Ducky ..Just to see you post warms my heart 😘..It's not the same here without you ..

Poppy ..Sorry you've been sick ..and lots going on with the rest of the family ..Maybe Hubby's unusual mood change is because everyone else is having issues at the moment , and he's " feeling it " for everyone too ..Men are strange creatures 😵

"Men are strange creatures 😵" Truer words were never spoken.... :-)

Seriously, Poppy, sounds like all of the stress is getting to your hubby as well. Would he consider any type of therapy? In any case, hang in there and take care of yourself. That bad of a flu can really take a toll. Hoping it gets better with the kids. (((hugs))).

Iris, I wonder if the exercise is making you less hungry?

Di, yay for the good news and hope you figure out the rest!

Hi Ladies.....just checking in......Love you to Molly, and our Wyatt...hug him for his Nannie.....I can handle another grandchild.......LOL...

The twins birthday is being celebrated today, so will be heading over there soon....made the usual lb cake that eveyrone loves.....everyone but me.....sick of looking at it.............

I made one yesterday for my grandson in college to back back to school with him....I slice it up wrap in saran and foil then put it in lock and lock, 7 pieces.....one for each day in case he doesn't get back home (not to far away), then I bag 7 pieces in a zip lock (2bags of 7) and my daughter freezes them (freezes great), and each weekend when he comes home he replenishes his supply....LOL.loves this damn cake......

Then just finished making a 2nd one for the twins birthday today ........Phew....tired of looking at it...seeing, flour, eggs, sour cream, sugar and butter in my sleep...........at least the house smells good..

Ok my dear ones.....will talk to you when I get back........went to dinner last night with my son.......will let you know about that too....Hugs

Ducky ..Happy birthday to the Twins. !!! How old are they now ? Gosh I'm having trouble remembering the dates of my own grand-babies birthday these days. !!! Your cake sounds wonderful ..I wonder if it'd freeze well and ship.to Australia ??? ☺

Mommy ..Hi ..We've been missing our official hugger as well. !!

Iris ..So sorry about your tummy pain ..Good idea to get a list of questions ( maybe even written out) to ask your doctor when you go ..I know I end up in flap every time , over just being there , and forget to ask everything I had intended to ..

    Take care everyone

I found an article in cure magazine with great suggestions on questions to ask docs and plan on using that in my appt

I must be feeling good as a friend called and said I sounded better to him just on the phone

Even went shopping and bought a couple of things that I did not need but just wanted and I do not usually do that it is my cheapo side ,

Di2012 - Congrats on NO mets in your bone scan!!!! Sorry about the other news...though...but...so glad for you there is NO Mets!!!! That's the best news...(((hugs))) as this process is so traumatic!!!

Poppy - Sorry about your DH...mine can act like a "FH" - a lot of the time. He - too - can be short tempered over nothing and it really drives me crazy...

Thanks Everyone - for all of your support - these past 8 days have been TORTURE.

BUT - I just got the call that all my lab results and tumor markers were "fine". I had to ask - over and over - to make sure I heard her right - but - she said they are all "Ok"!!

Now just need to wait for the bone scan in July (that was already planned - but - glad I get a *break* from worrying about tests/scans at the moment!!!)

Still very shaky from the phone call and was crying afterwards - everyone in the office thought I just got bad news!!

I guess it will take awhile for it to sink in - that my news was good!!

Scared, Glad for your good news. LOL about your office mates. No one who hasn't been through it can truly understand the level of the emotions that come with cancer related news.... good or bad.

Lucy, Enjoy your walk. Lately I find myself wanting to plan vacations based on where I want to go before I die... as though it would happen within the next two years.

I'm still coughing like crazy and now my middle son is sick. DH took him to the doctor.

DH is behaving like his usual sweet self. Hopefully he's just tired. Sometimes I think he was prepared for a year of cancer crap, but not for the ongoing, continuous crap. Plus, we have 3 teenaged boys in the house. Teens can be remarkably self-centered and less than helpful.... regardless of how they were raised.

Our family vacation this summer is to Yellowstone National Park. My DH and I worked for the food services there summers when we were in college... several years. Can't wait to share it with the kids. Hope I can improve my physical condition so I can do more while I'm there.

Bob has decided not to come with me to London (therefore I have no need to extend the trip to Barcelona), but wants to start looking at one of the longer Barcelona-to-Stockholm cruises (22 days) for sometime this summer ot fall. The colleague who does his angioplasties and covered for him during his nightmare colon adventure back in 2015 wants to take his family on a vacation that week (with relatives still in Syria and Libya he wants to do something entirely frivolous to distract his wife & kids' attention). So Bob will be coming with me up to northern WI for a concert my duo is doing at a festival the day before Father's Day--that way I won't have to do 7-hr drives alone. (I would have thought going to Madison to pick up my singing partner and take only one car might have made more sense, but he has solo gigs up north both before & after). And Bob & I might drive rather than fly to his HS reunion in early June--less than 2wks. after I return from an annual music conference in NC.

poppy,..interesting that you worked for food services during college for Yellowstone.

