Oh, Jan. I'm so sorry you won't be going. I hope you are truly on the road to recovery now.
As for the rest of you, have a marvelous time! Waving at you from NJ, where we'll be visiting my quite elderly mother. Perhaps there will be a visit to the Amish market sometime in the afternoon.
Beppy, I don't have any So-Cal college trips planned--yet. In April, we're doing Minnesota and Massachusetts. Ohio in August. Maine I don't know when but sometime. Maybe we should send him to USC, and then he can pop over to see you from time to time? He's pretty good at helping out around the house if you remind him about 40 times.
Have a lovely Easter weekend!

Rain, send him to UCLA...better neighborhood, better school...Love from your UC-centric friend Octo! :-)

Ah, thanks for the tip! I'm sure he's had mail from them, come to think.

just had a fun Facetime with the girls having the get together. They were outside in the sun on an interior Spanish-style patio/courtyard with brilliant flowers tumbling out of flower boxes on several stories and climbing bougainvillea! The food looked great too! But best of all was seeing Octo, Beppy, Molly, Poppy, and some other bco ladies. So nice to put voices and faces to these posts! They definitely sounded like they were having fun, and that being together was a nourishing experience for all.
Thanks for the chat girls!

Wish I could have joined you guys via Skype, but I spent my morning getting new brakes on my car. Not nearly as much fun.

alas, I couldn't get Skype to work....but we did get Katy on FaceTime! pics to follow!

Hi everyone!
I see you ladies are still having a blast out there kicking you know what.
I'm a little late. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been hanging out waiting for a solution for my latest dx. One doc says changing up the meds. One says cut it out and Radiation again and changing meds no chemo hmmm.
So that's me in the tree .I needed someone to pull me out. Thank you.😊
Love the Friday enthusiasm definitely a good one!!!
Jack is so cool, looks very peppy .
London crap! I'm jealous! Definitely rocking it.
I think someone needed tea ? Feel better.
Pics of families always are a good cheer up . Nice smiles!
I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed . Good results for all.

I think there might be more pics later (Our Mayor has one of Gabe so waiting for that one! :-)) but here is the first of several SoCal CT get-together pics...yes, Mayor Slow even thought of masks for those of us who are photo shy (turns out I am not the only one!) :-) and because....well.....Crazy! :-) Our server Stephen was very patient with us!
The weather was great, company was better....The Crazies and friends are the best!
Jan and Tomboy: we really missed you.
And apologies to distant crazies that I couldn't get it together for Skype. Maybe by the next get together....

Great picture! We are all so beautiful Funthing is that your team of doctors who can't make up their minds or a second opinion? Anyway this is for you.

*snorts of laughtr* I love the masks.

Octo - God Bless You One and All. As a group (gaggle?), I'd recognize you any where. As individuals, no clue.
I know you all had a blast. I'll be patiently waiting for some stories of how it was to meet strange(r) friends. Jan

love the masks, so glad all of you had a dandy time

Jan and Tomboy, I am disappointed that I didn't get to meet you this time. A couple of the ladies I wasn't really acquainted with but it was like talking to old friends.

Molly the second opion is for changing my meds .
Second doc opion is the doc I've been with since 2009.
Probably need a thrid. I feel like I was just dx'd except for the eerie feeling that something metastasized or this is a new cancer either way it stinks as everyone her unfortunately knows.
Oncotype was the same 22 or 23 tough call.
On a lighter note love the emoji faces. Lol

Funthing, that is a tough call, I think a third opinion wouldn't be unreasonable. I don't know where you were treated - have you gone to an NCI designated cancer center?
The get together looks like it was a lot of fun!
Sorry I have not been around more. My three month follow up is next week and I am stressed out big time. Everything just feels like a huge effort lately. But I have been reading right along, so I know what is up with all you folks. Hugs to everyone!

