Joyseeker: phew that you got the test over with TODAY, so no more barium ICCKKK. (and yeah: "Oh you might have to reschedule." would be enough to suck me straight down the rabbit hole.

Hi everyone, I was re-scheduled for my bone scan. It's tomorrow, I had an appointment with my MO today and he calmed me down a little. I wasn't too thrilled with being reminded that I am high risk for mets but he said he would call me as soon as he has the results. Can I take Ativan after a glass of wine ? Jeez, hoping to get some sleep tonight. Hugs to all of you!

Hi Ladies.......After an ultrasound we found out my grandaughter has a cyst that is larger then her ovary.......it is not on the ovary but outside the ovary and has to be removed....it is 4x4x6 cm.......the Chop Dr. sent the disc tto a GYN surgeon at the University of Pa. Hosp....and now they want an MRI.....she has to have surgery. ..They are just concerned that the cyst has wrapped itself around the ovary, possibly the fallopion tube so the surgery requires someone who is very experienced in this type of conditon............I am just hoping and praying it is nothing more...........
She goes for the MRI today....I am just concerned since they are really rushing this through.....scared that they see more then they are saying.......she is 16, and I am having trouble handling this....she is the youngest of my 18 grrandchildren.........an great girl, and an honor student who is a softball pitcher for her High School.........
They told her if between now and surgery the pain gets bad llike it was before she should go immediately to Chop ER beause it means emergency surgery....appears the cyst became '"Twisted" in the beginning, and untwisted itself which made the pain a bit less, but she is lucky that happened ......otherwise it could have been very serious at the time.............who needs this.........ugh......so worried.......this is Makyla.....please say a few prayers for her......just waiting right now....

Met with PCP today about Vit C infusions. Thankfully my Heath spending Account will cover costs. Port placement next week. Waiting for date from surgeon. This is all getting real. I feel well. Why do I need to feel worse to get better??
Chinook blew in here today. Took away a foot of snow and made our yard a bit of a mud bog pit. Wind is still blowing hopefully drying things out.
My DH is encouraging a BC free day tomorrow. The worry and anxiety is more exhausting than anything physical I've ever done. Anyone else??
Ducky, I'm glad your granddaughter got some joy 💜
Here's mine. My son and his lovely GF and their grade 11 academic awards.
Rest and grace to you all tonight.

Great news, ducky!!! Beautiful picture, Joyseeker. Lucy, glad you found a place. Iris, get some good rest. I hope it's not neuropathy. I had my vestibular therapy evaluation yesterday. The therapist was very knowledgeable, likable and kind. She's pretty sure that a few sessions of therapy and me doing exercises she gave me to do at work and home will potentially get me to possibly 90%. She said I have bilateral weakness in both ears and rely on my eyes for my sense of where I am. That's why darkness is difficult for me to walk in. I have to wait for authorization for more sessions and the VNG they want to do for diagnostics. Wyatt's Okay. Not great, still having seizures but we are still early in the titration process.

You ladies might know....can I have a massage? Five weeks on crutches and awkward sleeping with mastectomy has done a number on my hips and back....here's hoping.
0 -
Joyseeker: as always, check with your MO but I had massages all through my treatment without a problem, though mine was less complicated than yours. But YES boy howdy did it feel nice! Just mention your treatment issues to the massage therapist as well (are you still having problems lying on your stomach?).
0 -
Just remember to tell the massage therapist to either lay off your right arm or massage it gently upward towards your armpit (first, massage your armpit gently, then stroke the skin upward--on both the top & bottom--starting with the upper arm, then the middle (with elbow in the center) and finally forearm. You might also want to place pillows under your head & waist when prone so as to take pressure off your chest.

i used massage all thru treatment first time, used it as a relaxation , actually still do use it to relax, i did get lessons in lyphedema massage as i had slight issue with that

