Pennsygal, I've never head of anyone that young. Is there any family history or BRCA positive status in her family? Hopefully not, and they are just being extra cautious. I'm glad they are not just dismissing her as too young, and are following up.

ChiSandy, my gastroenterologist's office actually puts the ointment on their instruction sheet as a tip. I am stocked up on that as well. ;-)

Thinking about CrazyTown , and how it's changed ..remembering back to when Beppy and Tomboy started this thread ..How it was a place to come share our fears , sadness , worries ..support each other through it . At the same time we laughed through our tears as well , and had lots fun talking about every day activities ...sharing photos ...of everything ..especially all those wonderful food porn photos ( yum ..who could forget ☺ ) ..and even photos of our "flops " in the kitchen too 😵 ....shared what we were doing weekends , what our grand-kids were doing ...( So many wonderful photos of Ducky's family having fun ..I enjoyed them all !! )

Now there is a change of "flavour " here ..We all know why ..we are all sad. .sad to our cores ..sad where it hurts the most 😞

I'm wondering if ..Just as an experiment we still share all our fears and worries ..as Beppy and Tomboy intended ..but also try and lift everyone's mood ..with happy stories of what we are up to as well .??!

It used to be somewhere I felt that I could come to for empathy .. always recieved it ..but also recieved a good happy feeling as well ..A safe place. .where we all understood ..

Sorry for this post ..ignore it ..I'm just rambling ..it just I always loved Crazy Town ..

Lucy55 I know what you mean; i too enjoyed the laughter, and imagining a CrazyTown in which we were all together, in addition to the validation of the fears, however baseless, however occasionally all too real. Not sure I can match Beppy and Tomboy, in their original intent or their talents, though happy to try if the community's willing.

Might I add a pleasantly overgrown nature preserve to CrazyTown (never a tick in sight, no fear!), and a landscaped water feature, complete with migrating birds? (I started the business sequence at the local community college this fall, and I've found both the campus nature preserve and the (artificial) ponds surrounding the class buildings ever so restful.) Benches scattered about--some in the sun, some in the shade, but all with a view. Picnic tables. All that.

I haven't been sleeping good this last week as hubby has been sick for a few days and I have been concentrating on getting him well again. Poor guy is worn out with having to up and down at least three flights of stairs everyday last week and today because the elevator at work is out. The only rest he has had from all that stair climbing is when he has been home. Hoping that the elevator is back in working order tomorrow so it makes it easier for him at work tomorrow

Mommyof2: nuts, I'm in your time zone or I'd suggest calling me in the dark hours of the night. Works a bit better for the Pacific Time Zone people. Here's to hoping a) your husband feels better, b) the elevator resumes functionality at his workplace and c) your assignments go smoothly from here on in (I've only just started back to school, with the hopes of leapfrogging into either employment or an(other) master's degree in business)

Mommyof2, I sympathize with your husband. I used to work in the basement of a five story building (so six flights of stairs) with elevators that ranged from 30 to 80 years old, which didn't have stops on every floor. Working in IT, I was all over that building all day, and it was usually just faster (and sometimes safer!) to take the stairs. I had thighs and buns of steel back in those days! I remember running all six flights once in the middle of some crisis and tripping on the last step because my legs were so tired.

Oh yes, CrazyTown has changed and I've had a hard time feeling like posting since our mayor has been on sick leave. I'll share a bit from my life and hope others join in.

My family gathering will be tiny compared to Ducky's, but my DH and I are putting together our 50th anniversary party. It will be a 2 to 3 day celebration with our daughters, their DHs, and our 7 grandchildren. We have continuously groomed our hill side so the little grands have all sorts of play areas. I call it our "hundred acre woods." We'll be doing all the cooking, so I've been hauling in groceries and heading out for more. This is what keeps my spirits up, while worrying about Beppy and a dear friend on Triple Negative thread. Jan

It is good to hear from everyone. I'm in crazy town, after backing off for a while. I have a great new work project (good) but my mother has been very ill these last several weeks, with no easy resolution. My brother and sisters and I are taking turns caring for her, and I find I'm using every ounce of medical know-how to help tame an unruly, wild mass of specialists. You'd think it would be easy for them to come to the same conclusion and a path forward. You'd be wrong. Anyway, I'm at my mother's home in NJ at this moment. DH and DS are in NYC, and I miss them.

Meanwhile, I'm insured via the ACA so am desperately worried about that.

And so very sad and concerned for those crazy town inhabitants who are battling this rotten disease: Christine (Gaia), Shorfi, and our beloved Beppy.

Lovely to hear your voices. Jan, congratulations on your 50th anniversary!

