Thank you to everyone for the good thoughts and hugs. Knowing that you all are here helps a lot.
Fowlertee, welcome, and I'm so glad you got good scans!
Katy, it looks like spring has already arrived where you are. Maybe there is hope for the rest of the states!
Italychick, one my relatives who also had a BMX said it did take two years for all her aches, pains and soreness to resolve. Inguess we have to be patient. Sure is tough though, when every thing makes you worry of you've developed thumb cancer, etc.
Lucy, oh my...I wonder what the side effects of suppressing estrogen in men are. An urge to watch even more football than usual?

I die for plum jam. I'm wondering if the birds will get to the fruit first. I think that would be ok, since right now the score is :
Tutti 7
Birdies 2 ( that I managed to save)
The universe will need to set itself to rights over this.

What is it with the thumb? That's three of us now. And I'm er negative too. I swear some days it is really painful, just the thumb on my surgery side.
Well crazies, I just got back from my ex husbands funeral in the Midwest. Surprise heart attack, we are all devastated. My poor daughter lost her father in law in December to heart attack and now her dad. Both she and my son are pleading with me to please stick around, do testing, keep myself alive and healthy. Very sad and traumatic experience since my ex and I have remained friends for 40 years. He was just out at Christmas for a family celebration.

Italkchick... So sorry to hear about your ex..So lovely that you and he remained close.. Hugs to you and your children...

Welcome Fowler!
I am so happy you received your CT results already and you are in the clear!! I remember my complete body scan. Frightening to say the least! I had to wait 4 days. Results clear.
💊Before BC I took a few vitamins occasionally. Busy life. Now I take so many dang meds. To sleep, poop, vitamins, and now antibiotics, pain meds after surgery. Anyways the point is: one got STUCK in my esophagus. I had no problem breathing. It just felt like a lump. Anyways I thought the scariest thoughts. Long story short I think it passed with toast this morning. Do any of you have problems with all these meds?
Everyone have a glorious day. Get out there and walk if you at all possibly can!
Tomorrow's my 1 week postop! Maybe 1 drain will come out
Hugs
Patty

If I wasn't already, I am now officially in Crazy Town. I haven't even had my lx yet.
I have diagnosed myself with leukemia. I have a small swollen node under my arm and one behind my ear. And yesterday's blood test shows high lymphocytes and WBC. I'm sure that I have it although I'm not even sure that I know what the symptoms are. I have even thought that maybe my BC is really leukemia that has mets.
I really want one of the Ativan coffees now, please.
I realize that I probably only have an infection or that the BC has gone to my nodes. But I don't speak reality in Crazy Town. Do you? After being diagnosed with Diabetes last summer, arthritis on the big joint in my foot that required surgery, and the BC diagnosis, I can't help but run with the Crazy thoughts.
I am having surgery in one week and it can't come soon enough. Of course, then I have to wait for pathology...Guess I'll be re-visiting Crazy Town again soon. Might as well move in..
Your neighbor,
iammags

Theresa - so sorry for your loss! Thinking of you and your family.
Maybe the thumb thing is related to rads - hands above the head in that weird position? Mine started at some point during those weeks.
0 -
gee, thumb issues is a surprise
All the lovely flowers are so lovely, east coast not there just yet
Interesting morning, visited a independent living place, i am looking at down sizing but this place was tooooooo down most of the folks were getting around with walkers....Not needing that life yet,
Will keep research for now
0 -
Slow has told me where you all were hiding. I just wanted to say hi, but it seems like you all are so busy chatting I can never read that much...
Proud - I so am ready to downsize but DH isn't ready for that yet. So I will still enjoy our mountain for now.

