    Good Evening Crazies!!

Wow Mods....Thanks for the link. I haven't seen that picture in a REALLY long time. My hair has gotten longer and my body has gotten FATTER!! Thanks for the memory. haha

Rainy, I wish you could do a west coast swing too!! Send your kid my way. We will keep an eye on him. My DD always tells me we were way too strict. I don't think she's over that yet - she will be 28 in Aug. haha I can smell your bread from here. Any chance of putting some through the tube??

Octo, Hopefully Gabe will like the blow dry and shampoo better than my dogs do. GREAT NEWS!! I'm so glad you're able to swim again <handing you a towel>. We will all be in your pocket for your MO appointment tomorrow!!

Katy, Hope you had a good day. Thinking of you!!

Eggroll, So glad you checked in!! Slow moving innards are so terribly uncomfortable. I hope the MO will get it figured out for you.

Smurfette, Do you do quilting too??? If so, I'd love to see a picture!!

Sewingnut, Nice to see you. Do you just sew or do you quilt also?? I'd love to see your pictures too!

Lucy, I think I would enjoy mowing the lawn if I had one of those big riding mowers!! Hope DH is feeling better!!

Cubbie, Happy to hear your back is feeling better. Can you find a kid in the neighborhood to shovel your snow?? Thanks for letting us know about your MO visit. Sending the estrogen level dropping vibe your way!!

Gaia!! Welcome back!! It's really great to see you post again. Don't worry about engaging personally. You just rest up and feel better!! Even when you don't post, we still feel your presence. Gentle hugs to you!

Iris, So let me get this straight. Your cutie is talking about waking your butt cheeks up??? Hmmmmmmmm. I just don't even know what to say!! haha

Ducky, I'm really happy your son is taking such good care of his mom. It sounds like you had a wonderful time at his home!! You deserve to be well taken care of!! All those items from the farmer's market are making me hungry. That snow picture is beautiful.

Tomboy, Good to see you posting!! :)

JAN, That's a good question about the bread!! I need to lose weight before our meeting too. Do you think 50 pounds in six weeks is an unrealistic goal???? hahahaha

Sula, You've been quiet. I hope all is well with you. I know you weren't feeling too well the last time you checked in. Thinking of you!!

Molly, I look forward to meeting you in person too!! Hugs to you. I hope each day gets a bit easier.
As far as losing weight, I know of a really good, free website where you can log your food and exercise. I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post the link here. You can PM me if you'd like the link. I've been doing this for a week and I've already lost 5 pounds. Only 50 more to go!! <said in my most optimistic tone I can muster>

QM, You've been a bit quiet lately. You doing ok??? Busy eating those watercress sandwiches???

Poppy, How are you doing?? Did marching band season wrap up? I seem to recall concert season started right after Christmas break?? I really miss those days.

M0mmy, How did your speech go?????

    Shorfi, Waving to you!!

PMR53, I had you down for a port removal tomorrow. If you're still reading, we will be in your pocket. Hope all goes well for you!!

    Jersey, How are you doing??

Italychick, Isn't that the only way to eat bread??? I can feel the butter jumping on my hips as I type. My guilty pleasure is the yellow cake that comes in the BOX with the stick of butter. Cover your eyes Sula.

Had my MO appointment this past week. He found some swollen nodes in my neck (DUH) and wants me to have another CT scan. This time they are doing my head, chest, abdomen and I just found out today they are doing my pelvic area. I will be having the scan on Monday. I don't recall ever having the lower half of me scanned.

Hope you're all having a good week so far. I saw this and it reminded me of you all. I'm not sure what I'd do without my group of crazies!!

Slow, hopefully the scan is just your MO being super careful with you. I will be praying and thinking positive thoughts for you!! I love that picture! I may steal it :) Octogirl, let us know how your MO appointment goes. Italychick, mmmm butter. Bread and butter are big problems for me lol. I hope everyone is doing well.

SlowDeep, I'm ok... Sorry, I've been lurking... Rads is going fine, did #19 of 30 today, and have a SIM tomorrow for the boosts. I've just not been feeling myself. I've been hanging out on the edge of CT, watching the sunsets, and sunrises for a branch in an old tree. Physically I feel good, I'm just really having trouble with the whole Tamoxifen thing... My onc rather bullied me the last time I was in, and I see her again on the 22nd. I've not wanted to do chemo, BMX, or rads, but felt at peace with doing them. For me, I've never felt at peace with Tamoxifen and I don't want to take it. I'm scheduled to see an integrative onc at MD Anderson on the 29th, so we'll see. I guess I'm just exhausted from the constant running of rads, and the anxiety of this hormonal drug issue.

Thanks for shouting out and checking on me... I'll be back out here more, with more to say, soon.... for now just hanging out and sipping my cafe mocha valium latte with ativan sprinkles....

Hugs to all of you beautiful, audacious, crazies!

JerseyGirl: is there something specific that's worrying you about Tamoxifen?

SlowDeep: Also crossing my fingers that your onc is just being cautious.

