Pingpong, yes, definitely fiddly I was using huge magnifying glass on a stand, but please do not get false impression that I am some great expert, I absolutely am not, it was my first ever gold work. I was lucky enough to go on a 2 day course, a birthday present (which I suggested) from DH, so I learned at that. On the course we were told that in the past people sometimes used water in a glass bowl to magnify. I was so grateful for my lovely €35 magnifier! (Christmas pressie). Cannot imagine how people managed in the past. Did they have better eyes or did they all just go blind?

10,000 stitches Feeling.
Boggles the mind......
Love the imagery of the hare, unusual angle.
I think they did go blind younger in the olden days.
But they didn't live to old age often, so their eyes didn't need to last them into their 80s. No antibiotics so an abscess on a tooth as a child could kill you... Nasty !
Enjoy your hols.

Love the dreamcatchers. I have one (not as pretty or delicate) on my bed post.
It's got its work cut out dealing with my DH's nightmares......LOL

Ok, I'll join. I'm a professional artist actually, I do sculpture, pottery, painting, photography and graphic design. On the side I crochet. Here is an afghan I made that won Best in Show at our Fair this year.

Thank you Wren! I have so little time for the fun stuff anymore. Here is a bronze I did a few years back (it's the iron cross that only men are allowed to hold in the olympics. I wanted a women permanently holding that strength position). Gotta get back into sculpture.

Accidently found this thread and am thoroughly enjoying the talent. OMG!! Such beautiful works. Hand work, sculpture, painting, and photography. I don't get much time to paint but I'll attach my latest watercolor. It is of a Bearded Iris in the rain. Its also my chosen user photo.

our quilt show is coming up in 1 week. I've put these two in to be judged.

I just love the second one. The blocks look like glass tiles.

Fabulous Smaarty! I remember seeing the block one before or was it a green version that was similar? I love the way the fabric in the boarder picks up so many of the colours in the blocks. The butterflies look like they are flying out towards the viewer off the other quilt it is so 3D. I love it!!

Quilt show is finally over. 4 days of work, I'm exhausted! I didn't win any ribbons, didn't rely expect to. Was hoping to get a raffle basket but didn't win that either. Now to get busy finishing the next opportunity quilt. Taking 13 blocks with me to retreat this weekend to put on corners and square up.
