Happy Spring everyone! Praline, Thinking of you and get where you head is, but if the case was presented, as my was also to the board, go with that it is like a second opinion done for you.
Today is CHEMO#3 - I am so happy that I had a great weekend , with no issues! it had been so long! It was my daughters Ella's 8th birthday and they did indoor Skydiving! WOW, then on Sunday, my 9 year old , had a gymnastic competition and took 1st place!! What a Weekend!! Piper - Looking good! beautiful family.Suzted7 - I hope that you are feeling better. thinking of you.
So I just talked to the nurses and they told me to get rid of the metallic mouth we should cook with lemon on our chicken. anything acidic will help get rid of the taste. good to know!

Piper, what a beautiful family! Hope all goes well for you today. Time to get a bunch of this stuff resolved!
MLP3, nice to feel human again. Looks like you had a great time.
France's, looking good, Girl
I spent the weekend running around to stores, gardening and generally forgetting about the big C. I did get a nasty rash on my chest and hands but I think it may just be seasonal allergies mixed with digging in the dirt. Benadryl cream took care of it!
I head for #3 on Wed. Then I'm halfway there! Only 3 more to go after that. Sending lots of love around and thinking about all of you!

MLP3~ Love that you went skiing! great family pic! NOLA~Prayers for your sister!

Frances- congrats on a wonderful and successful weekend! Funny... I've only had two chemo treatments, yet I can't stomach to look at pictures of infusion settings... Makes me nauseous! But you look beautiful in yours
Myra- I can't wait to start gardening! Are you wearing a mask? I'll have to ask my mo next week about that.

thank you ladies! MLP lovely family photo!! Gorgeous. Fran - very nice
Thank you for the well wishes. No way I could get out of town and back before RO conference today. Should've realized. Tuesday chemo and BS appt Wedneday and then after will have my MRI. It would be a real rush if there was serious concern right?
Will find out about radiation soon.
Piper

Sounds like a plan Piper! And yes... I'd be comforted by the no rush deal;)

meeting with RO confirmed radiation. She discussed my MRI. The issue is in the lymph node and she wants a skin punch biopsy. That can't be done before MRI. This week all should be done.
There is a risk of my tooth going septic with chemo now. Arghhhhh! May be put off until antibiotics. Need mouth X-ray.

hi everybody! I read everything that there's too much to respond. I was so sick the last few days I could barely get out of bed. Coming around yesterday, actually made it to work today! Still have a lingering cough and laryngitis though
0 -
MLP- You're an inspiration! Beautiful pic!
Frances- so glad you had a good weekend! You deserve it!
Piper- 🙏 For you this week. So no dental work til after chemo? I really haven't heard of this, and now fearful I have a cracked tooth :-(
My sister's results- DCIS - BS suggested BMX/reconstruction. She is 35. We are thankful the biopsies did not show IDC/ILC but won't know for sure until mastectomy path results. She will be scheduling meetings with plastic surgeons this week. I am in a fog and can't remember if DCIS is given a grade or tested for hormone receptors. Does anyone know

Nola so glad about your sister. I'm sure a specialist cancer dentist would do work. It depends what it is. If I have an infection chemo could spur on sepsis. I can have an X-ray and perhaps a temp filling. Antibiotics will take care of the pain

piper- chemo brain here... This is for a new lump after your surgery?
Just got a bill for $2k that's overdue from my December core biopsy... Called the lab in California who sent the bill and guess what...? They were given the wrong insurance company by the local hospital! My husband is on now arguing with the lab rep that we 1. Don't owe the money 2. This is not our responsibility as we don't have the ins that she's claiming we do 3. No... WE ARE NOT PAYING THIS BILL TO CLEAR UP THE PROBLEM.
He is now faxing our insurance card and she's still trying to say that it's well overdue...
WTF is wrong with customer service?

MLP different issue, opposite breast. Symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer.
I am beyond angry about your bill! Hope there is a resolution soon.

Hello all fab febs, I'm crawling along trying to keep up but post Chemo 2 I feel really crappy and my back went out--like, really?? Yes really hahaha. My best thoughts for all of you getting needed care as soon as possible and timely tests. So hard on us to wait. ((Hugs))

I too am dragging along after #2. Im very achy and slept most of the weekend. I am very tired of drinking water and my body protested today so I enjoyed unsweetened ice tea with lemon and it brighten my day. Keep pushing ladies. Im looking forward to being out and about for Easter weekend so I will take these down days for now.

