Found some nice bras at the Hanes outlet store last weekend that fit me perfectly. Best part about them was that they had no underwire in them!

I wish I could wear regular bras from discount & dept. stores. They don’t make them in large enough cup sizes--I have to buy mine online and from shops that specialize in European brands. Not even at Lane Bryant--their cups don’t go past H (hard enough to find their stuff in G). It’s a royal pain to have wait for them to arrive, try them on, and repack them for return (and some sites make you pay for return postage). I tried the “sister-sizing” method (because a given cup increases in size with every increase in band size, you can try going bigger in the band to get the same size cup---e.g., the cup in a 38I is the same size as in a 40H, 42DDD, or 44DD). Unfortunately, unless you’re extremely handy with scissors & a sewing machine and can cut down the band or sew on another set of hooks closer to the sides, going up a band size or two or three means the back will ride up, you won’t get support, and the cups may not even have the right shape despite having the volume you need. I thought before my lx I could buy a bunch of 42DDD and 44DD no-wire bras (Bali, Playtex, Warner’s) in nicer colors at Kohl’s, but they just don’t fit as well as my Goddess and Elomi underwires in 38I. (I have a couple of Prima Donnas, but they are ridiculously expensive and even the stores that carry them usually don’t stock them any bigger than 36H or I--not even in Paris). I do notice, however, that it’s easier to find prettier large-cup bras in Europe than back home.

Oh Sandy! It was just a week ago we were talking about my "trip" and now it happens to you! That moment when you realize what's happened, but before you land, is awful, isn't it? I'm glad you seem to be in one piece, and only scraped and bruised. It takes a while to heal from it. I still have a big scab on my knee.
It seems odd to me that attractive larger bras are easier to find in Europe. You'd think there would be just as many pretty items in the large US cities.

I’m mostly worried about how I will get the compression sleeve on & off w/o dislodging the band-aid and ripping open the scab, causing abrasion against the fabric of the compression sleeve. I’m already playing the “injured cancer patient” card and asking for wheelchair assistance.

Sandy, maybe ask your LE doc/therapist for some of the batting (I'm not sure what they actually call it) that you use when you wrap for LE? It's a very soft cotton that protects your elbow or wrist; it comes in a roll. I can't imagine getting the sleeve on over a wound. Or you could get it on, but it might be very hard to keep it on for the length of the flight without pain or further damage. Your concert sounded grand, by the way. Sorry to hear about the fall.
Lucy, your little ones are just adorable!
Theresa, thanks for confirming what I thought: Herceptin does come with its own minor, charming SEs. And congratulations on the clean scans! The best news in the world....
Octo, wow. Thanks for sharing. And enjoy
Jan, I do have a scale. Just always forget to use it. Good suggestion, though!
Waving at the rest of you, whether in tree houses or on porches or on a gently swaying hammock.....

Rain, I don’t wrap....yet. My LE hasn’t gotten that far--in fact, I don’t have to don my sleeve except for aerobic & resistance exercise, high altitude, scrubbing or anything repetitive (guitar, but not so much for fingerpicking as strumming), days when I’m noticing swelling, and of course flying. It’s moot anyway--no time before departure to see my therapist (who’s released me anyway). Just got home from a late dinner and have a gazillion things to do: bills to pay online or by fax, call credit card companies to notify them of my itinerary, print out documents, gather adaptors (both UK & EU) and 220V appliances, compiling packing list, and fill my pillboxes. Tomorrow I have to kill at least 3 hrs. getting downtown to buy enough Swiss francs to get me from the train to my hotel as well as taxis throughout my three days in Lausanne--the city’s pretty hilly, the hotel is at lake level down by the pier, and all the meeting venues are far uphill at least a mile away--and then to the TGV station. I bought enough pounds sterling for walking-around money in London and have enough Euros left over from December's cruise for Paris. I will also need to pack, set up an int’l data plan for my iPad, and get to bed early enough to rise with the chickens Thurs. It’s a 4 pm flight and we don’t have to leave for the airport till after noon, but I want to be sleepy by what would be bedtime GMT (no sense being wide awake eating & drinking in a lie-flat-bed biz class seat).

Hey Crazies!
QM, YAY!! I'm so glad it was something as simple as drink more water or suck on this lemon drop. Good grief...why do they have to make names so complicated - idiopathic subclinical parotitis. It's like the word autorhinolarngology = the study of diseases that pertain to the ear, nose and throat. I think they come up with these big words to throw off the dummies like me!! It's a conspiracy!! Get the Bubbies pickles. They will get your mouth watering. YUM!!
Rainy, I think Katy used a mixture of wheat and flour on her last loaf. Correct me if I'm wrong Katy. I remember the picture of hers. It looked great. I had an all over itchy feeling after my Herceptin infusion. I took Benedryl at night to sooth the itch. It wasn't concentrated in one area though. It was kind of all over.
Lucy, Every year since my nephews kids were little, we do a craft at Christmastime and they give it as a present to their parents. I also took advantage of the older sibling. She is VERY crafty. I would print out an idea from the internet and she would improve upon the idea. Worked out great. I would supervise!! haha Your grand daughters are so precious. Beautiful little girls. You must be so proud. Thank you for posting their pictures!!
Ducky, Lucy's twin grands made me think of Grayson and Isabella. How are they doing?
Italy, I bought the Genie bra right after my lumpectomy. I was obsessed with bras at the time. I can't remember if I liked it or not. I remember having a heck of a time finding a comfortable bra. I think I may have brought that one back because I don't have it now. My girls are so lopsided, I have a difficult time finding one bra that fits them both. I may try the Bali bra. Doing the happy dance for your good MRI report!!
Jan, I hope this second round of Cipro does the trick for you!! We MUST get you better.
Sandy, Too funny. The toilet paper would have been very embarrassing but VERY funny. I've always liked the Who. DH and I used to go to many concerts. I think I need to put that back on my list of things to do. You've got to watch that Fitbit. When I rock in my rocking chair it thinks I'm walking. I never walked so much in my life! Safe travels to you.
Pennysgal, Glad you got some sunshine to enjoy today.
Octo, Great picture of the sunset. I would love to hear the story of the three hour cruise!! As you know, I love a good story.
Funthing, sLoW DEep brEaTHs!! Funny pic....love the emoji band!! Hugs to you.
M0mmy, When I first found my two lumps, I was convinced it was from my underwire bra. Wishful thinking on my part. haha
Cubbie, Hi!
Tomboy, I'm excited to see you tomorrow!! Twice in one week....that's got to be a record for us.
Waving to all I didn't mention specifically. Love you all.
Goodnight beautiful crazies....quiet crazies too.
