Cubbie, yes, he had a stroke in December and told us he went through testing and the doctors put him on blood pressure medication and said everything else looked good. I guess we will never know. I didn't think he looked good at Christmas, he was emotional and he hugged me a million times.

A piece of me, my younger years, went with him

Gma, I'm glad you came to C~town! There's a great buncha women here!

That thumb thing? I have it too! cancer side, which luckily is on my right and I am left~handed, i can't imagine trying to wrap my LE arm with my dope right hand. It's got to be cancer.

I am hoping I get up early enough for lunch! I have been having a heck of a time letting myself sleep lately, makes it hard to get up early. But my man helped me wash my car and will be using nagivation (her name is faith, and thats what we call navigation with a voice) to find Beppy and Poppy!!! I must wash my hair tonight, and can I tell the story again, Beppy about what we did the first time we met?

Apparently, the day before, we both felt the need to do a pedicure. And so we laughed about "what, did we think we were gonna show each other our feet?"... Which then, of course we HAD to show each other our toes!! And it was a great moment, laughing with each other.

PMR, I LOVE chocolate chip cookies!! In Crazy Town we share all snacks through the tubes. I adore people who bake!! hehe

Ducky, Please stay safe. I've heard you can also go in a bathtub during a tornado. Do you have one of those?? We don't want to see those golden shoes sticking out under a house like in the Wizard of Oz. Do your children have basements???

Iammags, I didn't realize you were in San Francisco. We are all having a get together next month here in So CA - March 26th. You are more than welcome to join us!! Just let us know if you're interested.

Octo, Great links to Yosemite. I put them in my favorites for my DH. Yosemite is on our bucket list.

Cubbie, I also love GMA's Retreat for Peaceful Contemplation. It's gotten me through some really dark days while going through treatment. It was so nice to connect with the Pacific Northwest from the comfort of home. I still visit there often. Your theory may be correct. I don't have the problem on my left thumb.....I am right handed. Maybe it's from texting!?!?!

(((((((Theresa)))))))) I'm so sorry. Life can be so unpredictable. I wish I could take away all that pain.

    Lucy, Thank you!! :)

Tomboy, hahahahahahahaha......That was so funny. I didn't get a pedicure this time. But, I did get my gray out!! I will finally get to see your new car. Before we had cell phones with navigation, we used a TomTom for navigation and we always used the British voice. She (we called her Susan), would tell us to get on the Motorway instead of the freeway. I miss her voice. Remind me to tell you a funny story about our TomTom someday.

Thank you for all the good wishes for tomorrow. I must admit, I'm getting a bit nervous. I've done really well all week long, but now my tummy is feeling like it's in knots. I hope they don't want to do a biopsy tomorrow. I'm not ready for that yet.

Beppy, You know you are surrounded by love. I can understand not wanting a biopsy today, but you might consider that if the doc offers to do it, it would save another spell of waiting for the appointment. Just a thought. Rain has the pocket ready and I'm squeezing in just before lunch. Where are we going? Holding you tight in my heart, Jan

oh dear, no tornadoes here but last night sure was nasty and rainny

I' know I am not ready for any dang place where people are using walkers but it is exciting thinking of making a big change in life or actually just exploring options, did learn that they all have different financial plans so it is good to research

Then again, this last place had an exercise room with no pool and only 2 treadmills, not enough for me!

Back did not like the storm so hanging with the heating pad

    hello my Crazies!

Tomboy went with Slow to her appt today. We all know that's what a true friend does. And now they are both too pooped to pop, and they asked me to write an update. I'm going to give a bit of background so nobody feels left out.

About six months ago a .6 or so cm nodule was noted on a routine scan. It was decided to just watch it.

Beppy recently had some odd symptoms, facial and left side numbing, and some other stuff and a process was undertaken to find out why. Beppy also has RA, so it was always a possibility that this is what caused it, along with the dozens of other scenarios that pop up in our heads when we live in Crazytown. Most everything possible was ruled out, but instead of doing a bunch of scans peacemeal, Beppy asked just to get everything scanned.

Though it appears NOT to be related to the recent symptoms (though one never knows for sure), CT scan results showed this pesky lung nodule had doubled in size in about six months.

She was referred to a pulmonologist, which was the appt. today. Though he ventured some guesses based on the look of the thing, he is not an oncologist, and a biopsy is the only way to identify what this is. It could be an "incidentaloma", but the rapid growth makes it unlikely. It could be some other b9 condition. It could be a new primary tumor, even a non breast cancer, or it could be mets. The job of the doc today was to talk about next steps. Again, he is not an oncologist, but he was able to determine that a simple scope-type biopsy is not possible due to its location. So instead of jumping in with scalpels, here is the plan:

1- a PET scan (full body) will be done ASAP. Since no other lesions or nodules showed up on the CT, it is not expected that other places will "light up", but there is a possibility something could that would present easier access to biopsy. The dr felt just one nodule on the CT was not typical for BC Mets, but did not rule it out. Obviously if anything else lights up they will have a fresh look at the CT.

2-a tumor board will review the complete file. These guys will be more familiar with "the look" of the thing.

3- blood tests to rule out fungal infection

4- lung function test (presumably to determine if there is adequate lung function if the entire nodule is excised- which might be ideal if they have to do a more awkward and invasive surgical biopsy....might as well get the whole thing at once rather than the risk of biopsy then excision.)

So this is a lot of information (maybe too much) to simply say they can't biopsy it the easy way, so they are taking steps to find an easier way, or if not, a way that will be the least invasive with the most scientific pathology as the goal.

Unfortunately, this means more time waiting and wondering, and these tests and such are not easy on a body. But it's important to understand that no bad news was delivered today, other than the biopsy is not as simple as it could be.

So please join me in sending prayers, healing thoughts, group mojo, love, and strength to our dear Beppy. She has a couple of rough weeks ahead of her. I'm no doctor, but this all makes good sense to me. She wanted me to send her love and hugs to you all, and special blessings to Tomboy, for being with her today.

PS- Tomboy: if I have gotten any facts wrong, please feel free to correct me. It's a complicated situation.

Thank you so much for updating us Katy, you made it all very clear. And thanks to Tomboy for going with Beppy. I imagine it must be very valuable to have another breast cancer survivor with you in this situation. I expected the answer would be more testing of some sort. In the meantime, we will keep praying.

Katy. You nailed it! You couldn'tve done it better if you were there, and I know that you would have been there if you could have. I think you were the right one to tell every one, because you represent as the voice of reason and calmness. I am glad I was there with her, and I will be there with her as much or little as Beppy wants, and I know that each and every member of C~town feels the same way. I am for sure we will all be hugging and leaning on each other in the next few weeks for Beppy's tests, and thank you again Katy