My nephew did the same for one of the National parks, i always forget which one but he met his future wife while working there. At the time he had been sort of a lost soul and his dad kept pushing him to get a real Job! He had worked as a cook for years while in high school so it was pretty easy for him to get a job with the park service. Course his new girl friend got pregnant and park Rangers were not real helpful for a pregnant girl. They both ended up leaving the park service and heading back to her parents place. It was a rocky start to what turned into a solid marriage with now 2 great boys.

Proud.....I worked in Food Service too while my kids were in school......lousy pay, but it gave me a wage, and able to be there for my kids before school and after.........stayed with it till my mother got colon cancer, and I left to take care of her.........I enjoyed being with the kids.......I was the Head Baker for 8 schools and the Business office.........and back then we made everything from scratch .....including pudding......LOL

Ahhh ..Yellowstone National Park ..Isn't that where Yogi Bear lives. ??😉

Poppy ..I know what you mean about the holiday thing ..Sort of like a " bucket list " ...Ugh I hate bucket lists. !!...I have developed this annoying habit of when I talk about doing something in a year or 2 , adding " if I'm still here " ..Hubby is always telling me to STOP IT...Your holiday sounds lots of fun .great to share a bit of your past with your boys ...Didn't Beppy go there on her road trip ?

Iris ..Glad to hear your nephew and his wife had a happy ending to their story .Do they live close by ?

Ducky ..My gosh !!!!..Now I know why you a such a good cook. !!!

We have a happy day planned ..Going to Hubby's parents for morning tea ..Out with my BFF for lunch , and Hubby is making a platter of Shushi right now ( HaHa while I'm laying in bed writing this ) to take to our daughter's for dinner tonight ..It's my 7 year old grandson's favourite food. !! 😉

    Molly ..thinking of you ..

Love to all ..Have a happy day ..

    Hi crazies--

Dropping in because today is my 18-month PFC anniversary. And I get to have a PET scan next week--lucky me!

Iris, hope you're tolerating side effects--or better yet, not having them.

Molly, thinking of you and Wyatt, always.

Poppy, hope the boys--and you--are behaving and reasonably happy. And recovered from illness.

Ducky, would you mind terribly sending some of those baked goods my way? Just kidding: I think tomorrow might be a baking day.

Thinking of you, Cubbie, Lucy, Shorfi....everyone, really!

Today, I've been on my own, which is lovely as I'm doing a work project and have also managed to vacuum, launder, and return some library books. DH is working and DS is off doing a volunteer project. Clear today and for some reason very cold. College results for DS in another month!

Love and hugs to all crazies....

evening all, we'll onco visit went well, told her about feeling so tired and she said we can revisit it next month, yeap on monthly check ups for now. I only felt so tired when I went from5 to 10mg but there is a 7.5 size pill so that is an option. Me, i want to use the strongest one I can tolerate as i sure do not want to think about the other options. Wee will do scan at 3 months so just plodding along for now.

My doc is at Hackensack which these days has a huge cancer center and even has a new affiliation with msk. Guess I am wondering if I should do a second opinion, I would welcome thoughts....I do like my onco and do have confidence in the hospital

Hi lovely crazies. I am doing well. Waiting on my PS pre op appointment this coming Thursday. Wyatt's been pretty miserable. Not sure what is wrong which is frustrating. Iris, thinking about you. PoppyK, hope you feel better. Lucy, M0mmy, ducky, shorfi, octogirl and anyone else i missed Hugs. Rainny, praying for a good scan.

Octogirl, I started swimming a couple weeks ago. It feels so good to be in the water. We have a nice public, indoor pool here. I am trying to increase my rom and get in better shape before my exchange surgery.

Talked to the fitness training director at my neighborhood LA Fitness yesterday—explained that I had committed to an early dinner and opera tix yesterday (never spent so much on one event in my life, but anytime Bob wants a little luxury I am all for it—this is a guy who, when we were newlyweds, went ballistic when I told him I’d spent $20 on a pair of concert tickets, because it was almost 1% of our savings). I also mentioned I’m seeing my MO on Tues. for my Prolia shot, and wanted to be absolutely clear about what exercises I should and shouldn’t do. He reassured me that he is a PT who worked with seniors and orthopedic patients and he has certainly seen clients older, fatter & more de-conditioned than I am. He said I really shouldn’t come in and use the equipment there until he’s had a chance to evaluate me, but that in the meantime it would definitely be a good idea to swim some laps and take a water aerobics class or two at a branch that has a pool. So my “acid test” is next Friday. I figure that any aches from the Prolia will have receded by then (and because of Thurs. night’s winemaker dinner I’m gonna have to burn off more calories).