It's been pleasantly quiet for me the past couple of weeks. Planning another anti-crazy trip to Chicago for DH's birthday and one of his favorite operas, Der Rosenkavalier. Recovering from a *mild* skin infection for which I'm taking non-cillin antibiotics. But dodged the bullet of hospitalization this time, for which my husband, my insurance company and all the nurses at the hospital are profoundly glad.

SlowDeep: also hope that MO is just being cautious.

MO apt for me today wasn't so great. Well, I shouldn't say that: it was good in the sense that I got what I needed most out of the apt, but his bedside manner today left a lot to be desired and pissed me off even more than I was already pissed off (and I was very pissed off to begin with.) Stupid F()&(&^ Breast Cancer. Which is a long story that only the Crazies could relate to but I don't have the energy to relate it right now. Maybe later. For now I am on the porch, off by myself, nursing an extra large glass of wine with Ativan sprinkles (I know, I know. A joint would probably be better for me). Sigh. Even when things are good, they suck.

    Love you all though.

Quilting is not really my forte SlowDeepBreaths. Made some cushion covers years ago but have never attempted a quilt. It is a beautiful craft tough.

Thinking of you, Jersey and Octo, and sorry you're having MO issues. I don't know if the skill set that gets folks into medical school necessarily matches the social skills that help us feel cared for. Sometimes they do, but not always.

Now I'm envisioning ativan sprinkles that are the size of those bridge candies my grandmother always had in dishes and just as colorful.

Took DS to an orthopedist today to check out what has turned out to be mild scoliosis (memo to future generations: don't grow five inches in one year, okay?). Being that it was a teaching hospital, there were plenty of residents around. I was mildly amused that every one had a neatly trimmed hipster beard, slightly too short, tight pants, and colorful socks. It's a look, I guess.

Slow, I'm always ready to send bread through the tubes. Here's the cornbread I made yesterday. I hope it's okay it's just leftovers; I'm not going to bake real bread until the weekend. Just heat it up in the oven for a few minutes, and it will taste fresh. There was plenty of butter in the recipe, now that I think, but you can always add more.

Katy, yes the different colors are different strengths... think the white = 1mg, pink = 3mg, and black, well that strength is only for extraordinary circumstances...

Thanks for the extra hugs Crazies!

Wanted to also thank those of you who have responded about your availability for a SoCal Crazies get together. I will be going over the poll results this weekend, then will consult with our Mayor, and we will move forward with plans (and of course let you know dates and details and all of that!)...so...if you are interested, and haven't responded to the poll about your availability in March yet, it isn't too late: send your email to me via PM before Saturday and I will send you a link to the poll...

Hugs back to all of you

    Octogirl

Katy, that guy is adorable! His fur makes me think of a rich chocolate. He definitely needs a clever name!

Slow, we'll be in your pocket for your scan. It seems like you just had everything possible scanned a few weeks ago! I agree with Queenie, I'm hoping this is just your MO being overly cautious.

    Good Evening Crazies,

Molly, Thank you for the good thoughts! Steal away!!

Jersey, No need to ever be sorry for taking a break. I was just checking on you. Rads can be exhausting physically and emotionally. I'm glad you're seeing another MO. Hopefully you can talk to him/her about how you're feeling. Hang in there!!

QM!! Nice to see you. Another trip to Chicago sounds like a lot of fun. My DH and I haven't been anywhere since I've been diagnosed. Add me to that list of being glad you dodged that bullet. Thanks for the good wishes.

Octo, I'll be honest....I'm not really worried about the CT scan. Whatever is meant to be, will be. I'm tired of the time I'm losing thinking about it all. I just want to get on with life. I'm sorry you had a bad day with your MO. Bedside manners should be a required course in medical school. I'll join you in a glass of wine and ativan sprinkles - no PINK for me though. I've had enough pink to last me a lifetime.

Smurf, Knowing the price of chair cushions, making them is a good skill to have.

Rainy, WOW....five inches in one year?? That is a lot of growing!! The cornbread looks amazing. Popping it in the microwave as I type!!

Katy, He does look like a Mr. Moose!! Maybe one day Moose,Gabe and my sick bear will Skype together. haha

Cubbie, I agree. I'm sure I'm glowing by now. Thank you for the good wishes!

I've got to tell you all a quick story. My DH and I went to Barons Market a few days ago. It's a new store that just opened nearby. The next day my DH got home from work before I got home from my MO appointment. We were chatting on the phone. This was our conversation:

Him: Where did those kiwi fruit come from?
    Me: What kiwi fruit?
Him: The kiwi fruit in the fruit bowl.
Me: I was just in the bowl this morning, I didn't see kiwi fruit.
Him: Me too - I took a banana to work and I didn't see kiwi fruit.
Me: We didn't buy any at the store. We just bought avocados.
Him: I'm standing here staring at them right now. Two of them.
Me: Are you messing with me?
Him: I'm telling you, there are two kiwi fruit in our fruit bowl.
Me: I put the groceries away and I didn't see kiwi fruit.
    Him: I'm not eating them!
Me: Well I'm not eating them either!!

The case of the mysterious kiwi fruit. Are wo BOTH losing our minds??? Very strange indeed.

Sleepy time for me. Love to all...quiet crazies too!!