Cubbie...the three month check up is tough, I think, but we will be in your pocket!
One more pic from today....here I am with Gabe and a different emoji type mask. Mayor Slow thought it looked like I was giving the mask the finger but I swear I wasn't! and notice Gabe's eternal smile: he doesn't need a mask!
xoxox to all

Hello Crazies, it was great fun getting together with you today and hope we can do it again. Beppy I had a crazy drive down to San Diego, I was on the 215 and all of a sudden a motor cycle stopped traffic and I happened to be the first car, then the CHP turned up and blocked the freeway and then there had to be a thousand motor bikes came roaring past, once they had passed there were trucks with huge flags waving from the truck beds - we were at a dead stop for 25 minutes while all this happened then the CHP took off weaving in front of us and we drove at 20mph probably from before the Riverside Cemetary all the way to the Hemet turn off and on every overpass there were fire trucks and ambulances and people lined up, I just made it down to my dance class with 10 minutes to spare then the drive back up was awful, so much traffic, I must have put a couple of hundred miles on my car today but it was well worth it, I had a lovely visit with you all. Now I'm off to google to see if I can find out what I was caught up in.0

Hbcheryl, the traffic heading toward SD looked really bad when I left. It sounds like a crazy experience! Great pictures Octogirl! Cubbie, in your pocket for your appointment.

Wow can't sleep.
Cubbie. Thanks for the concern. I should be use to this by now.
I know what I need to do just can't believe it.
I definitely need a mask. So different
I would love to go back to California some day.

Hello Everyone. You're stories have made me laugh as I lie awake in crazy town!! I am new in my diagnosis so I am learning how to check my crazy and try to live in the moment. Luckily I am able to laugh at myself as I navigate my way through this new diagnosis. I have several tests coming up next week as well as port placement. Chemo is scheduled to start the following week. I look forward to reading all of your stories and it is wonderful to know I am not alone in CT!

Welcome Lacrossemom- so sorry you had to find us, but we are here for you. Pull up a comfy chair and have a hot chocolate with Ativan sprinkles. Or if you prefer, we can have it delivered to the treehouse.
Cubbie- thinking about you. I'm sorry you're down. Make room in that pocket. I'm comin' in!
Funthing- I just wanted to say I think it would not be unreasonable to seek a 3rd. But whatever you do, I support your decision and you.
💁🙋💁🙋🙋 Waving hi to all Crazues, hoping it's quiet because you are enjoying the holiday. If not, I'll be around for tea and crumpets. With sprinkles.

Welcome to the group, LacrosseMom.
The initial stages of the diagnosis and treatment are definitely the craziest, though as you may have guessed from some of the chatter, that never entirely goes away! It is to be hoped that simply knowing you're not alone in the "Oh [insert string of wholly unladylike epithets], I have WHAT?! and you're planning to do WHAT?!" will help, just a bit with the crazies.
Definitely a day for tea and crumpets and sprinkles. I'll be outside with my nose in the crocuses and Dutch Iris I planted last year after I got sprung from the hospital after two days of IV vancomycin as a result of an idiopathic case of erysipelas. Doing my best to seek tranquility. And sprinkles.

Hello, you lovely crazies! It is so nice to see you so-Cal ladies all in a row! I just have one question: How did you manage to eat with those masks on?
We had a pleasant weekend in NJ. My mother is in her mid-80s and starting to be a bit forgetful, but she is still coping and does treasure her independence. She dotes on DS and is very excited about his college search, so that gives us all a topic of conversation. I was pleased that yesterday afternoon, two of her neighbors stopped by to chat, so it does seem that folks are looking out for her. I hope to continue going out there every few weeks.
Meanwhile, last night she cooked up a leg of lamb and sent half of it back with us today. And we're having a friend of DH's over for dinner, so before I left for NJ, I thawed pulled out a leg of lamb that I'd had in the freezer. So.... good thing we like lamb! I'm going to see if I can find some fresh mint. It really demands fresh mint, don't you think?
Welcome, Lacrossemom. I'm so sorry you have to be here, but pull up a chair. I was you 10 months ago, except that I didn't discover this site right away. Let us know how your tests turn out.
Funthing, I agree with Cubbie. Can you get a 3rd opinion?
And Cubbie, in your pocket for the follow-up.
All right, heading out to see if I can score some mint and even maybe some asparagus. Enjoy your Sunday, crazies!
