Slow- remotitis- haha good one. And that's the good one. Just inflammation. What you do NOT want is remotosis. Although I think technically this would mean you'd have to get new batteries or replace your remote, not your face. Glad we are all still laughing.

    Thinking of Rainny this morning.

    Hello Crazies

    How is everyone this morning/afternoon?

Rainny thinking of you! i hope your DH will slip you a sip of bubbly on the way home in that limo he ordered.

    Happy

Slow that's hilarious re the remotosis. PS had the herceptin yesterday. So far so good with that and the Tamox, it's just these dang shooting nerve pains in mt right SI joint. Unnerving, if you will. Re your new 'diet' regime, I'm a little worried for you! Working out an ROM program sounds important for you. Do you have a PT?

Katy are the roofers still banging away? Hopefully you and Jack can escape on some of those errands you mentioned.

Tomboy, that's sweet of you to say re an easy to draw face and funnily I actually worked all though college through my early 30's as a 'model' for sculptors and painters. Maybe I should look some of them up and see if they'd like to revisit their former 'subject' at 50 with one breast. I'd do it.

LBF hope you have some good things planned for yourself this week while you await the test results.

Ducky what a peach your granddaughter is; just beautiful.

PST and a few of you who mentioned ribs. The ribs are involved with the Liver/GB meridian in TCM and when we have breast surgery that meridian is directly affected. So from a traditional Chinese standpoint, rib pain/discomfort is not at all unusual after these surgeries. Thankfully that's one place my roaming pains have not landed and it might be because I have been doing acupuncture since right after Mx.... just a thought in case any of you have considered exploring it.

On that note I am off to acupuncture; hopefully it will assist working out my SI joint.

Hugs to all and more to follow, since I seem to live in CT these days

SlowDeep: yep--last full zap in about forty minutes, then three boosts. Distracting myself with Hulu and Netflix streaming to distract myself from wondering about the boosts.

Gaia, That's me....a day late and a dollar short!! So sorry I messed up the day. Wishing you minimal SE's!! I hope the acupuncture helps your pain!! Yes, I will restart PT when I'm done with testing. There was a conflict between the pain management PT doctor and my local one. The pain management doctor said no TENS unit because they don't want to stimulate blood flow in the area.....not good for cancer patients. The local PT doctor has been using TENS on me and never mentioned anything about stimulating blood. I want to do more research before I start up again. I HATE conflicting info.

So close Queen!! You're in the zapper home stretch!!

    Keep Us- Peter Bradley Adams

I wanted to share this song with my Crazies today. It's called Keep Us. The singer songwriter, Peter Bradley Adams said about it-......."it's good if a song can lift us out of the madness, even if only for a few minutes"

    Sounded perfect for Crazytown.

Slow, interesting as your doc says no Tens therapy, dang but that has been one of the nice things about my therapy for my back. Love the Tens and was thinking about getting one of the home units as my medicare may end soon and will need to figure a plan to get through on my own

Tens therapy feels like a massage of electrical impulses, they put little pads on my back and then it vibrats and sort of massage the area. It seems to help break up the tight muscles. There are home units that are sold at the drug store but my PT is not a fan of them as he believes you need the hands on work for it to help. One of the big (forget who) basketball players is on TV promoting the home thing. The electrical pads need to be placed in the right area to help, or that is my experience

Katy, I love PBA and have this song on my iPod. Great song!!

Ducky, What a beautiful picture of Grayson and Isabella!!

PTS, I have a TENS unit at home. Most insurance companies will cover the cost if your PT recommends it.

    Slow Deep breaths

I know what an erotic driver looks like on the freeway.

When I was much younger my girlfriend and I were driving the LA freeway, bumper to bumper slow moving and both of us happened to glance over to the right as a motorcycle was going by and he was taking care of himself on the bike (while moving at a good clip) if you know what I mean.

We both just froze, said nothing for about 20 seconds and afterwards we thought of all of the little quips we could have said to him to put him in his place!

Can you imagine if he rear ended someone? No - not that way!

the caranage all over the road. How do you spell carnage?

    hey Crazies,

Dr. Suzuki got in late last night rom Japan. We were having coffee this morning and I asked him about herceptin only trials in Japan right now. He said they're 3 yrs in to a 5 yr trial, 800 patients 2 arms one is Herceptin plus chemo. The other is herceptin alone for small tumors no nodes.

    Gaia,

Also asked about herceptin alone for Stage IV and he nodded as though that seemed like something he knew. Will ask more after he is less jet lagged.

    Meanwhile,

Purchased what I couldn't get out of our garden for tomorrow's feast. Will ply him with Indian delicacies and see what info I can extract. Any other questions while we have our captive oncologist??

Also because of my cold capping success he's ordered a bunch of caps for his hospital.

Kathy.. BaHaHa 😃 Gosh.. That's a step "worser " than talking on the cell phone than driving.!!

