Happy Anniversary, Lucy!!!! Here's to many more!
Iris, hope lunch out was great....I had some really nice fish and chips on my trip to the coast earlier this week.
Molly, hope the vertigo gets better, and I say, keep baking! The food looks great! I am going to a potluck picnic of my homeowner's association tomorrow...was thinking of bringing fried chicken, and really liked the looks of yours. Got lazy though, and went and bought a bunch of tamales to bring, from my favorite local spot.
Hope all the crazies have a restful weekend. Hugs to all!

Molly, hope your vertigo clears up soon. Happy Anniversary, Lucy! This talk of lunch tomorrow is making my mouth water--it's Yom Kippur, and the only reason I ate after temple was that I had to take an Aleve for my aching back and didn't want it to be on an empty stomach, keeping me up all night with heartburn. I will fast starting at bedtime.

morniing folks, had nice time. with my pals at lunch. One of told me she would go with me on my next chemo trip. Great to have pals to help me, i am truely blessed in that way.
Sorry we are making you think food , i am not clear when your fast ends Sandy.
No real plans for today. I want to ask the onc next time i see her whether the fatique ends wih the end of chemo but know the end is not really anytime soon but just a simple lunch gets me tired

Fast is supposed to end at sundown, but our temple sped through services and served a Kiddush & dairy buffet at 5:30

Hey everyone, thought I was handling my bone scan tomorrow without too much anxiety, I keep telling myself hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Anxiety is getting the best of me, I realize that the scan is not what worries me as much as the results, not sure how to stay sane for the next 5 to 10 days while I wait for results. Just need some advice from those of you that know how I'm feeling

The hospital just called and the bone scan machine is down, they are going to re-schedule me when it is up and running again. So I will be waiting even longer for results.

Lafish - how frustrating! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long - the scan anxiety is bad enough! I deal with it by trying to take control of something small and manageable - cleaning out drawers, rearranging closets, etc. Distraction + a sense of accomplishment.

Thanks for the advice Pennsygal, you are right, distraction works very well. I will try. I really just want this over with, it has taken a month to schedule and now who knows how long it is going to take, My MO ordered it because of lower back pain that is just getting worse. Oh well, machines break, can't do much about it.

Penny ..Great idea about distracting ourselves when anxiety /stress sets in ..and my cupboards and drawers can always do with a good clean !!! Actually maybe I should start with the fridge !
Iris ..that's great that you have a friend going with you to the next chemo ..!!

Can I join this Crazytown thread? Diagnosed, mastectomy, staging tests this week. Uber Crazytown. I never had a single symptom until the radiologist told me about my results. Now every bone aches, my tummy is extra gurguly and I imagine my liver imploding. Like I said, uber crazy. This thread is comfort that I'm not alone, or too too crazy. 💕

Welcome, Joyseeker! Pull up a rocking chair and have a cup of tea. You are not alone.

Joyseeker..of course you can join us Crazy lot !!! Welcome !!!

Yes, welcome, Joyseeker...we have chairs on the porch as Molly says, and also a treehouse somewhere, and reading nooks, and if the tea doesn't work, there is always ice cream with ativan sprinkles!
Hugs to all!

Ice cream with Ativan sprinkles..... I like that one 💜. Currently lounging in my recliner with tea on board. You ladies seem like an uplifting, loving lot. This week I have a CT, bone scan and ultrasound. Did I mention I broke my ankle a week prior to my mastectomy? Overachiever....in the crazy department too!! (Middle School Vice Principal, that's a special kind of crazy!)

Sara, have an Ativan sundae--you've earned it!

welcome joyseeker, dang if it isn't nice to have a new groupie. The virtual atvian sundae is always on tap

Ultrasound tech said "looks pretty routine, nothing really exciting in your abdomen". Never in my life have I been so thankful for a boring abdomen

Joyseeker ..Yay for a boring abdomen 😃

So tomorrow is my CT. Plan is gravol, bannan contrast (gag), followed by an Ativan chaser. Does that constitute a Sunday with Ativan sprinkles?? 🍰🍦
0 -
Bannan contrast? You sure that's not "barium" contrast? If it is, I had one for an upper GI series (pre-endoscopy days) . when I was much younger--and they'd mixed it with a bit of malted milk powder and chocolate syrup, so it wasn't bad. The Gravol should go a long way to calming the nausea (the one time I got sick-drunk up in NS' Annapolis Valley, my friend's mom fed me peppermint tea and a Gravol--I slept 20 hrs. and woke up with nothing but a sore throat from all the puking). U.S. ladies, that's sold as Dramamine down here. Be forewarned--Gravol can make you loopy. I'd be very careful about popping an Ativan (or any other benzodiazepine) until the Gravol is out of your system, because they are both CNS depressants that are safe on their own but could be very dangerous in combination--especially if you have any preexisting respiratory problems.

Great advice. Yes. Barium. I think I'll stick to the gravol and hopefully not need anything else. I was in tears at my abdomen ultrasound today.
Love your story. I don't think I've ever been puke drunk? Maybe I'm saving that for chemo....I HATE throwing up!
0 -
Joyseeker, everyone is different, and don't know that my chemo treatment was the same as yours will be, but if it makes you feel better, I hate throwing up also, more than almost anything, but I never got that sick that I needed to puke during chemo. The nausea drugs really do seem to work...Hugs!

Joyseeker: a little late, but welcome to the CrazyTown board; you're not alone in finding those first few weeks sucked you straight down the rabbit hole. Not that treatment's exactly cheerybye, but at least you have a plan in place.....

Got it done ladies. Small sips with a plugged nose and chewing gum in between. The WORST part of my journey so far!! I get to imaging and the lady say, oh, CT was down yesterday, you might have to reschedul) WTF? More barium milkshake. I promptly take and Ativan. Turns out machine is up and working. Only a minor emotional breakdown in the changeroom ( she needed to help me change with my cast and new incision. Hopefully my chest and abdomen are "terribly boring" again.

yeap, to be told your workup is boring sounds good to me
So my new cleaning person is due shortly, hope she shows as i do like the clean house, she i hate it when they say machines are down these visits are long enough