#3 done today! Halfway there! Next on to Taxotere and Hercepton.
LTF I am happy to hear you are coming around to feeling better. Since we are on the same regimen I am always looking to see how this is going for you. I hope you get over your cough and get a good week in before your next tx. I am always amazed that you get out there to work! I feel maybe week 3 I could work, but not my full time hours! Your determination and spunk always inspire me!
Piper, just love the picture. What a lovely family you have! I hope you get all your results soon. Waiting is so hard. Also, I really hope you get relief from whatever is going on with your tooth.
MLP3- wow just love that you had a day out skiing and what a great photo! Haven't skied in years but always loved the feeling. I am sure it was so refreshing!
Frances-chemo #3 for me too! Didn't realize we were the same day, or maybe I did and forgot! Apparently although I was already in menopause for many years (I'm 53), chemo has put me into full force menopause! I'll blame that if I forgot!
Nola - i believe both but quite unsure myself. I am sure someone knows for sure. Pathology was the determining factor on all my treatments.
Myra- all the best with #3 on Wed! I will be so happy when this phase is past. Seems so long with the wait between all treatments!
Found out today my ultrasound on my neck by where they put in the needles will be after my next tx in 3 weeks. Will be a long day, 815 for chemo and 130 for ultrasound, but from what I understand the Hercepton takes an hour and a half the first time given.
Thinking of you all!

Imani - I dragged more through tx number 2 than 1 for sure. Even had a day I was really weepy. I am hoping this one will be a little easier. I don't have that same go go go that I did after my first treatment today. I think I was so anxious the first time. Probably once I want to sleep and take my night time steroids I will suddenly be awake! I hope each day gets better for you and you have a wonderful Easter weekend
Have to call my own dentist tomorrow and cancel my appt for April....no cleaning for me I was told, again why I worry about my own teeth!

All your photos look gorgeous... They send lots of positive energy

Imani and Reflect- I was also totally wiped out after #2 chemo. I was told its cumulative:(
Piper- sending positive thoughts your way my friend😘
Karen- congrats on being half way through!

Myra - my rash started when I was gardening too - the sun? the heat? the weeds/pollen with low immunity? I don't know. I put hydrocortizone on it - it calmed it down but it didn't go away completely. I have a benadryl cream too - I'll try that next!
One week til #3 for me - hugs to all!

Imani- I finally felt much better today. I'm a day behind you & I, too, slept all weekend. At one point I thought, "How is it I can sleep this much?!" Much more tired than the first treatment, but I'm praying I'm good to go until treatment #3.
NOLA- love and hugs to you & your sister. Maybe hop on over to the DCIS board & ask if it's graded?
MLP3- what beautiful family photos. Way for you to kick ass on the slopes! I love it! Hope you get that bill figured out w/o further bad customer service. UGH! Insurance!!!!
LTF- Good to hear you made it through this cold w/o having to go back to ER.
Piper- I, too, am rooting for no hurry on the MRI! Although, I hope they're able to do something about that tooth! Poor thing!! Sounds painful and serious.
Karen- Yay! Here's to being done with part of your treatment!
Frances & Myra- cheers to #3. I look forward to all of us being done and being healthy! Beautiful picture, Frances.
Hugs to you, Reflect. I hope the fatigue & backache go away soon.
Sorry if I missed anyone. Hope you all are having a blessed start to your week.

MLP3- MO said it was fine to garden since I'm on Neulasta so no mask. He said theres more risk from viral infections than bacterial.
Chambo, the rash is gone but it's left a scabby surface. That's new!
Imani, I find during the worst of the nausea, water tastes awful! I like a little Gatorade in it to make it go down easier.
We're getting there Girls! Can't believe we're almost done with March!
I have to admit, I'm not loving the weight gain. I'm up about 6-7 lbs.Pants are now impossible to zip so it's skirts with elastic waistbands. I'm chalking it up to steroids and comfort food. I'll be glad to get back to a daily walking routine again someday. And my pants.

Hi Myra I'm losing weight again. I don't mind, but shouldn't be apparently. I asked about forgoing dexamathasone...they were increased.
Wishing healing thoughts to Monday ladies and those struggling with SEs in general. LTF I haven't bugged you; you haven't left my mind.
Here's to Terrific Tuesday's ladies. We are in pockets today. Will let you know if mine is delayed. Depends on X-ray of tooth infection and risk for sepsis.
Hey MLP, Imani, Nola, Fran, HausFrau, chambo, asher, Hanley, praline, serenity, ALL Of you !