I've been down too....and then I caught a damned, damned damned sore throat and crud this weekend just when I was going to visit Suladog. I mean..... food porn! Hers is the best! I did make it up to Sonoma and visited my father (92, and while more sedate than I last saw him, is hanging in there...) and did manage a brief vineyard walk before I succumbed to the crud. I hope these pics

    lift everyone's spirits!!!

Jan , congratulations on your 50th anniversary . That's simply amazing . I hope your celebration is lovely and filled with joy . I know we've all been tip toeing around the pain and sadness . I miss Beppy . I am sad that this darn disease takes good people like my friend Sue .

To answer the question , Wyatt's doing OK right now . I can't say he's doing well because he gets only days or sometimes hours of feeling well . Over the weekend he was better than he's been in months , today he's back on the downward trajectory . I think that's the main reason I barely function these days . I get to work and want to sob . I can't shake the utterly helpless feeling anymore . I'm lucky we've had so much extra time . We took him home to die in February 2015 . It doesn't make this easier . On top of that my mom is end stage Alzheimers . She's so thin she's skeletal yet she still eats . She lives nearby but I only see her every two weeks . I can't handle anymore . It takes me two weeks to get over the shock of how bad she looks . I miss her so much . I lost my oldest sister three years ago to this awful disease and now my mom .

I'm glad you are all here . It's so hard to open up and talk without crying . I don't like crying so I don't talk much .

Tomboy , what day are you going to see Beppy ?

    Love you all .

Oh, (((Molly))). That is so sad. Why does life have to be this way?

Octo, I've never seen a vineyard before. What a beautiful place. I hope you shake the crud soon.

Jan, mazel tov on 50 years together! An event that seems to be increasingly rare these days. Love conquers all.

Few things are as beautiful and serene as a vineyard in autumn, after the harvest is over and the grape leaves are competing with the trees as to which have the most splendid color.

Molly, I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through in this “sandwich generation.” All I can give are my hugs and prayers.

Rainnyc: good luck with both your new project and with taming your mother's medical team.

Octogirl: thank you for the peaceful pictures of the vineyards in fall. I grew up in San Francisco, but didn't get out to wine country more than a couple of times (now regret that!), but grapes are big in the corner of Michigan where I now live......and that's pretty much like they look here as well. I love the way the rows seem to flow gracefully over the rises and dips in the landscape.

Mollie (and anyone who needs it): sending what peace I can. Alzheimer's is a nightmare for the family members, and not exactly a doddle in the park for the person's who's actually got it.

Mommyof2 (and Cubbie): oof, I hadn't thought of needing to carry anything much up and down the stairs.

Molly no words for what you are going through, just hugs and much love. I get it. All my "vacations" this year have been to attend funerals of close family members or watch people die.

Beppy, I think about you every day and send you much love. I agree with whoever commented about upbeat comments on this forum, you are definitely our queen and I miss your gentle comments and upbeat presence here.

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner next week and all my children and grandchildren will be here, which will be a joyous time for me! My kids and grandkids are the best and have helped me through the past two years more than I can say.

M0mmy , great news about the elevator . Sounds like your DH is a hard worker . I am in technology as well . I am the Telecommunications Manager at my work . I also am in charge of the cabling infrastructure . My world started colliding with IT a few years ago and I had to start learning some server and network management as well .

Thanks all for the responses about my friend's daughter. She's at UPenn hospital, so I feel like she's in good hands. No history of cancer or BRCA on either side of her family.

Jan, congrats on 50 years! Rainny, good to see you posting!

Thinking of Beppy every day and holding her in the light.

Thanks, dear friends, for the good wishes re our 50th. It's amazing how fast those years went by. Perhaps it is even more amazing how old my own children are! To make me look a little bit better (younger?) in photos, I'm getting low-lights in my white hair today. I haven't done anything with my hair since chemo. I even splurged on all new makeup. Should be interesting. We have a couple of semi professional photographers in the family, and I want this event well documented.

Beppy is never far from my mind. Such a dear, precious person, and just don't understand why cancer takes down the good ones.

Molly, he works very hard at his job and is underappreciated by his boss and the assistant department head for all he does at the college he works at. He's appreciated more by most of the faculty and staff though. Every time I have gone there for a class or just to visit, I hear nothing but praise from people about him!

The colonoscopy is done - no polyps. He did take a couple of tissue biopsies since I have a long history of irritable bowel syndrome, to rule out anything else. I'll be one the five year plan due to my family history. I'm going to eat some rice for lunch and enjoy the beautiful fall day here. Boy am I tired after last night! Catch up with you all later.
