Rebecca, sounds like your MO is reading from a script and not your chart!
Still flying high (half an hour before I board my flight to Midway) after the terrific time I had playing the Vital Touch benefit in Hickory, NC yesterday. It wad truly a joy getting to meet Mary (HH) and Cathy (mustlovepoodles)--feels like we've known each other all our lives. Thanks so much!Thinking of doing the same for the program at Evanston, IL 's ( 2 mi n. of me) Heartwood Center--perhaps recruit several of my BC-survivor local musicians). Gotta go into airplane mode now-- talk more tonight.

Slow......I can lift him, but the problem is I pay for it later.,especailly with the LE arm.........actually they won't allow me to lift him anymore..........not because I can't, but because I get "Mom, Nan, it's too much for you............yea right......yada, yada...........LO

Oh, rleepac! you have my sympathies. That medical assistant is [bleep] lucky to escape intact. What part of "I had a bilateral mastectomy. I have no remaining breast tissue, that I'm aware of. What the hell are they going to mammogram?" doesn't zie understand?
(Just coming out of my own rabbit hole of 'first annual mammogram after diagnosis'. Worst nightmares afterwards I ever remember having. Seriously? I want a word with my subconscious.)

Bekah, you should have popped her a good one. What a dumbass she was!
0 -
I know she has 'fields' to fill in and protocols to follow but c'mon...use a little common sense! She's usually not like that so maybe she had gotten in trouble for not asking all the questions. I don't know...all I know is I wanted to chop her in the throat!!!

Good news--Bob’s lung CT scan came back “stable--no followup required."

Well hubby has gone from a splint to a fiberglass cast. The doctor gave him more room to move his fingers and said it was a good sign that he is getting sensation in the hand and arm.

Good news, Sandy!! QMC, I am with you on first mammogram. Mine is tomorrow and I am quickly becoming paranoid. Flashback to last year. Great progress for your DH, M0mmy.

Yes it is. He's able to do more for himself, but he's not pushing i

Sandy.. Yay.. Great news for Bob :-)
QMC. I think not just the stress of the first mammo... I think it's everyone forever after.. 😱 When I was in hospital after my mascetomy a 25 year survivor who worked at the hospital came to see me.. She said she still DREADS her annual mammogram ! ! She was only 30 even diagnosed with TNBC..
Bekah...Ugh.. I'd be after her jugular as well !!
Molly.. In your pocket for tomorrow.. I know how stressful it is.. Mines not until August, and I'm already starting to think about it 😱
Mommy. Glad your hubby is improving!
Ducky.. I LOVE your photos !!
Twinnie. Thinking of you!!

Well, my part of CrazyTown has gotten a bit more neurotic. Got ready to head down to Christ Hospital for a doctors’ financial seminar & reception with Bob. Opened my garage door, pulled on my car door (I have “proximity keyless entry” that reads my remote through my purse, and this time I was holding it in my hand), and it wouldn’t open. Clicked “open” on the remote--not a sound, no beep, no parking lights flashing. Remote battery dead? Went inside to get the other fob--same thing. I can’t even open the hood to get a jump! Obviously, no way I’m making it down to Oak Lawn in time. Called Subaru roadside assistance--no point in using Geico or AAA, since they can’t get into the car. They’re sending someone to tow the car (and me) up to the dealership in Skokie. Gonna have to get a loaner (heaven knows what) until they can get into the car and fix what went wrong. I can’t even access my garage door remote, since it’s locked in the car and Bob has the only other one, so I’m gonna have to close the door with the wall button, lock the side door and go through (unlock & lock) my garden gate. What a PITA!!! The car is a 2014 Outback with fewer than 19K miles on it--it was a lease return when I bought it, with 5K miles already on it, and at 15K miles it had its full “well-baby” checkup and changes. Just got a text from the towing company.......ETA is TWO HOURS from now!!!! So I will have to take off my finery (ok, just the scarf) and hang out on the deck drinking iced lattes and seltzer till they get there and I can let them in.
This is what happens when I go out of town and there’s nobody there to periodically start the car for me--housekeeper was off, Gordy doesn’t drive, and Bob doesn’t know how to use pushbutton start (he has driven the car exactly ONCE, after a blizzard, and hated it so much he dug a path out of the garage for his little front-wheel-drive Fusion).
I normally roll my eyes when one of my woo-woo creative artist friends tells me “Mercury is in retrograde, so electronics, communications & transportation will be screwed up.” But considering the car rental & Hertz AlwaysLost snafus, cell and internet dead zones at the conference, misunderstood messages, leaky icemaker in my fridge last night and now this.....I know it makes absolutely NO scientific sense, but still......
I know this is faulty logic, but once I am mobile again I have a powerful hankering for some Hoosier Mama pie to console myself.....if they’re still open. Otherwise I’m taking myself to the closest nice seafood joint. I am SO pissed off---all my shopping totes are in there too! And I’m sticking a rosé in the fridge.

