-again-Octogirl...

Thanks, Katy! I am an octo after all, I need water.... between surgery, chemo and rads, and with docs telling me not to go near pools or hot tubs because of the risks of infection, I went without jumping in since JULY (other than that one time at New Year's, but that was in a drysuit so I didn't even get wet!) ... and it was making me CRAZY...
oh yeah, I forgot, being Crazy isn't all bad...it means I get to hang out in Crazy Town....still, will be really happy to get back in the water for real.
Hugs all

Octo, woot! Back in the water!
Yes, that is the secret to 40 calorie bread - it's half as thick. I'd rather eat less of something with some substance. Reminds me of when my Dad bought the salt substitute. It was like sand. He said he'd just use less salt.

duckyb, it sounds like you have a wonderful son and DIL. What a boost to your spirits. Octogirl, Hooray for water!! I am exhausted and sad. Just not a good time for us right now. Not horrible but difficult all the same. Night crazies. I really look forward to meeting in person.

Ducky, Lucy and Smurfette, thank you for the affirmation what is going on with my body! I will try that morning remedy. I think pretty clear that is definitely IS the Tamoxifen.
Yeah, when you guys figure out a good way to lose weight let me know. Seems like there are so many diets where all you eat is just one food... cabbage soup or grapefruit or whatever. I think we should try just eating bread until we are sick of it then switch to vegetables from there... well I can dream.

Octo!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun!
I found the Taxol diet rather effective for a while last summer. Sad to say.
((((((((Molly)))))) Sorry--no words really.

Thank you, rainny. Eggroll, I gained 6 lbs within 4 months of starting on Anastrozole. All in my mid section and am losing muscle mass in my legs. It's the lack of hormones I guess. I am working on increasing my activity and decreasing my food intake. It's very frustrating.

Received this from my DIL.....this is my sons backyard after last nights snow fall..........so serene, disturbed by nothing...........

I've gained weight also, although most of the weight gain came during chemo, not from Arimidex. Not my fault that mashed potatoes and ice cream were the only foods that tasted decent to me... :-(
Molly, sending hugs. I am sorry it is hard. Looking forward to seeing you also!!
Which is a good reminder: if you think you might want to join us late March for a CrazyTown Southern California get-together, send me a pm with your email address and I will send you a link to a doodle poll and more info! Do it soon, even if you are just considering it, as we will likely pick a date this weekend!

Proudtospin! Thanks for the laugh! "Interesting bread" indeed! I love me some too!

octo, glad you got clearance for the pool, i remember the pool withdrawal time as well so will do some splashing for you
One of the women at the gym told me she was having kidney stones removed tomorrow, . Apparently she gets them lots
I told her she was in crazy town for tonight, her smile told me it helped her nerves
Yeah, bread is good but needs to be worth while

Fresh, warm bakery bread is worth every calorie.