Ugh the weight gain...I lost weight on Round 1 during the first two weeks and put most of it back on during the "feel good" week. Round 2, they upped the steroids so much trying to combat the hand reaction, that I was craving all carbs all the time, but still didn't have any more energy...bad combination!! (Icing solved the hand rash - make note - but now I have the lovely chest, neck rash - somewhere between acne and folliculits looking). At least it seems short lived. I'm hoping to cut the steroids back for Round 3 next week - carbs are my kryptonite.

Hi all! It's so hard to keep up with all you wonderful ladies! (And gents, if there are any here incognito!) But I wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you all. And especially everyone who is awaiting word on all these secondary issues! ♡
My own 4th and final dose-dense AC is DONE!! Now on to THP for 12 weeks, then Herceptin (and Perjeta??) for a year.
My weird little plastic Neulasta bulge is sitting on my belly, flashing green until 7:30ish tonight. (Breathe! Just ignore the little bugger!)
I'm making plans now for that second opinion for the great BMX-with-reconstruction this summer... going to a big city to hear about alternative techniques. It's apparently going to be an all day (12 hour), two doctor procedure: one mastectomy, then reconstruction, and then the other. There is only one plastic surgeon in all of Ithaca; and as confident as I may be in his skills, I just want to hear from one who specializes in our specific needs!
Does anyone who has been through this have any advice?

Oh, and apologies for my new avatar. Silly mood. It was my first attempt at "duck lips", and I cracked up when I saw the image in the phone.

Elise- congrats on being done with AC!
As for weight gain... I'm at my heaviest I've ever been. I've gained 12 on this journey and really disgusted with it. It all started with researching after dx, then surgery, into more research on chemo... Then chemo and no energy most days. So... I had my last comfort meal this past Sunday pm. THE LAST. Getting back to my old ways of eating when I was thin prior to all of this. I won't have the toned body I had, but that will come after weight loss and getting back to serious exercise after all of this is over. I'm not setting up crazy goals for myself right now through rads., some people tell me they slept so much during them. Setting unrealistic goals will only get me depressed about my body. Plus... I'm close to 49... Gotta be realistic about that too;)

Elise- Congratulations 🎉!
I haven't gained weight 😟 In fact, I'm struggling to keep it on. I've lost 20 pounds since this all started early last month. I gained some back when I started to feel well after treatment 1, but then I lost it plus more after this last treatment. It's really hard looking in the mirror.

Cycle 3 done and dusted. Dentist gave me the all clear. I travel for a 7pm MRI tomorrow so they can do the biopsy ASAP. Long Easter weekend may slow results but at least all should be complete this week.

Oh Piper, so glad this is in the works finally. In your pocket whatever you need, we are all cheering you on. ((Hugs))

Hello all my Fabulous February sisters. I haven't posted for a while, because I've been feeling well and have been busy working and exercising and gardening and going out and having a series of friends and visitors to stay and lots of other fun things. I've just caught up with reading all the posts and am on day 13 after my 3rd FEC and can honestly say that SEs haven't really bothered me whatsoever this time. I was worried that the SEs would be cumulative: I felt quite tired and down after #2 but didn't find this at all after #3. So I just wanted to let everyone know who is struggling today not to worry and that you can still bounce back better than ever after the next one.
Piper and LTF, take it easy and make sure you really put yourselves first and don't try to do too much until you feel 100% again I'm so sorry to hear about the rubbish time you've been having. Toothache is the last thing you want on top of this Cancer Cr@p.
Praline CONGRATULATIONS you are doing amazingly well and looking great. Love your pictures you look so smily and determined. I think it's normal for your team to have slightly different opinions. My medical team do not always completely agree on things, and I'm glad that they are honest enough to say so, I find it reassuring. Sometimes decisions are borderline, and if I were you I would definitely have gone for the chemo as I'm a believer in zapping the cancer with everything you can throw at it. It might be hard short term, but if your general health is good it must be better long term (just my personal opinion I'm obvs no expert).
MLP I'm so glad you enjoyed a day of skiing, loved your picture too but it made me jealous. I had 4 days in French Alps with my sister this time last year and wish I was there now.
I'm up early this morning with my DD who's just left for a week in Berlin on a school history trip. That will be interesting!
Love to all, let's bravely go forward together, we're all doing so well, thanks to everyone for posting: it's so supportive to hear how everyone is doing. Love to you all! X