Thank you all, ladies. I thought I was calm, heading into that first mammogram....well, I was calm. Awake. Asleep? Fiendish nightmares. Fiendish nightmares like whoa. Like waking up at dark o'clock, teeth chattering, sliding back into the nightmare as soon as I closed my eyes.
Well, that's what CrazyTown's for. And why I'm sticking around.

Good news for Bob. So happy for you Sandy. My DHs car has a push button start and the remote... I love it! Hope you get the car issue worked out quickly.
Regarding those first mammograms after treatment: Don't be surprised if they call you back in for additional views or ultrasounds. For me, they did both. I had new cysts and the tissue was rearranged from my previous mammo. They also saw new stuff on the mammo and had to determine what these things were. They turned out to be scar tissue.
Hope your mammos go smoothly. ((Hugs))

Ladies - this is an awesome topic, but just too busy for me.. I just can't keep up right now. If anyone wants to check up on me, send a pm.. Love you all and will always keep everyone of you in my prayers.

Good morning everyone! I've got a busy end of the week but I'll try to keep up with everyone!
Sandy, don't you just hate it when everything falls apart! We have the new Chrysler caravan, the key fob also has a hidden key in it in case the fob fails. It just keeps coming! Great news about Bob!
Take your time GmaFoley, we all understand. Some more than others of course, that's why we're all here :-)
Good luck everyone on your mammograms!

((((Gma)))) for whatever is going on. The funny thing about my diagnostic mammogram today is I've never had a mammogram at this facility except for the wire placement for my lx. So they have nothing to compare since it did not occur to me until now that I should have picked up a copy of my previous mammogram. I only have one breast so they can't compare the two either. Oh well. I had such weird dreams last night but trying to just relax about it and remember it's just an x-ray.

Good Morning Crazies!!
Molly, We are all in your pocket today! Sending you love and ativan sprinkles. ((((Molly))))
QM, I'm glad you're coming out of the rabbit hole. I missed you!! Nightmares are truly the worst. ((((QM))))
Ducky, My son was built similar to Bobby. He hated walking and wanted to be carried all the time. During that time, I had the best looking arms in my whole life. I wish I had a baby to carry around now!!
Sandy, That's excellent news about Bob. I'm so happy for you both!! Total bummer about your car. I hope you get it all sorted out soon.
M0mmy, I'm glad your DH is improving. Those casts can be so restrictive. Big hugs to you too!!
GMA, I often have a difficult time keeping up too. I'm glad you took that pressure off yourself. Even if you don't post, we still feel you here with us!! I hope you're starting to feel a bit better.
Twinnie, Good to see you posting!! I know those grand babies have been keeping you busy. In my opinion, that is the best kind of busy to be!!
Poppy, Thinking of you and I hope you're mending quickly.
Today is my laundry day.... I'm calling on all inventors of the world to keep working on the idea of disposable clothes. Think of all the time we would save.
Love to all....quiet crazies too!!

The dealership apparently hasn’t even checked their overnight drop-box! And they have the gall to tell me that they have to attend to all the cars lined up outside the service dept. door first before they can call me back?? Unacceptable---I should be AHEAD of them ALL because my car’s been there since 9:30pm YESTERDAY. I’m about to play the “senior-citizen-with-cancer card.” Gonna have my housekeeper drive me up there and I’m not leaving w/o either at least a new battery (if not replacement of the fuse-box cover) or a decent loaner.
I'd spent my entire life being a polite, deferential doormat, smilingly getting stepped on. NO LONGER!

Uh oh! I'd hate to be that car guy right about now. Go get em, Sandy!

Got Dermot thing tomorrow, nasty as no swimming for 2 weeks after

(The hidden backup key just gets the door open--there is no key slot for the ignition. And I discovered the backup key by accident....”hmmm...is this little lever thingy the battery-compartment release? Ohhh.”)
Well, I guess it's really a Mercury-retrograde kinda week. About 2:30 pm I managed to get ahold of a service tech, and he said that the dropbox was empty but he would walk the lot to find the car and get back to me. I had visions of it having been dropped off on the street (that part of Skokie doesn't have street parking) and towed away by the police, or even tag-teamed and stolen (via jumpstart and hotwire). While I was waiting for him to call me back, I called (on my cell) the towing co. The operator spoke to the driver from last night, and hey took photos of the car: one as he was leaving my garage, one of it on the flatbed and one of it dropped off at the service bay door at the dealership. I called the service dept. back and they put me on hold. Then I got the call-waiting beep--the service tech had found my car.....going through the car wash, because it had been attended to this morning. It WAS a dead battery, so they gave me a new one; and they found the fuse panel cover beneath my seat and reinstalled it. Cost? Zero. They said that even if a dome light had been left on all night, a 3-yr-old battery shouldn't have become so thoroughly depleted that it wouldn't hold a charge--so they considered it defective and replaced it under my 5-yr warranty. The tow was free too.
So I have removed Subaru Roadside Assistance, Evanston Subaru, and North Shore Towing from my "fecal scroll.”
Storming like crazy out there. Swore I saw possums, coyotes, squirrels, and pigeons pass by my window two by two....

ChiSandy: yay, I guess.