Ducky.. Gorgeous photo of Grayson and Isabella 😘

Sula.. Enjoy your time entertaining your friend, and picking his brains.. Sounds like he's had things to discover from you from the cold - capping too.. I haven't really read anything on the cold capping, but do most people have the wonderful results with it that you've had?

Slow.. HaHaHa... After I wrote the comment I thought everyone must of thought it was too rude , and shocked by it ! :-)

    kathy,

Omg!! I never ever saw that in all my years on the LA freeways, but I'd ha e paid good money too just to be able to tell the story!!!! Wow!!!

    Slow,

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love this thread! Never heard that about TENS machines. I have one for a back issue but have rarely used it. Hmmmm, I'll have to ask my doc.

    Ducks,

The girls are so cute and I love those matching dresses. So eager to start school, wow remember those days.

    Rain,

Hope the day went well for you and you had a smooth ride home in your limo.

    Tom,

I'll ask right now I'm dealing with the fact that the doc just dumped on me that he's allergic to shrimp....guess what my entree is... Yeah 2 lbs of shrimp here. Sigh. He's out getting zonked at a winery right now. It would be an honor to be drawn by you by the way.

    Gaia,

I could definitely see you as an artists model, no matter how many or few breasts you have.

Anyway I'm going to be up late tonight cooking and prepping. Our nurse friend from UCSF is coming tomorrow night also with her husband so it will be a very medical dinner I think. Off to prep effplants

kathy, you brought back a funny memory: years ago my then boyfriend and I were driving down a winding, narrow mountain road....following a large pick up truck. The truck was going fairly slow, but there was no way to pass them, so we followed....in the bed of the pickup was a guy sitting on a chair (!)...who had a series of strange looks on his face..ending in a shit eating grin...we couldn't see below his waist, because of the relative sizes of the truck and our small car...SOO,, anyway, after maybe ten minutes he closes his eyes, grin turns to look of satisfaction, and a young lady who was below our field of vision suddenly sat up, smiled at us, and gave us a big thumbs up....

I have to admit that suddenly my BF started getting ideas. I pointed out that it was just the two of us, not two in the back with a driver up front, and he could just forget it. (for the time being at least :-))

Oh yeah Sula, try to kill the doc, huh! Sorry about that shrimp though, seems he would have mentioned it sooner. Don't people with allergies mention things like that sooner?

I guess you could ask them the question that is always running through MY head: How come I have so many positive nodes(25) and am stage lllc, and so many women on the stage 4 forums are node negative??? Or with just a few positive nodes? It almost haunts me. I do know that it was somewhere near a scant ten or so years ago before they changed the way they staged it, I WOULD have been staged as four with that many nodes positive. I read that late somewhere one night, and can't find it again. I know in my papers it said metastatic to the axilla, and also BS told me that it "had legs". Does he know when that changed? Or maybe why they changed it? I hope the guests tomorrow do like shrimp, or me and Beppy will fly down for a day!

Wow Ladies, As usual so much food for thought and delicious sharing

I for one had a really up and down day. AND/BUT checking in here periodically took me out of my head and in to my heart and I smiled and laughed when I visited our amazing and vibrant town

Ducky the girls are beauties and what a journey for them as sisters.

Sula oh my the Onc from Japan with the shrimp allergy. you are a professional: you will WERK it I am certain

Kathy- that is a pretty great story to have in your pocket

Octo and yours 'behind it' if you will. I'm sure it all worked out for your 'then boyfriend' later

and yes Slow- I would rather be nowhere than with a group of ladies who didn't bat an eyelash at a bit or a lot of 'saying it like it is'.

Katy you beautiful soul I love the links you have been posting. How are you today? Thinking of you.

Tom I too wonder about the mystery of it all. I see many people in similar scenarios to mine- large mass- but with MANY more nodes and nope they are IIIA- IIIC. why with only one node did the beast travel? it's interesting. maybe the many protected the one and the one could not protect the many?

    Love all of you so

ps rainny hope you are resting and comfortable

have no fear crazies... Not killing the doc... He will have a veg menu.. Actually the whole menu is vegetarian except for the shrimp which was there for peeps who need their "meat". He's been to our house before but I never kept track of what he was eating as in the past it was always an Indian buffet that I fixed. This is an actual dinner party. Maybe I can ask him that at coffee tomorrow morning if he's not too hung over.. He's wine tasting tonight. They've got 2 more years of the herceptin only trials in Japan but the amazing thing is any Japanese who has any medical thing done or goes to the hospital or doctor never sees a bill for anything. They've got single payer over there. The only thing I've heard about staging with HER2+ is that it's sneaky in that it can jump the nodes or just hit one then go somewhere else. Even size of the mass is no indicator which is what I was told which is why they checked other stuff for me even with a 7mm tumor. HER2 is creepy but at least they have good drugs for it