Back in CrazyTown, but for non-medical reasons. Got home from shopping (trip cut short by a sudden storm) to make myself a cappuccino. But my Aeroccino stopped making foam--just began rattling & heated the milk with a little bit of unstable foam. Same thing with the cold-froth button, except (of course) not hot. Went online to Nespresso, but online chat was unavailable, so I decided to try the 24/7 phone number instead. Only my landline cordless phone & extensions all said "Check tel line" and there was no dial tone. Checked all connections & they were secure (and the landline had worked this morning).
And so begins the wild goose chase. My phone, internet & cable are bundled. Went to my ISP's site and logged into chat. Typed in my problem. Got a tech who introduced herself, asked for my address, thanked me for my 16 years with them...and then asked "What is your question?" I stifled a scream and typed all over again. She said she would send a signal to the modem, but that it would terminate the chat and I should shut down the computer, wait 3 minutes, restart, and then log back into the chat. I asked how I could make sure I reached her and not someone else, and she said as long as it was less than 15 min. after terminating the chat, it'd still be her. So I followed her instructions (and noticed the error message on the phone had changed to "Line in use", and got back online. All w/in 6 min. Logged into the chat and...yup, someone else answered. Had to go through EVERYTHING (including the address and "thanks for your loyalty" bullshit all over again). And then..."How can I help you today?" This time I didn't stifle the scream (he couldn't hear it anyway). I repeated the original problem, as well as what his predecessor had said and done.I also said I didn't appreciate having to retype everything all over again (especially in a teeny non-enlargeable font--if I zoomed in, the chat window froze), and he asked for the chat log ID number. It was the same as before, and he said there was no record of it. Then he gave me instructions on power-cycling the modem. I told him that I was having no problem with the internet, which was connected to the same modem. He insisted I power-cycle it anyway and I did--no change (error message kept toggling between "Check tel line" and "Line in use"). He told me to pull the battery from the modem, only the mechanism & location differed from what he told me. Still no change. Was going to inform him of that--but this time HE ended the chat. (Mind you, my computer is downstairs in the front and the modem upstairs in the back, so I got in a lot of stair-climbing & descending).
So I gritted my teeth, and went to my purse (in the kitchen) to get my cell and speak to an actual human who could walk me through the whole rigamarole. After 15 min. (during which time I kept getting elevator music interspersed several times with "Did you know many problems can be solved by power-cycling your modem?" and I cursed a blue streak because I knew nobody would hear me and hang up), I got a live human, who re-sent a signal four times (and it took forever for each reboot) as I kept checking all the landline phones--which all said "Check tel line." She had me plugging the line into every conceivable jack, to no avail. Finally, she said it had to be an issue with the phone line (ya THINK?), either a lightning strike (not likely, as my internet never went down) or squirrels using the line as a chew toy.
So, like a millennial, I am without a landline and must rely on my cell till at least Monday afternoon. Texted everyone who conceivably needs to call me at home and told them to use my cell until further notice. But now I have to haul it around with me even in the house. What an effing PITA! At least I won't be awakened all night by the hospital trying to reach Bob on our landline--he's stuck using his cell too.
And I still can't make a cappuccino without firing up the big machine, waiting 20 min. for it to heat, and using G-d-knows-how-much electric power. I go around the house turning off TVs, lights, A/Cs, fans...and still we use 3X as much energy as our neighbors, according to ComEd's official scolds. (There are three lights and a fan we can't turn off (they share circuits with other things we need)--so we'll have to get an electrician to come in too.
At least I can drink...up to a point.

sandy, now i think that sounds so much like me! Not like you I came downstairs the other day and saw a message on my answering machine saying check battery. After realizing the system which is the answering machine plus 2 extensions in thenhouse, well it is 25 years old. I went on line and ordered a new one.
Sorry as you have a much fancier coffer machine than mine
Feeling down this morning, not sure why

Iris, sorry you are feeling down, sending you ((((hugs))) and sorry that technology is making you crazy Sandy!
I spend the day at Yosemite National Park today; just had to get out and enjoy some sun and a tiny bit of walking, after brunch at the Majestic (Formerly Ahwahnee) Hotel. I thought the Crazies might appreciate Gabe's excitement at seeing a sign about bears (but he is the only bear we saw!)

Gabe looks so cute. We spread my mom's ashes in the ocean today. Beautiful day with sea lions and a pelican to entertain us. Got to spend time with my oldest niece who lives in Tulsa.

well my mood is much better today. I called a pal to see if she could give me a ride to this weeks chemo. Wow as she picked up her phone and just said what time do you need me to pick you up! I have great friends and never knew how great they were
