Hiya Scotbird! Are you watching Eve Muirhead at the Curling Worlds?
reflect- I will be taking you out tonight and at biopsy. Maybe even at BS appt this morn. I want to see the exact spot of lymph swelling and show growth over two days of rash and where it aches. Nipple is changing too. We just can't compare breast sizes now. She is also a general surgeon so will discuss possible back surgery. The compression fracture in spine is getting worse and I am mostly probably not a candidate for bone meds that help. My sister is with me too...what a blessing.
Thinking of all Tuesday girls through SEs
In pockets of all Wednesday Warriors as well.
Love and light, Piper🎀💕

HI Ladies, Sending love to all of you. Just catching up on all the blogs, as I have been off the grid. Day 3 and I am starting to feel some stomach issues and just pure fatigue. Is it 5:00pm yet? work over
Not looking forward to the upcoming weekend. But positive thoughts, half way there! Prayers to many of you out there, so sorry that you are having these new struggles.
Love to my sisters! xoxox

No posts for ages then 2 in one day! Piper I didn't know about the world curling! But go Eve! She actually loves quite near me in beautiful highland Perthshire. Amazing that her brother and Dad are also in the world champs. Maybe there is a curling gene? I am keeping everything crossed that your scan goes well. So glad that your sister is with you, too.
I meant to say before, thanks so much Serenity for the nutritional tips which were great and made me feel so much better prepared/informed. Hope it went well on Monday. Thanks to you I now have a big fruit salad and Brazil nuts for breakfast, and salad and fish for dinner, with lots of lemon on everything (thanks for that one Frances and BTW hope you are feeling better, did the gall bladder scan go OK?), and I am drinking a fair bit of lemon and grated ginger in hot water, too, it doesn't taste too bad....
Reflect hope you are feeling better.
Elise Thanks also for the Thrush treatment tip. I have the Vodka chilling ready for my first Taxol next week and am quite looking forward to trying it. What flavour do you have, I'm thinking of trying it with blackcurrant?
Myra hope it goes well today, another milestone passed! Did the wig outing go well. I went out in mine for the first time last week. It was OK but I felt like I was in disguise. My wig is called Jessie, not sure why. My hair is still clinging on but it's got really thin and straggly. I'll keep going with cold cap as I've invested too much to give up now.
Nola I was so sry to hear about your sister's diagnosis. Hope you can help each other, do you live close by?
I'll shut up again for a bit now that I've been so noisy.... Happy Easter weekend to you all. Keep well. XX

Hey Piper, Right here in your pocket working on some great riffs..something for all possible occasions, but very much hoping to let some great big YEE HAHS rip as you hear some excellent news. You, my dear, are having far too many extra crappie things going on. But this will be over soon, so you can just deal with normal cancer crap, eh? Seriously, big big hugs. And you have the best team? Right? Because you know those fancy schmancy places love to show off if you've got extra stuff going on.
I lasted until 11:30 am at work, then someone took over my class and I rolled around on the floor for a awhile then called my husband to pick me up (it's an hour each way, he was totally sweet about it). My back is still out--which is just stupid--and I am not bouncing back even though it's day 7. Wore my wig which is itchy and a bit hot. Everyone says it looks great, just like me but when I went in the ladies room it was a bit wonky lol. They'll say anything. Whipped that off the second I got in the car. Might try work again tomorrow but lesson plan is in place if not. Worried about sick time running out, then what? But...what can I do? Gleaning hope that #3 will be easier than #2. Talk about dancing with the (red) devil. Cheers all.
Piper keep us posted please.

thank you for all of the messages! I am almost at MRI appointment. reflect I miss teaching so much! Maybe next year...
BS coming in at 7am tomorrow to do punch needle biopsy on my inflammation spot so I may get results before Easter break. The team all has their hand in to get results. The lymph node is measuring just over 13 mm
Ladies, I'm in positive spirits, however, don't mind telling you I'm very scared. My husband isn't holding up very well.

Hello all! I am no longer feeling sick! Yay! What sucks is tomorrow is Round 3 so I hardly had any FEEL GOOD days after Round 2. I had exactly 3. So...I had a hamburger from the grill and French fries for my "last" meal before tomorrow. Plus...I am making nachos tonight too (my downfall) WITH pickled jalapenos...! I've had thrush with each round and have my lozenges ready (absolutely horrible tasting) but I think I may try the vodka trick. I don't drink so ill get a flavored one...wouldn't hurt to swallow a shot. Lol....so good luck to those going in for their rounds!

