Myra......ME TOO!!!! It's weird. I had my chemo on Thursday and I am more up this time. A little jittery actually. So different than the last two times. I don't know what to make of it. I AM getting a litle tired now probably because I'm over doing it trying to keep busy. Well...I will ride the train.....do t know where and how it will end up...but I we have no xhoice right? Oh..Buzzing my hair today. I'm not looking forward to it but I gotta. It's still past my shoulders but the crown is extremely thinned out so.....time to come off I guess. Darn it.😞😞😞

Hi friends, just waking up since Wednesday. I have never felt so drained, but the SE have been much easier I will say. I just can't stand or walk for more than a few minutes. Hard to eat or drink when you are sleeping the whole time. Piper, prayers you are okay.
I understand the spouse frustrations, mine has been home, but feels he is on a mini vaca So this is his time.. There is so much more to say, but I will keep the peace for now.
Thinking of you all and wish I could give each of you a big hug for Easter!
Back to bed..

my daughter won regionals public speaking today. Wow! Quite an accomplishment. This was the best visit today after their early morning trek and then back home to share with me. I'm feeling much better. Still not sure when I can go home but spirits are good xo

Piper, you must be so proud, wow, public speaking! One of the hardest things to do! Glad you are feeling better. No news on what's going on? So nice to see your lovely family.
Yesterday the chemo nurse asked, how much water have you had to drink today? And then threatened (nicely) to haul me in for IVs when I couldn't answer the question. It's hard to remember, and do all that stuff when you're sleeping and feeling crappy all the time, right? But, she was right, and today I am much much better.
My son shaved my head to neaten up the wispy grandpa look. He put this vaguely familiar music on while he was doing it, so I asked what it was.
Theme from Breaking Bad.
Such a naughty boy. But I did laugh.

Happy Easter, all! What a great time to focus on Springtime and budding trees and flowering gardens and new life! And since cancer stinks like poo, may it fertilize the beauty within us all!

piper,
I just did that... Spent Tuesday-Friday in the hospital checking for everything under the sun. Turned out to be my body just gave out after my last treatment. Home now. Returning for bloodwork to determine if I will continue treatment or skip a week on Wednesday.
Best wishes to feeling better!
Elizabeth

Happy Easter, Sisters. I started chemo February but after 2 sessions my doctor decided to interrupt it for 3 weeks to check with cardiologist my heart issues. Worry so much about it. He said with ER+ it's OK. Is it?

Hi Mylen,
Welcome to the Fab Febs, and sorry you have to be here.
So your oncologist is worried about your heart and wants to check on it before continuing chemo? And you are worried about the break in treatment, but doc says it's OK?
Others will be along with more info than I have, but I have seen others takes breaks for various concerns so it's not an uncommon thing I think. And of course you need to take care of your heart. Sometimes the oncs switch to different chemo regimes when there are problems. What chemo drugs have you started? I'm not sure why ER+ would make a difference in taking a break, but someone else will know! Please try not to worry!

Hi reflect!
Thank you for your reply and support. My heart was not good before so I am getting only 4 TC because it's should be easy on the heart. Still not easy for my.
0 -
Mylen, Gosh, no it's not easy. But it sounds like your onc is taking good care and paying attention to your tolerance of the chemo, and that's necessary. I think because you are ER+ there are more options to try if something doesn't work for you. Hang in there, we are all fighting the same thing and we are here for you.

hi ladies
Still In my little isolation oasis. In and out yesterday, took a bad turn last night; feeling much stronger this morning. Think I will try some glorious Easter Monday hospital breakfast. Want to join me?

Piper- so sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch. Hoping it's only one rough patch and then after this, It's downhill. Let us know if Doc gives any updates. I'll join you for breakfast! 💕
I am making apt. With GYNO today. I have had a breakthrough period and have had HEAVY bleeding for 9 days. It definitely sloughed off a bit, but still bleeding. Totally uncharacteristic of my normal cycle. MO said could be caused by Taxol, but they want to rule anything else out.
Happy Monday everyone

no breakfast for me today.. I've been down for the count the last 2 days...usual SEs. Getting used to the cycle but can't wait to be done. Piper, hope you're done soon too!
Gonna go back to sleep.. Not much else to do. Hugs all around.

Piper! Am hoping you are on your way to Much better days than you have been having! Hope they served you a a yummy breakfast!
One week since my last FEC infusion. Only thing really bothering me is a tickle in my throat that just won't quit. Has created a cough from the constant tickle. I may just try the vodka today to try to clear it up. No fever or anything. 2 more weeks until my Taxotere. Heart scan this week. Oh and sleeping just is all over the place. No clue why!
Thoughts are with you all! Xox

Myra- I was told the same about SE's being cumulative. But now they are starting to kick in?
Piper- in your pocket my fiend! Did you develope a fever? Just didn't feel right? What are they saying? Congrats on your dd!! ((Big hugs))
Suzted- how's the buzz cut? I felt so much better after I had it done. It's easier when the little shards fall off vs long strands.
Frances- feel better!
Eliz- how are you feeling?
Mylen- what heart symptoms did you have? Hope you're getting well taken care of;)
Soooo... Last week I was in the house and spent most of my time in bed. I was just flat out exhausted. I also get these flutters that go up to my throat... Anyone else get these? Are they anxiety flutters?
I went to NY to visit my dd to watch her play lacrosse and have Easter dinner with her and the weekend just wore me down. I hope I don't have low counts heading into chemo number 3 tomorrow.
And because I was so tired... While at my parents for Easter dinner last night I took a tumble. I poked fun at my sister and mimicked her stretching her tight jeans with my foot up on a wing backed chair... The chair slipped on the hardwood and I fell hard. I smashed my knee on the hardwood floor and cannot put any pressure on it today. It's so painful. My oldest dd is taking me to the orthopedist soon to get an X-ray as I didn't want to go to the ER and sit for hours in germ city.
Just what I need heading into chemo tomorrow. Ugh.