OK, just adding a photo here. Since I got so warm between hot flashes and the weather in the Northeast today, I decided to go beanie-less for the day... Hair please grow! Hair please grow! Maybe there is some of that wonderful elixir that Alice used when she went down the rabbit hole....
0 -
Patty- glad you are healing. Getting those drains out is so important, but can't be rushed. Don't overdo it!
Mags- you sound like all the rest of us. Any weird ache or pain and we are on the CT express! Find a comfy chair here and try to zen yourself into a calm place now. Once you have your surgery and get your path, and develop a plan you will feel better. What day is your surgery? We'll have a party in your pocket that day, actually starting the night before. When you get nervous, reach down in your pocket and we will be there!
Jersey- you look smashing in your pixie cut! You are so pulling off that look!
Hugs to all Crazies today. Hope you are in a good place. If not, I just stumbled over a bottomless bucket of hugs someone left on the porch! Enough for everyone and a renewable resource!
0 -
Katy: you did warn Mags about the requisite gussets in ALL our pockets once we join CrazyTown?
0 -
oopsie- what's a gusset? Do we need a CRAZYTOWN tailor? Can such items be retrofitted? 😬🙋
0 -
Such things can always be retrofitted. (basically, an accordion fold which allows the garment to expand as needed)
0 -
OH I should have known THAT. My garments have always required spontaneous expansion, HAHA..
0 -
So wait, how many of us have thumb issues? Is this really a thing? SE from meds? Rads? LE? So weird!
Patty, you'll be off meds before too long. One week post surgery is still early, I think!
Welcome, Iammags! We all self-diagnose constantly! When I had a PET scan last summer, I read it on line and spent four days thinking I had brain cancer because, er, I'm not a trained medical professional. Yes indeed, I could have called for the results. And should have.
Hair, Jersey! It's growing! Like a garden.
Proud, I don't think you're ready for a place that's keyed to walkers. Not unless they have very cute valets available to park them.
Welcome, Gmafoley!
Slow, in your pocket for tomorrow....
Hi to all crazies, wide, deep, and spinning around for any reason!
0 -
yes, Slow....in your pocket...sending hugs and love.
I am hoping all goes very well for you tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.
And tomorrow is a special day for me. Let's just say that as of tomorrow I can get one of these for only $10!:
https://store.usgs.gov/pass/senior.html
I plan to celebrate by buying one and spending the weekend at my favorite right-in-my-backyard National Park... check out the webcams:

Love to all the crazies;

Good Afternoon Crazies,
I just got home from having my gray's colored. My hair is growing so fast I can see grays in two weeks. I'm certainly not complaining about it growing, I sort of wished I didn't start coloring it again once it started growing in. I should have just transitioned to gray.
Fowlertee, Welcome to our Crazy Town thread!! Please pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable. You picked a good place to come for support. The ladies here are wonderful!! YAY for good scans!!
GMA, It's so good to see you here!! Welcome to the thread!! The thread does go a bit fast, but just jump in when you can and don't worry about keeping track of everyone!! I've found it's just about impossible to keep up. You'll come to love all the new ladies you haven't met yet. My DH and I are also talking about downsizing. We are waiting to see what my sister will be doing. I'd like to sell the house, rent something small and buy a small RV and travel around the U.S. That's on my bucket list.
Lucy, Oh no!!! I can't believe your DH took your Tamoxifen!! I hope he doesn't get any SE's from one dose!! Thanks for thinking of me. I couldn't ask for a better twin!!
PMR, Wow, you've been through so much too. I hope your brother is doing ok after his stroke. I must admit, I've never tried cheetos and watermelon, although, I do LOVE cheetos.
Katy, How are you doing sweet sister??? It's sunny here today. I actually got dressed and got out of the house!! Octo is so correct!! No guilt here in Crazy Town. It's the one place where we can let it all hang out!! I'm so glad you posted the beautiful pics here!! It brightens up CT. Did I hear that you're making plum jam???? Or, was that Octo???
Octo, That picture is just beautiful!! I love the Redwoods. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm not much of a crier. The most I cried during this whole process was right after rads. I was an emotional mess. Now the only time I cry is when an act of kindness really touches me. Or, when a challenging life event affects a child. The kids get me every time. The plum tree is stunning!!
Rainy, Bread and soup sounds so good. I always drool when you post your bread pics!! I've been permanently excused from jury duty. There would be no way I would be able to sit through a trial. I'm not sure what the deal is with the thumbs. I don't take AI's so it can't be that for me. It's on my non-cancer side and I have the hardest time putting my hair in a ponytail without popping my thumb. Maybe we all have thumb cancer???
JAN, Waving to you and sending love!!!
Pennsygal, I'm so bummed!!! The link didn't work for me and I couldn't see your DD!!! Great big hugs to you!! It's good to cry and get it all out.
Molly, It's ok to go a little way down the rabbit hole, but we try not to let each other get too far down!! There's always someone around to pull us out here in Crazy Town. Thinking of your sweet Wyatt today!!
Robin, Very cute rodent picture. hahahaha!! OM goodness...... I loved the meme!! So funny!!! Thanks for the well needed laugh.
Cubbie, Oh no!! Sorry to hear about the emergency room visit. Unexplained symptoms are so scary. I'm very glad you didn't have a stroke. We definitely need an unexplained symptom room in Crazy Town. Complete with bright and colorful straight jackets. (((((Cubbie))))) I'm glad they figured out it was from a migraine.
QM, Good to see you post. How are you doing??? You've been more quiet than usual so I always like to check on you. ((((((((QM)))))))))
Ducky, I'm so glad to see you. ((((((Ducky))))) We will all be right by your side on Friday. Love you dear friend.
Iris, I'm going to see if I can squeeze in someone to clean my house once a month. I'm sure I can cut something out of my budget. You've convinced me!! It's probably a good idea to take a break from the PT and save some visits for later. Especially since you seem to be doing so much better!! This one is for you Iris.....
.....an early spring for you too!!Sula, So great to see you!! I'm so glad you checked in. What a pain having to wear the splint when you have so much you want to get done. I hope you heal quickly!!
Italy, My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your ex. How traumatic that must be for you and your children. It's great that the two of you remained friends. Gentle hugs to you!!!
Iammags, Yes, you'll fit right in here. I've had every cancer known to man since my original diagnosis. That's why we hang out in Crazy Town. Just drink one of these and it won't be so bad!!
We will all be in your pocket on surgery day!!Jersey, Your hair looks great!! That short cut REALLY looks good on you!!
Thanks for the good wishes for tomorrow. I'm meeting Tomboy and PoppyK for lunch beforehand. It will be so nice to see them both again!!!
Love to each one of you....quiet crazies too!!!