Piper, will they give you MRI and Biopsy results by Friday?? I hope so! I've been thinking about you all day.
THe wig shopping started out as a fiasco but ended in success. I tried on every wig in the store until I realized my actual hair is about half the amount of a regular wig. They don't make them thin and scrawny so they all looked too obvious wiggish. We ended up buying a wig cap and rows of extensions in my color. I sewed the tracks to the caps in 4 separate rows from top to bottom and when I put a baseball cap on, you can't tell it's not my hair. It's real human hair and my ears stick out just like my real hair. I wore it to the bank and a meeting and no one even flinched! The caps a little tight so I wouldn't want to wear it all day but it's nice to have for an emergency when I don't want to explain anything.

Scotbird- so glad to hear you're feeling so well! I need to soak up some of your energy! My sister just closed on her house last Friday, so now we live 8 min. away from each other :-)
I have #5 Taxol tomorrow and my sister has consult with surgeon. Moving right along....
Happy hump day everyone!

Thank you Scottbird for the positive push. I am having my 3rd FEC next Monday and I was so worried due to my bad experience with dose #2. Now, I feel more relieved.
Wishing you all happy spring...stay strong ladies

Ok...I have a probably dumb question. For us ER positives.....I read somewhere that we should NOT take Vitamin C supplements. No problem. I happen to LOVE fruit. The majority has vitamin C. Do I have to stop eating it...or just cut back?
0 -
Suzted7- I don't know definitely. However, I feel that natural vitamins located in fresh fruit/veggies is fine. Supplements are a different story due to the high % of daily dose

Piper, sending hugs! Have you tried an acid reducer like Pepcid? I took one at the first sign of reflux and it calmed it right down. Hope you're feeling better

Piper, daahling, it's not how you feel it's how you look, and you look mahvelous. Just like me! Big (((((((hugs))))))))

Thinking of you Piper:)
Suzted- I was told no supplements, especially antioxidants because they interfere and try to heal the cells that chemo is trying to kill. My mo and everything I've read days to get all vitamins from foods. Just don't add a supplement. Plus... Oranges taste much better than a pill;)
I'm flat out exhausted this week and this is supposed to be my good week. I went from having a blast skiing on Sunday,to sleeping late and taking naps this week. I just feel and look cancer tired. But I'm trying my best to do some laundry and I even got out for dinner last night at our favorite place. Came home, got cozy on the couch with my husband to watch a movie and he falls asleep! Every night he falls asleep while we are watching tv. So... I kinda lost it last night. I told him to go to bed n he refused and kept falling asleep! I'm alone all day. Especially after this second round being so tired. Only talk to my dogs or everyone on this thread. I told him it's so very lonely, especially when nobody here really understands how I feel, how I'm trying to hold it together and what I'm really going through, mentally and physically. I'm trying to stay up and be normal and watch a movie with him... He could at least try with me. Ugh.

thanks Mama! Only supplement that I have been taking is Silica for my hair (I'm cold capping) and an occasional Biotin. I do drink my wolf berry juice drink, which is a natural antioxidant, but it's actually "food" so thinking I'm OK.
Piper- hang in there my girl! Do you have your anti-nausea? Hope you're feeling better today and can get some relief.
MLP- I understand where you're coming from with husband. I try my best to be patient with mine...but they aren't in our shoes, and sometimes frankly, mine just pisses me off. But I know he always means well...and he is my cold capper (so I have to play nice, lol). He has taken 12 half days off of work to come with me to chemo. But sometimes, he doesn't understand when I can't do what I normally do, and he gets frustrated. I tell him I'm frustrated too. Just can't wait for this time to be over

just an update ladies
My biopsy was done quickly and I have to rest. Just have to watch for infection. My nausea could be mix of contrast dye and chemo. I'm watching the symptoms.
Of course won't have results for a week. They did it today to dry and dye the biopsy samples so they can get the results after Easter weekend.
Love to all

Rest well Piper, are you home? Rest, rest.

ok Piper! That's over with! Relax this weekend. We're all here for you!
MLP3, you too! Xoxox

Piper- glad that's over! I get yucky feeling with contrast too. So the combo is probably getting to you. Rest up and let everyone take care of you. ((Hugs))
Nolagirl- yup... He gets to me too. Brings home work frustrations, the deep breaths and sighs of work issues, conference calls while yelling because he has both ear buds in... That's how I start most weekends and end most weekends. And when I tell him he stresses me out, he says "I know, I'm sorry" but then does it again! I really think I've been too strong through all of this and they all think I'm fine:(