I seem to still have a small pony tail hangin' on....so I've put off buzzing my head. It's Soooooo thin....lol....but I can get away with wearing a baseball cap for now. Myra..MLP.....this round was WEIRD. I'm just confused. The SE's hit last night so I guess it's a delayed reaction for round 3. Hmmmm...the achy joints definitely started. I've managed to hold off Thrush this time. They gave me liquid to gargle and it's working. No nausea either. So....all in all....WEIRD!

piper in your pocket. Hope you bust out of the hospital soon

So... Here I am. In this brace 24/7 1-2 weeks, then during the day for another two weeks after that. Crutches until I can put weight on it without pain. I strained my mcl and it's a bit loose at the top. Follow up MRI to make sure it's healing n I don't need surgery. This is a big WTF heading into chemo tomorrow.

MLP- Oh crap! Take care, my friend. Crutches too?? Aww, man.
Piper- still thinking of you today. I hopped in your pocket as well.
Myra- take care! Hope the SE's ease up for you!
Suzted- hoping this week gets better for you!
Well, my ultrasound went well today. Looks normal. But GYNO still wants to do a biopsy of endometrium to rule out anything else. The bleeding has definitely subsided...not gone completely, but hoping will be gone for good in the next couple of days. He won't blame it on Taxol until we have ruled everything else out 😞

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good Easter!
Piper - I've been thinking of you, girl! You got this! And your DD is a champ - public speaking is not an easy thing to do!
MLP - Chemo for me tomorrow too - but I am going to pass on the crutches - been there, done that. Wowsers - when it rains, it pours, eh?
I didn't have it too bad for round 2 - just tired...so I am wondering what Round 3 will bring. I did have a few "chemo brain" moments. They seem to be occuring with a bit more regularity these days - losing things that are right where I put them, taking a wrong turn on familiar routes home. Dumb stuff, but really irritating to a person who prides herself in getting her stuff done correctly.
I also am getting hot flashes at night that are wrecking my sleep! I used to take black cohosh that managed them quite nicely (total abdominal hysterectomy put me in early menopause about 6 years ago), but my BS had me stop for surgery, and the jury is mixed on whether it interferes or helps with TN breast cancer and chemo so I opted to stay off but my oh my...I hate being awake and feeling like I am combusting from the inside out only to take my temp and have it be 97.6!
Here's looking at #3 tomorrow!

MLP3.. Sorry bout the crutches but love the shoes! I broke my foot last Oct so I was in a boot for 6 weeks. As soon as the boot came off I got the BC diagnoses. Funny how that works.
Suzted, The SEs seem to come on when the steroids wear off after a day or 2 past chemo...worst days are4-6. Why do we take the steroids anyways? It's just prolonging the agony.
Nolagirl, glad you're getting it taken care of and really hoping it's nothing complicated
Piper, are you home yet?
Hugs to all going in for round 3 tomorrow! We're getting there

Hey ladies,
So sorry for you with SEs now, and for those with extra crap to deal with--not fair! (but we are used to that) MLP seriously? You went skiing and did fine! So sorry you have to deal with this. I am better after screwing up my Round 2 by not drinking enough water and not taking the Senna S. Whoops. Still fatigued and this does feel cumulative. I bounced back great the first time. This is day 11 and I couldn't work a whole day.
Piper, this pocket is getting crowded, what a party. I've got some hairpins I don't need anymore if you do decide we need to bust out. Yes, there's gas in the car! Go! Go! We love you. Post when you can.

In your pocket today Chambo! While I'm sitting in Boston traffic heading into my #3;

Chambro, MLP and everyone that is a "Tuesday Lady"- hoping today goes swimmingly smooth for you all!!💐
I'm trying to make it to my office today, with two kids in tow (off for Easter break). 👍

Thinking of those of you going for your treatments today! MLP so sorry to hear about your fall and subsequent issues now. When it rains it pours but it is sunny here today so I am looking at that as a positive sign for everyone today!
Piper, wondering what is happening with you. I hope you are getting better and back home. Your daughter is amazing! One of my most feared things in school....great for her! Let us know how you are doing when you can!
Nola..have a great day with your kids! New Orleans is on my bucket list for when this is done
Been using the mouth rinse given to me by my MO. Numbs all..and swallowing it numbs my throat so it is not as sore. Not sure if others of you have it but at least it helps me sleep. I feel like I am on steroids now and last week when I was I didn't feel them. Thinking this is part of the menopause symptoms although I have been going through it for several years with no issues.