Here are your party decorations!!

and some extra bday treats!!
Here's to MANY more birthdays!!!!!!!

rainnyc, I don't do hormonals, and had no radiation. So if we have a common thread, it is either surgery or some form of chemo I guess for the mysterious sore thumb.

Jersey- your hair is looking good!! It won't be long. I mean it!! By the end of the summer you will have a purposeful haircut. Meanwhile Biotin and Visors. I got mine shaped and I colored it. It helped with my positive hair outlook.
Italy- Gentle Hugs for you. I am friends with my Ex too. We celebrate holidays with kids.
Mags- please take a deep breath and don't worry That LX will be here soon! If it popped up fast it's probably an infection. Hugs and try not to worry.
Happy Birthday Octo!! 🎂🎂🎂💃!
Jackie- I will probably get one drain out. I don't want the other one out its putting out 40 a day. Plus I had problems before with seromas.
I am a slug today. I did make Choc Chip cookies for my daughter. And for all of you!🍪🍪🍪🍪

Jersey Girl- You ARE rockin' that hair!! Honestly. You look great.
Katy- Thanks. My surgery is next Wednesday. I'll be reaching into my pocket for sure! Until then, lots of Zen moments and one or two Ativan .hahaaa. I'll be sure to add gussets.
Octo- Happy Birthday, and many more!
SlowDeepBreaths- Love the vodka latte sign. Especially because my husband and I own a coffeehouse here in SF. But, alas, we don't serve vodka or vallium. I'll have to sneak those in!
Thanks Patty- Good advice. What did Dory say in Finding Nemo? Keep swimming, keep swimming. Perfect, I think.

Kudos for being in the mile high club Ducky. And bonus points points if you joined at 80!

Italychick, I was so sorry to hear about your ex-husband. Was he the one who had a stroke a few months ago? Your poor kids, it's so hard to lose a parent.
PMR, I had the tablet-stuck-in-the-throat problem years ago taking something like Tagamet. Fortunately it dissolved after a while with drinking water. It was an awful feeling, though. I hope you got your drain out, drains are the pits.
Mags, I think you just have an infection. If you've got a swollen lymph node behind your ear and an elevated WBC, that's an infection, not BC, and the underarm lymph node is most likely related. I had something similar happen to me a couple months after my surgery. It was scary, but it cleared up in about a week. Waiting for the surgery and final pathology is the worst. We will be here to wait with you!
Iris, you are definitely not ready for that kind of independent living!
JerseyGirl, that's a great picture! I love your glasses!
Octo, I didn't know there were webcams of Yosemite - thanks for the links! I have never been there, but would love to see it someday. I've always loved the photos Ansel Adams took there.
Hi, GmaFoley! I check in your your Retreat thread when I need some beautiful pics to relax with!
Slow, in your pocket for tomorrow. I'm glad to hear you are having lunch with Tomboy and Poppy first.
The only thing I can think of about the thumb thing is that a couple of my co-workers, who have not had breast cancer, have also had thumb problems. I think both of them (now in their 50s) have been told they have arthritis in their thumbs. One says she thinks it's from years of gardening, and the other thinks it from years of writing with a pen, correcting and commenting on papers (these folks are teachers). That makes me wonder if the thumb thing is something that's common as we get older, and surgery (and chemo if you had it) causes a lot of stress on your body, inflammation, etc, might trigger it to start bothering you. That's my crazy theory, anyway.
I started taking xanax last night for sleep, as a short term thing until the bupropion I was also prescribed today has a chance to kick in. It may not be ativan sprinkles, but we'll see if this helps. Maybe I can be just a little less crazy!
Ducky, we had a tornado here on December 23rd (ridiculous) and in the building I was in, the best we could do was squash into the coat closet! I'd try that if things look bad. Stay safe! We don't want you to really be a mile high above the earth!

Cubbie..........LMAO............I"m sure that won't be as much fun as my "first Mile High Experience"......LOL
GMA.......hey girlfriend......welcome to CrazyTown...........So nice to see you here...................
