this is a series of minimal female figures I painted on during my first BC. They are some of my favorite pieces I have made and are hanging i the home of a collector. Now my BC it's back I have a new series I started that are dramatic and edgy female figures. The new series is my first move away from minimalism and negative space.0 -
Wow so minimal and yet absolutely do suggest the female figure! Sorry to hear you are having to deal with the BC again. Best wishes with the new artworks.

Happy Easter! Latest project for the grand kids. I love thus pattern because it takes just a few minutes. Then you stitch in the two ends, for a couple of minutes. Stick a safety pin in, and there you go. First one is acryluc, 2nd is cotton Bon bons.

Feline, I've been picking up beach bits for years and it never occurred to me to make little birds with them. Those are really cute.

Tried to post a picture but kept getting error message
Fish Over Troubled Water
This piece began with a simple fish pin purchased at a thrift shop. The central wave chasing the fish is composed of fresh water pearls from my broken wedding necklace. The gold buoy below the fish was the pearls' claps. The gold wire fishing neck on the back of the piece was created with solder. The ocean strands are composed of ruby, emerald, and sapphire beads. At the top of the net there is a gold tarnished ribbon that hangs over the fish, which is hard to see in the picture. This was created with solder by accident....a fortuitous accident because the ribbon shape made me realize how connected I was to the piece. I had begun working on the piece shortly after being diagnosed with breast cancer. The piece is about navigating life's many storms.

lindawolf1955: does the error message say your image is too biog. You could try resizing it and post again. I would like to see it, it sounds glorious.

Wow Miriandra! Stylish and soft. Must have been a lot of work to crochet something so intricate.

It's actually a fairly simple pattern - just three different stitches. The most challenging part was inserting the sleeves, since I adapted it from a scarf pattern.

I was struggling with my BC recurrence and had to write to get my frustration out. Here's what came out:
I have experienced breast cancer twice and I am not used to it
I have scars that remind me everyday of what I have endured
I have to put on a brave face to get through everydayThis is not a journey, it's my life and reality everyday
This is not me being strong, it's me being alive
This is not something I will forget, it's carved into meYou can't tell me how you would feel if you had breast cancer
You can't say that my life will be back normal soon
You can't tell that me you want to help if you are afraid toIt won't fade away with time
It can come back again for a third time
It is a fear that is on the prowl in my mindYou are my friends, family and partner
That will not ever change
Even when I have been changed forever(c) Lisa Sole Williams 202
